Change in batch number

Dear Experts,
We have a class for one finished material class FG_CLASS and it has two characteritics BATCHNO1 and BATCHNO2 to represent the batch number of the components which goes in to make up the finished product . The batch number of the finsihed product will be the sum of the batch number of the components i,e BATCHNO1 ( H123456789 )  + BATCHNO2 ( H234567890 ) . Shall we create a characteritics BATCHFIN which can automatically bringtogether  the batch numbers of BATCHNO1 and BATCHNO2  to BATCHFIN value as H123456789H234567890 .
Thanks.

Dear,
It is not possible in standard SAP. Please refer the reply of our Expert Mr. Dhaval.

  • Change of batch number

    dear all,
by any chance can i change the batch number once material doc is posted and material is already there in stock with X batch number.
i dont want to cancel the material document.
    please advice..
    regards,

    Hi,
Create the new batch first through MSC1N for material, plant & sloc combination.
Then you can transfer the stock from existing X Batch to new Y Batch through 309 or 311 movement type.
Enter the receiving batch as the new Y batch. & the existing batch as X.

  • Change batch number field during post goods issue

    Hello,
During one step transfer posting i want to change the batch number during goods receipt via transaction VL02N.
I have tried using the below exits and badi without success.
    Exit EXIT_SAPMM07M_010

    LE_SHP_GOODSMOVEMENT
Below is the code i have implemented in the exit
    clear v_vbeln.
    select single vbeln into v_vbeln
       from likp
    select * from likp
        where vbeln = i_mkpf-le_vbeln
        and   vstel = c_vstel
        and   werks = c_werks
        and   lfart = c_lfart.
        IF sy-subrc = 0.
          e_charg = 'X'.
        ENDIF.
If any body has implemented same functionality kindly help.
    Regards,
    Koustubh

    Hi,
In the BADI LE_SHP_GOODSMOVEMENT, inside method CHANGE_INPUT_HEADER_AND_ITEMS, loop the parameter CT_XIMSEG.
For each line in CT_XIMSEG, change the value of CT_XIMSEG-CHARG according to you logic and modify the internal table CT_XIMSEG transporting the valude of CHARG.
Check whether now it is getting updated in MSEG.

Usually you can just overwrite the defaulted batch number.

  • How to Change batch number in inbound?

    Hi, i have an issue.
In our STO process, because supplying plant is applied batch management, when create Oubound Delivery, we enter a batch number, example Batch A.
After post GI, the Inbound will be created automatically. And auto input the batch A in that IBD. That field isn't possible to be changed.
The user want to changed it to Batch B.
    The question here is :
Why batch A is input automatically to IBD?
How to change Batch A to another in IBD?
    Edited by: Luankuz123 on Oct 20, 2011 7:51 AM

    Hi,
In your case the stock is in stock in transit. You cannot change the batch number from A to B. It gives effect as A batch as negative and B batch as positive. Better do transfer posting from batch to batch in 309 after STO. Thanking you.

  • Stock transfer of QM stock thereby creating a new batch number

    Dear Experts,
I have searched for this content but didn't get content which match my requirement.
My client has placed a requirement. When they receive a material against a purchase order through movement type 101 they receive it to quality inspection stock. After quality inspection this material is taken to unrestricted area through movement type 321.
Now after this material comes to unrestricted area, this material is again subject to quality inspection.Quality testing is done after a particular period.
Next quality testing date is calculated based on this formula:-321 movement type posting date + quality inspection interval days maintained in material master.
i.e:-If for a material 321 movement type is 16th July 2014 & if quality inspection interval days for that material is maintained as 365 days then next quality inspection of that material will be after a year.
Now client has placed a requirement when this material comes to quality testing,15 days prior to quality testing this material should move to quality inspection area from the present unrestricted area thereby generating new batch number for that material.
This changes the client will view in MMBE.
Gurus Please help as I'm new to QM.
    Kind regards,
    Pradeesh.P

    Hi,
This is not possible, you cannot generate a new batch number through recurring inspection.
If you require a new batch number then during stock posting in UD you post it to new material,in your
case this will be the same materiaal and you give new batch number.
In this way a batch material has come for inspection and after inspecting it you are changing the
    batch number of the material.

  • Batch number assignment

    Dear Gurus
I have confirmed a production order say 100kg. Now while posting in MB31 I want to post in parts in 3 batches. But while posting the first part say 40kg system is automatically giving a batch number which is coming in deactivated mode i.e you cannot change.Again while posting the second part say 30kg system is giving the same batch number and not allowing me to post giving a message that you have posted once in that batch number- what to do ?
    Regards
    Sandip Sarkar

    Hi,
The batch number is taken by system from Production Order. You can't change the batch number. As per standard practice with one production order only one batch can be produced. You can not produce morethan one batch using same production order.
    Hope this will help.

