You probably have a Core Solo or Core Duo model. You can upgrade the CPU to a 64-bit Core 2 Duo in the T7200-T7600 family.
iFixit and OWC provide easy-to-follow, step-by-step guides. It's a delicate procedure, but not overly difficult. I'm all thumbs, and I have done it twice.
    Cheers!

  • Change from 32 bit to 64 bit in cs5 as default

when opening an image into photoshop cs5 from bridge, how do I set the default from 32 bit to 64 bit

If you want all images of a certain extension, like jpeg, opened in CS5 32 bit as default you have to change that in preferences/file type associations.  You will have to browse to the CS5 32 bit exe file.

  • 11.5.10 and move from 32-bit linux

Doing some moved from Physical to VM's and one of the moves is to our static 11i instance (used for reporting now).
My plan was to just use cold backup and restores (never setup rman) and then use rapid clone to fire it up on new servers using new host names.
Now I just realized the old servers were RHEL4 32-bit and the new servers were by default created on RH 5 64-bit.
I'm pretty sure I can't just fire it up on a 64-bit OS without doing some extra work like export/import on the database.
App server not sure what I would do as libraries etc. would be different also.
My thought is to get the servers rebuilt using RH5 32-bit and everything should work hopefully as long as packages are there.
Sound right or should I just go with what it runs on now (RHEL4) to be on the safe side.

  • Satellite C660 - How to change from 32 bit to 64 bit operating system?

Can some one please tell me how to change from a 32 bit to a 64 bit operating system for my Toshiba Satellite C660 Notebook?
No cds came with my notebook so I can't restore.
I installed the 32 bit when setting up by mistake and would now like to change.
    Thanks in advance

    >No cds came with my notebook so I can't restore.
In user manual you could find a info that recovery disk needs to be created using preinstalled software called Toshiba Recovery Media (disk) Creator
    >I installed the 32 bit when setting up by mistake and would now like to change.
The Toshiba image of some notebook models contains the Win 7 32bit and 64bit system.
Not sure if your image supports both versions so cannot say for sure if you would be able to switch to 64bit but try this:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
During HDD recovery procedure you should be asked what version you want to chooseof course if both versions would be available so check thisotherwise you will need to purchase an 64bit version.

  • 10g migration from 32 bit linux to 64 bit-synchronizing appsutil

I am currently attempting to migrate my TEST instance from a 32 bit Linux server to a 64 bit Linux server. In a nutshell, I have prepared the new 64 bit Linux host for running the Oracle database. I have also already run adpreclone.pl on source instance apps and db tiers. I am following a number of documents, mostly from Oracle but a few from different blogs.
    In following http://levicorp.com/2010/04/08/migration-oracle-10g-db-from-linux-32bit-to-linux-64bit/
I will list the first 5 steps. I am stuck on step 5.
    The steps are :
    1. Backup source datafile of the database.
    2. Copy the backup datafile to destination server.
    3. Install the Oracle Software in destination server.
    4. Install patchset 10.2.0.4.0 for Linux 64 bit (Patch# 6810189)
    5. Do Cloning database, create control file
The new 64 bit Linux server has the 10g database software only. So, on the target server I looked to run adcfgclone.pl , but I noticed that in the new $ORACLE_HOME there was no appsutil folder. What I did next was copy that directory from the source database server over to the target server. I have been unable to run adcfgclone.pl on target server against the db tier. Fails with:
    java.lang.NullPointerException
         at java.util.Hashtable.put(Unknown Source)
         at oracle.apps.ad.clone.util.CloneCleanser.doMigrate(CloneCleanser.java:98)
         at oracle.apps.ad.context.CloneContext.doClone(CloneContext.java:710)
         at oracle.apps.ad.context.CloneContext.main(CloneContext.java:5093)
    RC-50004: Error occurred in CloneContext:
So I can't help but wonder, was even supposed to do that - copy from one server to another? Is the appsutil directory and its contents somewhat custom relative to the host it's on?

