Change Language on iPod nano
I just purchased a new 8Gb iPod nano online from Apple as a gift for my daughter. For some reason, it is set to a foreign language (Korean, I think). How do I change it back to English? (Please keep in mind that I cannot read/understand the items that are displayed.) Thanks for your help.

Changing language on ipod nano
I just got this thing for my kid and i have spent all day downloading the software to get the thing to work. Now it is displaying in the wrong language. I think it german. I have tried to reset it and nothing is working.
Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings and you can start over: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

Changing appearance of ipod nano screen when connected to nike
My wife just upgraded to a 4th gen ipod nano, and uses the nike workout recorder. She has noticed that the screen information about the workout is huge, but the music selection is tiny and unusable.
How do you change this?I have two identical ipod nanos. One continually freezes up when I connect it to either my laptop or my imac. The other works just fine. They were bought at the same time and place. Same issues as you folks. I can unfreeze it by holding down the menu/select buttons. I can listen and view what is already on my ipod. I just cant update it, format it or anything else. It just freezes as soon as it is connected to either computer. Anyone have any solutions?

MikeyIf the menu on the 3G is the same as my 4G it is try this. Push the menu button several times until you are sure you are at the main menu. Select the 3rd option. Go to the 3rd from the LAST option and select this. Select the 1st option. You should be back in English.

Hello to my always excellent community who always gives me the right answers. I switched my iPod Nano library from my PC to my new macbook air with the help of an excellent and courteous gentleman. The info on my Ipod and on iTunes still shows my Ipod Nano as a windows device, just want to confirm that is ok. Next issue, which is, as usual, is prob my wrongdoing. When I locked my iPod it used to show the time of day, don't even know how I got it to do that and can't remember if it stopped doing so before or after the swith. Can anyone please advise or help? I hope Thank you and if you do reply, thank you in advance for my lack of tech terms and look at my username
I see that there are a lot of views and no replies, so it's clearly a user issue...SHOCKER!!!
In trying to figure out the above; I stumbled upon the link below which taught me how to change/update my iPod Nano to show Version 1.0.2. Mac rather than the windows version 1.x.xPC it was still showing after I transferred my itunes library from my old pc to my new macbook air......I didn't dowlnload the iPod updater 2006-06-28 for Mac and once I did....whoa!!! I got my calendar and reminders on my nano now it's like a new toy all over again, just follow the steps in the below article, if I can do it, a 2 year old can

I changed my old Ipod Nano 4G to a new 7G and I can't believe it..
1) where is the title search funtion? - why is it removed?
2) where is the cover flow? - why is it removed?
-- quite the same day by day - new generation and the old one will be better...Maybe it's the looking from your side, but I can't understand why everybody thinks he knows what the customer wants and needs. I think - put it in, if somebody will or can't use some feature it's not a problem, but if you have used it in the past and you haven't it now, you are engry.
My 6-person familiy - we use 6 Iphones, 1 Ipad, 5 Ipods 4G, Classic and 7G and the understanding about the missing functions comes not from mine, it comes from my children 13years, and they have smaller fingers
... I'am also waiting since the Iphone 3GS-4GS to use my phone like a business phone, we have IOS 8.1 and you always can't sync the Outlook ToDo-List and I can't use my Outlook calender with all categories and colours .. - I was waiting now to the new 6series - and it will come with ?
YES - a new design,
- looks cheaper not so high-end than the 4GS+5GS metall series..?
- bigger and superbig like a little Ipad - so can't put it in your pants and jacket?
- new connector like 5GS, so I can change everything, HIFI-docking stations can't be used, fix mounted charging station in my business car should be changed.., charging docking stations in my office and so on...?
so what's going on with Apple...
Tell me why I should change to the new series, if I get only things I don't need or used things will be missed. - I will lose a lot of money to change everything, like the actually problem now with the first new lightning connector of the new Ipod 7G of my daughter...
I'am with you - design and technic must be balanced, but we haven't problems with the amount of RAM to reduce functions - at the moment a lot of people around me can't find the motivation to buy new things, because you can be sure, you get 4 new features you don't need and you also lose 5-10 features you have used day by day - and you can't see it before !
So and old adage says, "Don't touch a running system!"

