  • Change text colour in mail replies

with Community Support help, I have found the 'colour' icon and how to get it on the toolbar when composing an email, but it's not an option in the 'reply' or 'reply all' mode  -  the choices to customize the toolbar there are far fewer and don't include 'colour'.   It's a pain to have to highlight and go thfough the menus and submenus all the time, is there a way to get round this?    I like to reply withing the body of quoted text and the only way this is workable is to use a different colour for the text - it was siample before i upgraded a few days ago to Lion!     GRRRRR!

Take it and its purchase receipt to a physical Apple Store and/or click here and contact Apple's Account Security team.

Can't use Find My Friends on iPhone due to Apple ID not being verified.
Can't do this as I can't access my .mac email any longer and I can not change the primary e-mail address for my Apple ID!
    So my options are:
Create a new Apple ID, use that and lose all the apps I've purhcased with it (a fairly substantial amount)
Somehow Migrate these purchases over to a new Apple ID
Apple let me change the primary ID for the account
Anyone else ran into this before?
I've tried accessing the mail through a mail application using the correct server information, and trying both the old 6 character password and the one I had to change it too after they updated the security guidelines - neither work.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I can see more services down the line not working without the address being verified!

To change the iCloud ID you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You should not need to verify the old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • I updated my Iphone 3gs to last version of iOS and now I can't change my configurations of Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

I updated my Iphone 3gs to last version of iOS and now I can't change my configurations of Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Generally that is a sign that the iPhone had previously been jailbroken
or hacked to work with other than the original wireless provider. The update
has relocked the iPhone to the original wireless provider. You must
contact them to see if they provide unlocking and if you qualify.
If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at
    Settings=>General=>About=>Carrier?

  • How can I change the colour of an iCal calender on the iPhone?

I have two iCal calendars on my iPhone that sync to google. It works fine with push but both of hem has the same colour. That makes it hard to see the diference.
How can I change the colour?
I am syncing to outlook so I don't have iCal on the statonary.

I looked into this before, and at the moment there is little you can do to customize the inputrender tag, short of subclassing it and adding the functionality you require

  • Changing Preferred Language leaves Mail.app's FLAGS menu showing the last non-English language

After changing the System's Preferred Language to FRANCAIS, then back again to BRITISH ENGLISH, I've found that the FLAGS menu of MAIL.APP will not change back to ENGLISH.
    e.g.
    - I change the Preferred Language setting to FRANCAIS,
    - I restart Mail.app.
    - I change the Preferred Language setting to BRITISH ENGLISH
    - I restart Mail.app.
The Flags menu is still in FRANCAIS. Every other menu is using the correct language
    - I then change the Preferred Language to ESPANOL
    - I restart Mail.app
    - I change the Preferred Language setting to BRITISH ENGLISH
The Flags Menu is now in ESPANOL.
It seems I can change the FLAGS menu to anything other than ENGLISH or BRITISH ENGLISH.
Rebooting between changes and/or leaving Mail.app open or closed seems to make no difference.
It's quite annoying as I make extensive use of keyboard shortcuts to flag emails....!
    Any clues?

I should point out that every other menu is changing correctly to reflect the Preferred Language. It is just the FLAGS menu that is not changing to english.

  • How do I stop Lion Mail from "changing flags?"

I noticed that the new Lion Mail (5) gets hung up. When I check the activity pane, it always says "Changing Flags." Clicking the stop sign icon will stop this temporarily, but every few hours Mail gets hung up on this again.
    Any idea what's going on?

    Hi Douglass,
You will need to navigate to the following folder.
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Mail/V2/MailData
and backup the following file... MessageRules.plist
Open the file in BBedit to confirm your rules are infact inside that particular plist file as Mail will also create backups occasionally.
Once you reinstall, do a compare/replace with the newly created MessageRules.plist and you should be able to bring your "old" rules into your fresh install.
as for mailboxes, those are contained within this folder
    /Users/yourusername/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes
and it will be up to you to backup those files and File/Import Mailboxes them into the new install.

  • Can I change the colour of my iPhone 5, when my guarantee is out of date?

My guarantee of my iPhone is up to date but I warnt to change the colour of it from Black to white. Is that possibly? And free?

Even if the warranty were still in effect, you couldn't do so.
If under warranty and an exchange under warranty is required as determined by Apple, the exchange will be the same model, storage capacity, and color.

  • How to change the primary outgoing mail server in iphone

I am trying to change the primary outgoing mail server from Yahoo to another mail which is my internet provider. I do not know the steps to complete this in my iphone thanks

If you have more than one email account on your phone, you can change the default account under Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendar>Default Account. Note that this setting does not appear unless you have more than one account on your phone. So, you'll need to add the email account from your ISP under Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Add New Account if you have not already done so.

  • Using colours in mail

    Hi Forum,
I'm looking at using Colours to flag mail in Mail. firstly, i know i have done it before but i simply cannot find how, when i create a new colour palette, how I changed the colours?!?!? i can create the palette, i can create a new colour name, but i cannot then change or assign a colour to that new colour name. any ideas?
secondly, any tips on how to use Mail to flag differing accounts for different reasons? I have 2 business accounts A, and B, in both I want to flag the mail with its own colour, easy enough, A can be red, B can be blue. i then need to flag different e-mail with each account for different reasons but similar in each account.
For example, in A, i need to flag the email from that accoutn to be blue, then i want to have a smart folder to sort certain types of email, say:
    To Do: Urgent
    To Do: Not So Urgent
    This Months Expenses
    Last months Expenses
i can use a flag, but if i use just the colour flag for this account to match the email colour, Blue, only one flag for 4 uses needed. how do differentiate the task above?

nobody knows how to edit the colour pallette in Apple Mail? at all? is it harder than i imagined?

  • I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  I was given the choice of small, medium or large the first time I took a picture.  Now I have no idea how to change it to medium.  Can anyone help?

I cannot figure out how to change the photo size on my iPhone 5s.  The first time I took a pic it asked if I wanted smalll,  medium or large and listed the pixels.  I chose small but am now finding that is too small.  Can anyone help me set it to medium now?  I can't find any setting for that.  I'm a newby to iPhones and have no idea what I'm doing.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

By "sending" do you mean sending email?
If so, what app are you using to take the photos on your iPhone 5? Or are the photos from a different source (saved to your Camera Roll from somewhere else, like a web page or Messages)?
My guess is that Mail gives you the option to send different file sizes when it detects you are trying to Mail a really large photo file. The size of photos on the iPhone 5 is really big and some email providers may stop your mail from being delivered if attachments are too large. Thus, Mail tries to help you by offering to resize the photo.
I suspect that if you are sending smaller files, Mail does not bother giving you options to save a smaller version. In fact, I have seen this behavior. So, if the photo is already "small enough", it gets sent as-is.
To my  knowledge, there is no global iOS setting for this. Some apps may have different rules, of course.
