Change info structure

Dear all,
If i want to add some new drilldown/selection criteria in an existing info structure in the system, what should i do in configuration? Do i need to change the info structure and re-activate it again (update the historial data again)? Is there any risk if I go to change the info structure?
Can anyone help me?

Hi,
You will not loose the Updating rules.
You will loose only all the data in the infostructure, Namely chracteristic values and Key figure Values.
Basically the Table gets restructured while regeneration so will lose all the data.
Use MC8Q for Copying

Recovering data lost during change of unit of time for Info structure S061.

Dear Sir,
I have changed the period unit from 'month' to 'week' through SPRO>Logistic Data Warehouse>Activate update.
Due to this the data of Info Structure S061 is lost and when MCI3 transaction is executed the message " No Data found"
message is shown.
Kindly guide me how to get back the past data in MCI3.

Hi,
A update period of day/week will not work for S061. Any structure with costs must be set to month or posting period. See note [180047|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/180047].
If you want to make cost evaluations in the information system, only use the period unit 'month' or the posting period.
Once you adjust the customizing it will be necessary to rebuild the info-structure S061 with OLPM transaction. This works on the basis that a temporary version is created e.g. &(1
This temporary version must then be copied to the live version 000 using transaction OLIX.

LIS - Logistics Information systems change in info structure settings.

Hi,
I want to change the Info structure parameter of table S060 in LIS. By changing the Period split as Posting period form Months (Calander year)
This would change all the records updateding in the table w.r.t fiscal year.
But I want to know the settings where it would chage the old / existing data in the table also (ie it sould be with retro effect)
Need it urgently. Points would be rewarded

Thanks but my issue is still not resolved. The T code OMO1 will allow me to change the LIS table S060 from Months (Calander month) to Fiscal period. But I want the old existing data also to be refreshed with fiscal period.
I want to know is there any refresh method or creation of new variant process which would allow me to refresh the old data (Calander month) with new Fiscal month.

Info Structure S031 - Information on movement type categories

How can I find out the movement type categories for the S031 info structure? For instance what movement types add to the "Goods receipt" total or the "Goods issue" total. Also, how do you "switch off the updating process for specific, individual movements" as mentioned in the SAP documentation below.
The SAP documentation says:
"Goods movements are divided into the following types:
Goods receipt
Goods issue
Stock transfer
Transfer posting
Inventory differences
You can switch off the updating process for specific, individual movement types in inventory management or in one of the subsequent applications in the logistics chain."

I had similar requirement. You have two options:
1. Just as you've known you can use the field "Statistically relevant".
With this indicator, you control whether a movement type is statistically relevant for Inventory Controlling or not.
In the standard system, all movement types are set in such a way that all material movements for the valuated stock and for the vendor consignment stock are updated.
2. You can define by statistic group:
As of Release 3.0C, there is a customer-specific enhancement that enables you to define a maximum of 4 statistics groups for each movement type. The name for the statistics group has four digits and is freely definable. With the help of the statistics group, you can individually update key figures of Inventory Controlling.
Example: Key figure Consumption and Range of coverage
In table T156, the movement types are characterized as relevant to consumption. Consumption is correspondingly updated in Inventory Controlling. In the information system, it can be useful for the user to interpret issue quantities (that is actually no consumption) as consumption in order to calculate the range of coverage of the material.
Example: A material is always transported into another plant by stock transfer. In the issuing plant, no range of coverage can be calculated because the stock removal quantity is not affecting consumption (movement type 351).
What is to be done in detail?
a) Maintain table TMCA via Transaction SM31.
b) Use SAP enhancement MCB10001 for Inventory Controlling.
Here, you can change the field contents of communication structures MCBEST and MCBEST according to your requirements.
In the above-mentioned example, the source code in the SAP enhancement would have to be as follows:

Problem in Sales Info Structure - Order Quantity is not calculated in EA.

My info structure is taking order quantity in not taking EA (Each) unit of measure. Instead it is taking from the CAR (Cartons).
We maintained one carton is equal to 5 pieces.
I want to disply order quantity in EA in my info structure.

check in MC7F, select info structure S001 and see if there is an entry in the field 'Base Unit of Measure'. if the entry is 'CAR', either try changing it to 'Ea' or just leave it blank.

S063 Danage analysis                        --->S503
S065 Object Statistics                         --->S504
But probleme is when we excute S501 self defined info structure heading comes as
Standard Analysis for Info Sstructure S501: Selection where as in Standard it is coming as Location Analysis: Selection

