IAN BLAKEMAN you can qualify to purchase an upgrade to CS 5.5 on the Macintosh platform.  For additional information I would recommend reviewing Upgrade information page.

    Hi keltystu,
You are doing 2 things wrong:
    1. you are trying to run EXE file(installer) on MAC
    2. You are trying to run a very old application on latest configuration which is not compatible and may not fulfill the appropriate requirement.

In need to change from appleshare to mac os journaled disk format on my time capsule. How to proceed?

No Time Capsule disk can be formatted other than the automatic system in the TC itself.. You simply select erase and it will reformat the drive.
If you are referring to a USB drive.. plugged into a Time Capsule.. you must plug it into your Mac and use Disk Utility.
However you do need to understand.. appleshare is not a disk format.. it is a partition scheme.. so when you pick the disk you need to change its partition to GUID.. this is nothing to do with Mac OS journaled format.. the two are distinctly different. Also Appleshare works fine for most people.. there really is no need to change.
Anyway here is how to do it.
I have sd card I can use as example. Click on the Partition Layout.. so you can choose something else.. notice it is presently set to Master Boot Record.. but is formatted Mac OS Extended Journaled.
When you change the partition layout Options at the bottom will become active and you can change the setting. Click Options.
Choose whichever. GUID is the current system for boot drives.
None of this is relevant to the internal disk of the Time Capsule.

    Go to Solution.

you can control the hub via it's web interface.just type either 192.168.1.254 or bthomehub.home & then press enter. Btw, just because you change your p.c. or operating system, doesn't mean you need to change the hub settings

  • Lost CS4 cd, need to change from PC to MAC

Hello, i've lost my cd for Photoshop CS4. I have to change from a PC to MAC! where can i download the program?

Your CD/license was only good for installation on a PC.  CS4 is too old to cross-grade to a Mac version.  Cross-grades are only allowed for the most current release (CS6).  You could also subscribe the the Creative Cloud where both platforms are provided for with the same subscritpion.

  • Change from PC to MAC Licence?

    Hi there,
My PC has just died and I have Creative Suite 4 (CS4) for PC loaded on it, which I am very happy with. I really am not in a position to purchase a MAC version of this software, so would like to either change over to a MAC licence, or simply upgrade to a later version, on MAC platform (I have been given an old Mac from family member). Is this possible - I don't mind incurring a couple of hundred £'s to upgrade (I don't need the latest version) - but can't afford to buy new outright. I also want to own a copy on DVD, so hence why I am not interested in the Cloud! Any advice as to whether this is possible? Thanks.

    No, no and no.
    a) You are long past any upgrade eligibility.
    b) Platform swaps only apply to the latest version.
    c) Adobe stopped selling DVDs a long time ago.

  • I have just bought a mac and also have windows installed but how do i change from windows into mac?

I have just bought a mac and need to know how to change from using windows into Mac. When the mac starts up windows come up but i want to use Mac?

To set the default boot volume use the Startup Manager system preferences once you are booted back into the OSX.  Then you would only need the option key at boot time to boot into the "other" OS.

  • Changed from PC to mac and can't open some file

Mac store transferred my files from PC to mac when purchased iMac.  frequently some of those files will not open and I receive this reason:
Adobe Reader could not open 'file name.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).  This also sometimes happens when I try to open a jpg. and those sometimes are files I have added myself from photos I added.
Is there any way I can recover these?  Or should I just forget it and trash them?

Note, you don't need Adobe Reader to view PDFs in OS X. There is a built-in application called "Preview" which does an excellent job with PDFs. It is faster and it is more lightweight.
When you install Reader, it takes over PDF rendering in your web browsers and it sets itself to the default PDF reader.
This is a bit of a tangent, but I recommend you first try opening the PDFs with Preview, and see if you can open the files. If so, then it's probably a Reader issue. If not, the files are probably corrupt. You may wish to see if you can try transferring them again, if you still have access to them.
As far as JPEGs, Preview can also view them, so give it a try.
If Preview works, then definitely consider uninstalling Adobe Reader. It's a heavyweight, bloated, slow piece of crap.

  • Want to change from PC to MAC

I want to change from Windows PC to a MacIntosh computer and take my Firefox and Thunderbird with me. Is there an easy way to transfer all my bookmarks and email address list and homepage set-up?

