Change grey background color to white

In Numbers I have grey background color in some cells, when the rest of the sheet is white background. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks.

"Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong. "
Hi Wot',
Probably nothing. The default 'blank' template in Numbers contains a table which has one Header Row and one Header Column. The grey fill is there to draw your attention to the fact that these cells are different from the 'regular' cells in the rest of the table.
If you are starting a new document and you do not want any header rows or header columns, I would suggest starting with a Plain style table.
From the Blank template there are at least three routes to a Plain table:
Open a Blank document from the Templates Chooser
Click on cell A1
Go Table (menu) > Delete column
Go Table > Delete Row
You now have a table with no header columns and no header rows
Open a Blank document from the Templates Chooser
Click on any cell to activate the table.
Go Table (menu) > Header Rows > 0
Go Table > Header Columns > 0
You now have a table with no header columns and no header rows.
Open a Blank document from the Templates Chooser
Click on the Table 1 icon in the Sheets list to select the tabel.
Press delete.
Click the Tables button in the Toolbar and select Plain from the pop-up menu.
You now have a table with no header columns and no header rows
For more information on how Header Rows and Header Columns differ from regular cells, see the Numbers '09 User Guide, Chapter 3, Working with Tables, with particular attention to the section on Working with Rows and Columns in Tables, starting (in the edition I have) at p 56.
You can, and should, download the guide through the Help menu in Numbers.

  • Change grey background color of acrobat reader application (not background color of page)

    My new laptop has a very reflective screen. Especially dark background colors make me see the windows behind me (and people passing by). When using a white (lighter) background this problem does not occur.
    When reading all day texts with acrobat reader, there is alot of "distraction" because outside the page there is a dark grey area with reflections and moving images. Maximizing the text to 400% so everything is white is not a comfortable option.
    Is it possible to change this background somehow, preferrably to white, or light grey? If there is not a standard option, would it be possible to change some settings in the windows registry?

    Unfortunately no, it's not possible. However, you can simply resize the window so that the underlying desktop color is visible...

    How can I change the background of a running webpage on my own. Example Facebook I want to change its background color from white to black just in my view, not for all. Cause I really hate some site with white background because as I read for an hour it aches my eyes but not on those with darker background color.

    You can use the NoSquint extension to set font sizes (text/page zoom) and text colors on web pages.

  • Anyone using Simple Viewer?  How do I change the background color?

    To match my website better, I would like to change the background color to white. Any ideas... Hopefully automatically?

    Hello TandA4,
    You need to open up the folder you created. Locate the file called "index.html" and open it with text edit. Find the following three pieces of text:
    background-color: #181818;
    <param name="BGCOLOR" value="#181818" />
    scale="noscale" bgcolor="#181818" type="application/
    In each case change the "181818" (or what other numbers or digits are there) with six F's. It should look like: background-color: #FFFFFF.

  • I have trouble reading in Black and White. changing the background color for all

    I have trouble reading in Black and White. On my PC I can change the background  color (and I am not just talking about for a word or pages document) but for eveything so anything that was a white background I can put in what ever color I like but it still prints in Black and white.. I can't see how to do this on the Macbook air. on my PC I do this in display. Sort of putting colored film over the screen I dont know what to do. Can anyone help?

    Hello Floridamacbookpro,
    You may be interested in the 'invert colors' Accessibility feature. This can be invoked by pressing the Control, Option, Command, and 8 keys on your keyboard. This only affects your display, and does not have any affect on printed items.
    Mac OS X displays inverted image colors (white on black, reverse type)

    The new operating system (IOS 7) changed the background color of the Photos App (Camera Roll) from black to white.  How do I change the color back to black?

    You can't. Sorry.

    You can tell apple that you'd like it and see if they respond....eventually. (you don't get responses from your feedback mails but they have been known to issue changes that users have asked for, such as the ability to mass delete apps)

  • How do I change to background color in the open tabs; currently grey with black text, hard to read.

    hi user505516
    You could try "Tools" > "Preferences..." > "Code Editor" > "Syntax Colors" and from the "Available Styles" list select "Default plain text" and from the "Background Color" dropbox select the color you prefer.
    (tip : You can use "Your Control Panel" to make your name visible in forum posts.)

