Change email on icloud

I changed my email but cannot change the email on icloud.  cannot access or set up an icloud account.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

It is on an icloud account i have the same account but I wanted to change the email cuz its an old email I updated please help me how do i change the email without losing all my data and apps again? Please help thanks

To change your iCloud ID, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.  This deletes the account and your iCloud data from your device, but not from iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account, your iCloud data will reappear on your device when you sign back in.
To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll (if not already there) before deleting the account.  To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, then tap Save to Camera Roll.
To change the ID on your Mac, go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, choose Delete for all the prompts (your data will still be in iCloud), then sign back in with the changed ID.

Furthermore I dont have access to this email anymore. Thanks for help in advance. Harry

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)

If you mean you need to change your iCloud ID on your device (which looks like an email address), go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the new ID.

  • Change Email Address iCloud

    Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,
For years I have used my university's email address, however after graduating, my Alma Mater turned off my email address, and I had to switch my iCloud email address to a new Yahoo.de based email address.  However, within Yosemite it keeps trying to log into iCloud using my old email address, and doesn't give me an option to change it my logon iCloud email address to my new one without deleting my iCloud account off my computer, and adding the same one back with the new email address.
    Please help.

    Hello Gatriel,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
From your post I understand that you have changed your Apple ID, but in your system preferences you still see that you are signed in with your previously named Apple ID.  Please sign out of iCloud on your Mac, and sign in with your newly renamed Apple ID.
On your Mac, choose Apple Menu > System Preferences, then click iCloud.
    iCloud: Apple ID
    Cheers,
    Alex H.

  • How to change email for iCloud on Iphone?

I have changed my email adress in my ID but my Iphone is still showing my old, I can change it in the ITunes store but not in iCloud

    Hello _Findus_,
The steps below can help get your iCloud account updated correctly.
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.

  • Changed email, but iCloud on iPhone 5s still shows old

    Hi,
I changed my email, but when I go to iCloud it still shows the old email in the ID and I cannot find a way to change it.

    Good day EllenClax,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
If you have changed your Apple ID (iCloud account) email address, but the iCloud setting on your iPhone still shows the old address, you may need to sign out and back in to iCloud:
    iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Go to Settings > iCloud.
If you're still signed in with your previous Apple ID:
Scroll down and tap Sign Out, then tap Sign Out to confirm. If you're using iOS 7 or earlier, tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm. You might need to enter your password. Your data will remain in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter your updated Apple ID or password.
You can find the steps above and more help with other Apple services at this link:

  • Changing email in iCloud

I am so annoyed.  Just bought iPhone 6 and want to transfer my pictures, apps, music, and contacts.  However, on my iPhone 5s I had no issue then after changing over, ICloud has reverted back to my old email from months ago and I can't change it to the one in iTunes.  I cannot delete my iCloud account.  Seriously Apple this has been an issues for thousands and you can't figure out a work around for this?????? Can anyone help?

Maybe you can help me, too. I have tried for months to change my iCloud account as I can not remember my old password. I have tried every password I've used in the past year, none work. But when I follow the "I forgot my password" lead, it takes me to a site where it changes my Apple ID password … which I have now changed about 5x in the past few months when I don't need a new Apple ID password, just a password so I can get back into my iCloud account. (Obviously none of these new passwords work on my iCloud account.) I don't understand why it keeps not working. Is it because my iCloud account name is in an [email protected] format? I can't delete it; I've tried everything I can think of. Any ideas? (Problematic as I have a Mac, a Macbook, an Airbook, iPad and iPhone…so having to change my Apple ID password each time I try to get a new iCloud password involves lots of work…for no point!)

  • Changing Email on iCloud.

I cannot remove my old email address from icloud app on my iphone 5s.
The normal methods and master reset did not work. What can I do ???

To change the iCloud account you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID.
If the old ID is not an earlier version of your new ID and your password is not accepted when you delete the account, you will have to contact the Apple account security team for assistance resetting the password: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

  • I changed my apple id email address to try jumpstart my account to send me a verification email for iCloud activation.  It worked but now I cannot change back to my original email address.  It says its in use.

    Hi Guys
I am writing this on behalf of a friend of mine.  To understand my issue let me explain how it started.  My friend has a apple ID with email address (lets call it) [email protected]  when activating iCloud on her iPhone a email was sent to verify her account.  This was not done and rendered the iCloud feature disabled due to not being activated.  [email protected] is the correct email address and works.  A form of troubleshooting I used the iForgot service to test if the email address was correct and mail flow from apple was working and it worked fine.
I logged into apple id to manage account and resend activation email for iCloud.  this did not send the mail.  I waited 48hrs but to no avail.
I decided to kickstart the account to force it to send to another email address by changing the primary email address from [email protected] to [email protected]  it worked and I verified the address and iCloud is now active.  However now I cannot change the primary email address back to [email protected] as it says its being used by another apple ID.
I then tried iForgot with the [email protected] email address, it says it sent a email to [email protected] but nothing arrived in [email protected] or [email protected]
I have this feeling the [email protected] is stuck I'm memory on my apple ID some how but can't get it to forget [email protected] so that I can use it as my primary email address again.
I have tried to log into iTunes with my original details [email protected] and password but says its incorrect.
any advices in this would be greatly appreciated.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

I just got an iphone recently and I started my apple id using my gmail email address. I decided to change email from gmail to icloud so I setup an icloud email account and now I have two apple id accounts.  All my primary information is in the gmail apple id account and i just want to merge the two together.  I've tried changing the apple id on the main account to the icloud email, but it says it already exists.  How can I merge these two accounts without deleting one or the other?
    Thanks
    pallhues

    You can't merge iCloud accounts.
You could move all your calendars contacts etc over from the account you don't want to the one you do, it's not simple but about all I can suggest.
