Change Language in LYNC 2013

Hi,
Windows 7 Enterprise Edition is installed in the machine with Office 2010 Professional Plus 32 bit German Language. LYNC 2013 is installed but it is in French language. How to change the language to LYNC 2013 to German.
Regards,
Boopathi S

Hi,
How did you install Lync 2013? From which portal did you get the Lync installation resouce?
If you installed it from MSI, a language-neutral core MSI package is combined with one or more language-specific packages to make a complete product. Your language package might be French and that's why Lync was installed in French. You can check
your installation resource to verify this.
If you have the German language pack, we can customize language setup and settings. To specify one language to install on a client computer, refer to the article below:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd162397.aspx#BKMK_SpecifyLanguagesToInstall
Read the section "Specify which languages to install" to learn how to configure the Config.xml file to specific the language you want to install.

  • Lync Outlook Plug-in displays Region and Language in Meeting Invite only with Lync 2013

    Hello,
I am running Lync 2010 right now and have a some users who are using Office 2013 and Lync 2013 client. When they create an Online Meeting using the plug-in in outlook the meeting invite shows the location and number but also displays the region that number
is coming from along with the Primary Language it is available in. This does not happen with Lync 2010 client and Office 2010. I really don't think the region name and the language is important and it makes the meeting invite look messy. Is there a way to prevent
this globally? Is this what I can expect from Lync 2013, as I am in the process of deploying that now?

Holger is right, that's just the way it is and you can't really change it. You can customize what is seen in the screenshot however.    The only thing you can really do is hand edit them, or if it's the dedicated meeting space you could
cut and paste it into a signature and customize it any way you like, but that breaks other things like some of the one-click join functionality.

  • How to change the default window size display font size on Lync 2013 main window?

    Hi champs,
Just a simple non-technical question: How to change the default window size display font size on Lync 2013 main window on Windows 7 desktop?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
Did you mean change the Lync: Change the Default Font and Color of Instant Messages just as Edwin said above?
If not, as I know, there is no natural way to change it.
If yes, on the latest version of Lync 2013 client, there is a new option “IM” on Lync client “Options” list. And you need to change the default Font and Color of IM in the interface of “IM”.

  • Is it possible to archive user presence change in Lync 2013?

We are using Lync 2013 and were wondering for QA purposes, is there a way to get or archive presence data in Lync 2013? Is the presence information only available in the client?
    Thanks!
    -Ed Rhoades
    Best Regards, Edward Rhoades II

I don't believe this is archived (but someone feel free to correct me)
    Based on the Technet article
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204900.aspx the following information is archived:
    Peer-to-peer instant messages
Conferences (meetings), which are multiparty instant messages
Conference content, including uploaded content (for example, handouts) and event-related content (for example, joining, leaving, uploading sharing, and changes in visibility)
Whiteboards and polls shared during a conference
Also looking at some of the sample reports, I can't see an option for it: http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/Sample-Lync-Server-12fb1c4c

  • Change Audio Code to G.729 on Lync 2013

I found the Audio code is G.722. whether Lync 2013 can change the code to G.729?

Yes. If you are receiving G.729 from your telephony carrier, you will need a qualified Lync gateway to handle the conversion from G.729 to G.711 as Phil Sharp posted.

  • Lync 2013 client IM emoticons changed to 8-bit versions

My Lync IM chat emoticons suddenly changed to what looks like 8-bit versions. Meanwhile Everyone else in the office that I've checked with (~12 people) still have the normal (current) looking versions of emoticons. We have this product installed on
300+ machines and no one else has noticed, or at least reported this issue.
Any idea how to get them back to looking normal?
I'm on Win 7 Ent 64-bit with most updates installed. Lync 2013 32-bit with Lync 2013 server.
I've repaired, uninstalled/reinstalled Lync and emoticons did not revert. I'd like to know what causes this if possible so I can work at some type of prevention if others start seeing this.
Normal on the left, my emoticons on the right (or below, however this message board posts them)
I don't know if they are exactly considered 32-bit vs 8-bit emoticons but I thought it was a fair description explaining the differences between the two.
When I use one face, the recipient sees the normal 32-bit version of whatever is associated with it.
It doesn't seem to impact the main functionality of the program but would indicate an issue with something that I would like to fix.
I can't find any information associated with this and have no idea where these older looking visuals came from. It's almost like a very old template that is still embedded within the Lync picture tables has surfaced.
I've scoured the options menus but there doesn't appear to be anything related to the visual style of emoticons, just the ability to turn them off or on.
naturally, :) the first thing I did was reboot. No luck.
    Ryan
PS- Images were removed because apparently Microsoft still needs to verify my account. I'll post pics of as soon as MS lets me

    Yes! That's exactly it.
Wow, why is it so hard to search for this on the web? I spent a fair amount of time searching for this issue using various keywords (Lync, emoticons, recent Lync 2013 change, etc) and 95% of the results were "How to import or create your own emoticons".
It must be too new to fall into the first page of most engine search queries.
Ok, so little rant aside, Thank you both for answering the question. Also, sorry for not responding sooner. I thought  that I'd be emailed when someone responded after having checked the option to be alerted when someone posted. Oh well, we're good
now. At least I have the answer.
Although that blog doesn't explain WHY they made emoticons dull and child-drawing like, at least I know this is because of a recent update. It looks like we will start seeing more of it when I update more computers around the office.
The screenshots I intended to post are exactly like the ones posted in the link from Michael and Paul.
Now that I have created this question it does come up on a search page, so as more people discover and query about the change they will probably find your answers here.
    Thanks to both of you.