  • How can i change the background color in the mobile windows adobe reader app? i want to change it from black to white but don't know how.

    really want to change the background color of my documents in the mobile app. ive tried to search the answer online, in blogs and other various 'life hacks' blogs or articles, but so far everyone is talking about the desktop version. i really want to figure this out. is there even an option for the mobile version for windows? the only editing icons when a document is open are: export, home, make public, search in document, highlight/strikethrough/underline/comment and continuous/single view. if there isnt an option to edit background color, can i suggest that the makers of the windows mobile version make one, and make it fast please! any help would be appreciated. -CHANGE BACKGROUND COLOR

  • WAD - Portal - Changing row background colors

    Hi,
    We are creating web templates and posting to portal 6.0. I would like to know how to change the background colors for the rows for the output of the analysis item. Right now the default colors are grey and white (alternating rows). I did a search in the forum and it appears that there is no straightforward way to do it, with some suggesting we do it directly in the portal. Can someone provide detailed step by step instructions on how to change the background colors for rows for query output.
    Thanks,
    Anita S.

    You can modify the CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) in either Portal or WAD.  If you change it in Portal, it will be global for all reports viewed in the portal.
    For WAD, there is a general template parameter which contains the path to the .CSS file.  This CSS file is located in the Mime Repository (SE80).  Make the change to the css file in the mime repository and you're good to go.
    If you change the Portal CSS file, there is a wizard that can help you define colors for tables and preview them.

  • How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.

    How can I change fullscreen background color, so that it is the same when viewing on mac and iPad? I want this to be able to use MathType in widget text.
    As an example, html widget has white background on iPad, and black on mac. The same goes for interactive widget.
    The MathType text inserted is inserted as a image, and will have the same color when in fullscreen as when not. So I need the textcolor to be the same in both views. Anyone know how to fix this?

    We're still not communicating. This is why I wanted an example .iba.
    Here's a re-creation of my own, going off what you described. You said "all html widgets and all gallery widgets" have this problem. So I inserted a blank HTML widget and a blank Gallery widget, and typed into both. Inserted a MathType equation into both. I don't see any difference when I preview it on my Mac compared to the preview on the iPad. I want to help, but I can't help if I can't duplicate the issue.
    I've attached the screen shots and the .iba file [link to .iba file].
    Feel free to email me directly at bobm at dessci dot com. If you're uncomfortable giving some information here, tell me anything you want in email. I work for the "MathType company", Design Science.

  • How to change the background color of a sequence?

    I'm using Premiere Pro CS5 on Win7 x64.  I've imported a JPEG that's a different size than my 1920 x 1080 frame.  The background of this JPEG is white, but the background of the sequence is black (by default), so the borders of the JPEG make it stand out.  I want the JPEG to blend into the sequence background by making the sequence background white.  How can I change the sequence background color?  Thanks.

    Jim and Ann are correct. I can see where someone used to After Effects might ask that question though because in AE you can change the background color of the composition. Same with Photoshop.
    However, I think it would confuse things if changing the background color were to be allowed in Premiere Pro. Black tells me something. I suppose white could tell me the same thing, but at this time it is not possible in Premiere Pro.

  • How can I change the background color in the inbox?

    The background color in my inbox (well, all mailboxes) is white. A yellow background would make the existing black text a lot easier to read. How can I change the background color in the inbox?

    Themes work in Thunderbird - duggabe was not refering to Firefox.
    Another useful addon is theme and font changer:
    * https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/
    However, Thunderbird allows you to modify all sorts of things.
    Make hidden files and folders visible:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    Help > Troubleshooting Information
    Click on 'show Folder' button
    a window opens shwoing profile folder name
    Close Thunderbird now - this is important
    In the profile name folder, Create a new folder called '''chrome''' - note the spelling
    It should be in the same place as the 'Mail' folder.
    see first image below.
    Open Notepad
    Can be located : Start > Programs > accessories
    Copy everything shown between the lines below.
    Paste into Notepad.
    Save as '''userChrome.css''' - note the spelling (edit updated - this was a typo error)
    This should be saved in the '''chrome''' folder.
    see second image below.
    Restart Thunderbird.
    I have chosen a yellow for you
    <pre>
    #f6f58c = a yellow....it is a hex code for a colour.
    </pre>
    You can change it if required. Remember when updating anything in the profile folders, you must close Thunderbird first.
    More info on colours.
