Change in AppleID / Email address

Hi guys,
With all this debacle on privacy, I finally decided to switch from gmail to outlook.com as my primary personal email. WIth that, I started changing all my subscriptions/accounts (including my appleID) to reflect the move. Things were fine when suddenly, while looking at the Top Paid Charts, I noted that all those apps that I previously purchased in the past 5 years are no longer accessible. Given that I have sunk quite a bit of cash into the appstore already, I'm a bit miffed that this has happened. Does this mean that purchases are linked to the ID I am using and not the actual account represented by that ID? I tried switching my appleID back ot the old one to no avail. :-(

Ok so here's what I did since this morning
1. Changed AppleID from old email to new email. Changed iCloud to reflect the same. Verified email.
- result: paid apps inaccessible, purchase history empty
2. Changed AppleID back from new to old. Changed iCloud as well. Reverified email.
- result: same
3. Changed back to new email...
- result: same

I changed my AppleID / email address after my old email expired, and now whenever I go to sign into iCloud on my computer it still shows my OLD AppleID in the log-in and it won't let me change it. In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

How can I change my iCloud email address? I ended up with my wife's iCloud email associated with my AppleID.

I got a new AppleID for my wife today: [email protected] When I wanted to get her a [email protected] e-mail it didn't let me.
Somehow my wife's e-mail [email protected] got associated with my AppleID [email protected] and now I don't seem to be able to change it.
I thought my iCloud e-mail was [email protected] ...but it tells me that this email is associated with another AppleID. But it's not associated with my wife's AppleID, either...?
I had to change my AppleID email/username from [email protected] to [email protected] some time back. Could this have caused it?
I live in the UAE and therefore don't manage to get phone support. They sent me an e-mail with a link to re-schedule the call but it does not work. And replying to the e-mail of course also does not work as 'this e-mail is not monitored'.
My new macbook air is less than 90 days old. We have two macs, 4 ipods, 4 iphones, an appletv, two ipads and an ipad mini in the family. I am very disappointed that Apple does not seem to be willing to make an effort to help me out.
Has anyone else had a similar issue? Is there a solution other than getting Apple Support to do it? Or is there a way to contact them if you're not in any of the listed countries?

Can I change my iCloud email address and keep all of my music, apps, files and mail in the cloud and on all of my devices?

Ok, so here's the deal. I want to change my iCloud email address. Ultimately I want to keep the same Apple ID and simply edit the part before the '@icloud.com'. If this is not possible, can I make a new Apple ID and transfer all of music, apps, files, and mail to the new Apple ID and all of my other devices?

You should be able to log into the account via the 'manage your apple id' button on http://appleid.apple.com and put a proper primary email address on the account ; or you can do it by logging into the account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes.

If you mean you are trying to delete your iCloud account in iOS 7 and you don't know the passwod for the old ID, do one of the following:
If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You should then be able to turn off Find My iPhone with your password. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back and change your primary email address and iCloud ID back to the way it was. You will then be able to go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current ID and password to reconnect to your iCloud account.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to get them to reset the password for it so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You will have to prove your identity to them in order to do so. Once you've finished editing your rescue email address, click the Save button directly below the email field.
You can then try using it as your primary email address on your account (you may need to log out and back in after removing it as your rescue email address).

Created a new appleid just to get into forums to ask a question but hesitate to sync itunes and iphone with it as i may lose all purchased music apps etc. can anyone help? i have received no email response frm apple support, it's been over 48 hours

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?
