Change individual page layout in a booklet document (CS3 mac user)

Hi there,
I am wondering if it is possible to change the page size/layout of individual pages in a documnent that contains many pages? I am making a book but I have some images that require a different page format to the rest. Can you please help? I am using InDesign CS3 format on a Mac. thanx
nina

Hi thanx. I had installed the trial version. But when I tried to open Page Control Plug-in the computer tells me that there is no default application to open the file. How do you use it with Adobe Indesign?

Insert a section break where you want to insert the page.

  • How can I change Workflow page layout

    Hi,
I have developed a Workflow for Business trips in company where I'm working. Workflow works fine, but I'm not happy with page layout of my workflow...it's too ordinary and too gray:(
How can I change Workflow page layout?!?
I would like to make templates for header, footer, right menu...to put company logo...
Is there any tutorial or documentation which explain it through example...
    Thanks a lot

    Hi,
For standalone workflow, you need to look at the WFA_HTML package to change the code. I'm not sure that this is supported though.
You can change the logo by putting your new logo file in the path specified for images in the Apache configuration file for workflow. I believe that the file is called something like WFLOGO.gif but I'm not sure off the top of my head. If you replace it with your file, it should appear once you bounce Apache.
To be honest, you'd be better off writing your own screen for submission (either in Forms, JSP or mod PL/SQL), and use the standard screens for administration purposes. That would give you full flexibility over the design of the submission of a process, no support issues, plus users would have their own URL and administrators a completely separate one, to ensure that it is immediately clear which environment they are working in.

  • How  to change page layout in an Appleworks document  to horizontal?

I have written a lengthy document in Appleworks 6 in vertical A4 page layout, and want to reduce it in size by printing horizontally with two pages to a sheet. The Epson 56DBAD printer doesn't seem to recognize or allow for page layouts to be previewed, and neither does Appleworks, which when I try to preview eliminates the right and left margins!
It's a simple thing, surely, to turn an A4 page onto its side and print two pages of a document side by side on it. What am I doing wrong?

With your document open go to File > Page Setup & click the second icon (the one not highlighted in this screenshot).

  • How to convert a word doc to PDF while retaining original page layout of the word document

I am trying to convert a Word document to a PDF.  When I do so, the page layout is changed, with the result that document headings that are on one page in the Word document are on other pages in the PDF.  What settings do I need to adjust to retain the original page layout after the conversion--ie. sentences/words on one page in the Word document stay on that page in the PDF.  I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and Word 2013 in Windows 8.  Thanks.

Start with having the Adobe PDF printer set as your Default printer.
(You do not want Word changing to match printer metric as this can goober output.)
Open Word. Review all Options of configuration to assure there are no surprises.
Prior to printing always perform updates of any fields (styles for auto-numbering and other such use field codes -- update all field codes before a print job).
When Word is properly configured and the content appropriately mastered then the output PDF will be spot on.
    (Input dictates output)
Ensure the installed Acrobat version and Office application versions are compatible.
Ensure the installed Acrobat is compatible with the OS in use.
Check that PDFMaker is configured as desired.
Check that the Distiller job option used is configured as desired.
(PDFMaker and Distiller are installed when Acrobat is installed.)
    Be well...

  • Change of page layout settings in bsp

    HI Gurus,
i am working on customizing a weblayout for objective settings&appraisals(ecc6.0).
I have defined the classes and methods in bsp applications.
I need to customize the page layout and split the frame work of the layout into header and details part.
I am not able to find the web layout settings(where should the web layout settings changed.
    Awaiitng on ur replies.
    Thanks&Regards
    Pradeep

    Harry,
Short answer: No - either a shape or some other media - when placed using the Document Setup options, the color shape is placed in the background of all other objects (it becomes the page color) anything placed on the page in the normal Edit Mode will be on top of the background and not hidden.
See attached images - I placed a shape on part of the document to show the original and added color - if you stretch the shape to cover the page, the entire page will take on the color of the shape:
    Try it.

  • How to change the page layout to fit 2 portlets in a row?

