Change name on photo album

How do I change the name of a photo album

Albums that you sync from your computer will take the name of the folder (or album if using iPhoto/Aperture) that they came from on your computer, and albums that you create directly on the iPad can't have their names changed once you've created them - so will either need to change their name on your computer and re-sync them, or (for those created on the iPad), delete them and re-create them

  • TS3989 how to change names on photo albums

On my Ipad and Iphone... How do I change album names... Why when I deleted one photo stream it then named my other album photo stream?
IT STOPPED PHOTO STREAMING.... ALL HAS BEEN CHECKED AND STOPPED COMPLETELY.

This are "Favorites." In the current version of Safari with iOS 8 you can change those by tapping the Bookmarks icon (looks like an open book) and then tapping Favorites. May be slightly different in your iOS 6.1.2

  • Changing names of photos

I'm trying to make copies of large amounts of photos from iPhoto 6, and put them in a single, easily accessible folder on my desktop (easiest way to make them my desktop slideshow).
Problem is some of my photos have the same name (like two or three photos with the name IMG_703.JPG), so when I place them in the folder it gives me a prompt to replace, don't replace, or cancel.
I've probably done the stupid thing already by renaming some photos (ball game 3.JPG, senior banquet 6.JPG), but I want to know what is the right way to do this? Is there a setting I need to fix in my camera (Canon Rebel XT), or do I just go on ahead and change the names of the photos?

see my reply to your other identical post.

  • How do i change name on photo event

how do i find the place to rename event names in iphoto

Maybe this question is better in the iPhoto forum.
Just click the events name, and while it is highlighted, just type in a new name.

  • How do I name a photo album in Iphoto?

Hello!  I am a brand new user and need a little help.  I have an iphone an ipad mini and a mac pro book. Lots of toys but limited knowledge.  I am trying to work in Iphoto.  Experimenting is fun and I have been able to play and do somethings including making a nice vintage album, but can't seem to name it.  How do I name it?  What are the rules?  Thank you! Diane150

If the album is in the left hand column of iphoto (not full screen) on your mac you can highlight it and return will make it editable.
or you can create a new album via iphoto dropdown menu>File>New album

  • Can I change the way photos albums are listed in the photo section?

Hello, maybe I'm missing something really simple here but is there a way for me to make my iPod not show my events from iPhoto, and just the albums? After iLife 08 and Leopard, when I select "Sync all photos" it transfers everything including A TON of events, which I don't want. Is there a way for it to not show the events in the list? Thanks!

you should be able to select which albums to sync instead of selecting "all photos" from the Photos tab in iTunes when your ipod is connected. Choose this PHOTOS tab, then select "Selected Albums" and not "All Events." This will let you choose which albums you want. Click the ones you want on the ipod, then click the SYNC button on the bottom right of the iTunes screen. It will take time to "optimize" all photos, then transfer them to the ipod (two-step process for each photo). Once done, eject and verify. You're all set!

  • Why are all jpeg files are being called Photo Album 6 Photo files?

I own a DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop. It was pre-loaded with free trial software. One program was Corel Photo Album 6. I don't use the program and have uninstalled it. Mozilla always names JPEGs "Photo Album 6 Photo" as the file type. It doesn't seem to alter the functionality, but it drives me crazy that I can't fix it. Under Tools>Options>Applications>Content Type it reads "Photo Album 6 Photo (image/jpeg). There is no other "jpeg" listing. Please advise.

  • Is it  possible to change the name of a photo in one album without changing the name in other albums?

I use the photos in events to create more than one album and I want to use a unique name in each album. When I change the name in one album, all instances of the photo also change.

Correct. Albums just reference the photos in an Event - it's why a pic can be in 50 albums and use no extra disk space. So, change one and you change all. The alternative is to duplicate the pic in the Event.

