Change iweb page names

Hi,
I'm portuguese and I'm trying ou iweb to build a small website. If I create a new webpage with the name "Decoração" when I try to publish it iweb automatically creates an .html page with the name Decoração.html. When I try to view the published site every accented page doesn't work. Is it possible to change the .html name from those pages within iWeb to something like decoracao.html for example?
thanks
Mario Barros

Try using Cyberduck (set to UTF-8) to upload your site. Some people find this solves the problem without the need to change page names.

  • Changing tab page name

In the web client, How do you go about changing tab page names.  For instance, the tab page default on complaints transaction has a heading called technical analysis.  I want to change it to just analysis.  I looked in the tab groups I see the event with the tab name, however, it can't be modified there?  can someone enlighten me on where this modification can be made?

Amory, in order to change the actual name of the tab (read: event), every tab is associated with an event, lookup Tab Group, CPL_ODC1, here you see a View Swith Group assigned 'S10_HD_ANA'. When you lookup this View Swith Group, you see the description 'Technical Analysis'. Copy both this entry and replace it's description accordingly. Then copy the tab group and refer to the newly created View Switch Group. After this create an entry in the BAB tables for your application for the event S10_HD_TREE_ANALYSIS and refer also to you newly created tab group. Hope this helpes, Tiest.

  • IWeb Help! Changing web page name from Blank + activating Inspector?

I am back once more as I am having difficulties. My first problem is that I am unable to change the name of a blank web page to anything else apart from 'Blank'. I have typed in a new name, it turns red, but as soon as I press enter it returns back to 'Blank'. I am having real difficulties here as I am presenting my site very soon at University. I have not had problems up to now. To repeat, I am unable to change the name of my web page that I recently opened to anything but 'Blank'... any suggestions?
Secondly, to activate Inspector... one does what exactly? I have clicked on inspector but I cannot actually seem to activate it (in terms of been able to do anything once it has opened?) I know these are daft little problems but very annoying. I was looking for the web count in there but had no joy, I just want to be able to activate inspector... any suggestions?
    Thanks for your time here.

Most of the Inspector's functions require an element (such as a text box or image) to have been first selected by clicking once upon it. With an element selected in iWeb's main window, the related controls in the Inspector will no longer be grayed out.
Page names can be changed by clicking once on the name in the sidebar (on the left side of the iWeb window) and then in the Inspector, click on the Page tab (the second one). Type in your new page name and hit Return.

  • Changing a page name

i want to change the name of one of my pages. i have tried double clicking the title on the lefthand sidebar and typing the name i want but it doesn't keep it. as soon as i hit enter or click out of it, it goes right back to what it was. i also tried changing it on the "page" page in the inspector but it does the same thing. any ideas?

Its possible your domain file is corrupted.
To test this, go to Home Folder/Library/Application Support/iWeb and drag your domain file into the trash.
Launch iWeb so that it is forced to create a new domain file. Start a new site, add some content and see if you can change page names.
If this works then your original domain file is corrupt. If it doesn't then you need to consider reinstalling the iWeb application.
Don't forget to drag your old domain file out of the trash and store it in a folder after creating the new one. The contents will help you rebuild your site if you do in fact have a corrupt domain file.

  • How to Change iWeb page themes after the page has already created?

Once you have created a page with a theme and saved it, and then later you want to change it to another theme... How does one change theme without recreating the page?
Also, How does one add background music to a page once it is opened?
    Thanks!
    T.

I too am wondering about your first question, but I have found a workaround for your second question.
First save the audio clip as a mov file in quicktime, then place it somewhere on the page. Make it small and out of the way and hide ot from site.
Now publish the site. Then you will have to change the HTML. Open text edit and select "Ignore Rich Text Commands". Open the iDisk icon on the left and find the Web folder then follow this string Web/Sites/iWeb/<Your Site Name>/<then the page name folder, example: "Home_files">/then "Home.js"
Once opened find the quicktime file use the find feature it will list the properties twice, the second listings are the ones you want to change. Change controller="true" to controller="false". Then autoplay="false" to autoplay="true" and loop="false" to loop="true".
If you change that specific page and republish you will have to do this again, but only if you change that page. You will not if you rebublish and you had made no changes to that specific page.
    Hope this helps.

  • What are the things to be changed when changing page name, model, jws, etc?

    Hi Everyone,
    My jdev version is 11.1.2.3.0.
I have developed one ADF application with one page and it is working fine.
Now i need to change my page name so i modified and it is also working fine.
But while deploying it gives error like model-viewcontroller already exists because previous application without changes is already there in server.
without disturbing the previous application i need to deploy this changed application as a new application to the web logic server.
For that what are all the changes i need to perform and where to perform?
    Please give suggestions.
    Thanks.

You only need to change the webroot and the application name (you may try with the same application name, but I', not sure it works then).
When you then deploy the server take the ear a new application.

  • Change page name and title

    Hello,
I am using oracle apex 4.1. I created two pages with a tab set. I am able to change the page name/title through edit page properties. But it is not reflecting when I run the application/page. If I delete the page and create a new page with new page name, i am able to see it.
can anybody suggest me how to change the page name/title?
    Thank you

I am using oracle.apex.com and using the workspace created for me. How can I create an application and show it to you as you mentioned in your reply, that would be great. For questions on layout, HTML, CSS and JavaScript it's usually sufficient to simply make the relevant page(s) of an application available, either by creating an app requiring no authentication, or setting the Authentication attribute on a specific page to Page is Public. Post a link to the page with your question.
To investigate more complex problems, in areas like security, validation and processing, or relating to database objects, we need access to the app. You should create a guest developer account in your apex.oracle.com workspace. Unlock it and post workspace, username, and (temporary) password login credentials for it when the need arises. Change the password and lock the account again when the problem is solved.

