Change graph with points located at different distance, to equidistant points graph.

In this 3D graph, the curves are positioned on the z axis according to their amplitudes. How could I do to make this graph show curves every 0,2 mV (with the same data)?

I got swamped with work.
Your data seems to have grouped the lines in two and that is why your data looks the way it does. I rewrote some of the code so that it will nudge the x values to a multiples of .2 . The code is attached below.

• How To:  Change iTunes media library location/folder

*PLEASE READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE ATTEMPTING THIS PROCESS. IT’S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE, BUT IT IS FAIRLY INVOLVED AND ENTAILS SOME RISK. THERE ARE SOME WARNINGS AT THE END.*

REQUIREMENT
Move iTunes media (music, videos, podcasts) to another folder and update the iTunes library to reference all the media from that new folder.

Example cases: Move iTunes media from C:\ drive to D:\ drive; Change iTunes folder name from Music to Media.

Note:
Special action is only necessary if the +Keep iTunes Media folder organized+ option is not selected. If this option is selected, iTunes will move media to the new location when the +iTunes Media folder location+ is changed. More info can be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1449

PROBLEM
When the location of iTunes media files changes (files are moved, folder name/drive letter changes), iTunes cannot automatically locate these files. iTunes entries can be updated to point to the new location one at a time or by deleting all entries and re-adding all files. Updating one at a time is time consuming, and deleting and re-adding causes a large amount of metadata (play count, date added, rating, etc) to be lost.

SOLUTION
The iTunes library can be exported to an XML file, modified, and re-imported.

Process:
- *Backup the iTunes library data:* Make sure iTunes is closed, and then backup the folder containing all the iTunes library data. This can normally be found in +<user-folder>\My Music\iTunes+ for Windows, or in /Users/<username>/Music/iTunes for Mac. The +iTunes Media+ and +Mobile Applications+ folders can be excluded from the backup since they will not be affected by this process. If this process does not work for some reason and you need to restore the previous state of your iTunes library, you’ll need to use this backup as the source for restoring.
- *Move iTunes media files to new location:* This may be changing which drive is used to store iTunes media files, renaming a folder, or whatever. This can be done for the whole library or for only part of it.
- *Export the iTunes library:* In iTunes, select File -> Library -> Export Library... and save the file somewhere for editing (Desktop is a good location).
- *Open Library.xml in a decent text editor:* Notepad is not recommended, since Library.xml can be very large. Some free options include PSPad, Notepad++, Smultron, and Text Wrangler.
- *Update Library.xml:* Locate the files that have changed location and update their path accordingly. The XML file has the metadata for each file labeled with XML tags. The file location is denoted by <key>Location</key>. If the whole library is being moved, a find/replace on the whole file is recommended. Once a file is located in Library.xml that needs to be updated, copy the part of the string that has changed starting with <key>Location</key>. Use that as the find parameter, and enter the replace parameter in the same format. Include as much of the string as possible to prevent unintentional replaces. Save and close the file when done.
- - - Example: Find: <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/C:/Data/iTunes/
Replace: <key>Location</key><string>file://localhost/D:/Data/iTunes/
- - - Note 1: This step may require adjustment to match your situation. You may want to count how many files need to be updated and make sure that the find/replace only changes that many or edit them by hand if the location of all files have not been changed. It shouldn’t be difficult, but it may require some thought.
- - - Note 2: Music, TV Shows, Movies, and Podcasts are stored in this file, so make sure to account for all media types. If the location of all types didn’t change, the find/replace strings will need to take that into account.
- *Remove all modified media entries from iTunes:* For any of the files that are being moved, the associated metadata must be removed from iTunes to avoid having duplicates in iTunes. This can be done by selecting all entries in iTunes that will be modified, right-clicking the entries, and choosing “Delete”. After confirming that you want to remove the selected item from your iTunes library, make sure to choose to keep the file in the iTunes Media folder if prompted.
- *Import Library.xml:* Import the modified Library.xml by selecting File -> Library -> Import Playlist... and selecting the modified Library.xml in the file open dialog that appears. Depending on the size of the iTunes Library, this could take a while (10 minutes or more).
- *Test results:* Locate a file in iTunes that has been moved, right-click on the file, and choose “Get Info”. The “Location:” field should indicate the new location of the file. Close the Info dialog and try to play the file. If the file plays, the process was successful.