  • Missing photo links - changing name of external Hard Drive location

I have searched for the answer to this high and low without success if someone can help...
I have a large collection of photos that I store on an external firewire hard drive (too many to store on my macbook pro). My iphoto library is on my Mac and when importing photos to iphoto I did not import the files so the originals remain on the external hard drive and are therefore linked to in iphoto.
I did it this way, rather than storing the library database on the external drive, so that I could access the information and thumbnails when travelling and not connected to my external drive.
I've upgraded my external hard drive and it will have a different name. I need to transfer all the photos across to the new hard drive.
Is there a quick way to reconnect all my original photos when transferred to the new hard drive or a better way to transfer them? Having tried to copy them across manually, obviously as expected I get a missing photo exclamation mark and am asked to browse to the file to relink. This is OK to reconnect one or two photos, but would take me forever with 17,000.
I remember Adobe Photo Album had a command reconnect missing files, and it would go off and search for the files you may have moved location (or changed the directory name in which they were held). Is such a function available in iphoto? I've tried the iphoto re-build functions, but this doesn't look in other attached volumes for the photos.
Alternatively, is there a way to edit the iphoto library database to do a search and replace of the Volume name to the new name and reconnect the link to then photos? e.g. Can you manually edit the albumdata.xml file (and would this be the file to edit) for example, and rebuild the database with Photo Library Manager?
Can you re-import all the photos from the new location, and rebuild the links that way, or does this create duplicate entries and not merge album, keyword event data etc for each photo?
My last resort is re-importing all the photos again, but of course I'd loose all my keywords, albums, events and other info I've spent a long time entering into iphoto.
    Thanks
    Phil

I just wanted to close this off to say that my solution worked fine and my iphoto libraries are up and running in perfect order again. And to summarise the solution so you don't have to read the entire post above.
This solution is for those wanting to have the iphoto library on your Mac and store the original photos linked elsewhere on an external / network drive (i.e. not imported into the iphoto library). Then you want to change the location where the originals are stored (say for example you get a new bigger external Hard Drive - like I did), and that new location will have a different name. Most people recommend importing the photos into the iphoto library, keeping everything together, and this can then be moved anywhere and accessed.
So to summarise, if you are moving original photos linked into iphoto:
    1. Back up everything you can first...
    2. First try moving the files (not copying and deleting) - the aliases may reconnect, especially if they are on your main HD. You may need to manually reconnect one file in each sub-directory.
    3. Move your photos to your external HD / network drive. Note if the new place has the same name as your old external HD then the aliases probably won't need to be fixed.
    4. Download and install File Buddy or similar Alias 'fixer'
    5. Go to your iphoto Library, right click, "Show Package Contents"
    6. Copy the "Originals" directory to another location so that file buddy can read it.
    7. Run File buddy, fixing the aliases in your copy of the Originals folder, pointing to where you've moved your photos too (restrict the directories as much as possible where you point file buddy to search for the missing files to speed it up). You will only have issues if you have multiple copies of the same file - i.e. that have the same file name and creation date, and file buddy will give you a list of these. This in itself is a good check to see you don't have the same file in two places - I only had issues with folders of photos that I'd been given from family in which there were multiple copies of the same photo. I've now cleaned these up, saved space and ran file buddy again to finish the job off.
    8. Finally, move this now fixed "Originals" folder back into your iphoto library (package contents) - writing over / replacing the original "Originals" directory.
All being well, should be fixed!
Just to share with you the benefits I find of having my photos stored on an external HD and the iphoto library on my Macbook:
-- Saves space on my limited internal HD
-- others can access the photos, set up and manage their own iphoto libraries pointing at the same originals, and we don't need two copies of the original files
-- I can access the iphoto library and manage albums, add keywords, titles, etc when not connected to the External HD, though you're limited to viewing the (not too small) thumbnail pictures iphoto stores in its library
I'm loving iphoto even more now, it makes managing and viewing my 1000's of photos a pleasure.
    Cheers
    Phil

  • How to Get Albums in File-Name-Order Photo

When I updated my iPod Touch to V4.0 and iTunes (V9 on Windows XP) re-synced it, I found that my photo albums were now in Picture Date order rather than PC file name order. I tried several things that didn't work.
What worked was using the Photoshop Essentials Organizer to change the picture date on all the photos in an album to the same date and time (this can be done to all selected photos in one operation).
I did the sync in two steps. First I moved the album out of the iTunes photos directory and then synced my iPod which deleted the album. Then I moved it back and re-synced.
Does anyone know of an easier trick? I’ve already submitted a feedback item to Apple that they should make file-name-order an option in iTunes
    Andy…

The trick that I used is to append the URL with the name of the file. So if your url is "http://domain.com/attach", use "http://domain.com/attach/filename.doc". IE and Netscape parse the URL to determine what the filename is, so by placing this text at the end, you essentially let the browsers know what the filename is. :)
I have design a program to get the attach file from an
attachment. But when I click the link to save the
file, the default name of the file is 'attach'
whenever I get different files. Who know what is the
problem, please tell me the truth.
Here are some codes of the program.<< snip >>

  • I download my 5 photo "albums" to my iphone 5s directly from my pc but when I look at the iphone the albums are all mixed up ..or by location or my year..how do I get the albums just like I have them separate my name like I had them on my iphone 4s ..

