I have a 2010 Mac Book Pro that I just downloaded the neww OS X Lion for the upgrades ext... I haven't had any other problems exept that before I downloaded the Lion my Mac would recognize my external hard drive (WD passport). And now it doesn't, I even go to the finder and it doesn't even show up under "computer" to make sure there isn't anything wrong with my external hard drive I plugged it into another mac that doesn't have Lion and it would work. Please Help because my external drive has everything 1TG of everything...

Hi,
I had already checked in Finder's Pref's for the check mark for External Disks and it is checked. That is for external disks to show up on your desk top.
So still no luck for my Mac to reconize my external hard drive with this new OS X Lion Program. Should I just take my computer into the apple store?

I am trying to install a program on my Mac Book Pro Retina from a Apple SuperDrive. Every time I run the installer, it says I do not have enough memory to install. However, I definitely have enough memory (186.74 GB). Any ideas why?

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

Hi I'm using a Mac Book Pro with a separate apple keyboard (wired). Randomly the keyboard will make a thudding noise like a key is depressed and stuck (which it isn't) which then stops when the keyboard is unplugged. I've tried rebooting, plugging it into another port and unplugging my mouse from it and it hasn't solved the issue. I also can't pin point when it does it, it seems to be random so sometimes, like now it's fine and then others it does it every few minutes. I'm reluctant to throw the keyboard out if there is a chance it can be fixed. Any ideas?

You cannot use any additional devices on the keyboard's USB ports when used in this fashion (except perhaps ONE low power Apple mouse). Anything more draws too much power and may make the keyboard malfunction. In general, keyboards do not tend to complain about low power, they just stop working properly.

Try the advice here. I had the same problem and it worked for me.
You have to delete the "SC Info" folder from /Users/Shared. You will have to use Terminal to enable you to see this folder first. Make sure iTunes is not running when you delete the "SC Info" folder
There is an article from Apple on this here. The "SC Info" folder contains iTunes authorization information.
I did this two weeks ago and iTunes accepted by login. I haven't been asked for my AppleID or password since.

All right, I'm new on Mac. Just bought a Mac Book Pro, Time Capsule, iPhone 5 and Apple TV!
I'm using my TC as an external HD, since I allready have everything backed up on another non-wifi HD.I've already imported some files from the TC to iTunes.
When I go to iTunes on my Apple TV it says that "THERE ARE NO SONGS IN THIS LIBRARY". Do I need to link my Mac Book to Apple TV or something? Everything is connected to the same wifi network.
Any help?

CD/DVD drive mac book pro

I tried to put a cd in and it just instantly spat it out. i thought it was the cd but it worked on my friends macbook pro. I watched a movie on it not two weeks ago and it worked perfectly now it doesnt even take anything. any suggestions??

I think your Superdrive is toast, maybe because you (or someone else) picked up your MBP by its SuperDrive corner with one hand while a CD or DVD was inside. Happened to me once, my girlfriend was the culprit, and after that, the drive would take any support for a quick spin, then spit it out. Tried every tack (Q-tips, compressed air, cleaning CD, etc...), nothing would work. I finally sent it back under Apple Care, and they changed the drive.

I have purchased a 3TB external hard drive. I took it to the apple store. They moved all of my iTunes to the external hard drive. I still keep getting the message that my start up disc is full. Please help.

What else can I do. All of itunes should be on the external hard drive. I think 3TB is plenty of space. Could it be my iphoto? I moved all those to the external hard drive too.