    Hi,
I am very new to Plumtree portal, please be gentle.
We are in the trial and design phase for our company's portal and we are tring Plumtree now.
We selected the page layout as one narrow panel and one wide panel. In the wide panel, I have a wide portlet to fit the whole row on the top, then we want to divide to 2 columns under the first portlet as the middle section of the page, so that we can place 1 chart on left side and 1 chart on right side of the wide panel.
    HOW TO DO IT?
also, now I developed 2 testing portlets in vb.net. Top one is the wide one. The 2nd one is a chart, when I deployed it in the page, the chart overlaps the top portlet! HOW TO FIX IT?

By default you can only lay out the portlets in the assigned columns and cannot span, but you could try cheating (I don't know what the impacts of this might be, though, so be careful)
Change the layout to a 2-column that also has a content canvas (darker gray box). For your portlet you want to have span both columns, set it up as a content canvas (you may have to re-register it). I think that might work, but... honestly, I don't know enough about content canvas settings to konw what might happen down the road. I'm hoping "a portlet is a portlet is a portlet"
    Like this...
[         content canvas         ] <-- put your portlet here
    [ narrow ] [         wide         ]
It also sounds like you're using gridlayout on your .NET portlet - you'll want to change that to use flow. Grid will use absolute positioning (bad here). I'd suggest reading the .NET web consumer install / developer PDF for additional info on how to get ASP.NET portlets to work.

  • Change portal Page layout from Web Dynpro

    I have some problem:
I need to rearrange Portal Page layout from 2 columns to 1 collumn from Dynpro action. Decision to hide 1 Column or resize its width to 0 is good idea, but I do not now how.
Absolute Navigation is wrong idea, because I need to go back to multiply IViews mode and I will lost my data context.
I saw PageService - custom Portal service, where I can resize IViews.
In my Netweaver 2004 this class is absent.
Probably exist some Portal events to manage Page layout? Anybody knows?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
For this we have to use eventing among the webdynpro components of two different views. You can refer this example for this.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e8d7cd90-0201-0010-4a8c-dd22fa16ca0a

  • Can I change a Page Layout into a Section Layout?

I bought a 3rd party template that I am using for my book. The most page designs show up under the Page Layout. The Section Layouts have fewer design choices. So, I want to move one of the Page Layout templates and make it act as a Section Layout - So it's not just a Page which is nested into a Section... I can't figure it out... Can someone help?
    Thank you!

You can do it by creating a new section (duplicate an existing one and give it a new name). Delete everything, and copy-paste your desired Page layout elements into it --both to the first page and the second page, which becomes the default non-first Page layout for that section. If the second page doesn't show, go into the text box and insert a page break.
I think, but I don't remember, that for flowing text I just kept and resized the text box in the original section, and reformatted the text. Not sure if this is the best procedure, or if there is a clean way of creating flowing text boxes --in my case I just thought doing it that way would be faster than investigating.

  • Social comment control in custom page layout stucks at "Working" for read access users

    Hi,
I created a custom page layout which is attched to my custom content type.
i have a custom field control which is derived from RichImageField.
i have also added a social comment control to the page layout using
    <SharePointPortalControls:SocialCommentControl ID="SocialCommentControl1" runat="server"  />.
Now the problem is, an user who have read access for a pages library should post comments. but its not working and when the user clicks post button it stucks at working. but when the user is given contribute access then it works and the comments are posted.
And one more thing is if i remove my custom field control from the page layout, then user with read access can post the comment without any issues.
i am sure the issue is caused by my custom field control but dont know how to solve it. i dont want to give contribute access to the users as they can edit the content of the page also. Any help would be appreciated.

  • How do you change the page layout for number

When I print a spreadsheet I have created in numbers the header & footers are quite large. Is there a way to change the header & footer size?

Yes, you can change the position. Do it in Master Layouts. Select the page number - a red box appears around it - select: left, center, or right justification. That will move it within the box. To move the box on the page, just drag the box to where you want it. - Fabe

  • Use 2 page layouts in the same document?

