Change job owner for job owned by a report server process

Question on a SQL 2008 Enterprise Edition (64-bit)
I have changed the owner of a couple of jobs (owned by a report server process) using Management Studio. The new user has sysadmin role just like the previous one had.
Then I kept thinking on the job's legend: "This job is owned by a report server process. Modifying this job could result in database incompatibilities. Use Report Manager or Management Studio to update this job."
Did I do it at the right place or I had to do it at the Report Manager?
I went to report manager and I was not able to find where I could change this.
So, Did I do it at the right place by doing it at Management Studio?
Thanks!
Paulino

Hi Paulino PP,
According to your description, you want to know some information about changing owner of jobs in SQL Agent. Right?
In this scenario, you did the right thing. We should edit it in SQL Server Manager Studio. Since the new owner has same permission and authority, so the job will be also executed. For some detail information, please refer to the link below:

If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can't change ownership of these apps, if they were purchased on your neighbours account, they belong to your neighbour, you should delete them from your device, delete his account from your device and add your own account.

  • Change unix owner for the database and the binaries

    Hello,
Do you guys know of any documents, from Metalink or other sources that
would lay out all the steps needed to take one database from one set of
binaries owned by a unix user to another set of binaries owned by
another unix user? The new unix user will also own the database files as
    well.
    Thank you all very much,

You may change all oracle owned files recursively, but you should be aware of the files that belong to the root user, those have SUID's enabled, and if you change the owner, networking functions won't work, among other features.
Are you planning to change the group too? or just the owner?

  • How to change a timezone for job

    Windows Server 2008 64 bits - Oracle 11g (11.02.0).
In Oracle Enterprise Manager, in Space summary, there are some Segment Advisor Recomendations.
When I try to use the option Shrink for some of them, I have errors ORA-01878 and ORA-06512.
I discovered that the problem happens because the time zone in the screen for schedulling this shrink is not correct. Even if I use the option "immediately", I have the same errors.
So everytime I want to schedule a shrink, I have to change the time zone in this screen...
Does anybody know how to change this time zone for these particular tasks (shrink) permanentely ?
And what does this change affect the rest of the system ? I don't think that the database works under this time zone...
    Thanks in advance,

  • Changing registered owner for iPOd Shuffle

I just bought an iPOD shuffle as a gift for my friend's birthday. I wanted to give it to him pre-loaded with some of his favorite songs. He's not a registered iTunes user yet. If I register the product to myself and download some songs using my account, can he later re-register the product under his own name and under a new account? If so, how difficult would this be for me to do? (he's not very techno savvy). It wouldn't matter if the songs I had downloaded got erased in the process.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer but I'm wondering the same thing. I noticed this question was never answered.
If I change to a new Apple ID on my iPhone, will I lose all my existing apps?

  • Change of owner for curve 8320

I received a Blackberry Curve 8320 from my daughter when she decided to go to an I-phone. I have set up an account with Rogers Communications, and on-line I have change the ownership of the phone in Blackberry Protect website.
I cannot manage to get through to the Protect site with the phone (message keeps saying the sites not available) so I can't change the information on the phone. As a result I can't set up my e-mail account, because I keep getting a message that it can't connect to the site, even though I have successfully got the WiFi working.
How do I solve this problem?????

  • Changing Object Names for Burst Output in Financial Reporting

I can't quite figure out how to say this so I can't even search for the proper terms to get any pertinent results. I apologize if this has been answered recently.
In FR Batch Scheduler, I am exporting the reports as PDF to a specified folder. I am bursting the report with a department, however, it does not like to save files with spaces. Instead, FR replaces any spaces in the Object name with a plus "+" sign. Is there a way to change this to a different delimiter in the .properties files? Not sure which one.
    Thus:
Date is March 2nd, 2011 and Member name is "Physician Revenue"
    Object Label:
    <<Date(YYYYMMMDD)>>.<<MemberName()>>.IESUM
    PDF Output becomes
    2011Mar02.Physician+Revenue.IESUM.pdf
    Desired FileName output
    2011Mar02.Physician_Revenue.IESUM.pdf
    Thanks
    Eric

If this is the same issue I'm having, I've been working with Tech Support - they confirmed it as a bug the other day and the patch is done but it's not ready for us to have yet. They'll let me know when it's available for public use.
When bursting, the resulting PDFs have strange characters in the PDF name for many characters such as these that we use:
and probably "space", I'm not looking at it right now but yes this sounds like your issue too. Stay tuned.

  • Change Data Source for a lot of Crystal Report

I have a lot of reports which use Visual FoxPro as datasource. We will mirgrate to MS SQL Server and change the names of tables. Is there any way to set data source to new table in new ODBC other than do it manually ? Please advice.
    Thanks.

    Hi Leo,
If you use Business Objects Enterprise, then you can use a tool called 'Schedule Manager' to update the datasource of all your reports to SQL Server - at one go!
If you don't then, well, it gets laborious and you'll have to get into every single report and use 'Set datasource location' within CR.

  • Setting Default Preferences for All Users in Crystal Reports Server 2008 v1

We are currently looking to set the default preferences in the CMC for all of our users.
I did locate this page Link: [How to set default preferences for all users in Infoview 3.1/CRS 2008]
The first part of the thread did seem promising but I am unable to find the sample .jsp code that people recommended.
I would assume that this scenario is common enough that someone knows a way to set universal preference defaults.
    Thank you

I thought I could just run it too but when I attempt to I get a Windows Script Host error:
    Script: C:\User Prefs.vbs
    Line: 1
    Char: 1
    Error: Expected statement
    Code: 800A0400
    Source: Microsoft VBScript compilation error.
I noticed the first most line seems to be markup for a web interface though I am not familiar with vbs so I may be wrong.  I used the publishing wizard to put the script on the CMC to attempt to run it through the CMC but it still does not work.

