Change morning event's end time makes it PM

Using iCal 2.0.5 ... if I create an appointment at, say, 8am the default end time is 9am. If I change that end time to 10am, the AM changes to PM. (If I change minutes, it doesn't seem to do this - only when I change an AM end time to another AM end time.)
Now it gets weirder ... if I create an appointment at 4am and change the end time from 5am to 10 am, the am changes to pm. But if I change the end time from 5am to 9am, it doesn't. Then, if I change that new end time of 9am to 10am, it stays am. It's only when I change the end time from 5am to 10am, it changes.
I also tried this on my PowerBook G4, and the same thing happens.
Anyone else experiencing this? Anything I can do about it?

Yes and no.

Yes, yes.

Possibly, yes, no.
> Q: What performance gain can I expect? Does Premiere take advantage of QUAD CORE or should I stick with a high end DUAL CORE?
Dunno but significant, yes, no.
> Q: Should I worry about DDR3 or a higher frequency DDR2?
No, just what the mobo supports.

What do you mean, screw on fans?
I'm not familiar with current ASUS mobo's. Base your choice first on chipset and socket, then on RAM, then on other features.

I'm not sure if it is Time Machine that is adding the additional numbers to the end of the name of the Macs, but it is definitely a bug associated with Yosemite.
All that you can do at this time is open System Preferences (gear icon on the dock) and then open Sharing and edit the name of the Mac so that it displays correctly.  You may have to do this almost daily, since the bug will continue to add (2), (3), (4), etc to the name of a Mac.
We will have to wait for a fix from Apple.

  • Change End time of Recording in Progress?

I know I can change the start and end time of a single show in the View Schedule menu, but this only works before the show has started recording.  Once the show has started recording, it disappears from the View Schedule menu.  Is there a way to adjust the end time of a single recording while it is being recorded?  For example, if I'm watching a game and it is running long and I want to add 60minutes to the end of the scheduled recording time.  How do I do this?

Well, that's a bummer.  Love most things about FIOS, but the menu for the DVR really can be maddening.  Cox's was much more limited but also much more usable.  I wish Verizon would spend less time on widgets and more time on the UI of the DVR menu!!!
    Thanks for your reply!

  • Ical loses event name and time

    Dear communitiy,
i got a serious problem with ical syncing with an SBS 2008 Exchange Server. It often happend lately that I created a new event via right-mouse-click on my calender (which is on the Exchange account). Let's say at 16.15 pm. Then I normaly change the events name and time. After a day (can't tell exactly, most times after a reboot) I find that event having changed its name back to "new event" and the time back to 16.15 pm. I'm absolutely sure I saved the event after changing it. For your Information: The Exchange account syncs with my iPhone and my Macbook at home. OSX is 10.7.2, the iPhone is iOS 5.0.
    Any help would be great.
    Regards
    Philipp

Yes, I have the same problem and cannot resolve. The only common theme that I can establish is that this only appies to repeating events. Did you find a solution?

How do you update it? Basically what has happened my password was disabled for "security reasons" on sunday (21/10/12), so i tried to reset it, but for some reason i couldnt get into my old email (probably because i havent used it for 2 years), so i read on here i could swap it to a new email that i currently use (which is what i have done) ive swapped everythin over to it (facetime, iCloud etc) but keeps coming up with old email and asking for password

  • Bug(?) with iCal - Can not change the event time

    Hello all,
First of all, let me preface my question by admitting that I'm new to the Mac world, transitioning from MS environment. So please, be a bit patient
    Now, on to my problem:
I have created events in iCal and I can not change the time for any event. The time that's always displayed is 15:54! I have checked the time zone setting to on/off to se if it makes a difference, but to no avail. I have also gone into preferences and under the General Tab, the Day starts at and the Day ends at: show three (3) selections; Noon, 15:54, Midnight !!???
I have changed the Show hours at a time, to see if that makes a difference, but it does not.
To add to the above mystery, I have created events with my mobile SonyEricsson K850i, with the correct time(s), date, etc., synchronized with iCal and the time changed to 15:54!!
This is a new MacBook Pro, with the latest patches! For some reason the iCal applet does not allow any changes to the time.
Any suggestions/help will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi
I am having the exact same problem you discussed and was wondering whether you ever found a solution.
    Cheers,

  • Calendar View: Unable filter Recurring Event by Start/End Time and Group by Recurring Event View

    Hi All,
I have just found several issues with Calendar View from WSS 3.0:
Unable to filter by [Start Time] and [End Time]
I am not sure why these 2 columns doesn't appear in the Filtering column in the View Settings. The workaround found in the internet is to create calculated column for Start Time and and End Time. However, it doesn't work for Recurring Event, the calculated column will show only first recurring event Start Time.
    Unable to use "Group By"
When I create new view in Calendar using format: "Standard View, with Expanding Recurring Events", there is no option to specify "Group By". Anyone knows how to show all recurring event in List view and grouped by Start Time (or any other column).
Thank you and apprecate for any idea.

