Change field used for Mailing Labels

Hi. I am a new Mac user and I need help with mailing labels. When I print my labels, I want to use a custom field - Label Name - as the first line on the label, rather than the name of the contact. Is there a way to do this? For example, I might have a contact name of Joe Johnson, but I will have The Johnsons as his Label Name for sending holiday cards, etc. I don't want to change all my contact names to these appropriate label names. Is there a way to configure the mailing label to print the custom field rather than the first and last name? Thanks for your help.

I have this same complaint. Prior to Snow Leopard, there was a feature in Address Book that automatically combined the name on an address book entry with a related name (spouse). I used that feature and adjusted my Address Book so that it worked for me. Unfortunately Apple deleted the feature in Snow Leopard without giving a reason or a tenable workaround. See kb article #HT3952 for details.
I imagine the feature was deleted because it was somewhat surprising and confusing. Still it WAS a feature and there IS NO WORKAROUND. I investigated writing an AppleScript, but decided it probably couldn't be done. I ended up printed labels this year using a kludgey mail merge with Microsoft Word. A lot of work and still not fully satisfactory.
Apple, please add a feature to replace the old method!

Using Address Book for mailing labels

I know how to use the address book for mailing labels, but when I went to print I had children's names appear on the labels. Is there a way to request souces, but not children. In other words can you select specific information to appear on the labels. Or do you have to go into address book and delete the kids names. Any advice would be great.

There are several 3rd-party applications which will print mailing labels from your address book data and give you greater control of what is printed.
Roll Call Directory and Imprint have both been mentioned.
I don't know how they handle linked cards, so if you try either you might let us know.

Setting Margins for Mailing Labels in Reports 6i

I would like to know how to configure the margins (vertical/horizontal properties) for different mailing label formats. I am unable to correctly set them to use for Avery labels. MS Access has a great label wizard that brings up a variety of mailing label formats and allows you to choose from the list. I have found nothing similar in Oracle Reports. Have been a DBA/developer of Oracle Applications for 20+ years. Help!

If your password is accepted, and Mail connects to the account, but you're prompted for the password repeatedly, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Note: these steps don't apply if the server rejects the password. That's a different problem.
Step 1
When prompted for the password, check the box marked Remember this password in my keychain.
Step 2
Check that the keychain is working.
Step 3
Check that the default keychain is unlocked.

I found a post with this solution that worked for me - .Do a backup, then download ibackupbot. It lets you look into the contents of that backup. Look in system files>mediadomain>library>sms>attachments. I found a ton of huge files related to long deleted texts. ibackupbot let me delete all that old crap. I then restored the phone with that now modifec backup and Bingo! freed up 9 GB. No problems.
But note, if you are not technically inclined you probaly don't want to be digging around and deleting back up files. You delete the wrong thing and you could jack up your phone badly. Be careful.

Table fields used for basic key figures in report writer/report painter

Does anyone know how I can find which table field is actually being used for SAP defined basic key figures in report writer report? For example, HSL is a basic key figure for income statement, library 0F1, report 0F-GUVV. It only shows data is coming from table GLFUNCT. How does the report writer program knows which fields to select? What is the logic behind the basic key figures?
Any advice is appreciated!!

I have now resolved this issue.
I had to manually update TablesT804B and T804F.
I've added entries to T804A in the past without the need to update T804B or T804F manually so it appears that the way these tables work together has changed following an upgrade or application of support packs.

TRYING to format for mailing labels.

Hello all, I'm having a problem I'm hoping you could possibly help me figure out. I bought labels from office max today with the intent of formatting my word processor (in this case pages) so that I can just type up the names and addresses and print them out on the label sheet. well stupid, naive little me figured there'd be instructions on how to format your word processor so that the labels printed out correctly... and there wasn't. so i've been trying to figure out a way on my own to format the page correctly, but I can't seem to get anything to work right. I tried creating a table, but the actual page of labels has a space in between each column of labels, where as the table does not, which would ultimately off-set the second and third column of the labels.
I know it has been suggested numerous amount of times (believe it or not I actually tried to research this question before posting) that anyone attempting to create mailing labels just use the address book application... but the reason I CAN'T do that is because I don't actually have a printer that is compatible with my mac right now. I need to type up the mailing labels and then e-mail them to a PC in order to get them printed out, therefore rendering the address book method useless to me.
If anyone has ANY suggestions of what I can do (that doesn't involve me immediately purchasing a new printer... ), I would greatly appreciate it.
I hope this thread made SOME kind of sense... if not, i'd be more than happy to clarify anything you are confused about.

There are several ways you can go about this.
1. Most labels come with Word templates or downloadable Word templates. Simply open those in Pages.
2. Make a table with extra cells for the thin spaces between the labels and skinny those down to match the spaces. ie You have big fat cells for the actually labels and thin narrow empty ones for the gaps.
3. Make a floating Text box the size of one label, format with dummy text just the way you like it.
+Menu > Format > Advanced > Define as Placeholder text+
You can now drag and drop snippets of text, the addresses etc onto those and it will replace them matching the style of the existing text.
You duplicate that text box into position of the other labels by clicking on it with the command kety held down, then drag copy it up or across with the option and shift keys held down. Fine tune the positions with:
+Inspector > Metrics > Position+

I don't know for your special case (this transaction) but in a user exit you can have access to global variables by using field-synbols.
Declare a constant like this:
constants : c_program3(30) TYPE c VALUE '(NameOfTheProgram)t_data'.
You can dynamic assign of fiel symbols to get this global variable in your user exit.
field-symbols : <k> type any,
<l> type any.
ASSIGN c_program3 TO <k>.
ASSIGN (<k>) TO <l>.
if <l> is assigned.
endif.
So if in your program you have the all your items stored in a global variable, you can then modify all of them.

You can specify a business partner serving as the channel partner of this customer. The channel partner will be automatically displayed in documents created for the customer and this is relevant to customers alone

Change field alignment for field type currency / float

I have a requirement : I want to align the field in the webUI on the right, not the label.
Actually for the attribute type currency or float, it is at aligned at the right position.
I see the configuration description and the XML file. I try to modify that XML file to add the attrinute ALIGN = "LEFT" for the field
But it is too hard and I want to know if there is another solution that reading/modifying this XML file.

I had seen the method get_parameter but how to do this? As I know it, it only change the value returned not any kind of format.
I think the value is correct but the layout of the field is not correct.
I can change the *.htm of the class and put some css code but I think it is not the solution.

Did you check the subroutine set_print_param. This sub routine should tell you the logic on how the data for sender is used. Use your own custom logic to fill the sender.

How do I find the setup for mailing labels on Pages

I cannot find the place on Pages to set up labels. I use Avery labels and there is no icon once I go to Pages for setting up labels. Thanks

Use Contacts or Address Book. The Avery labels are part of the Print dialogue.
If you want to use Pages, it depends on the version. Pages 5 has merging removed, recently patched with an AppleScript which is a bit fiddly.
Pages '09 merges from Numbers Tables or Address Book data.
In either case you will need to open an Avery label Word template from their website and fill in the Labels which are individual Textboxes.
