Change new message highlight color

When you first use Mail the selected message is highlighted with a blue color to show what message you are viewing in the Inbox pane.
Somehow, I changed this highlight color to a green but now cannot figure out were to find that command.
Help!

Thanks for posting your fix! I just came had this same problem today with my new MacBookPro...Couldn't figure out how the highlighting changed to green and how to get it back to blue!

  • Remove message highlight color

I had set up in Mail preferences to add message highlight color (Set Color of Message), but once I deleted that preference the old mail still shows in highlight. HOW do I get rid of highlight color on old messages now that I no longer want highlight color. Thank you.

Set up a mail rule with the same criteria as the first but set the color to black. Then run the rule.

Edit: sorry, if you're referring to highlight color of message threading then change the highlight color in Mail > Preferences > viewing tab > Highlight related messages using color. > tap the color box to edit > select white.

  • Change the default highlight color

In the previous version of Acrobat, you used to be able to select a default color for highlighting. I use color-coded highlighting a lot and I can't find a way to change the default highlight color in Acrobat DC. It looks like the only choice I have is to change the highlight color of each highlight individually.  Where did the highlight color preference go?

After changing the color of a highlight right-click it and click "Make current properties default".

  • How to change the Find highlight color

I am trying to find out if there is a way to change the Find Highlight color in office 2013.
Every time I search for a word or anything it uses a light yallow to highlight that line or word, and I woudl like to replace the yellow with like a teal or a green or some other color that I'm not using already in my Word document. This way I can find out
were it is telling me It is because I have a lot of stuff already highlighted yallow, and when I click find and search for something in the Navigation window and it finds it. It also puts it as a lighter yellow and it confuses me.

    Hi,
As far as I know, we can't change the highlight color when using Find in Word. The highlight color is fixed.
As a workaround, you can try to use Advanced Find instead which will show the search result with a different color.

  • Changing the Preview highlight color

When you search a PDF file with Preview, you get a list of results in the drawer. Selecting a result goes to that page and highlights the search text. However, the highlight color is a dull gray and is often very difficult to locate quickly, especially on a page full of small text.
Does anyone know if this color can be changed, for example to imitate the easily visible color used by the Firefox find command? There's no obvious preference for this, but perhaps there's something hidden in the preference file?

Preview follows the system default, which sets the highlight color of inactive windows to gray and the active window to the color set in Appearance.
When you search, you can use Tab/ShiftTab to toggle focus between the drawer (containing the search instances) and the main page display pane.

  • Change Preview's  highlight color when seraching PDF files.

I cannot see the gray highlight color when searching for key words in pdf files.
How can I change the color to something that is visible?
Or should I just forget preview for pdf files & get acrobat reader?

I sort of changed mine to Red in 10.4.11 for the same reason.
Quit Preview, paste this into Terminal window & press enter...
    defaults write com.apple.Preview AppleHighlightColor "1.0 0.0 0.0"
    The values are R G B in 0 to 1 scale.
Start Preview, now do a search, press Tab, the search will show in Red Highlight, but not in the PDF it's self.
Adobe Reader will highlight within the PDF in a better color.
On searching through PDFs, might see...

I'm not on 10.5/10.6 now to see, but iirc it hasn't changed.

  • Is there anyway to change/add more highlighter colors in Preview? I need more colors aside from those already provided in the app.

I'm a law student and I use the preview app extensively for reading cases. I need more highlighter colors aside from those already provided and it seems that there's no possible way of adding/changing the colors.

Unlike Preview, the Adobe Reader application allows you to change PDF highlight (comment) text colors via a standard Apple color chooser. Click Tools on the Reader Toolbar, and then Comment. The second button in the Comment Annotation section is highlight text, and defaults to canary yellow.
Highlight the document text, and then two-finger tap/control-right-click that highlighted text. On the contextual menu, you will see Properties…. The properties panel has a color well set to yellow. Click this color well, and a standard Apple color chooser will appear that allows you more creative control over your highlight color. When you click a color in the color chooser, it is not automatically updated in the color well, which remains dark grey. When you quit the color chooser, the selected color is updated in this color well and in your document. The next text that you select to highlight will receive a default yellow highlight.

  • How do you change Matching Tag Highlights color?

I just updated my Dreamwever CC.
I have my code coloring set to be dark. I don't like too much white as the background when I'm coding...
with the new update, I spotted the new change right away, it's great, I like the idea of highlighting matching tags, but I want to change the color to match my color theme and so I can read my codes. this is what I have...
would someone know how to change the color? thank you.

You can change the color of the tag highlight by
    Go to DW preferences
    Choose Code Coloring
In the bottom you will see tag highlighting enabled with a check mark
Change the color by using the color well below that Tag highlighting preference

  • Changing the Today highlight color

I was wondering if there is a way to change that color. Today is highlighted with a very faint blue, and for a person with bad color blindness it's very difficult to see and tell apart from the rest of the white boxes of the dates around. So i can't easily and quickly zoom in on the Today box. Anyone has any ideas?
I wish Apple had a little more consideration for the color blind people,
    Saturatingly yours,

Mac needs to improve colors everywhere. In iCal if you add a calendar and, for example, label it red: unless it is the highlighted day, the red is a crummy dulled down red. Same with all of the other colors. The result is a calendar full of dull colors that are not helpful. Also the folders in mail and itunes must have the ability to color code. And why are there only a few colors to available to label folders on the desktop all of which are really distasteful? Basically the same choices since OS 7. I expect more from Mac on this.