I would like to have one page of my current document in portrait layout, while the rest is in Landscape. I've added a page break, but can't get the single page I want, to turn vertical, without turning all the others. Is there a way to do this?

PeterBreis is right. Do like this (tested several times when need was):
    1. Create the whole document, and let that special page blank
    2. Based on the same template, create that unique page according to your wish
Now, if you need a printed stuff, insert the specific page when need be. If you need a PDF, export the PDFs (there are 2), import the large file into a good, realiable and free app like Combine PDFs or iCombiner (do not know which one is best, both seem to work fine), delete the blank page in the big file, insert the isolated page in the same place, re-save with a new name, and you are done.
It is not, I admit, very smooth and clean, but it works fine. Named apps may be beautifully used to cut, merge, combine any PDFs, including by combining various sizes and orientations. As long as Pages (and other similar apps) does/do not have this feature, use the additional 3rd party apps, they work fine.

  • Can you add new Page layouts within an Indesign Document like you can in QuarkXpress using tabs

I am slowly switching to Indesign from QuarkXpress but have encountered my first hurdle. I have grown up with QuarkXpress and want to change to Indesign. I work as a graphic designer and do large POS projects. These projects require many different size leaflets, posters etc but are all under one job/project. I currently use the tab system in QuarkXpress enabling multiple layouts in one file, I then can switch quickly to whatever layout i need to work on within that file. Is there a feature in Indesign which is similar to QuarkXpress as I find this a very valuable time saving feature. I am using Indesign CS 3.0.1

    >What do you mean Sandee?<br /><br />Robert,<br /><br />Sandee's comment did come across as a bit strong, eh. InDesign is better than Quark  for the most part. (Hey,even Quark has it's good points. <g>) But they are different and preconceptions of how to do certain things can hinder a user from using the program to it's best advantage. This goes both ways, but long time Quark users will almost certainly have developed some bad habits that should be broken if using InDesign. [check out theInDesigner.com podcasts. the first few are audio only but the first one in particular deals with this idea, and others reinforce it with specifics.]<br /><br />Your concern about Quark Project files does not fit into this catagory though. You will not find a comparable feature in ID. But I don't think you'll miss it as much as you think.<br /><br />I can't answer your questions about Bridge and Version Cue. I have no experience with them. [there are videocasts on Adobe TV that may give you an idea of how useful Bridge can be. Cafe Fibonacci Ep1, touches on it, Lazy Designer has a couple of episodes that show some not so obvious features.] Essentially Bridge is a common repository for all your files, and that can include your colleagues. But it's more than a way to catalogue and codify your files, you can access the rest of the suite from Bridge, you can even access specific functions of the other applications directly within Bridge.<br /><br />Version Cue manages projects. It keeps track of who did what to where and what version is current. It also allows you to submit different versions for consideration and revert specific items of your layout to previous versions  or is that Bridge? Hopefully someone with a better grasp of Bridge and Version Cue will come to your rescue. But it's obvious that there is a lot of work group functionality built in to CS.

  • How to change the page size of an active document?

Apparently, in the CS3 is impossible to do any scripting and using any actions. Can it be done using plugins sdk, without creating a new document? I tried using the functions SetPageSetup and SetCropBox but no effect

This is not exactly what I'm talking about. This is what is written about this suite in the documentation:
This suite allows you to activate, access, and modify crop areas in Illustrator documents.
Illustrator maintains a list of crop areas in a document, and these functions allow you to iterate through the list. The active crop area is the one returned by AIDocumentSuite::GetDocumentCropBox(), which is displayed with crop marks, and which is used when saving or exporting to a file.
That is, using this suite, we can select crop box of the document (area inside crop marks). I choose this area by using the function SetDocumentCropBox or using actions - PlayActionEvent( "adobe_makeCropMark",...
And how choose a page size of the document, which is selected through menu item Page Setup? Standard function SetDocumentSetup not works - as stated in the documentation, it can be called only in documents opening. :-(