    Yes there is! :D
For Firefox, the following articles should help you out:
[[Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles]]
[[Recovering important data from an old profile]]
[[Back up your bookmarks or move them to another computer]]
You can also set up Firefox sync to automatically transfer data from your old computer to your new one: [[How do I set up Firefox Sync?]]
As for thunderbird, [https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer https://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer] should help.

  • Photoshop CS4 Extended- change from PC to Mac and a lost licence key.

    Hi,
I have been trying to get into adobe chat to ask these two questions, however it always comes up with an 'chat is unavailable' and I'm unsure of where else to turn- as there is no email contact and no number.
I bought Photoshop CS4 Extended (Student edition) a few years ago and got a disk which i have been using on all my pc computers (deactivating old computers and re-activting new ones), However i have now changed to Mac- and the disk will not load on the mac as it is set for windows. I have then tried to download, CS4 online- but my licence key comes up with a red cross and it will not be accepted. I have looked at other chats and looked at different sites to download the cs4 (and apparently the extended cs4) however i can never find the right download or its just a read me pdf document.
I just want my CS4 photoshop on my new mac computer and unsure how to get it.
Secondly i lost a licence key when one of my family computers died- and have only had one licence key since then. I'm just wondering is there a way to get this back?rent
Is there a different way to contact adobe? Chat just doesn't seem to work for me- and i would love to get these two questions cleared up.
    Thanks,
    Rachael

Prior to the subscription models—and of course that includes CS4—the Photoshop license was platform specific, either Windows or Mac, but not both.  Your CS4 Windows serial number ("key") will never work on the Mac version.
CS4 is out of the loop as far as requesting a platform swap for a nominal fee.  It is no longer supported by Adobe in any way. A platform swap required the destruction of your PC version, so you could not use both the PC and the Mac versions.
For a time, you could have used CS4 to upgrade to CS6 for about $200, but that time window has closed by now.  Now you would have to own a legitimate version of CS5 in order to be eligible to buy an upgrade to CS6.
You can of course buy the full version of Photoshop CS6 Extended for $1,000 from the Adobe store:
    Creative Suite 6
Alternatively, you can subscribe to Photoshop CC and Photoshop CC2014  on a monthly basis without ever owning the software.  If you stop paying monthly, the software ceases to work.
The cheapest subscription is the Photography plan, which includes both Photoshop and Lightroom for $10 a month.
These are user forums; you are not addressing Adobe here.  To contact Adobe support directly:

  • Change from Win to Mac

Can I change my photoshop license from windows pc to mac? or even use it on both systems?

    Thanks 99jon.
You can activate your Creative Cloud subscription on up to two computers. The operating system can be Windows or Mac OS X.
The Creative Cloud FAQ at http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html under the Getting started section answers this too.
Can I use the software I download from Creative Cloud on multiple computers?
Yes, you can install and activate Creative Cloud desktop applications on two computers, regardless of operating system, for the individual associated with the Creative Cloud membership. See the product license agreements page for more information.

  • Iphone synch change -- from PC to Mac

I am currently synching my iphone to a PC for music and another PC for contacts/calendar, with no problems. I want to switch to a Mac for music. Assume that I have already copied my song library to the Mac. Is there anything I need to know in doing my first music synch to the Mac?
Does anyone know of any iphone issues or problems that arise when you synch to both a PC and a Mac?
Finally, I was stunned to see my daughter synch her new itouch to her macbook and synch 1500 songs in about 30-45 minutes. It takes me three hours to synch that many songs from my PC to my iphone. Have Apple computers always had that huge synch advantage over PCs, or is my experience abnormal? Thanks for your help.

Do you perhaps have only USB 1.1 on your computer whereas your daughter has USB 2.0? That would make a whole lot of difference.
Still, I can't imagine it taking that long for you to synch from your PC. Do you have multiple hard drives? It could be a mapping issue. What kind of free space do you have on your hard drive and what speed is your processor?
My wife, using an old Snowball iMac with only USB 1.1, and with her iTunes library on an external (Firewire) hard drive, can still synch her iPhone, with around 1500 songs, in around 30 minutes. Bear in mind, that you do not synch your whole library each time you synch unless you are doing a restore. You synch only those items that have changed.
My wife can also synch her 80Gb Video iPod, on which she frequently has around 60Gb of music, video, and podcasts, in around 90 minutes using USB 1.1. This most frequently involves around 16Gb of constantly changing medical and astronomy podcasts.