Please post the details of the application release, database version and OS.
Are you migrating the database only?
If this is an EBS database then the supported ways are using export/import of transportable tablespaces.
If you are on 11i with 10gR2 database please refer to:

If you are on R12 with 10gR2 database please refer to:

  • Portege M750 - Change from 32-bit to 64-bit

I have just purchased a Portege M750 laptop which came preinstalled with Vista Business 32bit and seperate XP tablet on a recovery disc.
I am looking to resinstall with 64bit Vista business, then install the XP as part of a dual boot system to take full advantage of the 4GB already installed and further memory expansion in the future.
My question is this: Although the Toshiba drivers download page does not specifically list a Vista 64 bit OS, has anyone carried out a similar OS change on a portege/or different laptop and had any incompatabilty with the 32bit drivers and applications? If so, which drivers/features were problematic afterwards.
Does the "Toshiba" folder in the C:\ directory of laptop contain all the drivers and setup files required or would these all have to be downloaded from the website.
    Thanks

    Thanks for your replies.
I had called Toshiba UK and was told pretty much the same thing. They don't support 64bit and they didn't believe the 32bit drivers would work.
After a search on the internet, I came across a forum for tablet PC's, http://forum.tabletpcreview.com/ and found that although Toshiba europe doesn't support 64bit operating systems, Toshiba america does. www.toshiba.com. They also fully support all other Toshiba laptops and all windows operating systems in case anyone is needing drivers for Windows 7 or XP 64 bit.
I downloaded all of the drivers and applications from there and only had one or two conflicts afterwards with things not working. Most of these were sorted by going to manufactuers website. Webcam seems to be the only thing not working now but it might just need a full reinstallation of all the webcam driver/application software to fix...haven't quite had time to look at it yet.
I am surprised however that there isn't continuity with Toshiba offering the same driver/machine support across all the world regions. It's maybe something they'd look at sorting out in the future.
Anyways...off now to enjoy my new laptop.

  • Need to run macbook pro in 32 bit mode to run and external modem how do i change from 64 bit to 32 bit

I have a macbook pro which i presume runs in a 64 bit mode. living in a country without broadband i need to use a 32 bit modem, can i change the system to run this modem at 32 bit as it wont load at 64?

Reboot holding 3 and 2, see if your modem works.
Rebooting again sets it back to 64 bit.
If 32 bit works then your fine, for now, but eventually your going to have to go 64 bit.

  • Changing from 32 bit to 64?

i,m new to logic 9 and i noticenot all of my a.u.s seem to be available (third party) i was wondering if i should work in 64 bit mode then maybe all of my plug ins will be there?

I primarily use Logic Pro for sequencing projects and, with my current set-up, live in 64-bit mode 100% of the time. I mostly do software-based orchestral work (when I have the time to compose and sequence). Thankfully, most of *Native-Instrument's software* has been updated to 64-bit mode. This includes, of course, *Kontakt 4* which is a really big deal for me. Most of my instrumental software libraries utilizes the Kontakt 4 format. Also Garritan's Aria player (which houses the updated versions of GPO, JABB, *Steinway Piano*, etc.) now functions in 64-bit mode. Finally (because I don't play guitar at all), *Music Lab* has its guitar libraries ( RealStrat, RealLPC, and RealGuitar ) available in 64-bit mode as beta-versions which are all working fine for me (so far, knock on wood).
With the exception of one reverb effect library which I really like (Altiverb by Audio Ease), I don't need to use the 32-bit bridge. Otherwise, I use Logic's own effects plug-ins which meet my very modest needs. When I do use the 32-bit bridge, it works just fine (so far, knock on wood).
I know that there are lots and lots of popular plug-ins that people use that haven't been updated to 64-bit yet. Hopefully they will be updated. But it seems that some software companies are getting on the "64-bit bandwagon". As for me, I'm finally living happily in 64-bit land. For the most part, my modest needs are met.
Just want to share a positive experience.
