Change IP address of LDAP Server

Hi,
I am using Directory Server 5.1 SP 2 HF2, and have installed the server using a 10.x.x.x address but now need to change this to a production 172.x.x.x address. Is this an easy process and how do you go about doing this?
Are there any Sun docs on this?
Thanks
D

There is a script called admin_ip.pl provided with the directory that will handle the IP address change. It is located in the /shared/bin directory.

  • Changing ip address of one server to another in license server

    Hi everyone,
I donu2019t know if my question belongs in here; forgive me because Iu2019m a newbie here and in using SAP as well. I was designated to investigate about a recurring issue of one of our client. The scenario goes like this..
Our client has 2 stores/branches (A& B); each store has sap server and license. We normally install remote desktop and sap business one client so that their workstation can connect to the server and do their task efficient with authorization. We always receive calls that they were offline the whole night.  Why is this scenario happening? We found out that the license server ip address of store B (under license administration) was already changed to Store Au2019s ip address. They claiming that they never did anything. They donu2019t do it manually (adding store Au2019s ip add to sap b1 service mgr). Please give me any other advice/ suggestions or to dou2019s for me to be able to track if its our mistake or our clients mistake?
Iu2019m looking forward to your answers soon.
    Thanks,
    Pipay

    Hi Sir Rahul,
I'm glad you replied, I actually did the same thing. The reason why they're saying that the server A ip add becomes sever B ip add is because the ip add were change, and this thing can be possible if there's someone (maybe the user itself or client) manually change the ip address in license server or add it in service manager. BUT when we ask them, they did not change it manually nor add it. they keep on insisting, Itu2019s just automatically change and if I'll conclude that there were the one who made a  mistake, I still have to check first. What are the possible scenarios why these things happened; aside from manually add/encoding.  Is it because of the sap b1 client?
My co-worker told me that she notice this store doing this scenario: from one of server Au2019s workstation (A.1) they will connect to server B which I think can cause server A to offline. Is it possible?? Iu2019m confuse but I need to resolved this issue
    Thanks,

  • How to change password programaticaly in LDAP server

    Hi
Can anyone give suggestion how to change the password programatically in the
    LDAP server using JNDI.
    Thanks

You'll likely need to see what programmatic interfaces your LDAP provider
offers. You can use that to make invocations to change your user passwords.

  • Change network address of acs server

Put in a new backup ACS server and the senior guy put in temp host address. Now
need to change the temp host address to its permanent address but need a little clarification. Do you just change it in the Windows srvr 2003 tcp/ip stack or do you need to change it also inside the CSACS app?? Can't find it in the manuals easily.

Yes you'll need to change ACS config. Just locate the AAA Server entry for the server (in Network Config) and set the ip address to the new value.
Or you can always just enter the server name instead in case the address changes again.
tip: in network config you can enter DNS names instead of ip addresses for devices & aaa servers.

  • Changed IP address of FC Server - Now a client app issue...

Okay, so of course I changed the IP address of our Final Cut server after the install. Now, the client machines freakout when you load the client. They sit there and give you some errors. I click on "OK" and hope to see the window where you could type in a new IP address, but instead it just quits out. If you try about a dozen times it sometimes comes up, but mostly doesn't.
Any ideas? I tried trashing preferences but no luck. Must be hiding something somewhere!

Have you tried clearing out all your java and browser caches? Make sure the browser is pointing to the right URL for download... I have some users able to log into different instances of FCSvr. Each new FCSvr is saved in the dropdown of the Java client.

  • Change Groupwise LDAP Server Settings

    Hi,
When Groupwise was installed (many moons ago) I remember a dialog whereby it requested an LDAP server and needed this to install the domain and post office. We used a replica server for this information (IP address).
We now wish to retire the server that it points to (it was not using a DNS name at that time unfortunately).
Can anybody advise how we make this change - it is in Console One somewhere or in a config file. When we turn off the edir server that was used, it stop Groupwise from working (locks out users). I am assuming it is a setting somewhere that can be changed?
    Many thanks in advance,

Groupwise doesn't care a single bit about eDir once it runs, *UNLESS* it
is *specifically* configured to use LDAP authentication, which this
    system apparently isn't:
    "Hi,
Connect to PRIDOM then Tools - Groupwse System Operations -> LDAP
    Servers
At the moment this is blank (no entries)."
    (From the OPs second post)
Also, the OP *specifically* stated that he's concerned about the LDAP
question that occured *during* the installation. The *only* question
about LDAP *during the install* is the one that the installer needs
*ONCE* to create the eDir objects. This is nowhere stored and never
again needed, it's for the install *only*.
At no point in time does the installer ask about LDAP authentication
settings for the PO or system, these *must* be configured after the fact
in ConsoleOne, and we know through above quote that it isn't.
Hence, there must be something else going on here. A 8F01 error too is
in no way eDir related, but it indicates a problem with TCP/IP or the
queues directories. You get this error for instance when the queue
directory of the agents isn't accessible.
This could indicate that possibly the queue directories of the PO
possibly reside remote on the switched-off server. Which would be a
truly unfortunate setup, but *is* possible.
Whatever, this is *not* an edir related problem, Groupwise doesn't need
eDir to run at all. It only needs it for administration, *or* for LDAP
authentication. Never ever anywhere else, and eDir malfunctioning does
not and can not influence GW.

