Change movie Coverflow artwork in latest iTunes?

In the latest iTunes, though I can change the movie poster to whatever frame I want by right-clicking on the movie as it plays and choosing Set Poster Frame, the picture that represents this movie in Coverflow does not change. The picture in iTunes' artwork box changes, but the Coverflow picture does not. Coverflow still shows the irrelevant frame grabbed by iTunes when the movie was added to the library. This wasn't the case with earlier versions of iTunes. Anyone figure out the way to change Coverflow artwork?

I have a similar issue, although slightly more extreme.
I recently had a hard drive crash, so I've had to rebuild my iTunes music library from a backup of the files. I've also upgraded to iTunes 8. I don't know which - if any - of these event was the root of the problem, but in my Movies tab, all my pre-hard disk crash movies have the same poster frame. If I delete any one of the movies, all the remaining files change to a random other poster frame - but they're still all the same. The exception is the Pixar short films I purchased from the iTunes Music Store. There are three of them, but all display the same poster.
If I add a completely new movie to iTunes, it appears to put in a poster frame as expected. If I delete all the originals and then re-import them, I get a different movie frame; but they're still all the same. The Pixar movies will all take the poster of the first one re-imported.
It feels like something is either corrupt, or iTunes 8 has an odd bug in it. Any ideas?

Movie poster Artwork Out-of-Focus and blurry?

Is anyone having a problem with movie poster artwork imported into itunes (added in the get info menu area for artwork) that now appears "blurry" or "out-of focus" in cover flow, etc. and the synced version in appletv. This happened right after upgrading to 8.0.1. My previous movie posters are just fine that were imported "prior" to upgrading to itunes 8? What gives? They are somehow blurry or low-res?

Films - Movies not Working or corrupted in iTunes after changing the album artwork

After trying to change the album artwork for some movies I own, I realized that such movie unplayable after such change and I cannot even revert what I have done. More, it seems like if you press on the "get info" section of the movie, you will notice that the artwork tab is gone and therefore, it’s like the movie is corrupted after changing the artwork. Any ideas? Has anyone encountered this before?

Just checked and I have the updated itunes 8.0.1 with the poster frame problem.
I finally found a fix for the movie album artwork problem.
After realizing several movies had the same poster frame as one of the movies. I deleted the movie with the common poster frame which had been copied to other movies. The other poster frames changed on the other movies because they no longer had a reference to the file from which the poster frame was copied. So I copied the deleted movie back into itunes and then got to thinking that perhaps there is something else in common with the movies which displayed the same poster frame. I found that I had set the album field to the same title. So I changed the album field file by file, to something else. Then I set the poster frame after playing a few seconds of the video at a point where I wanted the frame set to the current frame. I got a film icon on the movie icon for a few seconds while it changed it. Sometimes I had to repeat selecting the different poster frames for each movie because it didn't take the first time... the second time I selected a different poster frame it was then set to the first poster frame that I selected. So now the movies which all had the same album "Aviation" now are all changed to "Flight Training" Of course, now the poster frames for those movies are all the same poster frame but at least they are correct for the type of movie.
So if the album name is set to the same thing on several different movies they will all have the same poster frame.

How do I stop iTunes changing my album artwork?

I do not want iTunes changing my album artwork. I spend a lot of time getting this right. iTunes 12.01 has started messing with this, substituting new artwork and removing what I put there. How do I stop this happening?

I have always kept this option unchecked. I've looked again just now and the option has remained unchecked. For some reason iTunes 'selected' 4 (that I've noticed) out of my 1775 albums and did its automatic update anyway. I guess this is a bug in the latest version, perhaps during the updating process.
I've changed the album art back to what I want and will keep an eye on them. I'll feed back to this thread if iTunes changes the art again.

I can't open itunes at all. Is there anything I can do or is there a problem with the new update?

Does that shortcut work?
If so, delete the current shortcut that is in the Quick Start tray and drag the one that is in Start > Programs down there.

Should i return all my apple products and go android instead....help, I want it to work. My firewall is off, ATV2 is running on ethernet and library is on wireless. My ps3 streams just fine over the network, I assume Itunes is at fault?