I am new to iphone 5 s and have no idea how to change the photo albums to be separate by name and not the mess that is now.

At the bottom of the Photos screen there are 2 choices: Photos and Albums. Tap on Albums. That should display the pictures in the same folders that you synced from your computer. If it does not, you may need to look at what selections you made on the photos tab of iTunes and sync again. If using a Windows computer and iTunes, you should be able to organize the photos in multiple folders within a main folder and then set the sync to the main folder.

  • IWeb blog, photo albums requires us to enter the site name on every entry?

Every iWeb blog entry gets a heading of something like "My Site" or "Tom's Photography." This means we have to retype the name of our site +in addition to+ the actual title of every blog post.
Does this not seem annoyingly tedious to anyone else? Did the iWeb team really screw this up, or am I missing a setting somewhere? This also happens on photo album pages; the page for every new album dragged in from iPhoto or Aperture gets a generic title of "Tom's Photography" or something. Pretty annoying. Can anyone helps?

that's cool and everything, but someday when I have hundreds of posts and I want to change the title on the top, I will have to manually change each one. For some reason I think Apple would have thought of this. It seems like a no-brainer...?
Still need someone to help out on this.

  • In IOS5, Photo Albums are no longer sorted by Album name?

Ouch!   I have been using photos on my iPhone (now the 4s) for years, and always synched with my PC where I use Photoshop Elements.   I carefully organize  my photos, put them in albums, and then sync to my iPhone.   My album names are titles like "Vacation in California"," John's 30th Birthday Party", etc. It's great because whether on my phone or on the PC, I can find my photo albums easilly.   They are, of course, listed alphabetically by the name I give the album.
But no longer.   Album names on my iPhone seem to be in random order.  Perhaps they're in order by the date of one of the pictures in the album?  Not really sure here, as my albums usually contain dozens of pictures.
At any rate, why has this happened?  And more importantly, how do I get the albums to sort by name?    I noticed that you can now manually change the order of albums on the phone itself, but this is not much help, as it goes back to the former sequence when I re-sync.
    Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

I posted this almost a month ago, I'm surpirsed noone else had had this issue...
I don't sync that often (yeah, I know, crusify me), but tonight I went to synchronise again and I got a different photo that wont come over....
    In addition to the above:
    - the photos are taken with the same camera, on the same date and time as other photos around it...
So "why is it now no longer compatible with iphone4?"????
If I unsync a photo, it just gives me a new photo it can't sync.
Can anyone tell me how to find ALL the photos it can't sync? This is a serious deficiency of iphoto/itunes/sync with iphone...

  • How do i change the title to my photo album:(ios7)

How do I change the name of the title for one of  my photo albums in ios 7

When you set the podcast up in WordPress you must have entered a title; it's presumably there that you can change it, and then re-publish it, though I can't advise on WordPress.
One caveat, though: some podcast creation services derive the feed URL from the title: I don't know whether WordPress is one of them, but if it is you shouldn't change the title because if you change your feed URL withouth redirecting iTunes to a new feed in the proper manner you will lose control of your podcast.
The method of changing iTunes to a new feeed URL requires the old feed to be left in place with a special tag added to it (I don't know whether this is possible in Wordpress) - the method is detailed here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
However if the feed URL is not affected by changing the title then you can just go ahead and change it.

  • My photo albums used to be sorted by name now they are sorted by date (ipod touch ) any ideas?

my photo albums on my ipod touch
were sorted by name now they are sorted by date taken .I didn't change any settings on my computer any ideas?

You're in the Photo Mode with Event Titles displayed so you are looking at events.  But in this mode you can only sort the photos within the Events, not the Events.
Go to the Events mode and there you can sort the events by: date, title or manually:
