my user is asking to change standard SAP message from error to warning. Can I do it in Controllinggeneral controllingchange message controls.
He is asking for KI message class and message no-281.
User is entering cost object for the balance sheet account and asking us convert error message to warning. The message is appearing as follows."Error Do not assign any objects in cost accounting to account 7091000 ".

You can change it via OBA5 transaction. Enter application area KI, and set 'W' flag for 281 error message.

Message control and output type. In R/3, message control is a mechanism by which documents are output based on certain selection criteria, requirements, and sequences. Message control determines the type of document, its timing, number, and medium (print, fax, ALE, or EDI.). Outbound messages in SD (Sales and Distribution) and MM (Materials Management, Purchasing) are created and processed by message control records. The output records are stored in the NAST table.
Message control uses the condition technique. The conditions for creating an output message are stored in condition tables that have selection fields picked from a catalog of application fields/tables. To determine if an application document qualifies for output, search strategies are used through access sequences, output procedures, and requirements. Once a message qualifies for output, message control modules use the parameters set in the condition type or output type to determine the timing of transmission and the medium of the message. Message/output determinations are concepts applicable not only to EDI and ALE, but also to other output mediums.

ALE-IDoc : Outbound message control for MIRO,IDoc message type for INVOIC

Dear Experts,
                    I am using the IDoc message type INVOIC. For that i have created the new output type. Then i assinged the the Program RSNASTED and form routine ALE_PROCESSING.
                    But when i am saving the transaction in MIRO i am getting the Update Error like VN 056: Processing log for program RSNASTED
                    Please help me to rectify this problem

Message Control clarification

When a purchase order is created, the message control processes the associated messages to create IDOCs or Printouts etc.
Does anybody know whether the processing of the messages happens after the creation of the purchase order (i. e. after commit) or before commit?

When I remember correctly: neither nor. It is IN commit, because it's part of update modules (of course only the 'immediate' messages).

Transport Class Messages from SE91

Hi gurus;
One question: For the IP we had created some messages assign to one class message em SE91 transaction. But now I don't know how can I transport it to the productive system.
Can any one help?

Hello Ricardo,
You can try this:
- Enter t-code SE03
- Choose 'Include Objects in a Transport Request'
- In 'Selections by type and name', choose radio button 'Selected Obejcts'.
- There, click on checkbox at empty line.
- In the first input field available (2nd of the column), enter MSAG if you want to transport a message class, or MESS if you want to transport a message class number
- In the input field at right, type your class name, or type your class name+message number concatenated (ex: if class is ZTSCPM and message number is 003, then type ZTSCPM003).
- Execute, and then hit 'In Request', and create the request.

Change Message Control for Customer Master data

I have to choose/populate a message when the user is about to create an already existing customer.
In SPRO --> Financial Accounting --> Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable --> Customer Accounts --> Master Data --> Preparations for creating customer master data --> "change message control for customer master data" ...
OK...
When u click this it goes into Change View "message control by User" Overview screen wherein u can insert new messages and texts and the type of message ....
Now .....
I want to display the 145th message (F4 help of the Message column) ..... it picks up the text "Customer found with same address;check"..... with Online mesasage type 'I' and batch type 'I' and with standard type '-' ..
I want to have the same message with message types 'E','E', and 'I' respectively.......
How is this possible (or) what should i do to meet my requirement :-|

Change Investment Management message Control

I am setting up Investment Management, and I would like to know if its possible to change message BQ151 to a warning. this message stops you allocating more to an order than is available in the total budget.
The reason for doing this, is that we want the option to have unbudgeted orders, so it is possible that an area may exceed its budget.
I cannot find any message control options in Investment management, or where the change options are for application area BQ.
Does anybody know where these message are configurable?

I want to change the warning message: 5U265 (number of exmptns/addl withholding should be blank if exempt is selected) to an error message- hard stop.
Where in customizing is the message control that will let me make that change?

You may check if the BADI 'PC10_PAY0007' is implemeted in your system. If this is the case, change the code in method
VALIDATE_AFTER_INPUT to make the check as error ('E').
           c_msgid = '5U'.
           c_msgty = 'W'. "<=change to 'E'.
           c_msgno = '265'.
In addition, if you have decoupled framework activated for IT 0210, then find the class name from table V_T582ITVCLAS and check the code in method SPECIFIC_COMPUTATIONS_EXIND, or similar methods of this class. If the same message is issued there, then copy a new class with then corresponding code change to 'E'.

