Change keyboard language without the globe key

If it's at all possible, how can I change the language of my keyboard on my iPhone from English to Korean (I have the two keyboards installed and ready to use)  without using the globe key to switch between the two? I find it very tedious to have to switch from English to Korean by tapping the globe key then tapping it again to switch back. Is there a way to change the setting or can I download an app to help with this? Sorry if my question doesn't make sense but that's the best way I can explain.

I think the answer is "no".
What exactly do you envision that would somehow be easier than tapping the globe key?

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Swiftkey keyboard, where is the "Enter" key???

Simple question...added Swiftkey keyboard in iOS 8 to my iPad, and it gave me a "send" key where there should be an "enter" key. How in the world do I get the "enter" key on my keyboard instead of the "send" key? I can't find that setting anywhere. The keyboard that they show when you pick a theme has an "enter" key, but mine has a "send" key. Useless.
This is driving me crazy, any hits for the hintless?
    Thanks.

I see now that it's context dependent. However, when entering text for a search string in the browser, Swiftkey shows a "Send" key instead of "Enter/Return". When I have an Enter/Return key there, I can just press it and the browser starts my desired search immediately. With the "Send" key, I press it and nothing happens other than a space character appearing immediately after the search string! If I press it twice, the browser will finally start my search.
This is just the wrong context for Swiftkey to have a "Send" key in place of the "Enter/Return" key. In fact, I'd rather have it be an "Enter/Return" key all the time, that has always worked for me in all contexts. So I'm about ready to throw Swiftkey out of the boat, although I've happily used Swiftkey on Android for a couple of years...On Android Swiftkey, the "Enter/Return" key never changes to a "Send" key, so I think that this is just broken on iOS 8. I really don't like it when keys on a keyboard change depending on context, anyways, that just a badly designed user interface.
If they don't fix it soon I'll be dumping Swiftkey until they do fix it. I really did like Swiftkey on Android, but on the iPad not so much. Maybe I can find another keyboard, other than the Apple keyboard, that works well on the iPad. Bums me out, I was looking forward to being able to use Swiftkey on iOS 8 like I could on Android.

  • How can I change Firefox language without having to download it again?

    Hi,
I'd like to know how I can change firefox language, without having to download and re-install it again. I read there is a way to do it, but I just can't find the language file I have to download. (I have firefox in french, and i want to set it in spanish)
    thanks for your answers

You need an English language version and there is no en-US language pack in Firefox 3.6. If you do not want the download the en-US version then you can install the en-GB language and switch to that version and remove the Spanish es-ES language pack from the chrome folder in the Firefox program folder.
You can find all language pack here:
    http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.6.11/win32/xpi/.
You can install language pack just like extensions.<br />
You can set the pref "general.useragent.locale" to the preferred language ("en-GB") on the about:config page.<br />
You can open the about:config page via the location bar, like you open a web site.<br />
Use the Filter bar at the top of that page to quickly locate the pref.
    See also http://kb.mozillazine.org/Language_packs
If you need the en-US dictionary then look here:<br />

  • Ipad doesn't recognise wireless keyboard apart from the function keys this has only just occurred . Previously no issue at all

Ipad 2 doesn't recognise wireless keyboard apart from the function keys this has only just occurred . Previously no issue at all.

Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

  • Apple, why did you change my Keyboard and remove the enter key?

    Hi all,
I had my new black MacBook delivered just before Christmas. The keyboard has changed from my previous Black MacBook (the one a colleague poured wine over and killed... grrr).
Apple have changed the look of the command key and removed the Apple logo (very sad), but more frustratingly have replaced the 'enter' key with another 'option' key.
I found the 'enter' key really useful, especially for pull down menu and really miss having one.
Does anyone know if there is a way to assign the new 'option' key to be an 'enter' key?
    Cheers
    Scott.

I just received a new(refub) MacBook 2.2GHz today and was very disappointed to find the enter key missing. After selling my G4 PowerBook six months ago, I was so looking forward to having the convenience of being able to slap the enter key for dialog boxes with and submitting forms without having to move my hand from the trackpad. I hope that someone will come up with a way to replace the functionality of the missing enter key.
Which brings me to my next point- There has been a big oversight in the implementation of the MacBook's replacement of the Enter Key, which is to use the FN+Return keys. It seems that when using the FN key with the Return key, the system will ignore the Command key being invoked. I discovered this very quickly. Anyone who uses Apple Remote Desktop knows that in order to send a Unix command to a remote machine, you type the command in the 'send UNIX command' window, then hit Command+Enter to send the command. Return produces a carriage return, FN+Return does nothing, and FNCommandReturn does nothing. The only current work around is to use the track pad to the "Send" button and click, which really slows things down.

  • DV7 4101eg change Keyboard Layout to use F-Keys without pressing "fn"

    Hi,
I mostly use my Laptop for working and here I often need access to the "F-Keys". Original I need to press "fn" to get the "F-Keys".
My question is how to change it back so that I have allways access to the "F-Keys" and to the Multimediakeys only when I press the "fn" additional.
    Thanks
    John

    Hi John,
Take a look on the link below regarding enabling/disabling the fn key.

