Change of Bin while confirming TO (Picking strategy FIFO)

Dear WM experts,
We use FIFO strategy for picking. Now for an outbound delivery we have the requirement to generate TO automatically. During confirming of the TO we should have option to change the suggested Bin (in the source storage type).
Could you please confirm what settings in IMG should I take care of for achieving this.

I'm afraid it isn't possible...
You can set destination storage bin change for your storage type in SPRO:
Logistics Execution ® Warehouse Management ® Master Data ® Define Storage Type
You can find a field called 'Dst bin ch. during confirm'...BUT SAP help says:
'No destination bin can be entered during confirmation for
- dynamic coordinates
- return items
- Lean WM (if the destination bin is defined in the movement type)
- posting change TOs
- inventory based on putaway
- additions to existing stock in storage units
- transaction Confirm single item'
I guess you are using dynamic bins for outbound deliveries...

Cannot change destination bin during confirmation

Dear SAP experts,
We are in SAP ECC 5.0. We read that we can change the destination bin during confirmation of TO. We have done the pre-requisite:
1. In relevant storage type (001) we input '1' for dst bin ch during confrm field
2. Untick physical inventory during placement to bin
Then we do GR to PO, which generate TR. We create TR into TO and specifying bin INTERIM in storage type 001. During confirmation in tcode LT12, I cannot change the destination bin. What else do I miss in here?

Even though config mentions change of destination bin, there are quite a few limitations.
Have a look at below documentation from SAP

Hi,
Hope you cannot change the source bin but as per the configuration in the picking strategy in the customizing you can define the picking sequence for the souce bins.
example: like check bin " A" if ......(condition)...then pick from bin " B " or pick from bin " C".

Change of bin not possible during TO confirmation

Hi all.
I am trying to change the destination storage bin during transfer between bins (WM movement 309).
The strategy is fix bin (maintained in material master), so the TO is created with fix destination bin and operator must change it before confirmation.
For example, in GR it is possible to change destination bin during confirmation in transaction LT12 but not for transfer. The receiving storage type is the same in both cases. Is there any customizing missing?
Apart from this, is there any way to confirm items separately inside a TO? For example, during GR I try to confirm a TO in transaction LT11 for just one item and waiting for the rest to be placed physically in order to confirm all the TO but destination bin can not be modified in LT11. Is there any way to confirm item per item but allowing changing destination bin? it is possible to do it in LT12 but not in LT11.

Generally, it is possible to change the destination bin during TO confirmation. However, this is not possible under the following conditions:
o With dynamic coordinates
o If the destination bin location is specified in the movement type
o For posting change transfer orders
o For the physical inventory using a putaway
o For the addition to existing stock for storage units
o For the transaction Confirm Single Item (transaction LT11)
o If a bulk storage type is involved in the stock movement
o In the event of an individual putaway strategy
o If the first item of a TO with storage units is already confirmed
   since all the other items of the storage unit relate to the same
   storage bin. When you save the first TO item, the system changes
   the destination storage bin for all dependent items.
o If this is a replenishment transfer requirement for a fixed
   storage bin.

Change Storage Bin Number in 309 movement type

Hi Gurus,
I have problems with creation TO for movement type 309(material to material posting), when i want to create the TO for that movement type, i can't change the destination bin.. The destination bin field in that TO is disable, how to make that field enable?
I try to add an user exit after creation of that TO, the user exit is MWMTO001.. so the user exit used for change the storage bin number after the TO created.. but that user exit never triggered after TO created.. How it could happen?
Any suggestion, how to change the storage bin number when i want to create TO from 309 movement type(material to material posting)?

Ya, i already create the bin number, for example i material A fixed to bin 00001 and material B fixed to bin 00002, when i do movement 309 from material A to material B, why the bin goes to 00001? why not goes to bin 00002? Because material B is fix to bin number 00002..
For your solution, i just can change the bin during confirmation of the TO? Because, in this case, confirmation of that TO done by external system, so the external system will send idoc to SAP to confirm that TO..

Change of storage bin while cancellation of production order.

Hi Gurus,
The problem is while confirming the order the stock for that order is consuming from one storage bin (say 1ECMEL) , but when I cancel the same production order the same stock was returning to another storage bin (say 1MD01A) instead of the 1ECMEL from which it is consumed.
We want to re-move the stock after cancellation of production order to the same storage bin that from which the stock was consumed during the confirmation.

Please check the material master (mm02) in that if u have maintain default storage location in purchasing view for raw materail and workscheduling viewe for fert system will consider that as default storage bin at the time of confirmation and also for cancelation.

Confirmation (Separate Pick and Transfer)

Hello,
I want to do my confirmation in 2 steps i.e. separate pick and transfer.
I am doing the same with transaction LT12 but system gives an error:
"Separate confirmation of withdrawal and material shipment not allowed".
Could you please let me know the relevant settings required to proceed with this?

