Change grid results background in ssms 2014?

can you change the background color in ssms 2014? every time I try in enviro font and color>grid results it only changes the font color and not the background color.

yes im changing the item backgroun property and it stays white no matter what color I pick. I also restart ssms.
This is a bug which was never fixed. It was reported for SQL 2005 and also SQL 2012.
I think issue persists in SQL 2014 also.

I tried in my SQL 2012 version. Font - Yellow, Backgroud - Red.
For NULLS it shows correctly but doesn't show for Non-NULL

Also the pic does not "tile" and has to be very big if you are going to want it as the background during a Scroll.

After installing SSMS 2014 I can no longer add a source or destination in SSIS VS2010

I really don't know what is happening but I have been using VS2010 and SSMS 2014 for a couple of months now with no issue. Yesterday when I opened an SSIS package that I had created in VS2010 I was no longer able to add a source or destination to any of
the data flows. I can copy an existing one and change the properties but when I try to drag it from the tool bow I get the following error -

No one here could figure out what the exact issue and how to fix it so my pc was rebuilt. Everything was working just fine until I installed SSMS 2014. Now I am right back where I started.
I really need to know what is going on because I wasted an entire day on trying to figure out this issue and I have already tried reinstalling/repairing VS2010. Removing SSMS 2014. Registering OleDbSrc.dll but get an error when trying to do that.

Somebody on my team had this issue. If I recall correctly you need to re-install SSDT 2012

Window 8.1 / Windows 8.1 Pro compatibility differences connecting to remote SSAS 2005 via SSMS 2014

Hi,
Should there be a difference of compatibility between Windows 8.1 (laptop A) and Windows 8.1 Pro (laptop B) when connecting to a SSAS instance on a remote 2005 SQL Server via SSMS 2014?
I am able to connect to the SSAS from laptop A without having set any permissions explicitly, or otherwise. While on laptop B it cannot connect, stating"Forcibly Closed by Remote Host" as the error. I have run a SQL Server Profiler trace, laptop A
logs in as Administrator, again no permissions were set explicitly, compared to laptop B that attempts to login as anonymous.
I also tested connecting to the SSAS via Excel 2013 from both laptops. Laptop A connects without issues whereas Laptop B gives an error pertaining to the transport layer.
Why is this happening? What is the problem and how do I go about fixing it?

By default, SSAS only support windows account. Have you configured the HTTP access to SSAS? If yes, what’s the authentication setting? Can you connect to SSAS via the URL in SSMS? Anyway, just for test purpose, change the authentication to windows Integrated,

ITunes 9 grid view background color?

It seems iTunes 9 has changed the background color of grid view from black to white. How can I change it back? I can't find anything in preferences or the iTunes help manual. Thank you for the help

The dark Grid View background was just one thing.
The new iTunes store look doesn't do it for me either. It's just a sea of icons on white background. Everything drowns in a blur of color specks...

Change grid size together with the paths sticking to it

Hi! This is my first question in the Adobe forums!
I have made a simple score in my own music notation with the help of the grid in AI CS7. However, I set the wrong page size and now I have to everything over again. My question is: Can I fit thwe whole thing on an art board with a smaller size along with the grid? I want to keep everything but the size of the art board. So how do I change the grid ALONG with the objects and lines that are "stuck" to it? I hope my question is clear. Let me know if it isnt and I will clarify.

I think I fixed it. I will try later today to set the grid size the same as the width of the page and subdivide it this way. It would solve it if I could SET the artboard width to be anything: 1cm, 30cm, 100000 cm without changing the size of it.

As mentioned, the grid is a rather fluid thing, if it is the one I presume so you cannot rely on it for alignment and the like.

Yes it sounds like you have a corrupted preference file.
The setting you make in individual programs get saved to a Preference file in your Users/Library/Preferences folder.
All you have to do is drag out the old file to the desktop, reboot and load the program and the preference file gets rebuilt without your preferences which you reset.
For your case I beleive the preference file is
com.apple.desktop.plist

SSMS 2014 File Extensions

Why can't I associate file extensions within SSMS 2014? I want .TAB, .PRC, .UDF, etc. to open as a .SQL file would, i.e. connected to a server and with appropriate syntax colour coding.
Adding an extension in Tools\Options\Text Editor\File Extensions has no effect. This is using Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 12.0.2000.8.

