Change home page on 6700 classic browser

I have an unlocked 6700 classic. I can't figure out where to change the default home page for the Web browser (currently the Ovi home page). Any help? Thank you.

Sure!
Menu - Settings - Configuration - Personal config. sett. - options - select "Add new" - select "Web".
At this point, the only option you should change is the "Homepage" - simply make this what you want your new homepage to be when you open the web browser.
Then save this/go back to the list of personally configured accounts, you will see one called "My web" which is what you just created, select "options - activate".
This should work for you...

  • How do I refresh the page I'm looking On? How do I go to the home page without clsoeing & reopening browser?

Actually two questions since upgrading to version 9 of Firefox:
    1) In order to refresh a page (in case that page has updated information) I see no refresh symbol and have to click on the URL window and actually reenter it. Is that the only way?
    2) When browser is already open on an other than home page I see no method to get to the home page other than reopening browser. What is the easier way?

Firefox 4 and later use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end of the location bar.<br />
During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.<br />
If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.<br />
Middle-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.<br />
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache this way.
*Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press F5 or "Ctrl + R" for a normal reload

  • Safari - cannot change home page

I've been struggling to change the home page but cannot seem to get rid of the default Mac page. I have changed home page in preferences, and the required page is showing clearly. However, the Apple page still loads every time I start Safari or open a new tab. Obviously there is something I am doing wrong. Any views on this?

    Hello Michael,
This is really odd indeed two years of this! Sorry for your frustration.
I think trying the Test or new account as Andy; )recommended would
    be very telling.
Then you may have shipped the corrupt preference file over as well.
you say Change home page to either another URL or "blank"
    Sticks in preferences box
    Close Safari
Open and apple page appears yet again (despite preferences being to, say, blank).
    Just to be clear In Safari pref. the General tab;
In the -> New windows open with: drop down is that set to "Home Page"
You paste the preferred Url or you browse there
Click on use "Current Page" when on the page you want
and this does not work for you.
it will not work if it is set to anything but the "Home page"
I reiterated because you speak of "blank" does that mean you set it on
    Empty.
I don't mean to be stubborn, it is just that i have had this issue.
Mine was caused by an over site with the Empty/ bookmark etc. option
    on the drop down.
Eme'~[ ) btw, your location, lovely imo.

  • Cannot change home page

cannot change home page. have moved and home page continues from last residence (router: 192.168.1.1). I now want a different home page. I have tried Tools>Use Current>OK, but my old 192.168.1.1 keeps coming back.

Thank you, Anonymous, for your post. It was a good place to start. It never hurts to ask, "is it plugged in?" before assuming the machine is broken. I have tried the steps in your suggestion, but they don't work. Again, Thanks. -- Wayne

  • How to open mew tab in google without changing home page

how to open mew tab in google without changing home page

Your solution will be client setting dependent.  The home page navigation and tab options for opening in the frame or new window are merely setting the href target in the home page html when the screen is rendered by the personalization service.  As far as I know the tab behavior new to IE in version 7, and the tab behavior in other browsers like Mozilla/Firefox are both managed at the application level and will be client PC bound.  The home page process just uses target="_blank" for opening links in a new window.  I don't know if there is a browser neutral setting for something like target="_newtab", but it doesn't appear to be the case:  http://www.w3.org/TR/html401/types.html#h-6.16
If something like this does creep into the standard then it would make a nice feature enhancement request for 3 radio button options when defining a link in the navigation editor.

  • Can't change home page in IE 11

I just got my new Y510p and the biggest issue so far is that I can't change my home page from MSN to the one I want.  I've tried the normal way but no dice.  Every time I reboot it goes back to MSN.  I've been in situations on my old machine where I couldn't change my homepage because my browser was hijacked by malware (which I was able to resolve), but this is a brand new machine, fresh out of the box.  Has anyone had the same experience?
    Thanks.
    Solved!

You did not mention whether you checked your security to see if it has an option to prevent registry changes. If it does, they will return on a reboot.
    Try the following:
    1. Create a folder on your desktop. Name it HijackThis.
    2. Please download the .exe version of HijackThis from http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/hijackthis/ to your desktop's HijackThis folder. The folder HijackThis is where you will find a Backups Folder containing any HJT logs that you save. When you use the application to remove anything, you will also find the backup copies made by HJT inside this folder. The backups can be restored if you choose to do so.
    3. Double click on the HJT.exe to launch the tool. Check the Main Menu button at the bottom center. When the main menu appears check the box "Show this window when I start HijackThis".
    4. Run a scan by clicking on Do a system scan.
    5. Place a checkmark next to this one entry if found:
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://lenovo13-comm.msn.com
    6. Click Fix Checked.
    7. Close HijackThis and reboot.
Let us know how that goes.

