Change filters in an infopackage

i use an ancien version of BW (V3.5 i think) and i can get to change the filters in an infopackage.
Can you help me on that,

Below example should clarify your doubt.
You can change your filters in Init Info-Package. Let' s say you have initialized your Init InfoPackage with only one company code
1001.
So, your Delta InfoPack is bringing delta records related to company code 1001 only.
Now , you added two more company codes 1002 and 1003 in the init selection. Subsequent deltas will bring data for 1001 , 1002 and 1003. So, its the upper maximum of all your delta inits.
But you do not have old data for 1002 and 1003. If you are doing Repair full request then you can get old data of 1002 and 1003.
But things to check here , whether you have all the Key Figure as overwrite here before pulling repair full, else KF values will be doubled. In that case you can do repair full request with selection to avoid duplicate values there.

What is the meaning, and where does that changes come from and are they useful, cause no changes were performed ?
I guess this is not really significant, and I tried to filter them wtih the inventory change filter, which was unsuccessfull. Could you advise how I can filter them ?

I'm not sure about why the first value changed. My guess is that a port was added to this device. To filter this, check the boxes next to:
Port:Port Serial Number
Port:Manufacturer Name
The second one is quite common. Any time an interface changes state, its ifLastChange time will change. This may not be useful, especially on switch ports. To filter this one out, check the box next to:
Interface:Last Change
The last entry looks to be another added port. Again, you would filter out the elements I listed above.
All that said, seeing things like serial number an manufacturer name change might be useful. You should think twice before filtering those. Filtering out Last Change for interfaces, though, is probably a safe thing to do.

How to change date selections at Infopackage data selections in production sys

Hi All ,
we are loading data into Infocube from datasource ,one process chain for delta init with data transfor ,which has data selections at infopackage say 06.2014 and other process chain for delta which has same selections at infopackage . Now I want change this data selections at Infopackage level .
I Have tried to change these dates in data selections at infopackage level , tho I have changed and saved to future date at delta initial with data transfor ,it's keep coming back to 06.2014. Of course data selection at delta Infopackage level is faded .
I Want to set future date with delta int with disturbing delta loads . How to do it please .

Hi Ram,
We will load delta Intial with data transfer every weekend , and we run delta everyday , because we do delta init with data transfer with selections say ( 01.20011 to 12.2003 ) every weekend , hope I need to create new delta infopack with new data selections say ( 01.2004 to 12.9999) only to get update data in Infocube.
Please correct me if I am wrong .

Changing filters in jfilechooser causes selection to disapear

i am hoping you guys can help me.
i have a JFileChooser with some custom filters. i set a default file to export
this.setSelectedFile(new File(session.getLabel()+((ExportFileFilter)getFileFilter()).getExtension()));
this is fine in teh constructor, i get a nice filename derieved form the session.
but then i use the file type dropdown to select adifferent filter.
and the filename field goes blank.
i had attached a property change listener to the filter list, and repeated that command form above in teh propertyChange method. but that didn't help.
anyone have thoughts?

Would it be an option to use text boxes from a stencil instead of creating them from scratch?
Then you could protect them from formating. Or even better just the show line / or geometry.
If you have to work on existing drawings without protected text boxes, then you could think about a way to select them and protect them by code.
This selection could be done in the worse case by selecting them by hand, then running the macro.

VPN split tunneling does not work with filtering enabled

I restricted our Windows VPN clients to reach only certain IPs and ports using filtering in their group policy. It works but I would like to add split tunneling for client's local Internet access. I temporary disabled filtering, unchecked the 'user default gateway on remote' box in properties of Windows VPN client, configured networks to be tunneled and it works. The moment I configure filters, my split tunneling does not tunnel the networks - they are not listed in Windows 'route print'. I change filtering to inherit or NONE and reconnect VPN and the tunneled networks show up again. I change filtering to a simple testing ACL/ACE and reconnect and they are gone again. Can I have split tunneling and filtering working simultaneously? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not aware of any method named tokenize and there isn't one listing in
the alphabetic list of methods in the J2SE API. Perhaps you were thinking
of java.util.StringTokenizer, whose API contains this note:

Finding changes in an object

Hi Gurus,
Please let me know how to find out what exact changes has been done on a object in the system. For example, if changes are done in a infopackage or a transformation, how do we know what are the exact changes that are made. Please let me know.

Hi Rajesh,
I do not think there is any method to find out what exactly changes has did in infopackage or any object...you can find out what date you have changes object, no of transport request etc...If you want to find out changes then before transport you can compare the objects with next system means you have made changes in development system and you want to findout what changes then comare same object with quality..

Load Masterdata with Infopackage and DTP..Is there any other way simplier ?

We are currently working under BI 2004s SP09. And we are trying to loading Masterdata from R3. For Attributes and text, we have to create Infopackage for DS, load data from R3 into PSA(Not able to into Char directly), then create transformation and DTP to upload data into characteristics.
If we work with transformation and DTP directly, we got nothing!!?? But if that is the only way we can upload InfoObject, the whole process seems more complexe then what happened in BW 3.X.
Or there is way to allow us upload data into Infoobject directly with DTP?

