Change font in iMovie theme
Hi guys
Is there any way I can change the text in the "title 1" or "title 2" field to make it smaller so it doesn't text wrap on me?
bcap,
Here's a recent thread addressing a similar question.

How to change font in imovie title
I have put some titles in my iMovie and cannot change the font. I click on the Title and the font fetures are not active, so it remains the default font.
Hey All,
I was struggling with changing fonts too -- then I used "Upper" which can be changed and Simply copy and paste it into any other style of title.
IT WORKS! (what a hack)
-Hope it works for you too -

Changing font throughout a theme
Hi everyone...I have used iWeb to produce several pages for a website using the theme Layered Paper. Everything looked so nice and well-laid out...and then I checked it out on a Windows machine and found out that the font Hoefler Text (which iWeb uses as the standard font for the ENTIRE theme) is not on Windows machines, and just shows up as Times Roman. It looks terrible...the font causes lines to break wrong, it's a mess.
I don't want to start over with a new theme, because it's going to throw everything all off terribly when I change the theme. I don't want to just start clicking everything and putting shadows/rotating it 0.1 degrees, because if all of the text is turned into graphics (1) it won't be searchable...in my website and on Google; and (2) it will be slower for the pages to load.
I would like to just tell iWeb to make all of the theme work as the font Georgia instead of Hoefler Text, even if it takes some minor hacking. Can anyone help me out on this? I am sure there are others out there who are experiencing similar frustration and could use the tip as well.
As a side note, for the life of me I can't figure out WHY Apple would design entire themes for the web in fonts that aren't web-friendly fonts! Particularly when they have a list of "Web" fonts in the show fonts palette.
Thanks everyone,
dshillisThanks, this is a great workaround, even though it is a slight hack. Going to this link shows you a movie clip on how to do this, but basically what you're going to go is go into Applications/iWeb, Show Package Contents, go into Contents folder, then into Resources folder, and find the FontMapping.plist file. Open the file in a text editor (probably a good idea to make a copy of the original file 1st). This file bsaically tells your website via iWeb which fonts to substitutes for websites. So for instance, the first font listed is AmericanTypewriter, and under the Windows line it lists its substitute as Courier. If you change Courier to Courier New, for instance, it will display Courier New.
So I went into this file and edited all of the Hoefler Text entries to substitute for Georgia if a substitute was needed.
Thanks again!! Great tip!

IDVD crashing when attempting to change font in Theme
Hi, all:
I'm writing on behalf of my 13-year-old daughter, who with a friend used iMovie HD to make a movie for a school project, and then used iDVD '08 to burn that project to a disc. She's had to edit the movie a bit, and has shared the edited version with iDVD, but is now having a problem. Here's her exact e-mail to me (I'm in Europe right now; she's at home in the US)...
"hey i had to do a few touch ups to the movie that me and jill made, and every time a tried 2 share it 2 idvd, it worked, but when i tried 2 change the font on the themes thingy, it always said, "idvd has to close unexpectedly. we apologize for the inconvenience." or something like that that made me have 2 force quit it more than once. dont panic, the new version of the movie is still saved on imovie, but i dont know whats wrong with the other thing. please email me back ASAP! xoxo"
TIA for your help & suggestions!
Bill from CT (but in France)Just an additional thought to add to Glo H's excellent recommendation.....if your daughter sends her movie to iDVD and then needs to change anything in the movie, iDVD will recognize that something has changed and ask if it should update. And you think, nice, all is well. But, if you have chapter markers in the movie, iDVD will not 'update' properly. If you don't know this, you will see iDVD going ahead and encoding and burning, but the DVD disk will not play correctly. From the chapter marker nearest the change, all further chapter selections will default to that one.
I have had this happen three times now, and it has been with iDVD8. The previous version made the changes appropriately. The last time the only change I made was to change the spelling in a title! The other changes were to delete one song in an audio track and add another.
The only way to fix it was to create a new iDVD project and drop the movie in again.
I am using iMovie 6. Maybe iMovie 8 or 9 would be different. I just wanted to caution you. I know how difficult it can be to provide your kids with assistance from a distance. Mine used to call from college and it took at least 20 minutes just to figure out what they were doing......then I had to find the answer! -
Does anyone know how to change a font in a theme in iMovie HD?
12 Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.7) 1.5gb ram 80gb diskScott,
You might experiment with creating themes without titles and then place your own titles over them.
Also, send feedback to apple to let them know of your frustration.

Is there a way to change the font in iMovie
I had a particular style I created for intro to a movie and I was trying to recreate it with the new update but can't seem to find the option. And what I do find isn't highlighted to be accessible. Am I missing/ overlooking something?
I am having the same problem as well.
The drop-down font menu is greyed out. While I havent tried each and every available title style, I have tried most....no change with any of them.

Change link font size through theme editor
Is it possible to change font size of link element using theme editor? I can't find corresponding parameter. Is it inherited from somewhere else?
Thanks in advance.Nadezhada,
If you want to change any font size of the text on Top level Navigation (top level tabs) or MasterHead(Masthead) then you can use theme editor.
But it wont work application level. For example if you want change the font size of a text in the a iView or any application, then you should look the possibility of changing that corresponding application.
