Change hiring date

Some persons are hiring date is wrong and their payroll is run . How this date can be change.

1) if your correct date of hire IS BEFORE current date in system
then you can blank IT 0003 fully (dont forget to take printscreen of IT 0003)
do pa41 - change the start date
make IT 0003 how it was before
2) if your correct date of hire IS AFTER current date in system
then you can resign the employee , now cahnge start date by PA41
and delete the resign action which will make him active again. this is risky
SAP has given in note to create 2 new action to achive this
correct action
change incorrect data
you can implement these 2 actions to achive your work

Hii all,
When we change the hiring date ( after the payroll has been run and if it is after the Incorrect date) then there are certain steps recommended by SAP to perform…like Incorrect and Correct Personnel Actions run. It says it will automatically run the payroll correction. I am not able to understand that if the error of incorrect hiring date has been found out after payroll has been run for 6 months then, how the system will deduct the extra amount paid to employee…?
Eg. Incorrect Hiring Date:30.03.1982
Correct Hiring Date :30.06.1983
Also, I want to know do we add any Infotypes to the Infogroups of "Incorrect and Correct entry date" Personnel Actions, or these two are inbuilt in the system?
Please solve this confusion.

Hi,
If you have done payroll posting, do the reversal postings, change hire date the employees, then run the live payroll, do the postings.
To change hire data path:
Enter the employee in master data, select uitlities menu, select the change.leaving date, then you get the hiring action screen, here you can change the hire date.

There are Three Scenarios when you may need to change hiring date:
1) After payroll is run - when hiring date is before actual Hiring date.
2) After payroll is run when hiring date is after actual Hiring Date.
3) Before the payroll is run.
1) PA30 -- Copy actions infotype - action type - incorrect entry -- save and come out PA 30 copy actions infotype -- action type - correct entry - now correct your entries, save your date is changed.
2) PA30 - Utilities - change payroll status - delete accounted to feild, save and come out - then again utilities change entry leaving date - corrrect the hiring date - save and come out.
3) PA30 - Utilities change entry/leaving date change your date and save.

Situation is : I have to hire a person from 01.01.1997 and the cost center create for that person is existed from 01.01.2009.
In this situation should I change the hiring dates of the person or

Changing an Employeeu2019s Entry Date
You can change the employeeu2019s entry date stored in the system after completing the hiring action.
A distinction must be made between the following situations:
The employee has not yet been included in a payroll run:
Read the section Changing an Entry Date Before the First Payroll.
The employee has already been included in a payroll run:
The actual entry date is after the entry date that was incorrectly entered in the system.
Read the section Changing the Employee's Entry Date After the Payroll Run if the Actual Entry Date Comes After the Incorrect Entry Date
The actual entry date is before the entry date that was incorrectly entered into the system
Read the section Changing the Employee's Entry Date After the Payroll Run if the Actual Entry Date is Earlier Before the Incorrect Entry Date
There are different procedures for changing the entry date depending on which of the above cases affects you.

Changeing hiriing date

i need to change the employee hirining date i used T.CODE PA41 then i changed hiring date there. but after that PA30 then it show old date only.when i changed dates in pa41 its shows ERROR info type 9001 not exit and pa30 control indicators for controlling area 1000 does not exit. HOW CAN I SLOVE THIS.

Go to Pa30>>Enter Employee number>> on top u have node utilities>> from here select Change Entry/Leaving date.
From here change the date and check either system is changing or not...
1 thing more, after changing the date while saving system prompt the infotypes, here u have to select all infotypes records should be moved but only 9001 infotype marked as unchecked.
I hope this will resolve ur issue.

u can use PA41 also and PA40 also

Hi Marko.
Go to t-code PA30, enter the personnel number of the employee whom you have hired.
At the top in the menu bar, select "UTILITIES" - "Change entry/leaving date".
It will take you to the screen - "Change Actions" - Change " Start date".
This will correct the hiring date of the employee.

Hi Manoj,
If you have ran the payroll and posted to FI, it is very hard to reconcile. And even more difficlt if the data has been submit to Revenue Dept. or related external org. Please SAP note 41523 for more information.
If the payroll has not been run yet, you can change the entry date by PA41.
Actually, most of my project records the joining data in IT0041 - Date Specifications.

I think T code for this is PA41.
what are the relevant infotypes we need to check for changing the date.
If we do it,Is system will pay one day salary extra?

If you have NOT run payroll for this PF yet, there is no issue involving payroll.
But the BIG problem is Time Evaluation, you know, PT60 run daily, so if you change the hiring date, maybe you have to face some issues coming from Time data.
So process to solve these issues as below:
1. PA41 to change DOJ of employee.,
2. PU00 delete time cluster B1, B2 of this PF.
3. re-run Time Evaluation for this PF ( from new DOJ).
4. test run payroll for this guy. I believe it's ok if you carefully do some steps above.

Change acceptance date in I-recruitment

I accepted an applicant in iRec but input the wrong date for acceptance. Now I want to change the date so that the applicant can be hired earlier than the accept date.
But in fact, the applicant should be accepted on 2012-03-02 as he got onboard on 2012-03-05. With the wrong date of acceptance, the hiring date has to be postponed to at least one day after 2012-03-10, e.g., the earliest hiring day is 2012-03-11 in this case.
We can’t update the date in iRec. Could you help to provide a solution to ensure that the issue can be fixed and the applicant can be hired on time.

You can change the date from Core HR form.
Search for the Applicant ->Click on Other->Application and change the Accepted status and update the Date.

Hey Miky,
If u run a payroll for that employee, and u want to change His entry date , try to delete his payroll results in PU01 T.CODE.
Now u can change entry date.
Still if it doesn't come check Controll Record. And adjust the dates of retro. And
get back with output. If it clicks . Hope it will do.

Changing of date if joining

hi sap gurus.
i wanted to change the date of joining of an employee(assue that an employee is already hired in to the system from 1980. only hiring action has been taken place no pay roll has been run.) in this case i want to change that employee joining date from 2007 april.i tried it through the pa41 t code but its giving some error saying some earliest date changes are not allowed.
can any one tell me the procedure exactly how to change the hiring date of an employee.and aslo the possibility of deleting the personal number and re-hiring the person for same p no with our choice date.

u mean to say that the employee hiring date is 1980 and change it to 2007
any way when hiiring action takes place a payroll status is record is created IT0003.
if u r planning to change the date beyond the dtae that is stored in your control record it will not accept.
if u delete the personnel number altogether u can as suggested
but i dont know or i dont think u can get the number again if the number range is internal.
one thing u can do is change the control record earliest retrodate to your need and change the date
then set it back to th original date
