Change in ring sound

I've noticed that since the recent update that my Droid Charge rings differently.  When someone calls me the first ring is very low then it goes louder.  Is anyone else experiencing this?   If so, Is there anything that can be done about it?

That is a feature of Gingerbread so you do not get startled by the initial loud ring.  This has been posted on other forums and I have not seen any posts showing how it could be changed.

  • Changing in dial "in ear" ring sound

HI we have CME and I was wondering if there was a way to change the sound that customers hear when they in dial? Currently it is a long ring with a pause and another long ring. Traditionally in Australia the in handset ringing sound is short and repetative?
    Cheers
    Barry

    Hi Barry,
You can change this by changing the Network Locale. Network locales specify country-specific tones and cadences. In Cisco Unified CME 4.0 and later versions, you can install the files to support a particular user and network locale. That being said, I'm not sure what Locale would match the "Ringback Tone" you need as ther is no specific one for Ausralia :( You may have to experiment with this a bit.

  • No ring sound volume on incoming call, no speakerphone

My Xperia Z3 Compact is about 6 weeks old (US-unlocked) and recently the phone quit ringing audibly when I have an incoming call. When I get a call, the screen comes on and shows that I have a call, the phone vibrates like it always does and the LED flashes bright white. But no sound, no ringtone. Actually - a very quiet ringtone but through the small phone receiver speaker (where you listen to a caller with phone to your ear). All other notifications and stuff sound out normally: SMS, email, alarms, startup sound, music all work fine. Only incoming calls have no ring volume. I have checked the volume settings and have the ringtone & notifications volume slider wide open. I have changed ringtones, adjusted every sound and volume setting on the phone to no effect.
I did a hard reset and that did not solve the problem. After hard reset I let the phone update as necessay (the phone was up to date, many Sony apps updated). I did not re-install my data and called my phone a few times after the hard reset, still no ring sound on incoming call.
I did another hard reset and did not let anything update, still no ring sound on incoming call.
Related to this is the fact that on any phone call, the speakerphone does not work. If I turn on speakerphone, the caller can hear me but I cannot hear them. If I turn off speakerphone, everything is fine (I hear the caller in the earpiece, they hear me). The external speakers do work fine, I can play music, video, etc. and it all sounds fine. I have tried all of the different ringtones and they sound fine except for when someone is calling in and I hear nothing.
As an aside, this phone has not been dropped or wet or any of those things that might have created a problem.
    Any ideas?

  • Skype ring sound comes from earpiece

    Hi everyone,
On my Nexus 5, when the phone is locked, skype ringing sound comes through the earpiece instead of the loud speaker. Most of the times I am missing calls because of this. Any solution for this?
    Skype Version: 5.0.0.52727

Hi, I had the same problem and now i fixed it.
I am using Sony M2 aqua with sony smartwatch that means my bluetooth is always on. You should change the mood of Bluetooth from your skype. When you are calling someone from skype (when it is ringing), Bluetooth icon will appear right beside of camera and mic icons. Then you should tap it and change the icon to out load mood icon. It will work out again and you can hear call from speaker on the bottom. I crosschecked with receive and dealing calls while Bluetooth was off, it was working too.

  • IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION SOUNDS FOR REMINDERS?

IS THERE A WAY TO CHANGE THE NOTIFICATION SOUNDS FOR REMINDERS?

Yes you can, in the sense that this is an "Alert" sound you've set for the whole Mac software, and of course this is set in System Preferences > Sounds > Sound Effects. This will change the "alert sound" for the whole Mac.
So, No, you can't change only this particular Alert sound. If you could, it would be done in System Preferences > Notifications, and your only option there is whether you want the sound or not (Chkbox on "Play sound when receiving Notifications")

  • IPad Air - no ringer sounds after ios 8.3 update

since updating to ios 8.3, my iPad Air has no notification or ringer sounds on apps. eg I'm unable to use the Alarmed app as there's no sound. The volume works ok on music and movies.
For 2 days after the update, the home screen showed the Ringer icon flashing On and Off on the home screen when I woke the iPad up. (it's stopped this although the fault remains).
I have held the home and power button and rebooted, but this doesn't solve the issue.
    Any suggestions please?
I only updated from iOS 7 recently as was trying to avoid the dreaded update bugs....iOS 7 crashed. So does 8.3.

I'm not 100% sure that I know what you mean by "reset/restore."  If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

  • High pitch ringing sound when i plug my headphones in.

    Hi
I am currently using a Macbook Pro 15" retina display
There has been no problems previously. Out of no where, today my headphones has this high pitched ringing sound whenever i plug it in.
The audio is fine when I do not use any headphones. but when i plug them in, there is a ringing sound. This is happens as well when i plug in other headphones I have.
I have tried going to Sound under System Preferences and adjusting the stuff there but nothing seems to work.
This ringing sound makes listening to anything unbearable.
    Please help

There is a micro switch inside the socket to switch between the optical output (digtal), headphones and internal speakers. It sometimes gets stuck.
Push the headphone plug into the socket numereous times and see if it frees the switch. Please do not push other foreigh objects into the socket as you may break the switch and/or the electrical contacts.

  • Main speaker stopped working. Phone does not ring, sound only through earpiece/headphone. What to do?

main speaker stopped working. Phone does not ring, sound only through earpiece/headphone. What to do?

I spoke to the reseller today and they aggred to exchanged it. They didn't elaborate on the actual cause but thought that it had to be a hardware issue.
It could either be the issue that Euvix suggested or it could be as simple as the outer speaker is simply not working.
Anesi, did you use the phone before the upgrade? Looking at what you've written I take you didn't so I would go back and get it exchanged.

    Hello Mogulman46,
So what that means is when you have Do Not Disturb turned on, you may have an alert depending on the setting and how you are using your iPhone. So if it is set to Always, then that means that no matter what, your iPhone will not be notified. If it set to Only while the iPhone is locked, then that means that you will not get notification when your iPhone is locked but you will get notifications if your iPhone is being used. Also keep in mind the settings All Calls From can be set to certain contacts like Favorites, Everyone or no one. If you are using Do Not Disturb and you do not need it, then turn it off.
Use Do Not Disturb on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

  • How to change the alarm sound for CALENDAR events?

I missed an important meeting today, thanks to the almost-inaudible and incredibly short alarm sound in the Calendar app.
Is there a way to change the alarm sound for events in Calendar?
Setting another alarm in Clock is viable but obviously inconvenient.
    Thanks in advance!

Settings > Sounds > Calendar. Maybe it was inaudible because yoursound was not turned up.

Is the mute button on the side of the phone switched on?
Also go to settings, scroll to the bottom and ensure that "Keyboard Clicks" is set to on. Make sure that the "Ringer and Alerts" volume is not set at zero in this menu.