Hi Kenneth,
Am wondering whether the DTP was created at the wrong level, the top level as you have suggested, i.e the Infocube (or Infoprovider) level is the correct place to place the DTP.
As for a simpler method, I'd stay clear of the do not access PSA. We found numerous problems with moving to PRD and daily deltas not working correctly.
Hence as such changed loads to OLTP > Infopackage > DTP > Data Target(be it master data).

InfoPackage Selection

Hey gurus ...
In my previous post i put my question altogether wrong ..so here is my question again
In BW 3.5
In infopackage 'Data Selection' tab we can select range of values (From Values , To Values) for some fields in datasource .We make these fields available for selection, when we check the selection box (corresponding to field ) in transfer structure of datasource.
My question is how do this in BI 7.0 when we are using DTPs and transformations , not tranfer rules .
ie : how to make a field in datasource available under data selection tab in infopackage ..
I hope i am clear this time in putting up my doubt .

DTP data selection
1. Open the DTP
2. Goto the Extraction Tab
3. There will be a "Filter" button opposite to the Extraction mode.
4. By using this Filter button you can do data selection and add more fields using Change selection button.
Infopackages still have to be used to get information from Sources System.
DTPs are mainly used to transfer data among BI objects except in the case of direct accessing from Data source.

Changing background picture every 5 seconds.....having issues

When I switch the background picture to change every 5 seconds my computer either freezes, runs slow, doesn't work normal (if I open another application it won't be functional). I have 1gb of ram (came with the computer) so I'm not sure if this is where the problem stems from.
If I set it to change the picture ever minute then I don't have any problems.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Although unlimited it is limited to 300Gb download+upload.
Is it at all possible that you have maxed out your download cap. You therefore will have reduced speed during peak times.
Does not explaine your speedtest results out side of that.
You have checked all your equipment and tested on the your test socket and changed filters etc.
If all of this is done and it's still the same, sadly a call to support will need to be made so they can investigate further.

When using BW Bex query analyzer users cannot change reporting queries ....

Issue: When using BW Bex query analyzer users cannot change reporting queries. Any attempt to change queries results in errors.
Error: BEx Query Designer: Run-time error '-2147221499 (80040005) Fatal Error - Terminating
Impact: Business reporting is currently being negatively impacted because users cannot modify queries, cannot change filters for fiscal period and fiscal year.

Frontend System: Being a large organization, we have a controlled environment wherein all users will have the following applications installed by default:
1. SAP Client Base 7.10
2. SAP BW 3.5 Patch 4
3. SAP BI 7.10 Patch 900
4. SAP GUI 7.10 Patch 12
Does anyone has any idea as to why we are getting this error? Is it a Vista issue? Is it a front-end issue?

Just a thought - did you guys apply any Microsoft security patches before this started happening - we had a similar issue in other SAP application due to MS security update. Raise an OSS with SAP

Limiting direct changes in production

Hi i would like to ask you guys, on how to limit direct changes in production..
if im using scc4 to say no changes, automatically the system prevent any changes to system.
we still want to be able to change these objects : query ,infopackage and processchain ,
anyone have done such things ?

-->This can do but I've seen there is little bit slowness at user end to for response,once file is saved then it would be normal

-->You can go with both cases during the service is off or on,I've seen no issues so far; most proffered one is offline.
I prefer 2nd option.

Change in the model of Process chain and its impact

Hi,
We have lot of infopackages included in the Process chains which has the processing type as "PSA only and then update subsequently in data targets".
Now i had changed some of the infopackages to the processing type as PSA and then into the data targets option!
But in the process chain the process type update from PSA is still existing!
I am not sure whether i should remove this process type in process chain after changing the process type in the scheduler
Any ideas?

hi raj,
do not remove the PSA & update step as it is a fulproof method for the data load.
if u'll try to remove and activate the Process chain it will show warnings but still activate the chain.
the data load sometimes may get loaded and other times it may not reflect in the data target although the step will be green in the process chain.

Attribute Change Run in Process Chain

I'm making a process chain purely for attributes. Every time I add an infopackage for attributes I get prompted to make an attribute change run. Do I need an attribute change after every attribute infopackage or can I just have one at the end?

Error when inital load to cuble

we are in 3.5,
and I am doing a delta lode into a cube from ODS and it gives error says
"Incorrect records were discovered. The incorrect records could not be written into a PSA.
Time conversion from 0CALDAY to 0FISCPER (fiscal year K4) failed with value 13020601
Error 5 in the update"
Any idea? and how can I fix it.
Please advice me

your DSO has an incorrect CALDAY of 13020601 and there is an automatic conversion of CALDAY to FISCPER in your cube update rules .
Either delete this entry from the active data / change log of the DSO or correct the same and put necessary filters in the infopackage to load into cube.

Loading old data to Sales Cube

Hi,
Is it safe to load data in a loaded sales cube?
Like for example, the cube has already been loaded with jan 2005 up to current date billing data and we want to load july 2004 data... Will it have any impact on the accuracy of the cube?

as already mentioned there is no ODS...hence, there is no update rules with overwrite mode and there is no possibility to overwrite anything since in a cube you can only go in append mode...
So, Winnie, fill your setup tables in R/3 (here I don't think it's possible to find an easy way to filter by year, since you have only salesorg, company code and document number...) and then load with no problem with some filters in your infopackage !
Anyway, remember that if you want to load in full mode, every changes to the 'old' documents (2004) will be not uploaded...(but maybe this is not a problem if you are sure that these changes are no more possible...)
