Change Mail COntacts First Name Last Name order

When opening contacts from Mail the contact names are listed and sorted by First name. How do I change this to listing and sorting my last name first?

I believe it honors the preferences in Address book. Try Opening Address book and going to Address Book > Preferences > General Tab > Select Name order and sort by.

Changing Mail, contacts, calendars name field

hello probable something simple but how do i permanently change the Name Field in the "Mail, contacts, calendars" setup.
I press details to enter my own but each time i do the name field is over-written with a previous owner or user of the mac.
Until this is complete i cannot sync contacts and calendars as i want to, using OS X Mountain LIon.

Go to System Preferences > iCloud
Sign out of the current Apple ID
Sign in with your ID.
System Preferences > Users & Groups
Change name for current User.
However, I HIGHLY suggest that you create a new User and move all your data to the new User or do an erase and install.

2) Backup your data to an external drive using clone software. While booted from the clone erase the internal drive and reinstall OS X.

You will need an external drive to create the clone unless your internal drive is large enough to create a second partition large enough to hold all your data.

Cannot tab out of contact first name field in CSXSRISR

Hi,
For some specific customers, we have this strange issue. If a value from LOV is chosen for the contact first name, last name or email, user cannot get out of the field. There is no error message. Unless the contact field is cleared, the user cannot enter any more details or save the SR. Does anyone know why this would happen?

Hi Alka,
Dont you see any message at bottom left corner of Oracle Apps screen?
Looks like some validation is failing when exiting the field.
Also please check if there is any personalization/customization in the form.

Hi Susie, I use Norton 360 and have the latest Firefox 8 installed is working fine for me. Firefox 8 support for [http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Firefox-8-Support-for-Norton-Toolbar/td-p/581640 Norton Toolbar] was released on Nov 8th. Contacts' first name field gets inserted in last name field when syncing

I have a strange behavior when syncing between iOS and the Mac:
A few contacts that I have only have a first name, let's say "Anna".
Everything runs fine on iOS - I write that person a mail and everything's fine. But the moment I write Anna a mail on my Mac the last name field also gets the entry of the first name field, thus leading to the contact "Anna Anna".
All I can do now is delete the last name field and everything's fine till I write a message on my Mac again.
Note: this problem only occurs on my Mac, not on iOS.
Second ote: the moment I'm sending the Mail on my Mac, iOS gets this error over sync.
Third note: I recognized that Mail.app's autocomplete/history of contacts has somehow stored those accounts like "Anna Anna". Removing the Previous Recipients from the list hasn't solved the problem yet.
This problem only covers 4 of my contacts, but being the most used ones this is driving me nuts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yup have tried resetting the contacts setting to switch it the wrong way round, didn't solve the problem - then back to the correct way round, also didn't solve the problem.
It's just the way that sometimes it shows firstname then lastname, and sometimes it shows lastname then firstname. Not one or the other but both ways round.
I have txts in my inbox that are first name first, underneath txts that are lastname first.
All very confusing I'm sure you can imagine!!

Contacts - First name / Last name

Hi all,
I have a Nokia N95 8GB on Vodafone.
My contacts are organised so they show First Name then Last Name in the address book.
However in txt messages they only show this way round sometimes.
E.g. sometimes they show First Name then Last Name, and other times they will show up Last Name then First Name.
Very, very anoying when it's the wrong way round sometimes, and the right way round other times.
I have the latest software for my device.
Any ideas!?

Address book sync with google contacts - first names and last names flipped

Hi,
I am trying to sync my mac address book with my contacts in google/gmail and I have a strange issue. All my contacts written in english alphabet is syncing correctly, but when I have names in Korean characters, the last name and first name gets flipped. Without fail. All other fields seem to synch correctly, but the first name is mapped to the last name field, and vice versa. I have recently upgraded to OS X Lion on an iMac.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do recall, however, that I stopped doing it because the sync went haywire. I did it the other way around: I have all my contacts in Address Book, so I exported them and uploaded the vCards to Gmail, after deleting all Gmail contacts. That's not such a great option. Surely this is well-automated by now?