_*DISCLAIMERS/ADDITIONAL NOTES*_
- I tried this out a couple of times, and it worked fine for me. I can’t guarantee it will work for everyone, but I thought I’d share since I couldn’t find instructions for this situation anywhere else.
- If the process fails, you SHOULD be able move the iTunes media files back to their old location and restore the backed up iTunes library data to the iTunes folder to restore your previous configuration.
- I wouldn’t recommend attempting this if you don’t feel comfortable with backing up your iTunes library data and editing the XML file.
- I don’t know if this process will preserve whether videos and podcasts have been played or if it will preserve the play position where items were last paused.
- If you are moving all of your iTunes media files, you’ll want to update the “iTunes Media folder location” under the “Advanced” tab in preferences. This appears to be the folder that iTunes will use for some of its basic operations, such as storing synced audio notes, Podcasts, and the “Automatically Add to iTunes” folder.
- This process duplicates playlists, probably because you are importing your entire library again. I just deleted the duplicates when I was done.

If all the media is on one drive and you're not letting iTunes manage it then you can achieve the "portable" status simply by moving the library files high enough up the tree, i.e. the root of the drive if necessary, letting iTunes know where the nominal iTunes media folder is and then moving the library to the new drive keeping the relative paths from the library files to each distinct set of media folders unchanged. Personally I don't like iTunes cutting my file & folder names short, but the advantages of a portable library mean that I'm quite happy to organise my media inside the iTunes Media folder, albeit largly on my own terms. Indeed all my non-iTunes multimedia is now also organised in the same folders. The only media files iTunes organises, temporarlily, are rips & downloads apart from active Podcasts whose folder names I leave unchanged. Everything else gets sorted just the way I want it - full length filenames, different character replacements, folder art etc. I used to do it by hand, deleting, tweaking & reimporting, but these days I use a custom script which does it all automatically - renaming files just as I want and reconnecting iTunes to the newly moved file so that no iTunes-only metadata is lost.
There are similar XML-editing how-tos elsewhere on the web, I just wanted to make the point that there may still sometimes be a way to achieve the desired result which isn't quite as complicated but nevertheless leaves the user fully in control of their file structure.
Anyway, at least you took the trouble to find a method that works for you first. There are sadly too many tales of woe on these boards from people who've moved all their files around first only to discover that they've broken their libraries and can't work out how to undo the damage.

iPad hacked from Words With Friends. Game suddenly appears in control.  Not responsive. Suddenly my tiles change, then the points quadruple. I deleted the app, but would really like to continue playing with my family.  How can I get rid of this hacker and or virus on my iPad?

Since it has happened previously, it is likely someone you know or who has access to your systems, or has access to recovery information with that game vendor. I seem to recall that vendor being called out for account security issues in the past, but can't say for sure.On the other hand, the symptoms you describe do not necessarily mean you have been "hacked", could be just that something is amiss with the app.
You may wish to reach to the app vendor and see what sort of support it offers.

• Mounting multiple directories with same name on different severs to a single mount point on another server

We have a requirement where in we have multiple solaris servers and each solaris server has a directory with the same name.
The files in these directories will be different.
These same name directories on multiple severs has to be mounted to a single directory on another sever.
We are planning to use NFS, but it seems we can not mount multiple directories with same name on different severs to a single mount point using NFS, and we need to create multiple mount points.
Is there any way we can achieve this so that all the directories can be mounted to a single mount point?

You can try to mount all these mount points via NFS in one additional server and then export this new tree again via NFS to all your servers.
No sure if this works. If this works, then you will have in this case just an additional level in the tree.