  • Page-name change disables Quicktime file. Please help.

I've been using a text editor to go into the html and change the name which appears at the top of my home page. So far so good. However, I recently added a Quicktime movie to the home page. I've discovered that if I now change the page name, the movie no longer appears. Can someone show me a work round?

I am glad you got it fixed.
For the sake of readers of your thread, it would be nice if you posted the solution.

  • Tip: How to link to a non-iWeb page in the main navigation menu.

I've figured out an easy way to add a link to the main navigation menu which links to a URL of your choosing. For example, I have an older .Mac site using the now archaic HomePage. Instead of rebuilding all of my old pages in iWeb, I thought it would be nice to add a link to the old site from the top main navigation of the iWeb pages. Sounds easy, right? Apparently Apple has other ideas as iWeb doesn't allow you to do this.
    Here's a work-a-round:
Step 1.) Open iWeb and add a new page to your iWeb site. Pick any template, it doesn't matter which one.
Step 2.) Change the page name to whatever you want using the page inspector. Whatever you choose as a name here will be reflected in the main navigation menu. For example, I named my page "Photo Archives".
Step 3.) You don't need to edit this new page at all. In fact, we're going to erase all of the content in it later. Now publish your site.
Step 4.) If you're using .Mac, mount your iDisk to your desktop. Then navigate through the folders to: Web -> Sites -> iWeb -> <Your Site Name>. If you're hosting your site somewhere else, navigate to your root directory.
Step 5.) You should now be looking at all of the files which make up your iWeb site. Open the dummy page we created in Step 2 in a text editor. I used BBEdit, but TextEdit (see note below) will work just fine. For example, my dummy page is named "Photo Archives.html".
Note: If you're going to use TextEdit, you need to select the checkbox "Ignore rich-text commands in HTML files" from the Open & Save pane of the Preferences dialog PRIOR to opening the file from your iDisk.
Step 6.) Select all of the text (Command-A) and Delete.
Step 7.) Paste the following text, substituting the URL you want to link to.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"><html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"><head><title></title><meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://www.mydomain.com/mypage.html" /></head><body></body></html>
Step 8.) Save the file. You're done! You now have a link in the main navigation which goes to any URL you want.

    Hi,
I'm OK to step seven but in your example can you highlight or make bold the "url address part " I'm to replace with my own?
    Thanks!
Step 6.) Select all of the text (Command-A) and
    Delete.
Step 7.) Paste the following text, substituting the
URL you want to link to.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?><!DOCTYPE html

  • Page Name color

In iWeb 09, it seems that unlike the previous version, all the page names listed in the left hand column remain red in color whether the page has been changed or published. In iWeb 08, the page name becomes red when the page is changed and not yet published.
Is this correct? I like the old way better.
    Thanks. Tom

This is getting too weird. I tested 4 times today and MobileMe publishing worked as it should.
Just now I put up a test page to illustrate something for someone with a problem. To do this I duplicated a page, deleted all the stuff and added the new content.
Not only did all my pages turn red but I couldn't change the page name in the sidebar! I had to quit, delete the .plist and relaunch to be able to do this. Then I had to publish the whole site.
Some say its MobileMe, some say its iWeb. Me, I think Apple has to take a long hard look at the people responsible for causing us all this aggravation. It wasn't me - I swear it!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, publishing to a folder an uploading to HE is running smoothly.

  • New page names- file confusion?

Hi, I'm reorganising my site and would like to change some page names in iWeb. Is this OK, or will it mean that all the files on that page will not be 'found' any more since they have the original name ?
    Thanks, Kay.

but can I then simply change the names of the pages in the Navigation bar?
Only if you're using a Text Based Navbar and not the standard navbar.
With the standard navbar the page name is what appears in the navbar. To change what's in the navbar you have to change the page name. With a text based navbar you can put any name in the text box navbar you want and point it to the existing page your want.

  • Newbie, Change "home" page to regular page?

    How do I do that?
I just started working away at page one of a gallery.
Now I want a "front" or "home page."  But I can't seem to replace the one I've already created.  Seems stuck as "home."

Not sure exactly what you are trying to do - but is seems you want to change a page name.
In Plan View d-click on the page name to select it then enter your desired name.

  • Where is the page name stored

We have a desktop definition in production, but wants to change the name on a couple of Pages while being in production. I've tried to snoop around in the Portal database tables to find the name of the pages, but could only find the Page Label (stored in PF_PAGE_DEFINITION), but not the actual name.
The portal admin wouldn't allow me to change the page name when the page already is created from a .portal file. Since we're in production, we really don't want to recreate the desktop definition.
    Anyone got a suggestion?

  • How do I change a page url in iWeb

    Hi guys,
I used to have subwebs in iWeb to order different pages.  Now I'm publishing via Fetch to a new hoster, I find that some of the pages have retained the old sub web url, e.g. www.mydomain.com/subweb/page.
I physically dragged all the pages into the top level mydomain.com folder in iweb, but I'm suspecting that becuase i can't now publish to mobileme, its not changing the url; certainly all the pages are showing red in the iweb (08) directory.
Is there anyway I can edit the page url to remove the subweb address.  If I do it physically in Safari, the link then works, but that s a pain.
    Thanks
    Al

I think you may mean sub site and folder name. A sub domain is a different thing and has a URL something like ...
    http://sub-domain-name.domain-name.com
    Whereas you probably have ....
    http://www.domain-name/site-name/page-name.html
See this page for how to remove the folder name...