Changing a Salespersons First name on their account is reflected in some, but not all places

We have a BI Chart report against our Sales Cloud application which displays a total of Pipeline dollars grouped up to the Direct Report. The report is displaying the data as we expect it to except when we made changes to a user's name. We had a request to truncate the first name down to a first initial but it did not reflect in our report.
When performing the name truncation we went directly to the user's account and dropped their first name value down to their first initial and a period. This change is reflected accurately when polling the column: [Employee > Employee Name].
However our chart is using: [Employee > Sales Resource Hierarchy > User Organization Direct Reports Name] which is not reflecting the change. When navigating throughout the application, the Organizational Hierarchy and Reporting Manager fields all display the truncated name accurately but when using the second column stated above it is still returning the full (original) name of the user.
Any thoughts?

Sorry for the lack of activity on this. I submitted an SR in to Oracle and what needs to happen is initiation of the hierarchy build/rebuild job (not exact job name). This can be accomplished by going to Resource Directory, opening the organizational hierarchy, choosing 'edit this version' and then saving. This will execute the rebuild process.

Order of contacts=Open contacts. Click on menu bar>preferences>general.
What little emoticon?
Color permanently=as far as I know, you cannot change it.

Sort Contacts by [First Name, Last Name] on Phone

I currently have all of my contacts in Outlook saved and "Filed As" First Name, Last Name. When I go to sync with the phone (through iTunes), the phone still shows all my contacts sorted as Last Name, First Name. I have tried deleting my contacts completely several times to no avail. I am so used to searching by first name first. Can someone please help?
BTW, I did try searching the forum first. Most threads discuss the use of Address Book, which seems to provide a solution. I have not found any solutions to this problem using Outlook though.

On the iPhone, go into settings/Mail Contacts Calendar and choose sort order under "contacts" as "first, last".

as I understand your posting, you are not looking for the Vendors name but for the maintained contact data. If thats correct, please take a look at table KNVK if you search the table with your vendor number in field lifnr, it will give you all maintained contact data.
FM WY_KNVK_FOR_VENDOR_CUSTOMER might help.

Contacts Name Order Reverting

I have a client that currently is running an old and very out of date SBS 2003 server that hosts their Exchange & AD. We have convinced them to upgrade but are looking about three months out for that to happen. In the meantime they have a new
COO. This COO has around 7,000 contacts. Many of those come from her gmail contacts list. The problem is, we import the PST with all of her contacts, everything shows properly for awhile, They should show as last name, first name. After
about two hours of the names being correct they automatically become first/last. Even worse, going into the contact shows the option "Last, First" Clicking save from there corrects the name but correcting a few thousands errors every
few hours or even re-importing the PST every few hours is not feasible.
We have attempted to recreate the mailbox, recreate the AD profile, remove all Google Outlook plug-ins, etc. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening? It has completely baffled me. I know this is an old server but it's all

Unfortunaltely your phone has only one name field (no separate last name and first name field) and PC Sync combines the names from Outlook in First Last order and that cannot be unfortunately changed.
If you insert a name to phone name field, there is no way Pc Sync could know is the insertion done First Last or Last First and it syncs thus to Outlook First name field everything.
This is how it has been with old Nokia phones which do not have separate Last name First name fields (since Nokia 6210) and PC Sync from the beginning and changing it in one release to Last name First name order would create duplicates to each phone that has been previously synced with earlier PC Suite release.
With very new Nokia phones and all Nokia smart phones there is a separate first name and last name field and those phones are of course synced acoordingly with Outlook and the problem does not exist there.

I've bought the phone in replacement of my Blackberry. I was gone buy another BB but then had this N97 in my hands and i must say that this phone is amazing. When i see what this phone can do for our business. Exchange, office applications, pdf, gps, .... So for me it is a real must to have in business. To buy this phone as private person to play around is a waste of money. But of course you're right also that this phone is 100% multimedia.
