Change in EIC Authentication Query and Infoset

Hi
There was a requirement to see "Bank Name" as an aunthetication ques/ans in the EIC Aunthentication query, so I changed the Infoset and added a addtional field in IT0009, and wrote code for the same.
I added the field in the query and ticked on List field also, the answer reflects on the screen but the label 'Bank Name' does not reflect in QUes area.
Any idea how to bring it there?

No relationships of any sort can exist between objects from different query areas
You have to create the same query from beginning in Global area and then transport it as follows :
1. By using the standard program u2018RSAQR3TRu2019
2. By using the transport option available on the application bar in Transactions SQ02 or SQ03.
Note : Order of transport should be :
                 User Group transport
                 Infoset transport
                 Queries transport

SAP Query and infoset rename

Is it possible to rename sap query and infoset at a same time instead of changing one by one.?

Dear Sathya,
SAP does not allow you to rename SAP Query & Info set at a same time.
Note:
The system has to lock the following objects before you are able to use the Rename SAP Info set function:
User group catalog
Info Set catalog
Query catalogs for user groups to which the Info Set that you are renaming is assigned,
Queries using this Info Set
Once all these locks have been set, the system can carry out the function.
Renaming an Info Set can, however, be very time-consuming. These locks may also prevent other users from working in the system for as long as it takes to rename the Info Set.

I have a Tcode and it looks like it is generated through ABAP Query. I know the Report name also, so how i can find the Query and Infoset Name. Please suggest me some ideas.
I have another doubt when i am Trying to Translate the text elements, After giving the target language it shows 'Empty object list'. What it exactly means.

If it a ABAP query then u will get a name like:
AQZZZ_SLO=======Z_SLO_AUDIT_IM
Here Z_SLO is ur user group and Z_SLO_AUDIT_IM is ur query name.
If u display the query from SQ01 then in the initial screen u will get an ALV report where it will show the infoset name of that query.

Hi Kalyani,
We normally go for View or infoset when the data to be fetched in BW is distributed in different tables in SAP R/3.
Had the data been available in one table we can easily build our datasource on that table but if there are more tables then its not possible to do it without Views or Infosets. You can use Function Modules to build your datasource in case it involves complex logic to figure out the data from various tables.
Depending upon the table relationships we create view and include various fields from these tables in that view. Same is with the Infosets, you can have more flexible options like Outer Join, left outer Join etc.

Can we change/Modify BI server generated Sql query and run to fetch data

My client is saying that there is an option to modify bi server generated sql query to fetch data from source.
question:As a request is made in presentation services, A dynamic sql query is generated and fetches data from source. all this is loggedin Nqlquery log..well can we change/modify the sql query generated and run modified sql query to fetch data from source. ., if so how? if not why?

Get an error for changing the windows authentication mode to the both SQL and windows authentication mode

I installed the SQL server Express 2008 R2 and then SQL Server Management Studio 2008 R2 . But during the installation, I could not choose the both SQL and windows authentication mode and an error accrued so I did that just with windows authentication mode.
Now, I want to change the windows authentication mode account to the SQL authentication mode but it shows me an error which is you do not have permission (Although I am the administrator in windows), what can I do?
Following steps are the steps that I went but I got an error:
Server properties >> security >> choose the option of SQL Server and Windows Authentication mode
and the error that I got is attached(access is denied)

You can change the setting after you gain admin rights to your SQL Server. You don't admin rights automatically, you have to explicitly add yourself during the install

Infoset is based on Joins. Infocube, DSO and infoobject can be used to make infoset.
How to Create Infoset Query (SAP Query)
Steps on how to proceed to create a Query:
ADHOC QUERY
A query can be created to extract information from master records i.e Infotypes. For example, by creating a query , the data relating to an employee contained in various Infotypes can be extracted.
Proceedure :
Decide on the various Infotypes we want to make the query. Decide on the area where we want to query i.e Global area or Standard area. Standard area is client specific and globel area will include all clients.
Menu : HR PM Admn - Information System - Adhoc Query
Select area standard and select the user group already created
Creation of new query :
TC SQ03 - Select Environment Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
TC SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset Create enter name of Infoset - Data source -- > Table join by basis table give name of table e.g pa0000 - Enter - Click on insert table if we want to include more tables give name of table one by one and after finishing, place cursor on the joining lines and right click to delete unwanted relationships - check - and go back - field groups - include all table fields - click on generate button   - go out
TC SQ03 - Select user group -   eg. Payroll
Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets - put tick on payroll - save and go back
TC PAAH - Expand the nodes and put tick on relevant fields depending upon necessity
Save the query by giving the same name as infoset for easyness.

EIC Authentication in ESS

Hello,
We are trying to set up the EIC authentication service in ESS where an employee can create/change the answers to the questions maintained on IT 0816.
At first it looked pretty straigh forward, so we set up the questions for IT 0816 , and when tried to access the service through ESS, got an error + "An error occurred while data was read from your ERP system. Contact your system administrator". + . Neither ST22 nor the portal logs could elaborate on the above error.
Digging deep into the SAP Help and IMG documentations, it seems there is a lot more needed to be done .... ( than just setting up questions on 0816).
Would like to know if anyone has tried this functionality before so that I can post more quesions as I am still "digging" into it...

Yes, you can set up the authentication questions and use them in ESS without implementing EIC.
As Vaibhav mentioned, this can be done in the IMG --> Personnel management --> EIC (just below ESS) --> Authentication. After defining the questions, make sure the query EIC_EMP_AUTH and the number field are assigned appropriately in the "Define Authentication Profile and Assign Grouping" node. Go through the help note on IMG node "Define query for authentication".

Dear Satyen,
Go to menu Edit-->Other user group, choose the user group, where u have assigned the infoset no give the name of ur query and press create button, it will display all the infosets those are assigned with that user group. Now select ur infoset and start developing the query.

Some features of BI 7 are
1. In Infosets now you can include Infocubes as well.
2. The Remodeling transaction helps you add new key figure and characteristics and handles historical data as well without much hassle. This is only for info cube.
3. The BI accelerator (for now only for infocubes) helps in reducing query run time by almost a factor of 10 - 100. This BI accl is a separate box and would cost more. Vendors for these would be HP or IBM.
4. The monitoring has been imprvoed with a new portal based cockpit. Which means you would need to have an EP guy in ur project for implementing the portal !
5. Search functionality hass improved!! You can search any object. Not like 3.5
6. Transformations are in and routines are passe! Yess, you can always revert to the old transactions too.