  • Change/new/delete highlighting during import process

    Hi everyone,
I intend to use SAP NW MDM to consolidate master data from external sources.
During the import process, I would like to see a highlighting of all new, of all deleted and of all changed records. The reason herefore is the following: before I actually load the imported data into my MDM repository, I want to check the data. Just in case, some corupt data was loaded.
Can I do this in the MDM Import Manager?
    Best regards, Daniel

    hi,
Whenever an imported record is new or changed, a timestamp could be set (which is most likely set already anyway). After importing the data I could run a routine which shows me all records that have not been updated. I could then delete these records or set them as "inactive".
What do you think about this workaround? Is it feasible in MDM?
Yes this is feasible in MDM. Whenever one record is changed / updated by user, the record will be updated along with the timestamp.
you can view this in data manager.
if you want to select some records and mark them as inactive, you have to create a field.
    hope this may help you,
    Regards,
    Srinivas

  • IOS 7 - Change message bubble color?, IOS 7 - Change message bubble color?

I'm guessing we still can't change the message bubble colors?  It was just annoying before.  Now it is a necessity.
The vivid green/white on a white background just makes it hard to see/read for SMS messages...I can go as far as saying that it hurts my eyes.  The blue and white are almost as bad for iMessages.   I tried inverting the colors in the accessibility settings which helpped for the messaging and made everything else unsuable.
If I can't change the colors I will have to revert the OS (same colors but with black text and less vivid gradients) or  change to a phone/OS that allows for better customization/ accessability options.  This really *****...I have had a iPhone for a long time.

Just downloaded the IOS 7 and I want to go back to the previous IOS now!
I am disappointed in the color changes of the new icons with the IOS 7. Within an hour after downloading the new IOS 7 I have been trying to change the text messaging bubble color. I cannot deal with the bright piercing chartreuse green color of the message bubble. This horrible chartreuse green color with the white letters on a white screen number one, hurts my eyes, number two, I cannot read it. I want the nice pale blue with black letters back that I had before I upgraded. Even the color of green on the previous IOS was more pleasing to the eyes than this horrible bright piercing chartreuse green color you have now. I cannot cope with it at all.
If I cannot have a different color bubble (how silly not to give your customer what they want) or allow for me to go back to the older operating system until you change your mind, I will have no alternative but to leave Apple iPhone, iPad behind because your current operating system is hurting my eyes literally and I cannot look at the screen without getting a headache or read my text messages any longer because of the color choice that you have made with no other option for me to choose from.
Now can we talk??? Can the customers get what they want or do you lose more customers due to this horrible color scheme and the refusal to listen to what your customers want, need and desire?

  • Flattening annotations (comments) changes highlight color in Acrobat, but not Reader

I have a pdf document with multiple comments consisting of sentences highlighted with different colors. The colors are the default, bright colors in the default commenting "Highlighter Tool Properties" palette. When I flatten with either Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 or X (Tools - Print Production - Preflight - flatten annotations and form fields) the colors of the highlights change from the normal 'bright' colors to dull 'pantone'-like colors. Interestingly, if I view the flattened file with Reader, the colors are fine (back to the bright colors), but when viewing with Acrobat Pro they are the dull pantone colors. It is as if there is a 'flag' in the file telling Acrobat (but not Reader) to change the displayed highlight colors.
    I'm using Mac OS X 10.9.5
Does anyone know how I might change this so that the highlight colors do not change when flattening?
    Thanks

Well, I was able to answer my own question. You have to go into "Flattener Preview" and change "Color Space" from the default "none" to something else, in my case, "Device RGB". Also, make sure to set page range.

  • RH9 Search highlighting color won't stick

When you use the Search feature and select "Highlight search results" the default color is gray. The word or phrase you're searching for displays in gray in all the topics in your search results.
From a usability standpoint, gray is a really bad color for highlighting. People are used to yellow, so if they saw that they would know what it means. Other colors would also send the correct message. But I kept getting emails from people asking me what's wrong with the online help because their screen was peppered with gray splotches.
So I went in and changed the highlighting color in the Webhelp > Search > Search Options dialog. All was well, until the next time I compiled the project. The color choice reverted to gray. Apparently you must go in and make your color choice EVERY TIME you update a project. If Adobe had chosen any color but gray as the default, I'd just leave it.
This is a problem because my project consists of one parent and about 20 child projects. I went in and changed the search highlighting color in all 21 projects, only to learn that the ones I'd since updated were displaying their highlights in gray. So users were getting blue highlights in some search results topics, and gray in others. It shouldn't do this.
If there's a fix, please advise.
    Thank you!

    Hi there
Hopefully Peter won't mind my offering another possible suggestion.
Try creating a new Single Source Layout. Just right-click the Single Source Layouts pod and create a new layout. My thought here is that perhaps the file holding the recipe for that layout may have somehow become a bit corrupt and creating a new SSL recipe may make things finally "stick".
    Cheers... Rick

  • Launchpad highlight color

Is there any way to change the Launchpad highlight color? The default is black. On a black or dark background, the highlight simply doesn't show up well enough to use, and this makes arrow-key navigation of Launchpad impossible.

Your screen capture is showing the color in the Pages panel of InDesign using a dark or medium dark theme set in InDesign Interface Preferences.
The version of Mac OS X has nothing to do with this whatsoever.
It's the way InDesign displays the dark theme. It's one of the downsides of using a dark theme. You don't get enough contrast of an element against a dark panel. If you switch to the light theme it will be easier to view.
If you have suggestions about how to change the way a theme is handled, you could post them as a feature request here:

  • Change AE CC 2014.2 new Highlight color

    Hi,
I like the new UI improvements, but the new Highlight-Color is cancer for my eyes and is more distracting than helpful.
Is there a way to change this?
    Cheers - Michael

There are quite a few threads on this already - here and in the Premiere Pro forum.
Many people agree with you - me included.  I find it so bad that I will be reverting back to the previous version prior to my next lengthy AE session.
I think an urgent patch is required.  We can't wait until the next official update - or we'll all have migrated to a competitor's product