  • Automatic batch number in migo_tr with movement type 301

    Hi!
I am trying to do a transfer from a plant to another with MIGO_TR movement type 301.
The thing is that I must enter manually the batch number in the destination plant.
Is there a possibilty to configure the system  in order to copy in batch number field for destination plant the same batch number entered in the plant from where  I want to transfer?
    Thanks!

your system does not work like designed
please read this very old but release independend OSS note 555 - Batch treatment during stock transfer and transfer posting:
    Key word: Transfer batch
If you enter materials for stock transfers or transfer postings with movement types 301 to 316 via collective processing and in this case enter the batch number for materials to be handled in batches, the system automatically sets 'Receiving batch' equal to 'Issuing batch'.
    Additional key words
    Cause and prerequisites
The collective processing screen does not provide space for an additional transfer batch in the two lines provided for a material movement.
    Solution
During the stock transfer of material, the batch is usually retained. If you want to change the batch number, you have to enter the item in question step by step (F8=New item).

  • PP : BATCH number creation

    Hi All,
I am assigning batch number externally during the production order creation by using user exit. In my case i have to do
"The same batch number generated for the Main co-product should be assigned to the other co-products at the same time".
Please suggest how to achieve the same.
    With regards,
    Pravin

    Hi Pravin,
These exits will help you change the batch number to specific i.e. sales order number or production order number or date or plant etc. as in the function module documentation. But if you want to assign any batch which you've created using MSC1N or BAPI_BATCH_CREATE, then I feel that probably you've to use some other user-exit, these are not the ones which are going to help.
    Try these BADI's:
    WORKORDER_CONFIRM
    WORKORDER_GOODSMVT
    WORKORDER_UPDATE
    Hope this helps.

  • Can we change batch number to any unrestricted stock

    Hi experts,
while confirming production order of Finished good, material batch number is mistyped by pp person. qm person also blindly passed the material in the system. stock was posted to sales location as unrestricted stock, which is ready for sale. Is there any way to assign the correct batch number to the unrestricted stock, or to correct the mistyped batch number? pls.revert.

    Hi,
Another way (this is a quick fix way, and you will have to see that this does not break anything elsewhere in the system) for to do this is create the batch using MSC1N, and transfer the stock from the incorrect bacth to this new batch. You can use 311 (use the same source and receiving Sloc, just change the batches) or also 309 (again, use the same material number, different batches). The reference will be available in the MB51 list. Please check if there are any Z reports that pick the bacth number from the Order table, becuase this will refer to the incorrect batch only.
I would recommend that you refer this first to your FI and CO person to see that there are not detrimental effects. If the material is on Standard price this should not be a problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Master Batch change for serial number in stock with status "ESTO" by IQ02

    Hi,
How  to change master batch for serial number in stock with status "ESTO" by IQ02 transaction?

    Hi Harsh,
if this field is not ready for input you have set the stock check to '02 Error' in your serial number profile in order to ensure
consistency between the stock data of serial numbers and inventorymanagement.
In this case you have to do a material movement posting inMB11 with movement type 309 (material to material). Enter the new batch as batch of the receiving material. This movement will update both the master batch and the stock batch of the serial number.

    Mauro

  • Change UUT serial Number with Single Pass in Batch model

How do I change the UUT serial Numbers with Single Pass in Batch model ?
I also like to change the UUT report path, so that each UUT saved in it's own directory.
    TIA
    George Zou
    http://webspace.webring.com/people/og/gtoolbox

the path to the UUT report can be configured in the report options.
You can't specify unique path for each UUT in the report options.
Both report path and UUT serial number are stored in the sequence context during execution. So if you want to know where those variables are located (in order to change their values during runtime), you can set a breakboint in your sequence, change to the variabels tab and do a search for the variables (you perharps have to play around a bit with the searchstring though).
I've already find the place where TestStand holds the information.  The problem is that there is no proper callback I can override.
I can only change the serial number in my sequence file.  But that is too late to include the serail number in the report file name.  The serial number inside the report does get changed.
By the way, I can't change the process model.  User wants out of box batch model.
    Thanks for reply.

  • Stock to Stock Transfer (Changing Batch Number)

Occasionally we need to "correct" a batch number.  Most often because the user let the system assign an auto Batch Number instead of using our site procedure to create a "Smart" Batch Number (i.e. MMYYYYXXXXX).  We correct this by executing the MIGO Transfer Posting, Other, Movement Code 301.  This works for us, but is there some display screen that could be transacted, and them printed so it could be included in our Batch History Files?  This print out would need to show the "OLD" and "NEW" Batch Numbers.

I m just wondering if this approach is a good one. or just a waste of time and resources.
The problem starts with the fact that the user do not follow your procedures to assign "smart batch numbers" . And you want the same users to take a screenshot and attach it to some file.
Will this really work or just create another gap to be monitored?
Like for goods receipts and goods issues you can well have a material document printed for transfer postings. But I consider this as well as waste of environment since it has no more info than you have anyway in your system and you can find this evidence with MB51 whenever you want.
MB56 Batch where used list should also be able to display the transition from one batch to another.
I also wonder why you are using 301 movement, this is called plant to plant, I tend to use simple movements  where the users have not many options to do something wrong, hence I would do the batch to batch movement with 311.
And last but not least I would use the user exits for batch number creation to create this smart number automatically instead of manually, further it will ensure that you do not get any other internal batch numbers if the user forgets about your process
