Currently in Deployment Optimization Profile--- Deployment Parameter View--- SNP Checking horizon is 4 days
If this Parameter (SNP Checking horizon) is changed to 7 days what will be its effects on the current scenario
--Advantages & Disadvantages.

Deployment Optimizer - Modeling question

I am new to the Deployment/Optimizer area. I have modeled a scenario as described below.
And have a few questions on what I would like to happen during deployment.
Central DC: CDC1, Regional DCs: RDC1 & RDC2
Product gets deployed from Central CDC1 to RDC1 & RDC2. I have customer demand and forecasts at all the three locations.
I have defined ATD Receipts category group as just Stock on hand only (category CC) and ATD Issues includes AY, BH, BI,
BM, BR, EB etc. These two categories are assigned to the Location Master.
I have specified Fair Share Rule "A" in the Product master and location dependent penalty costs in SNP1 tab.
In the Deployment Optimizer profile I have mentioned that the Distribution is based on Lowest Costs for both Supply Shortage
and Supply Surplus. I have defined a Pull Depl. Horizon of 10 days, and blank for Push Deployment and SNP Checking Horizon.
When I run the deployment with all the three locations, what I notice is that the Customer orders and forecast of the Central DC are
satisfied before deploying anything to the Regional DCs.
My requirement is that the Central DC should deploy the available quantity at the Central equally among the Centrals and the Regional
DCs on a fair share basis for the Sales orders first, then the remainder of the stock should be deployed, again among Central and
Regional DCs on a fair share basis for the forecast and the safety stock is the last.
How can I achieve this equal deployment among central and regionals even though Central is the source location.
Could somebody let me know how to model this above requirement?

I am trying to model the exact scenario where the ATD quantity is not being equally split but the whole chunk is being sent to one of the destination locations. Can you please let me know how you have setup the cost models.

Optimization profile for Deployment optimizer. 3.0 -- 5.1

To APO guru
we are going to 5.1 directly from 3.0. then I am in stcuk to setting up optimizer profile.
In the Deployment optimizer, one of field is optimizer profile which is customized setting we are using it.
After upgrade to 5.1, the field value didn't come through by transport.
When I try to set up for this value, I had supprised due to different totally even in attribute.
So, I am struggling to set it up, could you help anyone has field mapping between 3.0 and 5.1 for optimization profile.

Error while deploying configuration profile

Hi, I'm using iPhone-4 4.3.5 GSM and trying to deploy configuration profile.
Conf. profile has defined VPN (custom-ssl) with certificates: srever and client crt
I do press install in iPhone Configuration utility.
iPhone suggests me to install profile.
I can't find anything anywhere about this issue:

Changing a deployment's file name

I'm trying to debug a large application and I'm having a problem with the Windows File name limit.
I have a project called GenericClientCalculationEngine, which creates GenericClientCalculationEngineWebApp.war. Is there a way in JDeveloper to set what filename should be used to during debug/run in JDeveloper? I'd like to shorten the name down enough to not hit these limits.
Change I just change the deploy name or do I need to rename my project?

My last reply i was mentioning about the changing the deployment profile name.
You should be able to change the deployment file name as mentioned by Shay above.
Did you check that you don't have multiple deployment profiles and you are using the wrong one (just checking) ?

Opt. Runtime in TPVS Optimization profile

Dear All,
We have small issue where we are unable to control the users.
In TPVS Optimization Profile we have maintained certain Opt. Runtime for ex: 1500 sec i.e. 25 Min. What users are doing is while running the optimization they are changing the runtime i.e. some time they are reducing the runtime manually running the optimization because this reason planning is coming wrong.
Now we want to restrict that change option in user specific level. Is ther any control by doing configuration setting or by changing the authorization .

Hi ,
While defining deployment profile, we have to define Fair Share and PD rules. Just wanted to know what is its' significance in Deployment Optimization. As far as I understand Deployment Optimization is done only on the basis of costs.

TPVS: Optimization Profiles

Dear Gurus,
I'd like to ask your help again.
I am creating the optimization profiles and facing problems.
I have ciffed about 20.000 customers and 10.000 suppliers to APO and now I need to plan shipments to all these locations.
Scenario:
10 shipping points
Outbound and Inbound deliveries for all shipping points.
All customers are source and target.
Problems:
1) open /SAPAPO/VS_OPT2 is extremely slow. For reading all data take a long time.
2) open /SAPAPO/VS01 is again extremely slow.
How can I solve the performance problem for this situation?