    Hello,
I got this from a colleague of mine so I can't take credit for it but here might be a possible workaround:
    1. Create two new Columns called Start Filter and End Filter.  Make these columns Calculated Columns with formulas of [Start Time] and [End Time] respectively.  The columns should be of the Date and Time\Date and Time type and should not be displayed on the Default View.
    2. Click Advanced Settings and choose Yes to the question "Allow management of Content Types" in the Content Types section.  Click OK.
    3. Click on the Event Content Type.  Open the two columns created in step 1 and select "hidden" for both of them.  Click OK.
    4. Back at the list settings create a new view or edit an existing view.  When you get to the filter section choose "Show items only when the following is true" and select the following:
    Start Filter
is less than or equal to
    [Today]
    And
    End Filter
is greater than or equal to
    [Today]
    5. Click OK to save the view.
    6. Open the List view web part that is displaying the recently changed calendar and change the view to the newly created or newly edited view.  Click Apply, OK.

  • It says iCal will default events with no end time to one hour..and mine used to..but since I upgraded to Lion it doesn't.  Any suggestions as to how I can get it to default events to one hour?

My iCal used to default to one hour when I posted an event with a start time and no end time.  The user guide says it will default to one hour.  Since I started using OS Lion, my calendar doesn't do that.  Can anyone suggest a way for me to get the calendar to default to one hour again?  Thanks.

    Dana,
Here are some iCal data entry tips from iCal Help:
Enter a name, date, and time duration for the event, and then press Return.
For example, you can enter “Super Bowl Party Feb 5,” “Movie with Rebecca on Friday at 7pm,” “Soccer Game on Saturday from 11am-1pm,” or “Breakfast with Jon,” and then press Return.
If you don’t enter a time duration for the event, iCal sets the event’s duration to 1 hour.
If you don’t enter any time information for the event, iCal makes the event an all-day event.
If you enter “breakfast” or “morning,” iCal sets the event to start at 9 a.m.
If you enter “lunch “ or “noon,” iCal sets the event to start at 12 p.m.
If you enter “dinner” or “night,” iCal sets the event to start at 8 p.m.

  • Change default events stop time

    Hi there,
Is there any way to change the default start and stop time for new events?
When I make a new event, always stop one hour after start time
I want to make 20 min events
    Any hack?
    thanks and excuse my english.

Hi, It's interesting that you say recordings from Freeview should be as you say. Does this mean that my Vision box's time is out? Where does it take it's time sync from I wonder. As the box is connected to The Internet, it could sync from a time server the same as a PC does. I'm not having problems with programmes overrunning and that clashing with a scheduled start recording time, I can see that would cause a problem. It's the fact that recordings are starting 2 minutes early. I have watched this happen a number of times because when you are watching, you have a message on screen asking you what to do, stop recording the current programme, or not record the one that is starting. If you happen to be looking at the Vision box when that happens, usually by stopping the current recording, you can get away with that, as most programmes are over well before the actual end time. Then the new recording will start. But if you're not looking at the Vision box, it makes it's own decision, which is usually not to record the starting programme. Although I don't record any of the Multicast channels, if I did, the the fact that they start 2 minutes early would cause a problem. Why do they start early? It just causes unnecessary annoyance. Thanks for replying though.

  • How do you remove the time of the  start of an event and end of an event

I just want to see my times of events and not the calendar start and end time.

Sorry - I was very unclear.
I'm actually talking about a full-motion capture, which used to exist on my timeline as a separate object (I thought it was an animation object), and now looks like this:
I guess that red line there is the full-motion capture - how do I make it for a shorter duration?

  • Can't view time or change start/end time of clip

Using imovie '09 and have several events that I imported from .mov files. imovie displays the total length of the clip but when I run the cursor over the clip in the browser the little timer window that pops up says "Created:" followed by the date/time that it was originally imported from a camera into .mov format. Every other file that I've imported directly into imovie from a camera gives me the running time of the clip as I run the cursor through the clip. I've tried to adjust the clip's date/time but it won't let me create a start/end time - regardless of what date/time I put in it assigns the same date/time to the start and end of the entire clip and doesn't show any running time so I can't mark/note specific times in the clip that I want to later select. Not sure why this is happening with these specific clips that were imported from existing .mov files - possibly because these clips were originally imported onto a pc and converted into .mov files, then imported into imovie after that? I still have the original tapes so I could import to imovie from scratch but would prefer not have to to do that as this makes up 20 hours of vid. Any solutions?

You might get a better response to your question over in the iLife > iMovie community. This forum is iMovie for iOS so most visitors here are working on a different platform, and while some may know about both products, many won't, me included.

  • Why does my LG Cosmos 2 calendar change the start time to the same as the end time?

This does not happen all the time but often enough to be a pain.  When I enter a new appointment in the calendar sometimes the phone changes the start time to what I entered as the end time.  I thought maybe it was me but it happened twice today and I watched carefully to make sure I was entering it correctly.  I was and it is the phone making the change.  How do I fix this?

    Hi AyaniB
It's been doing it for some time. It seems to be random in occurrence. The day I made the post it happened three times. Since then I have been watching carefully and it does not seem to have happened again. Am I missing any phone updates or anything? How do I check that?
    Thanks for your help.