• Trigger Between two DB located on different Server

Hi Everyone,
According to my project requirement I need your help to create a trigger on one table employee of my 10g DB located on server 172.128.1.62, which will trigger for any Delete, Update and Insert and update the same on its duplicate table located on different server(172.128.1.201).
Eg:
Table EMPLOYEE (on 172.128.1.62) refer as A
SrNo        E_Name      Salary
1             Fizzz           5000
2             Albert        8000
3             John          6500
Table EMPLOYEE (on 172.128.1.201) refer as B
SrNo        E_Name      Salary
1             Fizzz           5000
2             Albert        8000
3             John          6500
Now If I update table A and change salary of John from 6500 to 7000 and delete Employee Fizzz from table A
Then I need a trigger to get fired and update the same in table B
After table A updated table B should look like:
Table EMPLOYEE (on 172.128.1.201) refer as B
SrNo        E_Name      Salary
1             Albert        8000
2             John          7000
I already scratch my head but did not find anything, Now this is became very critical requirement, Please somebody help me to achieve this task.
Thank you very much,
Fizzz. Edited by: Fizzz on Sep 22, 2011 4:36 PM

I would not consider doing it myself with triggers. It will practically be guaranteed that at some point in time your data in B will by out of sync with A.
There are several methods of doing replication. At least two technologies can be chosen from:
[url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10706/toc.htm]Advanced replication
[url http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10705/toc.htm]Streams replication
Both can be setup in various ways ranging from simple two-database one-way replication that refreshes periodically (for example a fast refreshable materialized view) to multi-database multi-way replication of complete schemas.
We have had success with relatively simple materialized views for one-way replication of tables from one database to another. Read chapter 3 in the Advanced replication guide ;-)

• Multiple FTP locations on different drives in Server

I've been working to set up an older Power Mac as a location to back-up my ReadyNAS. The ReadyNAS has an automated function for FTP back-up to an FTP location on my network.
I've put two 1.5TB drives in the OS X server. I have about 1.7TB of data on the ReadyNAS. I had hoped to backup about half of that to each of the drives in the Power Mac Server.
However, I can't figure out how to set up 2 FTP Share Point locations, one on each of the drives, so that I can set the ReadyNAS to back up some of its directories to one drive and other directories to the other.
The data is actually mostly static. Once I do the initial backup the incremental ones (what's changed) will be relatively small.
Does anyone know how to set up multiple FTP share points on different OS X Server drives?
Thank you in advance for any enlightenment.

Thank you for the quick response. My problem is how to have the system "know" which backup job it is and switch (without user intervention) to the right Share Point and drive.
I have 6 shares on the NAS with ~760GB and would like to have those backed up to Drive 1. Then when the job starts with the 1 share with 800GB I want that to back up to Drive 2.
That's what I can't figure out how to do automatically. It seems like you have to manually go in and change the Share Point and then manually start the job.
Is there a way to do that in OS X Server without me getting involved?
Thanks again,
BflatBlues

• Want to change the default save location- users have networked home dirs

I am doing some work for a school which is still using iMovie HD because it allows them to save their movie projects wherever they want. The issue is that iMovie 08 and 09 do not allow you to change the location in which they save their movies. Currently all users/students have network home folders, so their home directory, documents, etc all pull across the network. All students are limited to 1GB of space, and the system is an older G4 Server- 2GHz with 1GB of RAM and 2x 500GB hard drives. Since the students can make some large projects transferring that data back and forth can kill the server. Currently they are staying with iMovie HD so they can save it to the local hard drive, and when the student comes back in for class they sit at the same machine- thus giving them access to their stored movie files.
This summer they plan to upgrade both Xserves, but again internal storage in the Xserve is a joke and in my opinion not planned out properly. Which might require them to use one of the Apple Promise RAID units- major financial burden on a school.
I wanted to see if there was a way to change the default save location for iMovie 08 or 09 to the local storage rather then the "Home" folder for each user.
Thanks so much!

wrong info.
iM08/09 has a different file concept than iMHD6.
Both versions allow to store Events (=huge files) 'anywhere' to usb or firewire connected, hfs(+) formatted harddrives. the Project files (=small files) can be de-located from 'internal' drive with vers09, for 08 you have to use a socalled symLink to de-locate Project files.

