Hi, I'm trying to resolve a situation that has me baffled. I recently moved and had to sign up for new FiOS service at my new apartment last week (I had FiOS at my old apartment, but couldn't just transfer my services because Verizon didn't offer those plans anymore, so I signed up for a new triple play bundle for the new apartment). Everything was installed and I was up and running on Thursday. Good stuff. Fast forward to today, when I realized that the last name on my account needed to be changed, so I called this morning to change the last name. I then get an email from Verizon saying that my new plan would be $10 extra a month, and that I would now be looking at a $250 bill come August (versus the original $172 I was quoted for August) because I changed my last name. Huh? It turns out the representative I talked to this morning changed my internet from 50/50 to 75/75 without my permission for an extra $10 a month. I later discovered that when you change your name on your Verizon account, Verizon considers this to be an act of signing up for a new plan, which the representative never disclosed to me during our conversation. Had I known this, I would never agreed to change the name and just left it as it was. But now it's too late, and I've been signed up for a more expensive monthly plan that I didn't agree to. What's worse, no one can explain to me why I'm looking at a $250 bill for August. If the bump up to 75/75 internet (which I didn't authorize in the first place, but okay fine, let's say I accept the unauthorized change) was an extra $10 a month, the prorated amount should not have changed the expected bill in August from $172 to $250. Something is very wrong here and things do not add up. I have called back twice now and gotten nowhere with the people I spoke with. Is there any other avenue I can take to get answers to what is wrong here? Thanks in advance.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal.

Getting divorced want to change name on accounts, email, etc

Getting divorced and want to change my name to reflect my maiden name on my apple ID, email address, iCloud, etc. Currently my Apple ID and email is [email protected]; want to change it to [email protected] I understand I might need to create a new account, but having trouble finding step by step instruction to do this without loosing data, calendar, music, etc. I use iCloud heavily for syncing across multiple devices, so I am very concerned that doing this is going to mess things up. You are correct that to get a new iCloud email address (without creating an alias address) you will have to create a new iCloud account.
To migrate to a new account, start by saving any photo stream photos you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll. If you are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account. If you are syncing iWork (Pages, Numbers, Keynote) documentes with iCloud, back them up to iTunes (see https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3542).
Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password when prompted (if using iOS 7). Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data. When you turn on Mail you will choose your new @icloud.com email address (type carefully as once created this cannot be changed). You will then have to recreate any notes in your new account by from the emails you sent earlier.
If you have multiple devices, you will only have to migrate the data on one device. Once the data is in your new account, on your other devices just save any photo stream photos to your camera roll, delete the account, choose Delete from My iDevice and provide the password when prompted, then sign back in with your new account ID and your data will sync to the device.
Music, apps and other media purchased from the iTunes and App Store is permanently tied to the ID used to purchase it originally and cannot be moved to a different ID.

Add joint name / change name on account

Hi all
Our BT line is currently in my fiancee's name. I was wondering if it is possible to add myself onto the account as a joint name or to change the account into my name. Simple reason is that I organise the bills etc. in the household and I am the one who tends to ring up companies to sort things out. We currently have paperless billing and these come to my email address.
If not possible, when we are married, will my fiancee be able to change her maiden name to married name on the account (when married would this be easier to add me onto the account?)

Changing Name of Account with Bonjour

Hello all.
I've completed an extensive search of the forums but can't find a solution as yet.
My iChat application has me logged into my workplace's Bonjour network under an old name.
I'm trying to change the name from Mackintosh Lou to something else.
Does anyone have an idea where I can do this? I've had a go but it's time to hand it to those in the know.

Unless you are Logged in as the Admin it should be the Address Book's My Card for the User you are logged in as.

I have the same problem. I have nothing positive to say about BT. They are a nightmare to get hold of and even more difficult to get a problem resolved. Whenever we have a BT email or telephone fault inevitably it's when i am away from home and BT won't speak to my wife. I have tried all the BT web sites to get an Answer, I just find the sites to be completely user unfriendly.

You can't change it in one step. Sign out of the one now on the Mac, sign onto the right one.

Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

Your purchases are permanently tied to the Apple ID (account) used to purchase them. They can't be moved to another account and you can merge accounts. You can start making new purchases with your iCloud ID if you want, but you will end up with two sets of purchases under two different IDs, adding further complication to your life.
Also, your @icloud email address is an alias of your existing @me address; emails sent to either address will be routed to the same inbox. You can decide which one you want to use as your default (as discussed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5441) but you can't separate them.

If so, you can't change it. You can setup a completely new iCloud account under a different AppleID, or you can setup an email alias to your current iCloud account.

I am trying to find out how to change a change name associated with a iCloud email account.
for example name displayed Robert with example [email protected] The name Robert is wrong I wish to correct it to David.
What is the process. I am using a MacBook with current OS X and Safari 8.0.3
Second question also dealing with iCloud email. I have tried to set up an account for my wife and every entry I have tried comes back with an error message illegal characters? What is not allowed?

Just open www.icloud.com, open "Mail", open "Preferences..." (in the lower left corner), then open the "Accounts" tab and here change your "Full Name".