  • A new video now present on my Firefox home page is causing the browser to crash on two computers. How do I remove it?

Just today, the problem started on my work laptop. When Firefox first opens everything is okay, whether the video pop-up window is there or not. However, if I then open a new tab and select my Firefox home page, about 80% of the time the browser crashes, asking for information to send to Support. When I reload Firefox, the offending tab does not go back tot he home page, but to a state prior to that.
I now find that my home desktop has the same problem. I can find no settings to prevent the video from displaying on the Firefox home page. I also get the impression that the video is some promotional item from Firefox.
I will now run manual virus scans, but I'm running Webroot on both systems, and they are scanned automatically. Any ideas? Frankly, I'm wondering if it's time to find a better browser.
    Thanks,
    Brian

The default homepage has featured various animations for a long time now (world map, bouncing star, and so on). The method to disable them remains the same:
    # Type about:config into the address bar and press Enter.
    # To bypass the warning, press the big button labeled "I'll be careful, I promise!".
    # In the search box, paste browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl
    # In the search results, double-click browser.aboutHomeSnippets.updateUrl. Delete all the text so that the preference value is blank, then press the OK button. As a side-effect, only default tips will be displayed below the search box, because new ones won't be fetched from the web anymore.
    # Type about:support into the address bar and press Enter.
    # Click the Show Folder button.
    # Open the storage folder, open the persistent folder inside that.
    # Exit Firefox.
    # Back in the Windows Explorer window, delete the '''moz-safe-about+home''' folder.

  • How Can I get rid of Yahoo home page? Changing home page doesn't work.

A week or two ago, Yahoo started coming up as my home page. No matter how many times I change it back to Bing, every time I bring up Firefox, there is Yahoo as the home page. Changing it back to Bing and clicking ok is not working. I'm getting a little frustrated with this. How do I get rid of Yahoo coming up as my home page when I did not even ask for it?
Thank you for your time and consideration.
    Sincerely,

Hi johnbarr, please start a new question for further discussion since the original poster has marked this one as solved.

  • Change HOME page in portal

    hello forum,
Here is quite a newbe question I suppose..
Is there a fairly easy method to change the content of the iViews on the HOME page in the portal?
We wish only to change the text in the 'SAP Enterprise Portal' iView (com.sap.portal.welcome.iView) in the 'Portal Information' page. I already copied the original page and iView to a separate folder.
Since we only need to show a simple text on this page, I think there is no need to develop a completely new iView, but instead want to change the existing iView (at least a copy of it).
    Thanks!
    Walter

    Hello M Peter,
I was able to download the com.sap.portal.ivs.iviewservice.par.bak from the PCD; I imported it in NDS by means of 'import Portal Application Project from PAR file'; I was then able to see the contents of this file and make changes to the welcome.properties file in dist/PORTAL-INF/private/classes/. After changing the text for the 'WELCOME' field I used Create/Export PAR file to upload the changes back to the portal. One restart later leaves me with the following error after logon:
Error occurred while trying to access desktop: "portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop". The object does not exist or you are not authorized to access it. If this problem persists, contact your system administrator.
I checked SAP note 869690 that describes this symptom; but I cannot request the default desktop by the stated URL. I created copies of the desktop and login pages in order to be able to change them, which might explain this behaviour.
Because the only change is in the com.sap.portal.ivs.iviewservice.par service; how can I replace this file? I tried opening the original .PAR file in NDS and exporting it to the portal; but this does not change anything.
This is a serious error; how can we restore original behaviour?
    Regards,
    Walter

  • Newbie, Change "home" page to regular page?

    How do I do that?
I just started working away at page one of a gallery.
Now I want a "front" or "home page."  But I can't seem to replace the one I've already created.  Seems stuck as "home."

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do - but is seems you want to change a page name.
In Plan View d-click on the page name to select it then enter your desired name.

Each time I attempt to change my home page from bing to google, I'm either told server cannot be found, or it returns to bing.
