Change in Consolidation frequency

Hi,
Till 2006, my client was having annual consolidations. From 2007, he wants semi annual consolidation. How do I switch over to a different consolidation frequency?
I tried creating a new version but facing lot of errors. Can somebody let me know the steps that I need to carryout for the same. Thanks.
Hope I can use the same chart of accounts after the switch over too.
Regards,
Mike

Hi Mike,
I am afraid that your approach of creating new version may not work, since verson/ special version is at the highest level. Perhaps, you can create a new consolidation area under the same data basis, change consolidation frequency, use the same version, use the same cons COA so that you have all CS_Items in place. However, I do not understand the reason why you are trying to distinguish between the past and future.
If I were in your position, I would have handled as follows. I will ensure that I have the new consolidation (semi annual) in place in master data. I would change the consolidation frequency from annual to semi-annual in each of the consolidation function, wherever required. That should meet your client's expectations.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Thanks.
PS: Please award points if you find the answer useful.

  • EC-CS consolidation frequency - skip period

    Hello,
we are implementing EC-CS cosolidation and having problem regarding consolidation frequency.
At the moment consolidation frequency is set to yearly consolidation. Customer now wants to change it so the frequency would be montly consolidation. The problem is that sometimes they want to do monthly consolidation but if there wouldn't be enough time to do it they would skip a period or more. Is that posible and what are consequences? Would it be a problem because some documents are reversed in subsequent period?
    Thank you in advance.
    Kind regards,

    Hi Jigar,
    Thank you for your replies...
Actually i had maintained all the prerequisites for the Data Collection and the Consolidation Monitor.
I also executed the interunit elimination entries.
The problem occurred when i tried to consolidate the data for previous fiscal years (i.e. 2002 to 2007).
After completing the tasks / task groups, i executed the consolidated financial statement comparison report "S_ALR_87011792" and found that the total value is not reconciling with the individual financial statement report (F.01 / F.54). I don't know where i am making problems. Can you please guide me on this.
I am not sure whether this is a configuration problem.

  • BCS 604 SP6 - Change to Consolidation Group extra features

    Hi All,
We've upgraded from SP0 to SP6 and noticed some new options for CCG config:
IN UCWB we have rthe following new options:
    1. under Consolidation area -->  Settings --> Consolidation Functions used, we have:
(checkbox) Separation of Goodwill from Investment (ERP 2005)
    2. Under Changes to Consolidation group we had:
    - Selected Items
    - Task
    - Document Type
    - System Utilization - NEW
    > (checkbox) Other Comprehensive Income in Total Divestiture
    Help on "1" reveals:
If you select this checkbox, you enable the separation of goodwill from the investment relationship.
    Use
If the Separation of Goodwill from Investment function is active, you can manually enter a goodwill entry on a separate consolidation unit for the Reclassification of Treasury Stock activity. The system does not post a minority interest to effects from valuation allowance or currency translation. The system suppresses the posting of minority interests on the assumption that no investment and equity data exist for a separate consolidation unit for which you have entered a manual goodwill entry. (However, the system does not check whether investment and equity data on the separate consolidation unit really do not exist.)
    Help on "2":
Other Comprehensive Income in Total Divestiture
If you select this checkbox, you enable the system to post the other comprehensive income in the Total Divestiture activity with an effect on net income.
    Use
If the Other Comprehensive Income in Total Divestiture function is active, the system posts the group value of the other comprehensive income in total divestiture to the income statement.
    Dependencies
You define the items for other comprehensive income as a subset of the equity items in Equity Data Customizing on the Other Comprehensive Income tab page. You specify there for each item for other comprehensive income the relevant posting item in the income statement.
Anyone used either of these extra features,
    found them useful, any problems?

I have not used the 1st "Separation of Goodwill".
The second feature is needed when Cons of Investment (COI) is not used. I actually configured Cons Grp Chgs with this and subsequently implemented COI in the same system. What happened is that this feature disappeared from Cons Grp Chgs and reappeared in COI > Settings > Appropriation of Retained Earnings.
    I hope this helps.

  • Consolidation Frequency in BCS

I am part of BW based SEM-BCS project and we are running into following problem.
We would like to have Consolidation Frequency 'Quarterly' but load the data from cube monthly. This does not seem like very unusual requirement, but I am unable to find appropriate config.
There is some reference to Period Category in the Periodicity section, but there are no options to associate Period Category with Task or Method.
Any help will be appreciated. We are on version 4.0

You are correct that the inversion task must be executed for each period of the cons frequency.

    Hello all,
thank you for your responses - where under Consol Grp Change do I find the setting for the the appropriation of retained earnings? I can see the one for CoI.

