Change log for Z field while doing a direct update

Hi ,
I have a Z field added to the EKKO table and the change log is activated . Any change to the Z field from the transaction ME52N is updated in the CDHDR , CDPOS tables .
The issue I have is now i have a requirement to update this Z field through a program . I could update this field but the change doesnt get into the change log . But the change done from the program appears in the front end screen i.e ME53N.
Please help me on this.
Regards,
Hari.

Hi Hari hara Kumar,
As far as my thinking, there is only one solution for this, do a recording/BDC(I know that Enjoy transaction BDCs are not successfull but as you have only 1 field to update, you can have a try) to update the Customer fields  or Using the BAPI you can update the same to get change records, but it will be a long procedure to add Z field in the BAPI structures and then do that required coding, better is to have a try a with the BDC. I will never ever do a direct DB table update using a Z program for Standard tables.
Thanks & Regards,
Faheem.

    Hi All,
I need the change log for custom fields added in BP transaction codes.
Basically, for tracking the changes of master data in CDHDR and CDPOS tables we will enable the checkbox of dataelement related to custom field.
As for SAP fields in BP transaction code the change history is reflecting in CDHDR/CDPOS tables. i have enabled that for custom fields added to BP transaction code but i could not see the change history for such fields.
Please let us know if iam missing any other thing?

  • Activation of ODS fails: Change-Log Request ODSR_... does not exist in ODS

    Hello Experts,
I have a problem loading in an ODS object in Release BW 3.5. This load is in parallel to loading in a Cube and InfoObjects from 10 different SAP sources monthly.
Everytime, I load data, Activation fails. The Error message is "Change-Log Request ODSR_... does not exist in ODS ..." These Requests (30 requests) are very old starting with the Go-Live date of the application in 2005. If I search for the first Request in Reconstruct, a request without a InfoPackage-Name is found and if I reconstruct the request, all other new loaded Request are activated and everything is fine. The next month, the same error appears, but without the one old request in the list reconstructed the month before of course.
A few months before I had to repair loading and deleted also requests in the ODS. Then I realized my mistake, that reconstruction is not possible, because the request was gone in the reconstruction list. So I searched for the PSA Request in the ODS reconstruction list, found the requests and reconstructed these. Could this be the reason for my current problem?
But how can I stop this error? Reconstructing all of the requests did not work, because one request says, no active update rules exist for this request. So I stopped reconstructing every request of the long list.
Please help me, I could not find any helpful information until now ...
    Many thanks in advance,
    Hannes

    Hi,
For the old requests that you don't want and that are not valid, goto the monitor for those and mark them red. After that you won't face any problems while activating the new requests.
The reason this is happening is that during activation BW thinks that these old requests are valid as they are green and tries to activate them as they are in squence. When it dosen't find them then it gives the error. If you mark them red, they are ignored and the next request is taken into consideration.
    Cheers,
    Kedar

  • Change logs for Z table.

    Hi All,
I am trying  to fetch the old value and new value for the z table field.Change log is activated for the Z table. but i dont know how to fetch the change logs.
SCU3 is the standard transaction to see the change logs for all the tables.
Is there any table where the change logs values are maintained?
Does anyone know how to get the change log value?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Amruta.

    Hello,
If for a specific set of tables no change documents are triggered by SAP you can always setup your own Change Document Object with transaction SCDO.
Of course you need to be careful with this transactions (how big is the table data, how many changes, etc...).
Table logging is something else, they are stored in table DBTABLOG and can be analysed via SCU3.
For table logging you need extra system parameters to be set, they are explained in SAP Note:
Note 1916 - Logging table changes in R/3
Pay attention with table logging because a lot of tables are logged in DBTABLOG once you activate the parameter, this can have a major impact on performance.
To have an idea what other tables will be logged, check tcode SE16 on table DD09L and put an 'X' in field PROTOKOLL, result will be thousands of tables.
In your specific scenario I think it is best you go for the change documents with SCDO.

  • Change log for CRM service order

    Dear Experts,
I've created log profile in CRM under IMG path Customer Relationship Management->Basic Functions-> Change log with protocolo " Changed document "  & segment " PRICING_I ". This log profile is attached to transaction type service order.
Basic idea is to capture the changes made on the pricing in service order. Now with this setup where can i see the trace of changes done in service order. Is there any table that fills with the log  ?
Basically i'm trying to find log DB table for pricing with this setup. Can anyone pls suggest me to resolve the issue.
    Regards
    Devika.S

    Hi,
there are no change logs for CUMULAT_H object because this is only a temporary object in CRM Order buffer. Check for example the function module CRM_CUMULAT_H_READ_OB. You will find out the this module does not read the CUMULATE_H from the DB cumulates the values by reading the item values.  Because of that you will also see that in view CRMV_OBJECTS the change document relevance is not maintained for this object.
So you will not a change entry for CUMULAT_H in CDHDR/CDPOS. As a workaround for your requirement you can read the changes of CRMD_PRICING_I-NET_VALUE from the change document tables or write a change entry on save into a customer field and/or table.

  • Change Pointers for the fields PERNR, GBDAT and PERID

    Hi,
I want to know, how we can delete/de-activate and then add/activate Change Pointers for these fields. Is my Question a valid one? Please guide me if I'm wrong and help me in this issue.