Movies will not play in latest iTunes update

The subject sums it up. Since updating to 10.7.0.21, my movies will no longer play and trying to do so causes iTunes to stop responding and consequently needing killed in Windows Task Manager.
I have read similar threads that link to a process of disabling software processess in Quicktime, but I do not have Quicktime installed, nor have I in the past and the movies still played within iTunes.
I have tried repairing iTunes and the result is the same.
I have also tried unistalling and reinstalling iTunes and the movies still will not play.
I have tried playing all of the movies in the library to ensure it was not an issue with a particular file and none will play.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the same issue. I have Windows 7 64 with the latest iTunes version 10.7.0.27 up until the latest update all was good. I now can't play any video from iTunes be it a pod cast, iPhone video or a movie. As soon as you try playing the video, iTunes comes up with a message saying iTunes has stopped responding and will restart.
I have tried the QuickTime fix of disabling Direct3D video acceleration and this doesn't work. Have deinstalled QuickTime altogether and I still get the same issue. Have deinstalled all Apple products from my PC as per the various online instructions and then done a full reinstall. Still not working.
Any other suggestions as not being able to play videos from iTunes is very annoying. Either that or I hope Apple release a fix for this...

Latest iTune update (May 2014) - unable to play any videos (movies/TV shows)

After the latest iTunes update to 11.2.2.3 I can no longer play any of my purchased/downloaded videos, be it TV shows or Movies. Video window opens up and then nothing, black screen, nothing happens, doesn't play. Tried skipping ahead and still no video/audio playing. All my iTunes audio music plays fine, just issues with video playback. Any one else having these issues? Any suggestions out there? Apple, what have you done? Help!!

Windows 7 64bit - iTunes 64bit. Open the video - in this case, a TV episode. Sound is great. Picture is black.
Other streamers - HBO, DirecTV, FX, Hulu, Netflix - work great.
If I remote to the computer using RDC, I can see the picture via the remote connection.
I've tried the above instructions and uninstalled everything Apple, in order. I've even removed everything Apple in AppData and removed temp files.
I've rebooted and reinstalled it - and again, in Remote Desktop Connection it's showing the image.
On the computer itself, it works great with the sound, but...
No picture.
I've been looking in the Event Viewer and noticed some errors in the .net framework. Not spotting anything else at this time.

Try one or more of the following:
> Restart Your Computer
> Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
> Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer.

Changes that i make to song display in iTunes, will not carry over when I sync to my ipad. This is only since i upgraded to ios7 and downloaded the latest itunes. Any ideas why?

I use my iPad for music when i teach my dance class. The default layout in the music program on iPad is: song title, artist and album. I need the name of the dance, so in iTunes, I right click on the song title, then choose "get Info". I then edit the info and under album title I write in the dance name. Then when i sync the iPad still has the same three columns, but the info i need displays under the album column. UNTIL i upgraded to ios7 and installed the latest iTunes. When I synced last night, after adding new music, the songs that were already in the playlist, stayed the same. ALL the new songs were placed in the playlist but none of the info that i edited synced. It shows it as i want it when i look at the playlist in iTunes, but it does not carry over after the sync.
I hope this makes sense and does anyone have any idea why?

If None is not available - On your computer launch iTunes and click "iTunes Store" in the left navigation pane. How can I move my PC (Windows 7) iTunes library (with my cps ripped) to my Mac iTunes library?

Just for my curiosity and knowledge,
I have a PC (Windows 7) and a Mac (OS X 10.10).
Both of them with the latest version of iTunes.
Both of them with the exact music library (genre, artist, album, etc).
All my music is coming from iTunes Store, so very easy to re download at any time I want with my Apple ID
My PC (Windows 7) computer has a CD/DVD drive. I would like to RIP some music from my CDs and add them to my PC (Windows 7) iTunes library.
Once I finished, how can I move my PC (Windows 7) iTunes library (with my cps ripped) to my Mac iTunes library?