  • Change 5622 sampling frequency

    Hi,
I am working on a PXI project to generate a single tone frequency signal, (which will be modulated by vital signs) and then demodulate the signal and view the time domain demodulated signal and its spectrum. I am able to generate the signal and view the demodulated wave but the problem is I am using PXI 5663 for the receiver (and 56773 to transmit the single tone signal) and the 5622 digitizer has a very high sampling rate(150MS/s) which is too high for vital signs (whose frequency is not more than 10-12Hz).
I want to change the sampling rate of 5622 and I read a couple of sites (http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/370592P-01/digitizers/5622_clocking/) and documents on
I am using PXI Clock as the Reference Clock Source to synchronize the 5673 and 5663 so how can I change the clock frequency of 5622?
I tried using the Decimate and Resample vi s to change the sampling frequency of the received waveform but I did not get any output.(Please find attached the vi and the front panel description of the demodulate vi;the transmission vi is the default  RFSG Single Tone Generation).
I am stuck at this point and don't know how to proceed.
Could someone please help me out?
    Thanks so much,
    Sharmi

  • Consolidation Group Change and Consolidation Activity

    Hi Experts,
I am new in SAP consolidation, I have a question regarding the difference between the function "consolidation group change" and "consolidation activity".
If I read in the sap library, these 2 functions are separated, but if I look at the content, I saw some similarity where the consolidation group change also included the investment activity like acquisition and divestiture.
Could anyone explain what are the difference between these 2 function?
When I was a user, if the group acquiered a new cons unit, I just add a new cons unit in the consolidation group hierarchy, assign consolidation method, add the additional financial data for the ownership percentage (activity = first consolidation), enter the reported financial data, run CI function and add one more column in my report painter.
When I read SAP library, I saw the "consolidation group change" function talking about the consolidation activity, now I wonder, what are the difference? What is the business scenario for using the "normal" CI activity and the "consolidation group change"? Please anyone advise. Thank you.
    regards,

Normal C/I is a regular acquisition or divestiture.  Cons Group Change could be movement of a company from one consolidation group to another (i.e., parent A sells company 1 to parent B).  Or you own a company 20% and purchase an additional 60% and must switch accounting technique from Equity to Purchase.  BCS will need to book Cons Group Change entries to account for the acct technique change.  (In the past, at 20%, you would only book equity pickup, or equitization entries, to the parent as PL30 adjustments in the CoI.  Now you must bring in the complete balances of the company due to purchase method of consolidation.  BCS books consolidation-group specific adjustments to do this.)
    Example....
    "Normal C/I activity"
New company A needs be consolidated in Cons Group 1 starting in 03/2007.  Add the company to the Cons Group master data, set the accounting technique, update additional financial data w/ activity First consolidation and load data for the new company.  Run COI
    "Cons Group Change"
Company A is consolidated in Cons Group 1, but starting in 06/2007 they will be sold to a parent in Cons Group 2.  Update the Cons Group master data...setting company A to divest in 06/2007 from CG1 and to First Consolidate in CG2 starting in 06/2007.  If using Org Change logic, create an Org Change number and define a sender/receiver relationship for CG1 --> CG2.  In additional financial data, create a total transfer activity w/ org change logic from CG1 to CG2.  Run Org Change task and BCS will zero out balance sheet related to company A in CG1 on posting level 02/12/22.  In CG2, similar postings will book "catch up" entries in 06/2007 to bring full balance sheet into CG2.  In CoI, company will be transferred to new parent.
    Hopefully that makes sense...

  • How you change the download frequency for a single Podcast?

I have iTunes 11.1.5 for Mac, and I can't find how to change the down load frequence , aka "check for new episodes" setting for individual podcasts. I've tried using the settings menu in the "My Podcasts" and the "List" podcast view. When I do this, I see these setting:
    Keep
    Download
    Sort Order
    Play Order
If I click on the "Defaults..." button, the top setting is "check for new episodes"
I have no problem with being able to change the  default download frequency setting, but I am at wit's end with locating where I can change that setting for individual podcasts.

    Bump.

  • Changing my backup frequency

I have a SEagate USB external HDD. My iMac seems to be constaly backing up to it (every 5 mins or so) on top of the weekly backup I have set using time machine editor. Is there any way to stop the constant backups?

Those apps are not recommended.  Ordinarily, you'll hardly notice Time Machine's quick hourly backups.  If you do, something is wrong, and changing the frequency only deals with the symptom, not the cause.
Sounds like a conflict between the 3rd-party app and Time Machine.  Either:
Use it to reset Time Machine to the default values and uninstall it.  Turn Time Machine OFF, then back ON.  It should start a backup every hour.  If they seem too large considering how much you've done since the previous one, see #B4 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.  If the size seems reasonable, but the backups take a long time, see #B2 in the same link.
Or, contact the maker of the software.