  • How to change the user for an event job as SAP_MONITORING_STARTUP_DISPATCH

    Hi experts!
We change the user that execute all our jobs. I can change the user JOB-BW for JOB-BI for this job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_STARTUP_DP, but the problem is when this job is executed by event for this other job SAP_MONITORING_STARTUP_DISPATCH, but i can't change the user JOB-BW for JOB-BI for this event
Could you tell me, how i do the change user for this job.
    Best Regards
    Ramon Sanchez

    Hi!
My problem have been solved. The job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_STARTUP_DP is automatically created by
Job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP. It is an event triggered job to handle the startup-methods which are to be processed in batch.
The event is SAP_MONITORING_STARTUP_DISPATCH; I only select the job in SM37 and specify this event and after made the search the job  SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_STARTUP_DP i only change the user.
Thank you all for your help!

  • SQL Job Owners

    Good morning,
At present, if a user creates a SQL job, the owner of that job is usually the user.  I think this is the case because the users are NOT sysadmins.  However, we are wondering of the implications of scheduling a second job to alter all jobs to being
owned by the SQL Server Agent account.  This job would run each night.
I know that it might affect users being able to alter the jobs they have created, but that isn't a problem in our environment as, ideally the DBA's would be handling all of this, or the users would be using their admin accounts (which DO have sysadmin permissions
and therefore the owner is sa (as far as i remember)).
Are there any other potential gotchas which anyone can think of?
    Regards,
    Andy

    In addition:
One obvious consequence if changing job owner is that you now won't see who created the job in the first place. I.e., the owner can serve as a type of "documentation". This is easy to fix since we can specify comments for a job, and minimum comment
level, IMO, is who is responsible for the job and what databases is affects.
If you handle above, then I don't see any issues changing job owner by those that already are sysadmins to "sa". That will not change the security picture at all.
But changing owner for jobs current owned by non-sysadmins, I do not recommend. My first though here is to ask you "Why do you want to do that?". It changes the permission situation (see the links) and somebody knowing that you do this un-attended
can create a job that this person himself isn't allowed to do, and next morning this job is suddenly executed (being owned) by a sysadmin/Agent service account. Really really scary!

  • Privilege require to kill a report server Job

    Hi all.
    I'm using Forms / Reports 11g Rel2 on a Windows box.
What privileges are required to kill a report submitted to a report server (non secure).
Precisely: if you're on the showjobs page, can anyone who access this page kill a job?
Also, is it possible to use CANCEL_REPORT_OBJECT (within Forms) for a running job?. Again, which privileges are required?.
    Thanks in advance ....!

    Sure, No problem.
You have two options actually - forgot to mention the other alternative.
1.) Oracle HTTP Server (OHS) - this will block any attempt to showjobs based on IP Address/Domain Name/etc....
That means however, you'll have to firewall off port 9002. But most my customers do this anyway - as reports are commonly accessed via OHS.
In $ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OHS/ohs1/moduleconf/reports_ohs.conf, add the bolded text to your conf file. You can do a individual or ranges of IP addresses/hostnames/fully qualified domains. Consult Google or Oracle HTTP Server documentation on deny/allow rule syntax.
    <Location /reports/rwservlet/showjobs>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    WebLogicHost hostname
    WebLogicPort 9002
    Order deny,allow
    Deny from all
    Allow from 10.1.1.10
    </Location>
2.) WLS_REPORTS solution. This lets you password protect the showjobs screen.
    - Locate and backup your reports server's rwserver.conf - i'd make sure its the right one. As a lot of people can get confused as by default Reports comes with 2 reports servers.
    - Open rwserver.conf
    - Add the following parameter in between the "<queue maxQueueSize ..." tag and "<pluginParam name="mailServer" value="%MAILSERVER_NAME%"/>" tag:
    *<identifier encrypted="no">username/password</identifier>*
    - replace username/password for your actual username/password combo you want to use. Save your changes.
    - Reboot the reports server process - if you use a reports server that runs in OPMN, make sure you reboot your OPMN Reports server process as well.
    - when you try to access show jobs, it should return an access deined. To access showjobs. add "?authid=username/password" to the end of your URL to access the page.
For more info on this: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E14571_01/bi.1111/b32121/pbr_strt001.htm#sthref63
Both options arent exactly elegant but they work :)
    Thanks,

  • How to change the icon for 'windows group' in Java 1.6 [Windows XP] ?

    Hello,
I was wondering if there is a possibility to change the icon for 'windows group' in Java 1.6...
I'm using Windows XP SP2. Now the windows from my Java 1.6 application are grouped with the standard Sun icon [screen below] on the group.
    http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/8995/iconbl1.png
I would like to change the icon for my own. Is there a way to do that ?
    Please help.

Whichever icon I use for the main frame (I tried few), after grouping the main frame and other sub-frames the icon is changed to standard 'Java Sun' icon as you can see in the screenshot from my first post. The problem occurs only when frames are grouped, when the are separated in the task bar their titles and icons are ok...
So how can I change the icon/title for the group only (for Java 1.6 in Windows XP) ?