In Itunes or on the ipod video is there anyway to switch the audio languages. I have decrypted a movie two different ways. I have included the total languages and also just checked for the Spanish on the other. On the one with total languages it only plays in English, on the other it does not play the language at all. it is on Audio 2, but I can't play it on my itunes in Spanish. Any help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

Not at this time to my knowledge. Only full media players like QT or VLC currently seem to have the ability to switch audio tracks during playback. While it is possible to create QT/iTunes/iPod compatible files with alternate audio tracks, neither iTunes nor the iPod appear to currently have a "control" to switch from one to another. You can, of course, either create separate versions -- each with a different audio track -- or use QT Pro to re-designate primary/alternate track settings in a single file and re-sync it each time you wish to changes languages. -
I have a frozen iPod Nano 4G. After syncing it gets stuck at the language screen and cannot proceed any further.
I have tried holding down the Menu and click buttons for >6 seconds, without luck. Have reset to factory settings and re-syncd, but it keeps getting stuck at the language screen.
I suspect it is the latest version of iTunes causing the problem, as I just installed it a couple of days ago and this is the first sync since the update.
24" Intel iMac 3ghz C2D, OS X 10.6.7, iTunes 10.3.1 (55).+Do you have access to, another Firewire enabled Mac, that you could use, to attempt a retrieval of data, using Firewire Target Disk Mode?+
A question on this Firewire Target Disk Mode - If I could get access to another Firewire enabled Mac and connected the two together, host #2 to Target #1, with a Firewire cable (6-pin to 6-pin), and power the two up, even though #1 would not be booted up to the desktop but just have the hard drive powered up, would the hard drive of #1 be accessible to #2? If so, would I be able to perform any repairs or do anything to the drive to enable it to bootup the #1 computer? This would be similar to when I remove and hook up a 2.5" IDE-ATA PC laptop hard drive to another PC computer, usually a desktop, via a drive adapter and USB 2.0 cable, as an external drive. When I do this in a PC, it's usually one that is unable to boot up to Windows due to malware or other problems. I am able to see the files and folders on the #1 computer's hdd and then clean out any malware (virus/spyware), or add/replace any corrupt/damaged Windows files that might be keeping the #1 computer from booting up. After that, I can usually return the hdd to the #1 computer and boot up normally to finish any clean up or change any settings.
I had considered taking the hdd out of this damaged iMac computer and attempting to hook it up with a PC, but after seeing how difficult it is to get to this hdd and not sure of what I'd do when and if I did get the two connected together, I put the idea way back as a last resort. I wasn't sure I'd even be able to see any folders or files on the Mac hdd due to the differences between OS X and WinXP. And, after reading that Macs aren't susceptible to malware, I didn't know what I would be accomplishing. -

IPod nano showing oriental language
My iPod nano menu is now in an oriental language and can't seem to change it back to English.
You can either restore your iPod to bring back the language selection or you can do this:
1. Turn on the iPod
2. Scroll down three times and select
3. Scroll to the bottom. The last option should still be in english that says reset all settings select it and select reset (or the bottom one if it's still in a foreign language)
That will bring you back to the language selection without the need for restoring.
Hope this helps

Hello,
Bought a Nano today and trying to set it up. Selected the wrong language. I am not sure if I'm getting the "eject before disconnecting message" and I'm not sure what to do next!Hello sheri85,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information, take a look at:
iPod: Changing the display language
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1824
If you have an iPod nano or Fifth Generation iPod (iPod with video):
Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it.
Scroll up one menu item. This should be Settings.
Press the Center (Select) button. This takes you to the Settings menu.
Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it; in English, this is the "Reset All Settings" option.
Scroll up to the third menu item from the bottom one. This should be Language.
Press the Center button to select Language.
Select your preferred language from the list.
Have a nice day,