  • I want to change from windows to mac for cs5

I bought the upgrade for lightroom 5 and found I needed Windows 7 which I did not have. Thought now would be the time to change to Mac. How can I swap formats on the photoshop CS5 license I currently have?

    Hi Marionneedshelpplease,
There shouldn't be any problem while upgrading and switching the OS.Please go through this link : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/order-product-platform-language-swap.htm l
If you want to upgrade from CS5 Win to CS5.5 or CS6 MAC, you can do that. Its called Cross Platform Upgrade.
But as Bob mentioned, you need to contact adobe for that. It cannot be done online from adobe website.
For the best assistance, I recommend our chat support at http://adobe.ly/yxj0t6. Our chat representatives can provide a personalized experience to resolve the issue you have described.

  • HT1338 I have a canon pixma ip4300 ij printer connected to my mac G5 with an intel processor, i cannot print cd labels since i changed from the old mac OSX  processor.

I have a canon pixma ip4300 ij printer with software to print cd/dvd labels ,i origonaly had it connected to a mac with the old MAC  OSX processor, since i have changed to a mac with MOUNTAIN LION the new intel processor i cannot print the cd labels, i have downloaded software update for the printer but it still reverts back to the old software , can anyone help  thank you   Allan R

So do you have any problems using the iP4300 to print from other applications on 10.8? Just trying to get an idea of your current setup.
I ask because Easy PhotoPrint (EPP) will use your existing printer - there is no need to create a new printer. So when you open the software and select to make a Disc Label, when you get to Step 4 -  Print Settings, the software looks at your existing printer setup to check that you have a printer that will support CD/DVD printing (not all models of Canon inkjet support this).
So with regards to the problem connecting to the iP4300, is the software failing to locate a supporting printer? Can you give me a bit more info as to what is happening when you attempt to print a CD/DVD from EPP?

  • Changing from PC to Mac

I am helping a friend set up his new iMac. He already has an iPhone 3G which has previously been synced with the old PC. The phone contains a number of purchased applications. It is synchronised via MobileMe. We have initiated MobileMe on the new Mac but are now having some difficulty in synchronising the iPhone with iTunes on the Mac. When attempting to sync applications we get a warning that syncing applications will replace all the apps on the iPhone with those on iTunes (which is nil). We haven't been able to progress and would appreciate some guidance on how to sync without risking deletion of the apps from the phone. (Note: the original PC with which the phone was synced is now unavailable).

Thanks for this clarification. There is no music involved, so we are dealing only with apps. I did try to re-download but expected to find the apps tab in the Library in iTunes on the Mac. This tab is missing, presumably because nothing has been downloaded yet. I had hoped there would be a quick way to redownload all the stuff (there are about 50 apps involved, including a large navigator file). Doing it individually as described is going to be a long job.
(Note: I do not think this is relevant, but the Mac is currently connected in the UK whereas the MobileMe account is based in Greece. We have connected to the Greek iTunes Store as directed)

  • Changing from PC to Mac--which PS Elements should I get?

I have been using PSE 7 on my pc, and it has done everything I need it to do, EXCEPT for including the llight blue guidelines that allow me to easily line up images. I have Wiindows 7 installed on my new iMac, and I suppose I could move PSE 7 from my pc to the mac, and work in Windows. But I think it's time for me to get the Mac version of PSE.
As I said, the only feature I need beyond what PSE 7 has is blue guidelines. If I get PSE 8 for the Mac, do you think this is all i need? Or is there another reason to get a more recent release?
    Thank you.

You can still purchase PSE8 and other versions online from sites like Amazon however Adobe no longer provides support for those versions. In any case the price difference is small compared with PSE10; so I would recommend buying the latest version. If you then experience any difficulties with installation or operation you will get the benefit of support.
You can also download a scaled down version from the Mac App Store or iTunes Store for PSE9. However this is the Editor only and lacks the Organizer. Some Mac users find it convenient but I would not recommend it personally. The saving is only $10 compared with a purchase directly from Adobe which often comes with a $20 mail in rebate or discount from a retailer; so effectively you could be paying more. Most books and tutorials involve steps going to and from the Organizer to the Edit modes and also if you ever wish to upgrade in future Adobe will simply send you back to the app store. You will need both platforms initially.
You can download PSE10 from the following link and try it out for 30 days, free of charge. If you like it and decide to keep it, simply purchase a boxed version of PSE10 from your favorite retailer and enter the product code from the DVD box into the trial. No further installation from disk is required.