    Hi Suresh,
I didn't get your point exactly. With this report, we can only Log the Changes that has been performed on a Particular Pernr or an Infotype. Actually, if see go through my Previous Post, you will get Clear Idea. Actually, I'm looking for the Concept below:
Actually, I'm using the Standard ALE Process for Masking Master Data fields (PERID and GBDAT) with default values from one system to another using the Message Type, HRMD_A (which will be used as a Standard Message Type for HR Personnel Administration and Organizational Management). For this, I' have used two Conversion Rules in the above Message Type. To make this ALE trigger, I have to Run the Report, RBDMIDOC. But, before trigerring the ALE for all the Employees in the System, I want to test the ALE for few Employees, whether it is working properly or not. For this, I think, I need to delete the Change Pointers for all the Employees except for the few Employees whom I want to Test. But, I don't have any idea, how to delete those Change Pointers. Please guide me some solution or provide me some document where I can find exact procedure for doing this. Guide me, If I'm going in wrong procedure.
    Thanks in advance,

  • How to see the change logs for billing document

    Dears,
Could you please how to see the change logs for billing document.
My client is using ECC 6.0 & if i use VF03 > Environment > changes > does not show the changes i had made.
    Thanks in advance
    Ranjan

    hello, friend.
you should be able to see changes done after the initial creation and saving, by going thru Environment > Changes.  try it again, and this time make sure that changes were done to the billing document prior to posting to accounting.
normally, when configuration of Billing is done correctly, there will be little or no instances of changing anything in the Billing document,  as saving the document after creation will post this to Accounting.  of course, inclusion of a posting block in the billing type will provide you the opportunity for changes.
    regards.

  • Change logs for tcode WE20 and MN04

    Hi Gurus,
    Good day.
Please help. does WE20 and MN04 generates change logs? If yes, please advice on how to check change logs of both transactions.
    Thanks in advance.

I have never seen change logs for WE20.
MN04 is creation of conditions. as conditions usually stored in own tables, the change history needs to be activated for these tables via SE11 first.

  • Change Log for Purchase Order

    Dear all,
Just today, we've found out that one of our buyers always change the PO quantity when the supplier deliver more than they should.
Before we do something like lock her access or even remove her from current position, we'd like to know how often and how much is the impact of her actions.
We know that we can see the changes from the change log for every single PO; but if we want to know the changes from several hundreds PO ... looking at the log one by one may not a good idea .. LOL ..
Do you have any experience with this or any idea on where (the tables) I can take a look ?
    Thanks,
    Markus

    Hi Markus,
The details of  the 'Show History' function, for the  Purcahse Order, is contained in the ADOC (header information) and the AD01 (Row information). These two tables contain the exact same information as the OPOR and POR1 (Purchase Order header and row tables).  However, the history of all marketing documents in the database is saved in this table so there is a need to filter this table based on the Purchase Order documents only.
What I would suggest is to create a query based on the ADOC and ADO1 and filter it based on the field 'ObjType' (Field Name is 'Object type'). The object type for the Purchase Order is '22'. As each update to a document is saved in the table there is a need to distinguish each version of the document. This is done with the 'Loginstanc' field in the both the ADOC and the ADO1, so this may help you with the query. After that the query can be filtered for any field that is visible in the Purchase Orders.
There are other childeren tables of the ADOC which you may need. To find these, when in the Query Generator, open the 'Choose from List' to obtain the list of tables. Then in the 'Find' field type the letters 'ADO' this will bring all the tables starting with 'ADO' to the top of the list.
One final thing, each update to a document is recorded to a usersign. Obtain the user sign of the user in question by running a query on the OUSR table and look at the figure in the field 'Internal_K' for that user. This is the number that will then be visible in the field 'UserSign' in the ADOC table.
    I hope this helps

  • Creating change log for sales order

    hi all,
i want to create change log for any given sales order if it exists.
can any one tell me how to do that??

    Hi Gouri,
CDHDR and CDPOS are the tables for all change history.
CDHDR contains the details such as who made the change, when, using what tcode and the change type ie. update, delete.
CDPOS contains the field name which was changed, its old value and its new value.
The change document object is VERKBELEG for sales documents.
The object value is the SD document number with leading zeros.
The following link will be also useful.

  • Change Logs for TCODE -- FILE

    Hi Friends,
Please help me in finding the change logs  for the TCODE  FILE,
i.e  The changes made to the Logical paths
I had tried  Utilities---->change logs , but unfortunately i cannot find any changes logs
But there are changes made to the logical paths in my system but i cannot see them in change logs
    thanks
    chandrasekhar j

rec/client is a profile parameter, you can view the settings in transaction RZ10.  However I find program RSPARAM more useful, the report lists all system parameters with their default and altered value.  Also if you double-click on a parameter you can get to the full help text for its meaning.
The parameter essentially switches on table change logging for configuration tables (based on the technical settings of the table) and has to be set before the changes are made.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the impact - Activating Change Logs for Material Classification Dta

To activate Change Logs for Material Classification Data I must first set the flag for "Multiple Objs Allowed" for the Class Type 001 Material Class. I am curious of what the impact of setting this flag will be. Also, is there a way to measure the DASD impact of activating the Change logging for this data.
    Thankyou
    Kevin

In addition to the performance impact the process of turning on Change Logs for Classification data will convert the tables KSSK and AUSP to use an internal SAP number as a key instead of the Material number. This will cause problems for any custom programs that access those files directly and expect the material number to be the key. This file conversion occurs during the execution of program RCCLUKA2 which is used to Flag the change logs for existing records. This can be reversed by running report RMCLINOB. Because of the above impact we decided here to NOT implement this change in production.
