Change employee sub group code in configuration
Hello Fellows,
I have requirement to change employee sub group code in configuration. For example there are existing code starting AA text1, AB text2 and so on. I want to change it with 10 text1, 11 text 2. System is allowing to change text only (i.e text1,text2). is there any way to change code (i.e AA,AB) ?

Hi ,
You can use t-code 'EC12' to which suits your requirement.
In your case if you copy from AA to 10, and AB to 11 all ESG group related tables get updated.
Later you can change the text as well
After copying ,,Employees ESG wherever maintained will not update automatically.
You can make use of Org reassignment to change ESG for employees with LSMW for PA40.
If any PCR or Customization like User exit/BAdi,Custom tables if any where the old (AA) was maintained you need to replace/delimit with new one.
use the copy button as shown in below screen shot.

Changing or Deleting Standard Employee Sub Groups
Dear All,
I am creating a new Personnel Structure. The abbreviations that I want to use for my personnel Sub Groups are already used in the standard. Now all I want to ask is that should I delete the standard Employee Sub Groups and make my own with the abbreviations that I want or should I change the existing Employee Sub Groups and use them as my own? Some one told me once that you should never delete or change anything from the standard and now I am confused as to what I should do. If I change or delete the existing Employee Sub Groups will that have any negative effect on the system?

Ahsan ZaidiI think you should be able to leverage the existing employee subgroups - just make sure the way they have been currently configured for all rules and schemas for the standard system works for your scenarios as well. If not, you may need to change all those related tables and features and schemas and rules as needed.

All groupings are based on the SAP HR sub modules like for Time fro Personal work schedule we group in table V_001P_N
So for each sub module we have different table.
Please specify your exact requirement.

Is there any Impact if we change the Valuation Grouping code.
We have 2 valuation grouping codes
0001 For US plant and 0002 for Europe
For 0001 GR/IR clearing is 200000
For 0002 GR/IR clearing is 200001
We have 2071 plant is there it is assigned only for company code 430.
It is belongs to Europe plant. But they are assigned to 0001valuation grouping code.
Now they want to change the valuation grouping code for CC 430 from 0001 to 0002.
I have verified in OBYC transaction for 0001 and 0002 all the valuation classes and GL accounts are same, exepet GR/IR clearing account.
After changing the grouping code it will change the GR/IR account for CC430.

Deletion of Unused Employee Sub Group from the system.

My client has some unused Employee sub groups in the system.
Now they would like to delete the ESG which is not used currently.
I would like to know what would be the impact if that get deleted from the system.

As cheers said its not advisable to delete EG. ESG.
even you can do the control by doing some development with help of ABAP'rs. I mean you can write a user exit to not to use those ESG.. once you done this, when user select that ESG (which you have blocked), system will give u an error message. (what ever u defined)

i got hold by a issue. as per the business requirement i have to add 2 infotypes for a infogroup . the main issues here is the those infotype should appear only for one of the employee sub group not for all. kindly do the needful.

Hi all,
I am using OSA and I am trying to assign appraisal templates to certain employees. The old "Assign Appraisal Models to Personnel (Sub)Areas/Employee (Sub)Groups" does not seem to work.. could I be doing something wrong? How does this functionality work in the new module of OSA . can anyone help me out?

Is there a common table that I can download the details of grade / employee sub-group / activity type.
OR
Do I need to download them from different tables, If so, what are the tables that I can link up. In such case if I am creating a query through SQVI, what is common field in these three tables.
OR
Is there any logical database in SQVI for downloading the details for grade / employee sub-group / activity type

I am defining the Employee Subgroups.. I can explain my problem through an example
My employee Group is
1--Active and
Under Active I have Employee Subgroup as grades like (M8,M7,M6 etc.,)
So, I am configuring the same when I come to New entries
Employee Subgroup(Column) | Name of EE Subgroup(Column)
M7 | COO/CFO/President HR/IT/PS/AC
M6 | VP AC/HR/IT
The problem here is in the 2nd column, Although I have many Names to mentioned, like I have COO/CFO, President HR, President IT, President Purchase & President AC in only only grade referring to 1st Column (Employee Subgroup).
As the system allows only Limited names in Name of EE Subgroup column, reffering to that Employee Subgroup column( 1st Column). But as I need to maintain all the Names for that grade, since they all represent the same grade.
Can any of you help in configuring all the Names for that particular grade.