If you've downloaded the media idependently to each library so far then thet won't be exactly the same as there are different naming rules for the files and folders in OS X and Windows. See Make a split library portable for some general advice. You can move a portable library between Mac and Windows, but there is a delay opening the library after each change of OS.

Movie video artwork doesn't display properly on iPad video app

I have seen the discussion around the problems / solutions regarding the proper displaying of TV shows on the iPad when accessing a shared library, but my problem is with Movie files. The artwork does not display properly. Sometimes the artwork from one movie will be duplicated onto another movie, or they will be all switched around. I have both iTunes purchased movies and converted backups of from my DVD library.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I have tried many things. While I see changes in the displayed artwork, they are generally messed up in one way or another on the iPad when accessing the shared library on my computer.

Curiously enough, if I click on a movie from the shared library on the iPad, the correct artwork shows on the right sight of the window that let's you play the movie or navigate to a chapter. When I go back to the menu screen for all the movies in the shared library, the artwork is still wrong.
Artwork is messed up even for home-created movies - one of them shows a preview screenshot of the Warner Brothers logo instead of the picture I have in the Artwork setting in iTunes.

How do I change the the artwork size in grid view? I see that if you select view > view options when in artists it will give you a slider to adjust artwork size (although not by much) but there is no option to do this in Movies or TV shows... why couldn't they just keep the universal slider at the top of the page like before!? I know they want it to look more like the iOS itunes but this isn't an iPad!!! I have the screen space!!
Also why is it that EVERY time they release a new iTunes they get rid of the grey background for grid view? :@

My understanding is that Firefox uses the global printer settings. I am not familiar with the Windows 8 interface, but can you change the printer settings in its Devices and Printers and see if it changes the default for Firefox as well?

Adding videos in latest itunes 10.2.2?

Hi everyone...
I think i stumble upon a problem with the latest itunes upgrade.
Up to iTunes 10.2.1 this seems to work fine.
I have been encoding most of my dvd collection with Handbrake, and producing m4v files for the iPod classic. And the files are ready i tag then with AtomicParsley, and they "drop" the files in the "Automatically Add to iTunes" folder.
From this point the Itunes will take over and place/move the files in the/to correct directories (i have the setting for iTunes to manage my lib).
Let's make an example, that i just used for testing. I have encoded an episode of "Only Fools and Horses", tagged it correctly, and placed it in the "Automatically Add to iTunes", and iTunes 10.2.1 will move it to the folder "TV Shows/Only Fools and Horses/Season 7" and renames it accordingly.
If i upgrade to the iTunes 10.2.2 from yesterday, this behavior no longer works, with 2 problems:
1. while the lib in itunes will be updated, and a new show will be in the lib, the file will still be left in "Automatically Add to iTunes", so there is not moving the file and no renaming.
2. next time i start itunes, or add something else, the files that are still present "Automatically Add to iTunes" are re-added to the lib (once again no move or no rename)
and this will go on with no stop.
This seems to happen only with video files. Music files seem to work fine.
I have moved back to 10.2.1 and then the behavior is correct. I have tested this in both of my systems, one Windows XP and the other Windows 7 and the behavior is identical in both, 10.2.1 works fine, 10.2.2 doesn't move/rename the files out of "Automatically Add to iTunes"
Anyone can help, or has seen similar issue?

I'm having the same problem as the OP. On mine, I added a movie to the folder, itunes imported it. I wasn't paying attention at the time, but went ahead and edited the tags, adding artwork, etc, then I noticed it was in the library 3 times. Looked in the 'Automatically...' folder and it was still there. Looked in the movies folder and it hadn't been copied. I deleted from itunes and it put the movie in the recycle bin. I had to remove all 3 copies from the itunes library. I then tried to restore the file from the recycle bin and I was locked out of the 'Automatically..." folder. I restarted the computer and the folder was gone. It came back when I re-launched iTunes, but it still isn't working correctly. I ended up putting the movie in the movies folder manually, then added it manually in iTunes.
Is there a way to downgrade to 10.2.1 without an uninstall/reinstall?
Where can I get 10.2.1?