steps to create own infostructure by copying standard infostructure.
steps.... 1) First Create your own info structure using menu path SPRO> Logistics general > LIS > Logistics data warehouse > Data basis > information structure > maintain self defined ino structure Here create a New stucture called S901 (Follow Custom defined structure naming conventions) for application 07, by copying S115 .
Once inside this Choose the Charateristic button below and CHOOSE SELECTION LIST.
This will popup a list of fields that can be added to the structure for analysis per field catalogue.
Navigate to the notification Object field catalog to select the Order number.
Select other field as appropriate from other field catalog and copy them.Then select or de-select the "Key figures" thats relevant for your needs Check ,generate and activate the same structure and save.
2) Create Update rules for updating this info structure by copying the rules of S115.
SPRO> Logistics general > LIS > Logistics data warehouse > Data basis >Updating > Specific definition using update Rules > Maintain update rules.
Enter the newly created Structure name and choose teh Update group 26 (use drop down) and enter the S115 and 26 as teh group and rules to copy from.
Delete the rules thats not relevant for your needs and then check, and Choose "generate: and then activate the "UPDATING" and save.
3) Activate the Update type for the new structure. SPRO> Logistics general > LIS > Logistics data warehouse > Data basis >Updating > Update Control > Activate Update.
Choose PM and double click on the new structure that you had just created and chosoe Period and Type of updating (2: Similar to other standard info structures). and save.
This should start updating New orders that you are creating from Now on.
However if you would like to pre-populate existing data in this structure for analysis, then you would have to run through the generation program in background for this specific structure.
SPRO> Logistics general > LIS > Logistics data warehouse > Data basis >tools > setup of statistical data >Application specific setup of statistical data > perform setup - PM.
Here make sure to do the PMIS statistical setup (This might be redundant, if you havent changed any value category that updates PMCO table) and Set Up: Plant Maintenance IS(Make sure to choose your specific structure).
You should be able to check the table entries to confirm that the program has updated the table (Name of the info structure).
The defaulted version could be different from the standard version (000).You could copy the data from one verion to another version using the first step in this block.
Once the genration is complete you should be ready to use this structure using MCIS transaction (PMIS > Standard analysis > User defined analysis).
This will list out all the user defined structures and you can pick and execute the one that you had just created.

LIS Info Structure

Hi all,
I got a problem when i created customized info structure.
This info structure is not getting data.Update mode is disabled.That means in OMO1 under updating tab
1."NO UPDATING"
2.Synchronous updating(1)
3.Asnnchronous updating(2)
4.Asnnchronous updating(3) are disabled. So please tell me how can we enabled them. In LBW1 I was able to change these updating, but still data is not populated into this info structure.So please inform me how the data is loaded into this info structure. Thanks in advance

In OMO1 double click on the infostructure you want to change updating on. Select the update mode and periodicity and save. Make sure you set up the connections with BW and this infostructure (LBW0).
Then go into SPRO->Logistics - General->Logistics Information System (LIS)->Logistics Data Warehouse->Data Basis->Tools->Setup of Statistical Data->Application-Specific Setup of Statistical Data. Then choose application area of the data you want to set up.

Transporting LIS info structures

Hi ,
We have a customized info structure sitting in our DEV box and we need to transport this to our QA system. There is a however info structure with the same name sitting in QA system, but it does not have any data dictionary tables. Should we just regenerate this info structure in the QA system or do we have to do a re transport of the info structure from the DEV box and overwrite the info structure in QA?

Yes because you are changing the infiostructure and adding new characteristics.When you do this you will have to delete the data in the active version in Production system.And then update the new infostructure again with the old documents.Depending on the old data it may take more than a day and requires system outage as well.

MCSI , Info structures

Hi there,
I want to read data from info structures like S920, S943, S948 etc. but i have too few key fields as parameter and each of these tables aproximately contains 20 million lines. As a result, it takes a lot of time for my 'SELECT' sentence to return results. None of these tables has indexes that works for my case and my basis team doesnt allow me to make new indexes for these tables because of DB capacity problems.
But, when i use transaction MCSI , it reads the same data from these tables and it takes much less time to return results. It uses RMCY9030 but when i set breakpoints at 'SELECT's of these program, none of these breakpoints work.
Can anyone suggest me a solution ?

As you want to add a new feild in the infostructure S901 then use t.code MC18 and then give your S901 infostrucuture and go to change mode go to MC19 and then add the new feild . and then in OMO1 check wheather your infostrucutre S901 is updated or not

Deleted data of info structure

Hi PP Gurus,
As per user's requirement I changed selection field period to day in report MCIS info structure S818. At that time I click ok in warning message of deletion previous data with the business approver's permission. But now he is saying that he wants historical data. Can anybody help me in this how to recollect historical data?

Thanks for your valuable help to me. I followed below steps -
1) Regenerate order cost: File PMCO - Removed test run, selected my order types and executed
2) PMIS: Statistical stup of infostructures - Info structure S818, save under version &(, number of parallel process 10, name of run TP02222012, packet size 1000 and clicked check box new run?. Then executed
3) Copy / delete version of an info structure - Info stucture S818, clicked on copy + delete. source version &(, target version 000, alredy radio button selected no copy method and checked box do not copy initional records. Then executed.
Suggest me me anything missed or any unnecessary step is there.
Everything ran succesfully in development server, but in quality server I am unable to do third step. When I am doing this third step in background system completeing this job in few seconds where as in development server it took more than 2 - 3 hours. In quality server log is showing 0 records converted.
Quality server is not allowing to do anything with version 000. Not allowing to take back up of version 000 or not allowing to delete data of version 000.
Ajit this is critical issue for me. Any cost client want historical data of infostructure S818. I am worried that in development server system allowed everything correctly and not allowing in quality server. Then how can do in production server.

No configuration is required. For change a field in mc.9 report take ABAPer help. by default month field is given as input.
