Change in Macbook name to (2) - please help

Hi.
I noticed within the last couple weeks that at some point my macbook name in my finder window is now called instead of Jason Rak's Macbook like it used to be its called Jason Rak's Macbook (2).
What happened that I now have a (2) at the end of it and how can I change that back? Does anyone know why this happened in the first place? Let me know if you need more info. Thanks alot!

Hello jasonrak,
The "(2)" usually occurs when a network fail occurs or if a computer network fails or there is another computer on your network with the same name.
You can change it back by heading to System Preferences -> Sharing. From there, you can delete the extra "(2)" name to your computer's name. It's just a minor glitch that can happen sometimes due to the reasons stated above. It is nothing to worry about though.

It is really not relevant what you buy; especially with electronics, your item is "outdated" as soon as you get it home because there will always be a newer, bigger, better things out there.
Does your machine no longer do what you need it to do? If so, sell it, and buy a new one. If it does what you need, then keep it and work with it.
Apple allows for returns within the first 14 days; you can try going to a store and seeing if they will make an exception, but I would not expect it.

You either download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant and save to USB FAT disk, or you insert and use 10.6.x OS X DVD when in Windows and install and run the SETUP from there.

Step 4: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows

Select a word somewhere higher in the page then use the arrows to reach the wanted insertion point.

Video podcasts have to be in SD format, not HD. Make sure you select the proper version for your touch. If you still have problems, you can click on the podcast in iTunes and select Advanced > Create an iPod or iPhone Version. That should convert the video into something that can be played.
As far as syncing audio podcasts (I do this for video as well), I use the simple is better approach. I set iTunes to sync all unplayed podcasts and I set each podcast in iTunes to automatically delete played podcasts. The iPod is clean; iTunes is clean.

Leaving you without a computer for 45 days isn't acceptable. Call Apple and ask for a loaner or replacement. Some people have been receiving them.
If you still have no luck, then consider getting a USB 3.0 HDD and installing and running OS X on it until the replacement part is in.

In Firefox all browser windows and tabs use the same cookies that will identify you to the server.
If you open a different account then existing cookies are send to the server and the server sees that you already signed on (authenticated).

You should contact Apple by phone as soon as possible. You'll need to change your Apple ID and all passwords.

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com/, click 'Manage your account' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and see if you can change your questions/answers, and then click Save at the bottom right.

What happens when you try to change the email address ? You should be able to edit your primary email address (as long as it's not an @icloud.com, @me.com or @mac.com address) by logging into the account via the Store > View Account menu option on your computer's iTunes or by logging into on http://appleid.apple.com
