Change name associated with my mac account

The name associated with my mac account is presently showing as "First Last" when the main account is used for e-mail. I would like to change it to "The Last Names" to connote that this address goes to the family in general. Is there any way to change the display name? I have tried in iCloud browser mail preferences, user accounts system preferences, and have no luck.

How do I change the name on my developer account. I now have my discussion ID tied in with developer account, and I would like to change the name associated with my developer account. There is a field to change my first name on the discussion board, but there seems to be no option to change the first or last name associated with a developer account.

Just open www.icloud.com, open "Mail", open "Preferences..." (in the lower left corner), then open the "Accounts" tab and here change your "Full Name".

It is rather frustrating because I send out business emails and often times the receiver does not look at my signature block but instead replies to me addressing me by her name.

Changing name associated with iphone user

I went through a name change last year and got an iphone in January. The bill, the name of the phone, my email, my apple ID - all have my correct and new last name. However, when I send out emails on the phone or when I download a new app - the name that gets used is my old last name. I have tried looking in all sorts of areas on the phone as to where this info is coming from - and I cant figure it out!

If you mean the bit that comes before the @me.com, you can't, other than by creating a new account: but you can create up to three email 'aliases' which are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main address: indeed it's better to give out alias addresses than the main address since they can be changed quite easily.

I want to change iTunes ID and keeping .mac account.

I share my iTunes account with my son. We want to have separate accounts. I want to keep the iTunes ID associated with my .mac account for my use. My son wants to use a gmail account for the itunes and all the music he has acquired through the current account.

This doesn't work as I expected. You can't change the primary Mac ID used for anything Apple. My .mac.com address is the ID. So if my son changes to his e-mail address on iTunes on his Mac, he changes the way I access anything .mac from my Mac.
In effect, this is as it would be for any kink of web base account where a user name and password is used. You cannot change the user name. You can only start from scratch with a new account which can't see the content owned by the first account.
So we'll continue to share this iTunes account until I die I guess.
Oh well.

I am unable to locate where to change the phone number that is associated with my itunes account. I have a new number and the old number is no longer accessible by me. I've logged into my iTunes acct and it seems I can only change my appleID itself, my billing address info, and password and things like that. I cannot find where to remove a number and add a new one. I've gone to my mobile devices (iphone, ipad) as well as my mac and I'm getting a bit frustrated with it. I'm sure there's a simple solution and I'm just missing it. Going to settings>messages>send&receive....there is the old number and no option to make a correction. I've unchecked it but why can't I add the new number? On my iphone the ONLY option that shows up is my current number but when I set up my new ipad I have the issue described here. I want this number completely removed from my account there has to be a way to get it out of the system.
Also when going to settings>facetime>you can be reached at: shows email addresses as well as the OLD phone number with no option to make the correction, remove the incorrect number, or add a new number. I figured this was tied in to my appleID since thats when it showed up (right when I signed in on my ipad). So I went to itunes on my mac and went to my account and there I find AppleID Summary, itunes in the cloud, purchase history, and settings. I've gone through each of those and am still unable to figure out where to change it. Somebody PLEASE tell me where to find this data so I can change it. I am trying to change the email address associated with my existing account to free up my university email address for use in obtaining Creative Cloud. Every time I go to the account settings of my existing account (which currently uses my university email, as I set it up years ago and had no idea it'd eventually cause problems), I enter a different email to use for that account but I continuously receive an error message saying "account changes cannot be saved." It makes me think that it's because the email isn't verified (funny, it actually is verified since it has been the alternate email on the old account for years), but when I click the "send verification email" nothing happens (that is, no email is sent to that other email address).
Anyway, my university is now requiring that faculty create new accounts using our university email addresses in order to register/use Creative Cloud. Am I able to delete my old account, or can anyone help me actually change the email address associated with my old account without getting a "changes can't be saved" error?

Hi:
Log in and click on your user name, then look at the upper the right side of the page.
Click on the triangle to the left of the "More Resources" section.
This will drop down, and give you options.
Select User Settings.
This will now open a page, and in the light blue type on top, follow it along to Contact Information, click on that, and change your e-mail address to what you want, and hit the blue submit button on the bottom right side of the page.

Firefox is a web browser. It displays the content of existing sites. Things like email or page contents come from the content provider. Who is your email provider? You'll probably have better luck consulting their help documentation. There should be a settings menu that allows you to change your personal account information.

I had MobileMe on the iPhone with alias email addresses and I liked how it didn’t attach any “name” to an alias. For example, I had MainUserName, then for aliases I would have [email protected], [email protected], etc. When I sent an email from my iPhone using one of the aliases as the "from" no name would be associated with the alias email address. If it was the MainUserName then it would associate it, e.g. Main User <[email protected]> will show up on the "From" field when I sent an email. But with iCloud on the iPhone (and iPad), it’s Main User <[email protected]>, Main User <[email protected], etc., which I don’t want. If anything it should be Alias 1 <[email protected]> or Alias 2 <[email protected]>. Anyway, I don't want any name associated with the aliases, so when I send an email it will simply say [email protected] or just [email protected] with no name association.
It works differently if I access iCloud through a web browser. If I send an email via iCloud on the web, I can customize and have a different name with each alias, e.g., Tom <[email protected]> or Harry <[email protected]> And the customization carries over to the Mail app on my Mac. That would be ideal if the customization carried over to the iPhone and iPad, but I'd be happy if there was no name association with alias email addresses. Hopefully, there's a solution to the iPhone/iPad situation with iCloud as I don't want the name linked with the main iCloud email address linked with all the different email aliases I have.

I have two itunes accounts. One account has all my store purchases and is associated with my school email address, which I will eventually lose. The OTHER account has NO purchases on it, and is associated with my gmail account.
What I want is for my itunes account with all my purchases, to be associated my permanent gmail email account. However, if I try to change it, Apple of course tells me that the particular email address is already associated with another account. And, as others have said on the forums, you can't merge two accounts.
So, would it be possible to delete the gmail account entirely? And then, after that is done, change the email on my other account to my gmail address? If so, how do I do that?