  • Consolidation Frequency

Due to business reasons  consolidation is required on quarterly basis only. Added the 0CALQUARTER infoobject for this purpose to BCS cube. All BCS task need to be executed on quarterly basis only.
Now what is the role to assigned to this infoobject, since our consolidation task has to be executed using this infoobject.  The role period is already assigned to month.
    Appreciate to share your experience/thoughts,

    Hi Eugene,
Thanks for the details. We already have the derivation in BI cube to derive the calquarter details.
But since we have the 0CALQUARTER in the BCS totals cube and need to assign the role in 'Cons area'.
What is the role to assign? The monthly period is already assigned the role?
Should we give the role of subassignment to 0calquarter?.
Since all our consolidation process is based on quarter as frequency, shall we assign the period role to quarter and give the subassignment to month? Does it work this way?
Please let me know your opinion on role.

  • How to change agent upload frequency

    Hi,
I am looking for a way to change the frequency at which the agent checks the local targets and uploads the information. The reason - say on the Dev database targets, I want to prevent Agent from collecting information frequently and uploading the OMR with lots of information..which I really don't need at the default frequency. Say, if the default is 5 minutes, I would prefer to have the agents on the Dev servers to check the local targets and upload information every 30 minutes....that way OMS/OMR server is not busy working for something which is not critical. How can I manage the frequency....any information or pointers would be appreciated.
    Thanks
    -Chandra

    Chandra,
communication between agent and oms takes place every every couple of seconds. The agent monitors different "targets", e.g. Host target, database target, listener target, etc. Each target can be monitored via target-specific metrics. For example the host target has metrics: cpu util%, etc. Each metric has its thresholds and also it´s specific monitoring interval.
In your case, I would recommend to create a monitoring template for each target type of your dev host. In that monitoring template, you can increase the monitoring interval.
There is in fact a configuration parameter in $AGENT_HOME/sysman/config/emd.properties, called UploadInterval, but that does only regulate how often the metric data is transmitted, to the oms, not how often the metric is measured. Therefore it has no effect on repository size.

  • How to change the Horizontal Frequency?

I can change the resolution, but not the frequency (Hz) why?
Since I live in Sweden, a PAL land, I'd like to make sure my DVDs run at 75Hz. Running a DVD at the default frequence (which doesn't show, and I don't know how to find out) it looks like it converts PAL 50 Hz to 60 Hz, which is terrible.
    (and yes I'm a newbie

I think I'm sort of right. I found this on the web talking about LCD displays:
Refresh rate, response time, flicker and motion-blur
There seems to be a lot of confusion and mis-information on these topics on the web; here's my clarification...
Refresh rate is the rate at which the electronics in the monitor addresses (updates) the brightness of the pixels on the screen (typically 60 to 75Hz). For each pixel, an LCD monitor maintains a constant light output from one addressing cycle to the next (sometimes referred to as 'sample-and-hold'), so the display has no refresh-dependent flicker.
There should be no need to set a high refresh rate to avoid flicker on an LCD.
Response time relates to the time taken for the light throughput of a pixel to fully react to a change in its electrically-programmed brightness. The viscosity of the liquid-crystal material means it takes a finite time to reorientate in response to a changed electric field. A second effect (which has a rather more complicated explanation) is that the capacitance of the LC material is affected by the molecule alignment, and so if a step change is brightness is programmed, as the LC realigns the cell voltage changes and the brightness to which it settles is not quite what was programmed. Unless 'overdrive' (which tries to pre-compensate for this effect) is employed, it may take several refreshes before the light output stablises to the correct value. Response rate for dark-to-light is normally different from light-to-dark, and is often slower still between mid-greys. VESA and others define standard ways of measuring response time, but a single figure rarely tells the whole story.
Manufacturers 'response times' rarely tell the whole story.
Unless combined with a strobing backlight, response times much below 16ms are likely to be of only marginal benefit, owing to more-dominant 'sample and hold' effects (see below),
The visual effect of motion blur is self-explanatory and it is fairly intuitive to realise that a slow pixel response-time will cause this problem. What is less obvious, but at least as important in causing motion-blur, is the 'sample-and-hold' effect: an image held on the screen for the duration of a frame-time blurs on the retina as the eye tracks the (average) motion from one frame to the next. By comparison, as the electron beam sweeps the surface of a cathode ray tube, it lights any given part of the screen only for a miniscule fraction of the frame time. It's a bit like comparing film or video footage shot with low- and high-shutter speeds. Motion-blur originating from sample-and-hold in the display can become less of an issue as the frame (refresh) rate is increased... provided that the source material (film, video, or game) contains that many unique frames. For LCD TV there is significant interest in the industry in strobing (flickering!) the backlight deliberately so as to reduce sample-and-hold motion-blur!