• Changing Airdrop Default Save Location

Hello All,
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. Simple question...
There has to be a way to change the default save location of AirDrop. Has anyone stumbled across this?
~ lbcSSA

Hi Jeffrey,
your solution is nice for people who don't care about spoiling their system disk, which I agree must be numerous today.
But would you possibly have another suggestion to avoid documents sent via Airdrop to end up at all on the System disk ? I mean, just as one can do it for the Safari or Mail downloads, where you can define a default folder located on a different hard disk ? I'm with a MacPro, and System disk is intended only for... system, not files, so to avoid fragmentations issues from multiple erase actions of unnecessary files.
Is it possible that Apple writes "default folder" and forgot that "default" means one can opt for an alternative solution ??? Has Apple gone that un-professional ? Please tell me I've just missed a line somewhere... and that I don't have to rely once more on a third party app...
Cheers !

• SBS 2011 GPO for changing the default save location for Word/Excel 2013 not working

So this is a strange one. I've got an SBS 2011 server that's the only domain controller in the org. I've created a GPO to change the default save location for Excel 2013 and Word 2013 using the Office 2013 ADMX files which were installed to the PolicyDefinitions
folder.
The GPO (U-Office2013 Default Save Location) only contains:
1. User Configuration - Microsoft Excel 2013/Excel Options/Save - Default file location - Enabled - Z:\
2. User Configuration - Microsoft Word 2013/Word Options/Advanced/File Locations - Default file location - Enabled - Z:\
The GPO is linked at the OU that contains my users for my SBS organization.
When I do a gpupdate /force on a windows 7 system with office2013 installed, and then run a gpresult/rsop, the policy appears to be applied successfully as it lists my GPO under the Applied GPOs list on the workstation:
Applied GPOs
Default Domain Policy dyndns.local AD (24), Sysvol (24)
U-Office2013 Default Save Location domain.local/SBSusers AD (6), Sysvol (6)
In the gpresult report, the applied settings appear under:
Administrative Templates
Extra Registry Settings
software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\excel\options\defaultpath Z:\ U-Office2013 Default Save Location
software\policies\microsoft\office\15.0\word\options\doc-path Z:\ U-Office2013 Default Save Location
BUT, when I go to the workstation, and check office->options-Save-default file path, the path has not been changed to what the GPO is pushing.
The strange thing is that in my test environment running 2008R2 server and Win7 with Office 2013 and identical settings the default save location is applied and works as expected.
Any ideas?
I've already tried re-installing the ADMX templates and re-created the GPO's several times.
I should also note that other GPO's on the SBS2011 server such as the folder redirection GPO work as expected on the same windows 7 system. It just appears to be an issue with the default save location in office2013 and other Office 2013 related GPOs which
utilize the recently added ADMX template that don't seem to be working for me.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Justin,
Thanks for your reply. I have tried several different user accounts (all have local admin privileges to the workstation) with the same issue. The default save path does not get applied from the GPO to any of the users i've tried. Here's the steps I took
per your suggestion:
1. log on as a user who has never logged onto the workstation before.
2. run gpupdate /force (entered y for yes when prompted to log off).
3. Log back in as the user and open Office and check the default save path. It has not been changed to match the GPO setting.
4. Check rsop to see if the policy was applied. Rsop states the gpo was applied successfully.
I have attached the gpsvc.log file from a the session described above. The GPO Guid in question is: {DC3C93EC-7C28-48E9-BA38-FCA1E275A207}. Its common name is: U-Word 2013 Default Save Location. It's only setting is:

I have an airport express and want to know how to set up two different wireless networks. One with 5GHZ and one with 2.4GHZ so different devices can connect to either. I have an iphone 4 that will not connect to 5ghz.
thank you!