We are in the process of implementation.
I prepare employee group EG as Permanent,Fixed, trainees etc.... and under permanent we have all salaried employees.
query :-
All salaried employees in Unit 1 and Unit3 are divided in to two diff category, worker and administrative, Worker have 12 hrs 2 shifts (8 am to 8 pm and 8pm to 8am) and administrative employees have 10hrs shift general shift. unit 4 have general shift.

Another query related to same is all PA have diff pay day and payroll process day is separate.

As mentioned earlier, to sort out the different paydate problem, you will have to create different payroll areas. Since the permanent, trainees,admins, workers etc work different times, you need to create different work schedules for them and assign it to the correct group of employees.
The grouping of Employees ie ESG comes into picture when you are processing payments differently.

Regarding Employee grp/Employee Sub Group error
Hello,
I created 8 different esg (AG,MG,SL,CR,N1.N2,N3,N4) (T503k)
Assigned these 8 Esg to EG 1 (Active) (T503Z). all for country 10.
Now When I am trying to execute action with eg 1 and esg "AG". Error says "No entry in T503 table".
I checked T503 table. I see only entries MG, N1, N2, N3, N4. Three esg are missing AG,SL CR.
I checked all the configuration for 8 esg. All are similar. How come I see only 5 esg in T503.
Any inputs?
I deleted and re-configured the entries. Still the problem persists.
SatyaNot sure what is missing. But you should check the Assign ESG to EG config (V_T503Z) again and make sure country 10 is selcted and save the data.
also create V_503_B once V_T503Z is created. -

ZenophileAll depends on your needs. We have over 40 collective agreements plus more than 11 non-unionized sets of "work conditions".
In Time Evaluation, there are many ESG, and not everyone nedds to be the same. For example, in our system
ESG for Work Schedules has 3 values (1, 2, 3)
ESG for tarification has 2 values (1, 3)
ESG for primary WT has 3 values (1, 2, 3)
ESG for PCR has 3 values (1, 3, 8)
ESG for quotas has 9 values (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9)
ESG for Evaluation has 0 values
In Payroll Processing, we use 3 ESG (1 = casual employees, 3 = regular employees, 8 = Daily Based) -
Defining / Assigning Employee Groups and Sub Groups.
I have defined a Personnel Area for e.g Barron Hotels - London BH01 and Barron Hotels - Manchester - BH02. I have also defined there respective Personnel Subareas.
What exact steps much I take to define the Employee Group and Employee Sub Groups and how do I link (Assign) them to corresponding the Personnel Area and Personnel subareas defined above.
Can some one please show me the exact steps. I have heard SM30 and V_503_ALL mentioned but how exactly are these used.

There is no link between EG-ESGs and Personnel Area -Subareas.. All these form an Enterprise Structure for an organisation and it can be seen against an employee in IT0001 - Org Assignment.
Well, you have created PA as well as PSAs. Now what you do is, similarly create EG- ESGs.. say for example..
Emplyee Groups as A- Associate, B- Managers... etc...
Employee Subgropus as A1, A2,.. B1, B2.. etc...
Path: IMG-> Enterprise structure->Definition->Human Resources Management-> Employee Groups and
-> Employee Subgroups
When you create Personnel Areas.. you need to assign them to a Company Code...
Path: IMG-> Enterprise structure->Assignment->Human Resources Management-> Assign Personnel Area to Company Code
Similarly, when you create Employee Subgroups, you assign it to Employee Groups (EGs)
Path: IMG-> Enterprise structure->Assignment->Human Resources Management
-> Assign employee subgroup to employee group
Next is the table you mentioned in your query... V_503_ALL... this clubs the groupings for -> ES grouping for collective agreement provision, Employee subgroup grouping for primary wage types, time quota types, work schedule etc,,, these are according to company requirements..

You can create the employee groups depending up on your clients requirement, Eg: Permanent, Temporary, Seasonal, Trainee, Advisor etc
And define the employee subgroups and assign them to the employee groups Like
Enterprise structure>Definition>Human Resource Management-->Employee Groups & Employee Groups
Enterprise structure>Assignment>Human Resource Management-->Assign employee subgroup to employee group
you can create employee subgroups depending up on your requirement like asst manager, manager, GM, MD, VP ETC an assign them to the employee subgroups ok.
Ensure that certain empployee subgroups may not be assigned to employee group based on requiremen, but create all the employee sub groups which is existing in the organization.