  • Message Server Unreachable (after changing IP address at host)

    Hi guys,
I changed the IP address in my server. According to note 403708, I updated the new IP address in /etc/hosts. The note also suggests me to change in /etc/services but I see no IP address for me to update.
Later when I restart my sapinstance, I see the disp+work.exe is "Running, but Message Server Unreachable". I've also updated the IP address in SM59 but I see no change.
This is what I got from dev_rfc.trc:
    ERROR file opened at 20071206 221839, SAP-REL 620,0,674 RFC-VER 3 549374 MT-SL

    T:5048 <* RfcDispatch [1] : returns 1:RFC_FAILURE
This is what I got from dev_disp:
    WARNING => DpNetCheck: NiAddrToHost(1.0.0.0) took 5 seconds
***LOG GZZ=> 1 possible network problems detected - check tracefile and adjust the DNS settings [dpxxtool2.c  3212]
    Anyone has any idea?

Yes I'm on Windows, the path that i'm refering is:
    winnt/system32/drivers/etc/services
    winnt/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
Anyway my prob is fixed now. Probably the problem is due to I did not restart the server after changing the IP. Anyway everything looks pretty fine now
    Thanks guys

  • How to change LDAP server setting in Access Manager 6.2

    Hi,
We have initially set authentication as a SunONE Directory Server 5.1 (master DS1) in Sun Java System Access Manager 6.2. In both /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/serverconfig.xml
    /etc/opt/SUNWam/config/AMConfig.properties
conf files, DS1 was set initially. Also on console's Service Configuration ->LDAP->Primary LDAP Server was set as "DS1"
Now the problem is that I am not able to change the DS1 to the other master "DS2". I set DS2 in both above conf files and also the Service Configuration page as Primary LDAP Server. I restarted the server. When I stopped the DS1, I couldn't login access manager console with any user. It looks like it is still trying to get authentication from DS1.
Does anybody know what I am missing here?
    Regards,

After hopeless tries, I finally made it work;) The trick was actually updating the sunKeyValue attribute of the entry:
    "dn:ou=default,ou=OrganizationConfig,ou=1.0,ou=iPlanetAMAuthLDAPService,ou=ser
vices,dc=company,dc=com" in one of the master DS I have.
Even though I set DS2 and loadBalancer hosts in all conf files and in Primary LDAP conf in amconsole's Service Configuration, it just didn't work until I inserted loadBalancer host in sunKeyValue attribute.
    Hope it helps to someone....

    Hi All,
How do I change an IP address of SQL Server which is locally hosted and is not on cluster?
I am asking about IP for SQL Server, is there a way we can assign a different IP to SQL Server other than the server's(host) IP address? like the same what we do in a clustered env.

  • Need help setting up LDAP server for Address Book

I've set up Panther servers before for AFP which is pretty simple but now the office I work at wants me to setup an LDAP server so they can share the same contact information, probably about 2,000+ entries. I'm guessing that this will have to be entered in the LDAP server entry by entry.
I need to know how to setup the server and what settings need to be on the clients' computers, such as in Address Book.
The server is an older G4 tower and I've got 8 computers hooked up to it on a simple network. I don't think I'll need to make the LDAP server accessible from outside the network but it's something I'll have to worry about for the future.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

  • Steps to change IP address for SAP B1 server

    Dear Guru
My company is going to change the IP address of SAP B1 server, because I am very new in this area, so pls clarify for me the following doubt
    1. May I change the IP address with the SAP B1 is running?
    2. If I need to stop the B1 services, how can I stop it? Stop at windows service level? or is there any console for me to stop the service like SAP R3?
    3. Do I need to stop the MSSQL service as well?
    4. Do I need to reboot the server before I startup the SAP B1 service?
    Regards
    Guodong

    Dear Guodong,
Just assuming you have only one question since that is the forum rule.
To change IP address for SAP B1 server, you need to Stop and restart the server to prevent the potential problem.  B1 is not the same as R/3, you have to stop all B1 related services.

Nowadays it's fairly painless - most issues arise around the admin server. With 5.x Sun provides scripts to help with this (admin_ip.pl) in the shared directory ...