That's not the problem. Files such as .PRC or .UDF will open within SSMS 2014 when double-clicked from Explorer, however they don't have syntax colouring, don't offer the option to specify a server connection and can't be executed, (not surprising
if they're not connected to a server!).
This looks like a bug that was previously reported in SQL 2012, which if this is the case, is frankly pathetic from MS. Every organisation I've worked for differentiate their database object types by these kind of file extensions, so my current employer
is certainly not unique in this. IF this can't be resolved I'll have to pay for something that will work, such as Quest's Toad product, not ideal when I've already paid a huge sum of money for SQL Server.

How to block changes of desktop background image

I manage a 30-computer Mac lab in a public high school and I would like to prevent users from changing the desktop background image.
As far as I know, there are two ways to change the desktop background image: through System Preferences and by right-clicking an image and selecting Set Desktop Picture.
Blocking System Preferences is easily done through Parental Controls.
But how do I prevent the right-click, Set Desktop Picture method of changing the desktop image?
You can imagine the kinds of images that end up as desktop backgrounds in a high school computer lab.

You might try going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts. In the left pane select Services, then uncheck the item "Set Desktop Picture" under Pictures in the right pane. Once that's done, block that prefs pane.

As a Professional Photographer, I chose to buy an IPad 4 for only one reason and that was the amazing color and clarity of the Photo Gallery as a mobile Portfolio.
Originally the background color of the IPad 4 Gallery was BLACK and this facilitated the photos greatly, photos look better and stand out better on a BLACK background. White backgrounds cause a glare eminating from the edges of the photo and cause iris in our eyes to close down, degrading the quality of the photo being viewed.
I updated to ios 7 and now my IPad 4 has a WHITE background, which is unacceptable for viewing photos.
HOW DO I CHANGE the WHITE background on the Photo/Gallery/COLLECTIONS to BLACK?
Apple should ALWAYS give USERS/OWNERS of their products control of such details. IT'S JUST GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Now if I can just get the White Background to STAY BLACK, this might not be as painful as I feared.
My IP4 does lag slightly, but not enough to set fire to it yet.
The gallery/COLLECTIONS/ALBUMS are the most important thing to me.

SSMS 2014 crashes on startup - Windows 8.1

I had it working briefly, and I suspect some Visual Studio Nuget packages may have screwed it up. Both SSMS 2014 and Visual Studio 2013 stopped working at the same time, although I managed to fix VS by uninstalling and reinstalling. The same
has not worked with SQL Server.
On startup of SSMS I get the message "SQL Server Management Studio has stopped working".

I have also tried to install SQL Server Express but get an complaint about "Validation errors no the page", and the detail is that all the features are installed.

You need not pay to get the fix from Microsoft. It would be refunded back to you when case is closed. You need to tell this to engineer that the case is only to get a fix and need to be marked as "non-decrement"
But, if you need any troubleshooting assistance, then it would be a paid support.

Can't Change Lock Screen Background Image and User Account Picture in Windows 8.1.

I am running Windows8.1 Single Language with windows activated. Upgraded from Window 8 to Windows 8.1.
Lenovo Y410p.
4th generation Intel® Core™ i7-4700MQ (2.40GHz 1600MHz 6MB) with 16GB RAM.
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT750M 2GB .
I tried all methods that I found on web included :

First of all, please run the command slmgr.vbs /dlv
After that, check the License status if it is licensed.
Is there any error message when you couldn't change lock background or this option just grey out?

Unzip and and copy the .dvtcolortheme files into /Users/YourUsername/Library/Developer/XCode/UserData/FontAndColorThemes Create the directory if it doesn't exist.
If you can't find the Library directory you can get to it by using Finder's "Go to Folder..." option under "Go" or press shift + cmd + G then type the path.
