Change in G/L Account group

Hi friends
This is regarding change of Account group in FS00
We have wrongly choosed profit & loss a/c instead of Balance sheet.
After transactions posted into that particular G/L account
Is that possible to change the Account group or not if possible can any one of You tell me the procedure in detail...

After posting transactions in the GL account, system will not allow you to change the account group. only option is to create a new GL Account with correct account group and transfer the balances posted in the wrongly created GL Account. After transfering the balance u can lock the old GL for posting.

    please be so kind to review the documentation regarding the transaction XK07:-                                                                               
    "Changes to the account group and the accompanying partner functions                                       
      can only be made from a lower level to a higher level. For example,                                       
      this means that a sold-to party cannot be assigned the function of a                                      
      payer as fields which have already been maintained for this sold-to                                       
      party would have to be masked. However, you can assign the sold-to                                        
      party function to a payer."                                                                               
    Therefore, you can change from an account group with fields set as                                          
    not visible to optional fields. However, if you are trying to change                                        
    an account group with optional fields to other account group with any                                       
    of this fields invisible, the system will give you the error message                                        
      "You cannot make this change because the new account group                                                
       results in the following field groups being switched off:"                                               
    And you will not be able to change the account group. This will happen                                      
    although you have not updated a value for these optional fields.                                            
    Really it depends on which is the field you want to change; there are                                       
    some fields that could produce some data inconsistency (reconciliation                                      
    account, withholding tax data, and so on).                                                                               
    Please consider that the account group controls the successing                                              
    screens and field layout plus it controls whether the numbering                                             
    should be internal or external.
    Please take in consideration all the above information before doing it.

    According to ur suggestions I have matched every thing with the old customization.
    Now screens are same,partner function and schema assignment is also same.But I am geting below warning message
    Caution: partner determination procedure will change from  to L1 on P.Organization level
    Caution: partner determination procedure will change from  to L1 on VSR level
    Caution: partner determination procedure will change from  to L1 on Plant level
    Only L1 scema is assigned to both a/c gropus.

    I created a vendor through t-code- XK01 & the accouint group is domv( domestic). I want to change the account group to IMPV( imported). In change mode(XK02) THE ACCOUNT GROUPING FIELD IS NOT AVAILBLE. PL. SOLVE IT.

    Enter Vendor code,then press Enter, Then enter new Account Group.
    System will allow new account group if both the account groups have been assigned same number range otherwise it is not possible.

    hello, friend.
    a customer number exists with only 1 Account Group at a time (exam:  0001 Sold-to, 0002 Ship-to, etc.).   however, a customer can exist as one or more partner functions (exam: SP, SH, BP, PY, etc).
    the account group, in a way, controls what partner functions the customer is created as.  for example, when using account group 0001, the customer is created as SP, SH, BP and PY.  it will not be the same for account group 0002, as the customer will be created primarily as SH, and excluding function SP.
    you can change a customer's account group.  however, there are certain rules before conversion is allowed.  these can include that the field settings should be the same, and that you usually can only convert to a "higher" account group (exam:  from 0002 to 0001) and not the other way around especially if transactions already exist for the customer.

    We have two different account groups with different number Ranges. When i try to change the customer account group from one to other through XD07 system given the following warning message.
    Customer 600021 not in External Sold-to-Party
    - number range 0000100001-0000199999
    Message number F2691
    We have tried to change this warning message in to Error message through OBMSG and OBA5
    after that also system showing warning message.
    Where we do mistake? is there any other process to do the changing message?

    If You are trying to change the account group of a customer whose partner function is Sold-to-party.
    Changes to the account group and the relevent partner functions only made from lower level to higher level.
    Example:
    Sold-to-party cannot be assigned the function of a payer(Higher level to lower level) because you are trying to change the higher level partner function.
    Your can assign sold-to-party function to a payer (Lower level to higher level) because you are trying to change lower level partner function.

  • Change customer / vendor account group

    Hi,
    I want to change the account group of a vendor. I tried XK07, but I then get a message about "Critical field groups" that would be switched off in the new target account group and then SAP doesn't let me change the account group.
    The "critical field groups", however, are not critical to me at all and they are not relevant to my vendor master account. Does anyone know how to proceed in this case and if it's still possible to change the account group?

    If the account group was set up incorrectly and did not get noticed until there was master data against the account- what can be done to correct the situation?

    Hello Rajendra,
    You wanted to know what to do so I replied accordingly.
    btw, the Account groups determine:
    - The type of number assignment (So if the new account group has the same number then I dont think it will impact),
    - A number range for assigning account numbers
    - Which fields are displayed and whether their entry is optional or required (field status) when you enter or change vendor master data (You need to take care for manatory field for new account group).
    - Whether the account is for one-time vendors (I dont think it will get affect)
    Rest of the thing will be fine.
    Try to change it and see if it throws error for any data inconsistancy.

  • Error while changing Account Group for Prospective Customer

    Dear All,
    I am getting an error when the account group of a prospective customer needs to be changed to Sold to Party
    The planned change is not allowed as the following groups would be masked by the new account group,
    S      Group                    Group Name             M                 Group Name
    V       D315                    Shipping                   030              Rail Specifications.
    Please let me know what is the reason for this error and as per my knowledge even if the no range is different for both these partner functions the system should allow me to change the account group however the earlier no given to prospective customer will still exist even if the prospective customer number is changed to sold to party please let me know otherwise.

    Go to KOH2
    Select the order by pressing F9. Now place the cursor where you want to put the order group. i.e on same level or Lower level.

