Change language package?
I bought a phone that showed out to have English and French as its language pack, but I need the Scandinavian. I can't even write SMS messages in my own language with this phone, which is hopeless. Can I change the language pack easily to Scandinavian languages, and how? It's a Nokia 5230.
If you can manage with english language in the menus and you can deal with just having additional writing language, you may install swype from Nokia Betalabs.

A lot of language packs (more than 30) are available in swype, dont know about Hindi though.
I use it on Nokia 701 with english menus and swedish writing language for instance.

Windows 7 Enterprise Edition is installed in the machine with Office 2010 Professional Plus 32 bit German Language. LYNC 2013 is installed but it is in French language. How to change the language to LYNC 2013 to German.

How did you install Lync 2013? From which portal did you get the Lync installation resouce?
If you installed it from MSI, a language-neutral core MSI package is combined with one or more language-specific packages to make a complete product. Your language package might be French and that's why Lync was installed in French. You can check
your installation resource to verify this.
If you have the German language pack, we can customize language setup and settings. To specify one language to install on a client computer, refer to the article below:

You can always go back to the previous default language originally in the folder AMT languages following the above path (in my case renaming the .txt file it.IT Vs en.US)

Hello, I have a similar problem, but in JSF application and the mine is more frustrating. When I put my language (catalan) in the locate configuration int faces-config like this:

the application appears in english instead of catalan. In spide of exist a class called BLAFBundle_ca wich contains the needed texts in catalan for show the ADF components, I coulden't do work. When I put "es_ES" instead of "ca" the components are showed in spanish correctly, and if I put "de" is showed in deutch correctly.
I decided decompile the class MessageBundle_es_ES from adf-faces-api.jar, put it in my source project without change its package. I modified a validation message and it worked. I decide the same for change the ADF components literals ("expand all", "select all", "next"...) and I found it in BLAFBundle_es_ES, I found it in adf-faces-impl.jar and in uix2.jar (this last not used in my project). I do the same steps with the previous file, but doesn't works !!! -

I am looking to do a program in netbeans 4.1 and I am looking for advice on how to create a set of methods on changing language to english to french and german. The labels are in english I wanna make this code a bean so I can change the language of the labels on the property sheet.

I know how to change language in the document. But always when I open pages I have to do that. I have to start working from change the language from english to polish. I checked my settings and in my system preferences I have polish everywhere. What should I do to change this in pages once and forever?
May you try to ctrl-click the Pages.app icon to get the contextual menu offering the entry "Show Package contents" ?
Open the 'Contents' folder to get :
Open the 'Resources' folder and select every whose name ends with .lproj minus the pl.lproj one.
Move the selected folders to the 'Resources Disabled' one.
Doing that you will force Pages to run in Polish.

How to change language in CS4 applications?
Hello,
for giving exact instructions for a german client, I need to change the interface/menu/tools language in Illustrator and Photoshop occassionally from English to German. Is there a way to do this?
(if not possible to do this temporarily, would a complete new installation of the whole CS4 suite in German be possible? I try to avoid this, of course, as I will have to put it back to English in a few weeks again)

beatriceI bought a CS4 Upgrade in JUNE, and it has taken until yesterday for Adobe to tell me that a separate license/serial number is needed for each language. I have only been able to confirm this by consulting this forum (Windows).
The problem has been that I ordered a UK English version but was mistakenly given a Spanish disc with an invoice saying it was English.
When I reinstall the English language package, then change the User Interface language in Preferences, on relaunch I get a 30 day trial of CS 4 Extended in English!. I am running this trial for the second time, which Adobe say you cannot do!
I am unsure yet whether I need simply a different (English) number for this disc or another disc.
Technical Support have referred this case to Customer Services.

To add insult to injury, they also overcharged me. The invoice simply says "199" with NO CURRENCY. I have had to ask twice now for the balance to be returned.
Is it any wonder that people use pirated software! The "Support" is non existent. -

I bought elements 11 in Begium (DVD in the MediaMarkt). at installation I could not chose dutch, I installed in English. now I bought a manual (book) which is in Dutch. can I change elemnts language to Dutch? are not all languages available on the DVD disc?

Check the packaging. Since the language is determined by the serial, you may have ended up with your English version because of that. Otherwise you may be able to circumvbent the issue by deactivating and installing the trial version in Dutch, then inputting your serial....Change product language

Change a package to become a dependency of another
i was wondering if i could change a package to be a dependency, Well, i know i could use abs to change PKGBUILD.
But yesterday gnome was upgraded on my machine, and i got an error with a package. I suspected it was because gnome was running, and was a little bit quick just to kill X and install the package explicit. Now i didn't get any error messages, but the package was no longer a dependency of gnome. Go to Solution.Nokia does not offer user-installable language packages.
Nokia just creates different firmware versions with sets of different languages based on the countries/regions the phone is manufactured for.
At the factory, the phone receives an identifying "produc code" which determines also which firmware updates Nokia offers for it. So, when you use Nokia's Software Updater, or the over-the-ai (OTA) updating of firmware, the phone sends the product code value to a Nokia server, which then returns the correct firmware (including the fixed languages specified by that code) for that phone.
A Nokia service/repair center might switch the phone to a different firmware variant with different languages, but as the language combinations in firmware packages is fixed, you cannot choose languages individually.
So, in other words, there is no Nokia supported way for you to add just an individual language to your phone. -
Hi .. I bought my N73 from Bangkok ... But I m living in Russia and I have a big problem that it doesnt support Russian Language ... It doesnt show any letter of russian ( shows squeare signs ) I upgraded My firmware but it didnt change anything... I have just Thai and english ... And is there any possiblity to change font also ... In "messaging" fonts are very thin and hard to read... Bold font would be great ! Thanks in advance for any help ..

You will HAVE to get over to an NSP to have your language package changed, as you now have a Thai version of the phone... They'll almost certainly be able to change the language package or to add Russian to it...

Last edited by formoza (2014-08-01 20:00:31)Things changed recently with the introduction of the "mintlocale" package in Linux Mint, which now handles this in Cinnamon.
For now, to add new locales you need to still use the /etc/locale.gen and locale-gen way of adding them.
To change language used, you need the mintlocale package installed. -
what key(s) do it type to change language from english to other? i am writing a story in dual languages. I was told to click command and space bar together but it is not working.
Command Spacebar opens Spotlight as you have found out. If you want to change languages you need to say what app you are using to write the story in, I'm guessing you are using Pages or MS Word. If that's the case
Pages: Open Inspector - Click the T tab - Click Language and change your language.
MS Word: Tools Menu - Language - Choose your language.