The performance depends on many things
1) Your server architecture
2) Number of Freight units being read at a time
3) Any split rules getting applied on the freight units (large data will further deteriorate the performance as freight units gets recreated during split)
4) Any incorrectly designed ABAP development (generally freight unit enhancements
I suggest you check following
1) Try disabling Freight unit ABAP development is any to see any performance improvement
2) Change the split size to form less number of freight units
3) Try splitting optimizer profile to limit input freight units being read at a time

Is there a way to change the automatic optimization of the Thumbnail images in webgallery found in Photoshop (CS3 or Photoshop elements-- I have both)? The thumbnails come out so blurry that it's embarrassing (for an art site). Thanks.

I've been doing custom sized thumbnails, at around 300px, but they are still a little blurry, like when JPEGs are over optimized and some isolated areas look like they are churning, one shape melting into another like boiling water. Then, I tried even larger thumbnails, and then shrunk them to a smaller size using HTML commands, hoping that shrinking them smaller would help tighten up the blurry churning areas. They looked a little better, but the churning areas remained. When I open up the individual thumbnails in Photoshop and I try using the unsharp mask or the sharpen function, it gets even worse.

Changing PM Orders Settlement Profile

Hi Experts,
In the system PM Order settlements are done against cost centers and against assets.
For this two settlement profiles are maintained and are assigned to Order Types.
For an Example lets Say :
Settlement Profile : AST01 - Asset Settlements - AUCs Created
Order Types Attached : PM01 , PM02 , PM03
Settlement Profile CRT01 - Cost Center Settlements
Order Types Attached : PM04 , PM05 , PM06
Now we want to change the Settlement profile of certain Order Types:
Say
PM05 must settle under Assets - AUCs to be created
PM02 must settle under Cost Centers
This can be simply achieved by changing the Order Settlement Profile of the mentioned Order type.
I want to know what are the impacts of the above change?

If you have made a settlement (e.g. KO88) then you will not be able to delete the original settlement rule (it should be greyed-out).
You will therefore need to put an end perio/year on this settlement rule and set it in as the last year/period. You can now create your new settlement rule.
The next settlement run (KO88) will then ignore the original settlement rule, and use the new one instead.

Am trying to call the Credit Rating Service using the 10.1.2 version of BPEL engine using the JDeveloper Designer. Have no problems calling the Credit Rating Service through the console tester but when my BPEL process called SynchBPELProcess2 calls the credit rating service I get the following error:

Lasts monday I downloaded a version (10.1.2 release, not preview/beta 3) which has the same filename and file size of the 10.1.2 GA release which is available right now.
I don't think the problem is in the PM, because i can run bpelc/obant to build my processes. however when i build them with the Eclipse plugin, it won't change the location of the wsdl (keep saying $CHANGE_WHEN_DEPLOY$).

Deployment Optimizer - Equal weightage for all the locations in the network

Hello All,
I am having difficulty in assigning equal weightage for all the locations in the deployment network. My scenario is as described below:
Deployment Source location: LOC1
Destination locations: LOC2, LOC3
I am running Heuristics to plan LOC2, LOC3 & LOC1, followed by
a Deployment Optimizer run at LOC1 to deploy to LOC2 & LOC3.
ATD quantity at LOC1 is always calculated after saftisfying the requirements at LOC1 and the remainder is deployed to LOC2 & LOC3 based on the cost settings. This seems to be the case even if I don't run the heuristics at LOC1 and start deployment optimizer after running the heuristics at LOC2 and LOC3.
The need at this client place is that all three locations are equally important even though LOC1 is the only deploying source location.
This applies for all demand categories i.e. Sales orders, Forecast and forecast at all the three locations.
I would appreciate if anybody has done this kind of configuration before and let me know how to model this.

If you think that you already follow all the steps, but the value is not as per your config, you can raise ticket to SAP about it.
But I suggest you to double check your computation.
To determine a vendor's price level, the system compares the vendor's effective price with the market price for the material.
   1. The system first checks whether the buyer has maintained a market price for the material or the material group.
   2. If not, the system calculates the market price which is equal to the average of the effective prices for all vendors supplying this material. Prices from purchase orders and prices for subcontracting are dealt with separately.
   3. The system then applies the effective price for the vendor from the conditions.
   4. The vendor's effective price is then compared with the market price and the percentage variance determined.
   5. The system then assigns a score to the variance in accordance with the settings made in Customizing.
   6. This score is valid for the material, that is, at info record level. Since the score the vendor receives for a subcriterion is based not on an individual material, but on the total of all the materials he supplies, the following steps are necessary:
   7. The system repeats the comparison between effective price and market price for each of the vendor's materials.
   8. The system calculates an average from the sum of the scores determined. This average represents the vendor's score for the subcriterion Price Level.

I'm not really sure but I think yes. Blocking a contact will only prevent them from contacting you or sending you contact request. The visibility of your account information depends on how you set it, if you had them visible to public or to your contacts only.

Dears,
could you, please, help me to find any documentation related to Deployment Optimizer's or simply Optimizer's mathematical engine? In case you have something, please, share. The only thing I heard that it was developed by iLog development company.