Transaction SE91 is used to create message-class. You may define message and message number in the class.
For Message control, relevant transactions are:
WE81 - Create Logical Message Type
WE82 - Assign Message type for Idocs
WE20 - Partner Profile
WE21 - Port Definition
WE30 - Develop Idoc type
WE31 - Development Idoc Segment
BD21 - Generate Idocs from Change Pointers
BD50 - Activate Change Pointers for Message type
BD64 - Maintanence of Distribution Model (Determine the Distribution of Idocs)
NACE - Condition for Output Control
Message type: ORDERS
Idoc type: ORDERS05

This has to be done thro development only
Only some messages of message class V4 can be done in t code OVAH
Go to SE91
1.Input the message class V1
2..Input the message no say 061 in no and execute
3.select the message no and click on where used list (ctrlshiftF3)
4.select the box programming and deselect all others
5. Then a list of programs where this error message is used will appear
6.Double click description on the right side of your screen
7.Here you can see the codings written for this message 061 which can be changed to warning to error
Note
The best way to do it is with ABAPer only
Not recommended to change the standard settings

How to change To address in Lion Mail message list pane

I quite like the new Lion Mail app although I return to "Classic Layout" whenever I need to sort and clean up my inbox, but for general use the two-column layout with the message list on the left and the selected message content on the right works nicely for me. I would however like very much to change the "To" line in the message list. Currently my list of received messages shows "To" on the first line to the right of a picture of the "To" person. On the far right of this line is the time or date of receipt in blue. Under this first line is a little icon with "To" or "Cc" - sometimes, and that is followed by the subject. On the right of this second line is the mailbox and account. I have set preview to no lines to keep the list as compact as possible.
What I would dearly like to change is the To address in the first line. I know who the To is - it's Me! Occasionally the To shows another name if that person precedes my name in the list of recipients. What would be VERY useful is if this data showed the From address!
In the Classic View I can move the email columns around, adding new columns and removing them. Either way, in my inbox I can have the From address right in front of me. Is there any way of changing the To address to the Originator address - the From address - in the message list in Lion mail?

Thanks, but that controls the header detail shown for the message in the right pane. So if I select a message in the message list on the left pane, the method you describe controls what header detail I see in the right pane when the selected message is displayed. The piece of data I really want to change is the first line of the message information contained in the message list in the left pane. It currently shows the To address in this window, which is useless to me; the From address on that first line - next to a picture from my address book of whoever is sending the message - would be infinitely more useful.

PO outbound message control - Condition record / PO IDOC outbound user exit

Guys,
I have a system with PO outbound message control sending PO idocs to a unique plant that is set up as a customer in the partner profile. I am using a custom message type and RSEOUT00 to send my idocs with custom message type to this plant. This interface works fine. Now my requirement has changed. I need to send PO's to varying plants (depending on the plant in PO item- all items on my POs belong to same plant).
I noticed that i cannot create condition tables with PO type and Plant combination. (SAP Note 457497 .Q-34).
So I have decided to populate all my PO idocs with a generic receiving partner number '9999' and planning to change this somewhere in a user exit. I found an user exit which looks helpful.
EXIT_SAPLEINM_001 . FM
MM06E001 - Enhancement.
But somehow this exit is not triggered in during PO creation ME21N or change Me22N/Me22.
Is this because I am using a custom message type instead of standard message type ? (I still use the process codes Me10/Me11). Would this matter ? When should this user exit trigger (during creation of idocs in status 30 or when i run RSEOUT00 to sweep these idocs in status 30 to status 03) ? Any tips will be useful.

I found a OSS note -Note 457497 (Q&A # 34), which talks about the same . This was my assumption too. I was just confused because I saw plant(WERKS) in the field catalag of the access sequence.
I don't know what header field I can use to map the plant (I agree its a good idea to do this). But I have decided to do it another way. I will change the receiving partner on the control record depending on the plant in an user exit
- EXIT_SAPLEINM_001.
