Change Flash IDE default player in OSX?

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the flash player
that Flash IDE uses? As far as I know, it uses the special
debugging version of the player. For some reason this player runs
much slower than the regular standalone player in OSX.
So I'm trying to figure out if there's a configuration file I
can edit or something to have it launch the standalone player when
using the Flash IDE.
There's a "players" folder Inside the main "Adobe Flash CS3"
folder. I tried swapping out the player in there in the debug
folder but it didn't seem to do anything.
I know there's the nifty flash switcher app that does exactly
what I need, but it's only available on the PC.

Your problem is completely different than what we're talking
about in this thread.
Your problem is discussed in the thread '[ADOBE] Resolving
Mac Flash Player install problems 9/2007'. Check that out and you
should be able to resolve it via permission repair.

Issue in viewing video from AMS on flash's default player for first click of play stream on player

FMLE is streaming to AMS and Adobe default flash player is trying to view stream from AMS - i need to hit "Play Stream" button for 2-3 times to view video on Default adobe's flash player.
This issue is 100% reproducing every time.

Every time i play stream in flash player i have to hit play stream botton 2-3 times, this issue can be reproduced with default videoplayer.html.

When i play a song from my itunes library, there is a short "buzzing" sound about every 20-30 seconds. I had the problem before and thought it was fixed after verifying that itunes was my default player. Any ideas to fix the problem now??

I've just downloaded Adobe Flash Player 13, but .flv files and .f4v files are not played by Adobe Flash Player. I've tried to make it default player but i didn't release which file .exe to browse for (by right-clicking and choosing Open with > Choose default program...).

There's a Flash Player Projector (standalone) in the Flash Professional CS6/Players folder, but it's usually outdated.
When browsing to an app to use from the Properties window, go there, but... download this one: Windows Flash Player 13 Projector and replace the Flash Player that's in that folder.
If you're looking to test Flash files you've authored, then you'll need the Projector, but if you're just looking for a good player for FLV and F4V, then you should use VLC Media Player. http://www.videolan.org/

Flash Player 9 OSX

I recently tried installing Adobe Flash Player 9 OSX and I get an error message that a browser is still running on my system. I closed all of the browsers, ran disk utility to repair permissions, ran disk warrior, uninstalled flash player and still I get an error message preventing my from installing flash player.
I am running 10.4.9 on a G5 PPC.
Any advise?

the flash installer does play up, occasionally....
http://rapidshare.com/files/30661227/Flash9.0.r45_ppc.zip.html ( select the free option ) will get you a zip containing the two active files that Flash uses. PPC version - not for intels.
Unzip it, drag the two files to HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/ ( choose overwrite )
Then repair permissions via Disk Utility.
Restart all browsers that are open & you should have Flash 9.0.r45 up and running.

Flash Player 9 OSX Install Question???

Greetings! Recently my Flash Player stopped operating, and
prompts came up on screen to go to Adobe's website to download
Flash Player 9 OSX. After double checking which version to
download, I proceded with it's installation. After the download was
over, the prompt came up again as not having the Flash player.
Here's a copy of the prompt:
The page “Macromedia - Flash Player” has content
of MIME type “application/x-shockwave-flash”,
but you don’t have a plug-in installed for this MIME
type. A plug-in should be available on this page:

Why does it keep cycling itself back to saying I don't have
the software? Am I missing something here? I've tried so many
times, I've lost count! ANY help, suggestions, etc... would be MUCH
appreciated.

If you have the luxury of living near by a Certified Apple
Store... go there! Purchase the "ProCare" card, and they'll do a
REINSTALL the latest OS X 10.4.10. Worked IMMEDIATELY after the

The websites I use just keep saying to install the flash player.

It's a web plugin. It only works in a browser and can't replace QuickTime Player or any other application.

I uninstalled flash from my new mac (OSX 10.9.1) then tried to install updated version, but ended say Actionlist not found. And using safari as browser.

DON'T use the downloader/installer or the webpage... I never do

Save it, Quit Safari and mount the DMG to install it.

Flash Player 9 OSX problems

I’m running a Mac 1.5 Ghz Power PC G4 laptop with a gig
of ram with an OS of 10.4.10. Using Firefox version 2.0.0.6.
The problem is flash player will not work unless I run
“Applejack” followed by reinstalling Flash Player 9
OSX. This will work for a day or so it then stops working showing
the ghosted QuickTime logo with a question mark layered on top of
the logo.
What am I doing wrong?

When I trashed the QT player 10 and clicked on the .3g2 movie file, it didn't automatically open with QT 7 Pro. Instead a window opened wanting to convert the file to Flash. I don't want that to happen.

Goto File > Get Info or (CMD I)
In the Get Info window, scroll down to "Open with:"
Select the player you want to open the music file.
Click the "Change All..." button if you want to

An image changing to FLV Video Player in AJAX Update Panel

I'm trying to design part of a website can seen as video gallery. I have videos related to subcategories; and subcategories that related to categories.
I was using popups but now want to change it. Simply, firstly there are images and descriptions(in an update panel) of videos on page. After clicking thumbnail, the region includes thumbnail and description wil be changed to FLV video player.
Outside of updatepanel player is working good. but when i move it into updatepanel; doesn't working in IE. Because JS code (AC_FL_RunContent(.....)) is not working in updatepanel. Tried another script (like alert('hello!');), it's working. I think i have problem with the function named AC_FL_RunContent(...). It's working as i want, if open page with Firefox.
Looked for this in google. Visited many pages, but never find a solution for this nor source of problem. I hope someone can help me

1) In a Finder window highlight a file of the kind you want to change the application to open that kind of file.
2) While that file is highlighted, select File > Get Info or press command (apple or propeller icon) + i to get a file information window.
3) In the lower part of the info window there is an "open with" menu with a list of applications.
4) If your application is already in the box then it is the default application for opening that kind of file and you don't need to do anything more. Close the get info window.
5) If the application showing in the menu is not the one with which you wish to open the file then select a new application. If your application does not appear there then select the "other..." and track down the application (usually in the Applications folder at the main level of the computer).
6) If you wish to change all files of this type to open with this application in future, make sure the "change all" button is selected.
7) Close the get info window.

I am facing some migration/compatibility issues between Adobe Flash CS3 Professional and Adobe Flash Professional CS5:
I am working on a project that has been completely developed in CS3 earlier. When I am using CS5 (Flash Player 9 / Flash Player 10) to compile the FLA files, it is creating some new issues like some customized radio buttons are getting disappeared while viewing the SWF on a web page etc.
So, I would like to know:
1) Is there any migration/compatibility issue between Adobe Flash CS3 Professional and Adobe Flash Professional CS5?
2) If yes: Is there any patch available from Adobe for it?
3) If no: What could be the causes and the best possible solutions for it?
Any help and support would be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!
