living in the Netherlands but english speaking, how do I change to language prefs to English in the App Store
my system is in English but for some reason or other the App Store is in Dutch

For purchasing your credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

But before making the upgrade to Ios 5 I was able to have the iTunes in italian (since in Switzerland we speak german, french and italian) but now only the blody german is available, i can change the IPAD language to italian or english but the iTunes dont change .... so pist off... i cannot use it!!!!!

This changes the actual store. There are dozens of stores. Each store is posted in ONLY ONE LANGUAGE. Changing the country (actually, it changes the store) doesn't change the language. The language is hard-fixed for the particular country's store. You cannot change the language of the store. You can only change the store. The German Store is always in German. You can change to the U.S. store, but you can NEVER download / purchase anything from a different store than the one where you first got your Apple ID.
You could create a new Apple ID in the U.S. store, but that is only allowed WHILE YOU ARE LOCATED IN THE U.S. This is the most annoying limitation of the Apple ID and flies in the face of Apple's attempt to present a globe-trotter image for their customers.

These instructions are for changing the language for the Ipod Touch, but they don't change the language for the App store and the Reminders Application.
I think these two might be driven by the IP address of your location. In my case, I am in Spain and have my Ipod Touch set to English, but for the App store and Reminders, it appears in Spanish.
I would like to be able to change them to English if possible. I don't see any options within those applications to make this change.
Does anyone know how to make these changes?

Yesterday, 48 hours after I rented it, I tried to change to the US app store but they are telling me I can't because I have rentals that have not expired, even know it's been more than 2 days since my last rentals. Sounds like you accidently got changed to another store....
So, go to Settings>iTunes & App Store, and click on your AppleID at the top. Then click on View account, sign in, and then click on Country/Region, and follow the instructions to change your store to South Africa.
That should take care of it!

All apps, and other content from the store, are tied to the account that downloaded them - so any apps that were downloaded by the previous owner can only have their updates downloaded by his/her account. If you want to be able to download updates to those app with your account then you will need to delete the apps from your phone (which will also delete their content) and buy/download them with your account.
If you are being prompted for the previous owner's id for your own apps then try tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and log out of it and then log back in with your account

When I try to change my country in the Account section of the App Store (and the ITunes Store) I receive the message "You have a store credit balance; you must spend your balance before you can change stores."
I am unable to understand the reason for this and can't find a way around this. The amount of credit remaining in my account is less than the price of any App or Song.
I am also concerned after reading other threads that if I change countries, whether the Apps purchased in one country will still be available in the new country.
Some have proposed using credit cards to change the country for the account, but accounts funded through vouchers exclusively should be able to be able to change countries without this requirements.

Anyone know how to change apple ID in app store. It will not let me put in my ID

I have the same problem. I downloaded Yosemite in a user account not realizing that installing it in the useraccount would install it to all accounts.
I went back to my admin to install it there. When I try to install it it uses the Apple ID for my user account, not the one I want to use. I went back to delete the download in the user account and I can't delete it without using my admin username and password, however my admin username and password will not work for anything in the user account but it always works when I use it in the admin account.
Does it matter which Apple ID I use to install Yosemite? I'd rather use mine but it will only accept my wifes.