  • Lync 2013 Privacy Relationship Default Settings to be changed to Workgroup

Lync 2013 Privacy Relationship Default Settings to be changed to Workgroup.
Is there any automated way of setting default privacy relationship in Lync to "Workgroup" for end users by means of powershell, Lync policy etc.
    Vinny Mistry

Simply, no there is not.  You could maybe hack something together using export-csuserdata and update-csuserdata and changing relationship status within the XML, but it would be difficult and unsupported.

  • Lync 2013 doesn't change status to be "In Meeting" when we have meeting based on Calendar in Outloook

    Hi Sir,
My company use MS. Lync 2013. All PCs are set as default to "Update my presence
based on my calendar information". So most of them whenever they have meeting based on calendar in Outlook, the Lync status will be changed to be "In Meeting" BUT I found just 2-3 computers not change to be "In Meeting". It still keeps
showing as "Available". Could you please advise the solution ?
PS. I already tried to uninstall and re-install but the problem still same.

    Hi,
Please check the value of CalendarStatePublicationInterval, it will control the time of Lync waiting before retrieving calendar information from Microsoft Outlook and adding this data to your presence information.
For example, to set the CalendarStatePublicationInterval to 10 minutes (600 seconds) use this syntax:
    CalendarStatePublicationInterval 600

  • Lync 2013 blank window when trying to change Persistent Chat notification options

I'm trying to figure out an issue that seems to be affecting a lot of our users.  The majority of our users are using the Lync 2013 Basic client.  For some people when they are in a Persistent chat room and they go under the options for that room
and click on Change Notification Settings the window that opens up will be completely blank.  For other users it works perfectly fine for the same rooms, and for the ones broken it doesn't seem to work correctly for any room.  Has anyone seen this
before or have any ideas what might be causing it?

    Hi,
From your description above, it may a Lync client issue.
You can try to do the following things:
    1. Delete Lync client, then also delete Lync User Profile, Registry, and certificate. The Registry Path is:HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\[email protected]
    2. Install the latest version of Lync 2013 client.
    3. Perform Clean Boot to avoid third party programs’ affect, check if the issue happen again in Clean Boot Mode. Here is the link of How to use Clean Boot:

  • Lync 2013 : two problems 1) quicked off from meeting when presenter change 2) Freeze when leaving first call of day

    Hello,
I have two problems with Microsoft Lync 2013 (see level in screenshot). The first one appeared after May Windows updates and is so annoying that I decided myself to open a post in this forum, with the second one. The first problem is the most important for
me (see why when reading) and the second one is the cherry on the cake if solved, but is minor.
    1) I'm kicked off from meetings when presenters change
In an online meeting, when presenters change, I'm kick off since last May updates (very clear since it didn't happen before). I'm unable to specify if it occurs when I'm presenter or just attendee, but that could influence. I will try to report if/when I
    notice a difference.
THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT, Please help me solve this !
    2) Lync freezes for approx. 30' to 1min. when leaving first call of day
I reboot my PC every day. I always notice that after leaving voice call from my first meeting of the day, Lync freezes (doesn't respond message) for 30' to 1min. This is when I leave audio, not meeting window. This never occurs again in the course of the
day. Windows goes into hourglass, then it works again.
Does anyone know about this ? Any action to help diagnose or solve this ?
Again this is less important than first problem
    Thanks for help
    -Pierre

The steps to remove the update:
Open Control Panel, click Programs, and then, under Programs and Features, clicking View installed updates.
Click the update that you want to remove, and then click Uninstall.
For Lync 2013 May 2014 update, it is KB2880980.

  • Office 2010 MUI in Finnish and Save and Send function not working after upgrading to Lync 2013 MUI

Problem is as follows. Used to have Office 2010, Outlook 2010 and Lync 2010, everything was working. People used it in Finnish and seemly quite a many of them used the Talleta ja lähetä (Save and Send in Finnish) in Office products.
After upgrading Lync to 2013 version, with Finnish language pack installed with it, the Save and send does not work in Office 2010 if it is used with Finnish as display language. When you try to use it you get a Mapi error and reason is undefined or something,
hard to say what it is exactly in english as the error message is in finnish. On those machines if the display language is changed back to english the Save and send works as it should.
    Any ideas?

The problem was caused by the Language Packs for Lync 2013 or Office 2013. Without them all works.
And if you want to just unisntall the 2013 lang packs, then you also need to repair install the office 2010 ones to make it work again.