Your AirPort Express is already providing two separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but each band is using the same wireless network name.
This is the default setup for the AirPort Express, which is recommended for most users. The theory here is that devices will automatically connect to the best quality signal based on their capabilities and distance in relation to the AirPort Express.
It is possible to assign a different name to the 5 GHz band, and then "point" devices at that network to connect. Some users swear by this option.....(I am not one of them).... but you might want to give it a try to see how it works for you.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
Click on the AirPort Express
Click Edit in the smaller window that appears
Click the Wireless tab at the top of the next window
Click Wireless Options near the bottom of the next window
Enter a check mark next to 5 GHz Name.....which will automatically add "5 GHz" to the network name....so you can identify it
Click Save, then click Update and wait a full minute for the Express to restart
Now you will need to "point" your 5 GHz capable devices at the 5 GHz network name.  2.4 GHz devices will connect to your "other" network name.

I have a school ipad with iCloud using a different ID (my school email address) . I am leaving and want to buy my own ipad and transfer all my data and docs to my personal iCloud account but don't know how to do this without deleting all data and photos?

Heya Katie!!
So, the article you have there, HT4895, is pretty good. Just look at the FAQ section of it.
But basically, you will want to create a backup on your computer through iTunes...Just plug your current iPad into it and make sure your iPad and iTunes are logged in with the same Apple ID. At that point, just create a backup.
When you get your new iPad, and before you plug it in or set it up, follow the directions in this link to change your Apple ID. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621?viewlocale=en_US
Once you have that done, plug your new iPad into your computer to sync up with iTunes. Follow the directions for Restore from Backup and it should bring all that info back to your new iPad.
And changing your Apple ID email info will allow you to have your own!!! This should solve all your issues and GL!!!

• Template.xsn. Access to locations on different site collections is blocked for security reasons

I am using sharepoint 2010 onpremise.
I created a custom list, content type and columns. After this I go to the list and click on the infopath button in the ribbon to customize the form. I changed the form and published to the server.
Now I get this error when I go to some page where I have added a infopath webpart:
The following location is in a different site collection:
http://www.myCompany.nl/someSubsite/Lists/VraagEnAntwoord/VraagEnAntwoord/template.xsn. Access to locations on different site collections is blocked for security reasons. For more information, contact your site administrator.
This website has anonymous access.
I have googled and found many people with this problem, but I dont find some solution. Someone talk about create a template from infopath and then publish it to a content type. I dont understand this solution. Can someone help?

You are actually running an older version of Firefox (8). You should update to Firefox 9.0.1 and see if that helps

• Location is different in Assignments and OTL Entry form

In OTL Time Accounting-->Entry/Validation/Approval form, the location is different compare with Assignments Location.

The article on Metalink tells basically this:
Add the following Tag in the basejini.htm file found in the
"%ORACLE_HOME%\forms<xx>]\server" folder.
<PARAM NAME = "mapFonts" VALUE = "yes" >
which in my case maps MS Sans Serif fonts, that we use in Forms, to Java 1.1 Dialog font (small, ugly, and unusable).
What I've done in addition to the above and seems to be working is:
Edit following file:
$ORACLE_HOME/forms/java/oracle/forms/registry/Registry.dat
Change the mapping of the font (MS Sans Serif in my case) from the Java 1.1 font to the actual font you are using (Dialog to MS Sans Serif in my case).
To clarify font mapping entries after the change in my case are:
default.fontMap.appFontnames=Courier New,Courier,courier,System,Terminal,Fixed,Fixedsys,Times,Times New Roman,MS Sans Serif,
Arial
default.fontMap.javaFontnames=MonoSpaced,MonoSpaced,MonoSpaced,Dialog,MonoSpaced,Dialog,Dialog,Serif,Serif,MS Sans Serif,San
sSerif
Hope this helps.