  • Want to change ACCOUNT GROUP to BP from CRM to ECC

    Hi All,
    We would like to change the Account group of our (Inside/Outside sales persons) when they are replicating from CRM to ECC.  We did change the PIDE setting according to our requirement but surprisingly 10-12 BPs are not getting changed. We opened an OSS and they suggested to write a Z function module and
    registering it in the table CRMC_BUT_CALL_FU for the CRM OUTBOUND which HARDCODES the CLASSIFICATION DATA to the BP in accordance with the PIDE settings so as to get the ACCOUNT GROUP for these BPs.
    I checkede the tcode CRMC_BUT_CALL_FU for the CRM OUTBOUND where we need to place our own FM. I know to write a FM, but not quite sure how to start. Can anyone out there please help me with this.

    I was able to change the account status from EXPIRE(GRACE) to OPEN. The trick as you hint at is to create a temporary profile, assign that profile to the account in question, saving the password from dba_users first, changing the password, logging in with the new password, then alter the user assigning back the original password with the identified by values clause in the later user statement and lastly assigning the original profile, either DEFAULT or custom.
    Here is the temp profile I used which used values less than 1 for the critical limits involved here. Cannot have limit values less than 1 in 9i according to Oracle but you can in 10g.

  • Unable to Change Vendor Account Group

    Hi All,
                 Due to certain client requirement, Account group for few vendors was changed from ABCD to BLCK (Blocked). Now the clients have come back and asked for the Account Group to be changed back to ABCD.
    However, when I go to T-code XK07, it displays the below note prior to change.
    Vendor - ELMORERA
    Acct Group - BLCK
    "when changes made to acc. grp, this is to be maint. for"
    Company Code    Company Name    Purchasing Org   Description
    X000                      X Ltd.                     1000                 Purch. Org
    However, once I enter the account group (ABCD) to which it needs to be changed to, I get below information.
    "you cannot make this chage because the new account group results in the following field groups being switched off".

    To Block / unblock vendors  follows this menu path :
    Accounting >Financial Accounting >Accounts Payable
    Master records > Block/unblock
    VENDOR BLOCK/UNBLOCK:  INITIAL SCREEN   ACCOUNTING
    Enter the following mandatory fields:
    Vendor : enter the account number of the vendor  you wish to block.
    Company code: enter company code 
    Press ENTER button    
    VENDOR  BLOCK/UNBLOCK DETAILS ACCOUNTING
    Select one of the following indicators:
    All company codes : Selecting All company codes blocks/unblocks the vendor from postings on all company codes 
    Specified co. code: Selecting Specified co. code blocks/unblocks the vendor  from postings against only the company code entered in the initial screen.
    Press SAVE button 
    Delete  vendor  
    FK06
    To delete vendor  account  it need mark it  for deletion.
    Use Menu path :
    Accounting > Financial Accounting > Accounts Payable
    Master records > Mark for deletion
    VENDOR  MARK FOR  DELETION : INITIAL SCREEN
    Enter the following mandatory  fields:
    Vendor : enter the account number of  the customer  you wish to mark for deletion

  • Cust Account group field status got changed

    Hi Experts,
    One of my colleaged has executed the program : RFXPRA05.
    As a result of this some of the field in Account group (YSTP)  got its status changed
    Say for e.g Street 2 & Street 3 where optional entry before he executed the program : RFXPRA05,
    but once he has executed the program we found that both the fields got supressed.
    and some vendor master account group also got supressed..
    What is the function of the Program and where  it is used and why is it impacting the configuration for account group?
    Could anyone guide us how to restore the value back and what step we need to take.

    Hi,
    You have to find the changelogs for the configuration in the path
    SPRO>FINANCIAL ACCOUNTINGAR AND APCUSTOMER ACCOUNTSMASTERDATAPREPARATIONS FOR CREATING CUSTOMER MASTER DATADEFINE ACCOUNT GROUPS WITH SCREEN LAYOUT
    Go to the link and in the menu Utilities--Change logs. Here give the date range and find out the change logs. Using the change logs in teh recent past, you can do the correction.
    Also you can compare different systems for the table T077D using the transaction code SCMP. By using this, you can find out what is the change in configuration. You can restore it to original version. You can do the similar thing for vendor acct groups also
    Hope this helps.
    BTW...This program is change the field selection status of account groups.

  • Issue in changing Account Group of a Customer

    Dear Gurus,
    I am trying to change the Account Group of a Sold to Party in XD07, from '0001' to 'Z001' (an exact copy of '0001'), but the system is giving an Error message "Change of account group not possible; customer used in SD documents".
              '0001' = Sold to Party
              'Z001' = Non Operative Customers (who are not dealing with us now)(Same number range, same fields / values)
    I checked and made sure there are no open docs against his name and his account has Zero balance. The Customer is not having any Blocks. Still system is giving the Error message, now what to do?

  • System not changing the G/L account when material group is changed in Pr

    Hi Experts,
    Issue- System not changing the G/L account when material group is changed in Purchase requistion.
    Process followed:
    1. Create Service Pr with material group 5040 which is assigned to valuation class 3511 and 3511 is assigned to g/l account 51370000
    2. Changed Service PR material group from 5040 to 5050. 5050 is assigned to valuation class 3512 and 3512 is assigned to G/L account 51260000
    The issue is when we changed the material group from 5040 to 5050 system is not picking the g/l account which is assigned to 5050 i.e. 51260000
    instead the g/l remains remains as before which is there for 5040 i.e. 51370000
    Please let me know how can we resolve this problem and pick the correct g/l. Please find the attachments

    if you are using the item category D "Services", explanation from note  663983 - ME22(N), ME52(N): No new G/L account from material group applies:
    Please consider the following:
    You can maintain the material group both at item level and at service line level. If you subsequently change the material group at item level, the material groups remain unchanged in the services. As a result, the G/L account is not redetermined at service line level.
    In order for the G/L account to be redetermined, you must explicitly change the material group in the service line.
