Change HDD on SAP Server

Hi,
I´m with the next doubt about the change of a HDD because thera are a error on disk. But in this disk, there are operating system and SAP system (sap binaries).
What will be the process for to make the change?
Homogeneous system copy?

Don't forget, the new disk needs to be at least as big as the one that is still there. If it is smaller, the array will not work. If is bigger, it will only use as much space as is on the existing disk.(e.g. if the existing disk is 73 GB and you put in 146 GB, it will only use 73 GB, if you put in 37 GB, it will not work)
Normally the array will build quite quickly and it can be done while the server is still running. That's assuming that the first disk is still working OK. If it is not... hopefully you do have a backup?

Your request is not clear. What do you mean by added to the domain?
But if you have connected exisiting sap system on the network (ABAP+JAVA) then visual administrator should work as it is. Please check your network connections are ok.

Finding the folder on the SAP server

My requirement is about finding the physical folders and files on SAP server. If any body could give me any input for that, i would appreciate it!!
I need to copy the files from my C: drive to SAP Office Shared Folder. Actually I have three folders on SAP Office Shared Folder (Customer, Vendor and Personnel). the documents are being scanned and sent to my PC. from here I have a program that runs nightly and copies those pdf scanned files to application server. I need to ascertain the path of those Customer, Vendor and Personnel folder on SAP Application server.

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working... As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop... Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...

Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...

Two SAP server on one System

Hi All,
I have SAP MI 7.0 Installed with OS MS Windows 2003, DB MS SQL 2005. I want to Install SAP Solution Manager SR 3 on same System. Please help me to know how can i do this ? what are changes required on existing server so that both SAP server component can run at same time.
If any guide for same , please share link of tht.

The installation guides and documentation will give you the information you need.
Basis administration is not easy work and it requires study. Asking for shortcuts on SDN is not a substitute for that work. The main reason you have not received further replies to this thread is that it is inappropriate for you to ask and expect "shorcut" instructions from professionals who have "paid their own dues" through study and hard work. I would also think that your employer might think twice if they understood that a Forum was where they were going to receive their instructions for a complex, technical implementation.

Is that a big changes for changing IP for SAP in HA Env (Clustering)?

Hi all,
Is that a big changes for changing the SAP servers IP address in HA (Cluster Environment)?
In my understand, if that is not a HA environment we can just change the SAP server from old IP address to a new IP address if the DNS configured fine.
Does anyone have experience of changing IP address in HA environment? Is the Logical IP address has to be changed also?
Would appreciate if anymore can give some guideline for this.

Hi,
Theorically, you shouldn't face with any problem unless you use IP number instead of hostname, in the configuration steps. In practice, I faced many problems when I change the physical IP number, on the system. Additionally, you may face with a problem at the network switch configurations, also.

I have only CI (Central Instance) on my A host and My database is on X host
now there is a requirement for me to move my SAP server to another host called B.
Is it possible?
If yes then What it means I have to take separate license bcoz for taking sap license we must mention Hardware Key which is of A Host, Now i m changing on Host B
I m using 4.7 on Windows Server 2003

If you are moving your SAP from host A to host B,you need to apply through SAP Market place for different licence by providing the Hardware Key which can be taken from Visual Admin.
Usually you will get the licence in 1 hour.If you need more info please let me know.

Changed articles in one server are automatically updated in other server?

i got an issue that when we are changing an article master data in Master Data Server ( where all Master Data is Maintained ) are Automaticlly Updated in Transactional Data server ( where all Transactions are maintained ). For Articles, ARTMAS Message Type is there but it can't used in Chnage Pointer Techinque becuase it's restricted to BAPI by SAP itself.
but my problem is how Changed Article Data is Updated in Remote Server Automatically.

You can use RFC function modules to update the data between two independent SAP systems. Generally in practice there are three types of communications possible:
1) tRFC
2) qRFC with outbound queue (Used basically for non-SAP server)
3)qRFC with inbound queue

Losing the connection to sap server

Hello guys ,
I have a serious problem that i face losing connection between the terminals and the server, but I can still ping the server from those disconnected computers, the following is a sample to the error from the event viewer of the SAP server.

description : SAP-Basis System Operating system call
rec failed ( error no. 10054)
then the following error

description : SAP-Basis System Connection to user 48
( user name ), terminal 26 ( computer name ) lost
the user no. and the terminal no. are changing all the time
to the same user and computer name.

500235 - Network Diagnosis with NIPING
413330 - Network timeouts
Following full analysis as outlined in the above notes,
if the problem continues proceed with the
results from all tests outlined in the above notes and:
26086 TCP/IP Connection to partner broken
Check the following Note in relation
correcting DNS settings:
124562 - Hostname resolution problems (DNS timeouts)