  • Change keyboard-language for filevault2

i use filevault2 (my macbook keyboard-language is swiss-german). if i start de macbook, i've to insert my filevault2-keyword. the keyboard-language is automatically in u.s.-english. so there are different key for some signs.
where can i change to swiss-german? i remember in 10.7.1 it was possible to change the flag on the righthand top (since 10.7.2 there is no flag on the top)...

Have you checked the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar in system prefs/language & text/input sources?

  • German Keyboard (Where are the ä, ö and ü keys???)

It is great that the iPhone offers different keyboards and that the word corrections are adjusted accordingly, BUT where are the special characters such as ä, ö and ü??? I couldn't find them on the German keyboard. Any ideas?? Thanks.

It actually works with c, e, i, l, n, s, y and z keys too. The objective appears to be to give easy access to all language-specific accented characters from any keyboard where those character-variants are not on their selected keyboard's display. It certainly works well and is an 'in-line' way of providing easy-access to the facility without cluttering the display still further with more options that are seldom used by most people in most cases.

  • How do you get a keyboard to show the correct keys

I'm using my wireless keyboard & mouse from my old PC.  It's identified and works OK apart from some keys on it.
On the keyboard, the " character is above the number 2 and the @ is above the ' key.  However, they are now swapped around, with the " appearing when I press Shift+' and the @ appearing when I press Shift+2.  There are other issues with key on the keyboard and the character that is appearing...pressing end in an edit box does not take me to the end of the line, but rather the end of the page.
    Any ideas?

You probably have a non-English keyboard.
To the top right of your screen you should see a US flag. That means the keyboard is using the US layout. If you click the flag you will see a menu item "keyboard viewer". There you can change the setting.
I regularly switch to the German keyboard layout if I have to write in German, and the switch back to US English.
I wouldn't do this, though, as when you switch to a different language setting, you lose certain letters or symbols. I'd get a new keyboard - it's not expensive.

  • Changing keyboard language permanently

When I bought my used Mac Pro, I unfortunately set it up in USA Extended English, but I live and work in Italy, so every day, every time I restart the computer, I have to change the keyboard language, otherwise it doesn't recognize all the accents etc. etc. Every day, many times a day, change the language, throw out the original setting IUSA Extended and every time I restart... bam, there it is again and it hasn't remembered my Italian keyboard. I'm pretty tired of changing the keyboard settings every day, every time I restart. Is there a way of resetting the language of the computer without reinstalling EVERYTHING?
    Thanks a million!

Have you gone to system preferences/keyboard/input sources and removed the US Extended keyboard?

  • OSX Mountain Lion change keyboard language after reboot

My native language is Portuguese, and since the 10.8.1 update, every time I reboot my computer, the keyboard language goes from Portuguese to English.
I set it again to Portuguese and after a reboot or if I shutdown the computer and start again, its english again.
This bug is very annoying, because all the layout changes. Does anyone have this problem or know how to fix it?

I'm also have the same issue. I use the Spanish ISO keyboard settings. Every time I reboot or logout the USA keyboard appears again.
As rmz83 I only have check the Spanish ISO in system preferences/language & text/input sources on OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
Anyone knows how to solve this problem??

  • Capture keyboard characters without hitting return key

Is it possible to get a keyboard key typed character without requiring the user to enter the RETURN key?
For example, the user press a key and the screen will echo the key pressed in console mode, not in GUI mode.

Is it possible to get a keyboard key typed character
without requiring the user to enter the RETURN key?The shell that's running in your console window will not give the kay strokes to the rpogram until the human hits enter/return. This is so the shell can do all the editing (EG backspace, etc).
In unix you can put the console in 'raw' mode which lets every key stroke through. See the 'stty' command

  • Change Keyboard Language in Windows Login page

Is there someone WHO can help with a solution to a multilanguage Windows 8.1 image i'm testing at the moment.
My problem is in the login window, where i can't find a solution to set the keyboard languge trough GPO or Registry.
I have tried to set the language in the registry:
HKEY_Users\.default\Keyboard LAyout\Preload:  1 = reg_sz to 00000406 (Danish language code), but this does not Work and then i have tried to set the same in S-1-5-18/19 and 20, but nothing helps.
The GPO for setting language inside Windows Works fine, but i really need to also get the login window to use the same language, as someone is using some special charater and they can't find them, when the login window is using United Kingdom keyboard and
    not the local language.
I have search the net for a solution, but the only solution i can find, is to manually go in to the control panel > Region > Administrative > Copy Settings by choosing manually to use the same language with the "Welcome screen and system
    accounts.
There most be someone else in the same situations, where they want this set Automatic, so i can use the multilanguage image around the World?
Really hope someone has the solution to this.... :-)
Additional information is that i have made the image by using DISM to integrate the language pack to both the boot.wim and the install.wim and have set the United kingdom to the default language.

    Hi,
First,it seems that we can customize a image (use the same language with the "Welcome screen and system accounts) to test it.
Meanwhile,I suggest you follow the link to check the result.