Hello,
You would need to the confirmation control for this activity: LE>WM>Activities>Transfers>Confirmation
1) Define the warehouse to allow for 2 step picking
2) Define the source and destination storage type as picking confirmation required
3) Define the movement type that is being used to allow for seperate confirmation or just force the system to confirm even in case of 2 step.
once you do that you shouldnt get the error that you are getting.
Also, this is on IMG help :
At the warehouse number level you define:
whether there is to be separate confirmation of pick and transfer
At the storage type level you define:
whether putaways to this storage type require confirmation
whether picks from this storage type require confirmation
whether a zero stock check is to take place for a bin that becomes empty through the pick
whether the destination storage bin can be changed during confirmation
At the movement type level you define:
whether transfer orders with this movement type can be confirmed immediately
whether the confirmation requirement is to be proposed during transfer order generation
whether single-step confirmation is to be applied although two-step confirmation is set for the source and destination storage types
through which screen the transfer orders are to be cofirmed.
Confirmation Requirement
As soon as one of the above parameters calls for a confirmation requirement for a transfer order item, the item must be confirmed.
Immediate confirmation of a transfer order item only works out if
the respective movement type does not disallow this
if the storage type from which the materials are picked is not subject to pick confirmation
if the storage type into which the materials are put away does not have a putaway confirmation requirement.
Two-Step Confirmation
For two-step confirmation, both storage types involved in the transfer order must be subject to confirmation.
At the warehouse number level, you define whether transfer orders or TO items are to be confirmed in two separate steps.
During the confirmation of the first step, you confirm the pick process from the source storage bin. The source storage bin and the quant are automatically updated. In the quant of the destination storage bin, only the open transfer quantity is updated at this point.
During the confirmation of the second step, you confirm both the transfer process and also the receipt of the material at the destination storage bin. Here the source storage bin and its quant are no longer updated, but only the destination storage bin and the quant stored there.

Goods Movement Qty While Confirming the Order

Hi Friends,
While confirming the order The end user Will go to the goods movement screen and enter the actual consumed Qty (When all BOM components Are marked with automatic Back flush) For the components with 261 movement type and will enter the storage location and batch no if required .
Now my requirement is the user should not have the access (it should be in gray) to the BOM Components qty to change
OR
He should not be able to change beyond the qty As per scrape % Given in Material Master or BOM.
The Reason for this is
Even When there is a shortage for BOM components in SL location, he is reducing/Adjusting the required quantities as per the existing Qty ( If there is no stock then making it to ZERO also) and confirming the order.
Pl suggest me is there any user Exit for this or can I do it thru Standard SPRO settings.

Hi,
You can make screen variant SHD0 for CO11N and hide it.
In t code SHD0, give the transaction variant name ( say ZCO11N )of ur std CO11n.
CO11N screen will appear, when u will save the variant, u will getgood movement tab , it will hide now.
Activate the transaction variant.

RF screen : how to change the bin using LM63...

Hello,
We use LM63 to create transfer orders (TO) from the shipment.
In some case, we need to change the bin wich is proposed by the system.
Is there any solution to change a bin or cancel the TO and create it again using a new bin ? We need to do it from the Radio frequency screen.

In the configuration of the storage type there should be a flag that allows the change of the destination storage bin (within a single storage type).
This bin field should then be changeable in the transfer order confirmation screen and LM63
However, this changeable bin is not supported as standard if you use handling units

Change Batch during TO Confirmation

Hello
I am looking at a problem regarding batches, we have a Warehouse with materials that are batch controlled, and they need to be that, but our problem is that there are several different batches in one bin, and the FIFO princip is not necesary, since this is mostly steel components like plates and pipes, and we need to now which batch went where, we trried the LIFO set up, but the handling of the materials are a bit random so this does not work, so I am trying to find a way to change the batch during confirmation Is there any way, or must i call in the abap man?

Termination error while confirming the transfer order

Hi Csaba/Frenchy,
I am getting termination error while confirming or deleting the TO (TO is created out of a posting change notice). Upon confirmation, the system is giving a message that the TO is confirmed but when I try to go out of the TO confirmation screen (LT12), I get the update termination error resulting in TO not getting confirmed.
Could you pls advise how to go about resolving this issue. Matter urgent please.

One more idea: recreate the PCN (same number, ect) and set the fields via SE16N + &sap_edit as they are in the archived PCN. Else contact SAP AG how to solve.
(I do not know what is the standard solution for this - maybe before archiving belonging data such as open TOs should have been checked...)
Maybe other solution might be if you debug transaction LT12 and when it wants to refresh the PCN you eliminate this with the help of your ABAPer.

WM Bulk Putaway and Picking Strategy Query for a Scenario

I have two Questions ( Putaway and Picking Strategy for Break-Bulk Handling) :
Question 1) Break-Bulk Putaway Strategy
In WM Putaway Strategy for Break-Bulk, I would like to Propose the Bin for Production Receipts based on following constraints relevant for OBD Process
Scenario:
SO-1 Production Order -1 Product -1 Ship-To Party -1 Destination -1 Loading Date 20 Days from Now 8 Levels High Product Stacking Qty 500 MT Occupies 10 Bins total
SO-2 Production order-2   Product -2 Ship-To Party -1 Destination -1 Loading Date 20 Days from Now 6 Levels High Product Stacking   Qty 1000 MT occupies 20 Bins total
SO-3 Production Order -3 Product -1 Ship-To Party -2 Destination 2 Loading Date 20 Days from Now    8 Levels High Product Stacking Qty 200 MT occupies 4 Bins Total
So-4 Production Order -4 Product -3 Ship-To-Party -3 Destination -1 Loading Date 30 Days from Now Qty 10 Levels High Product Stacking 1000 MT Occupies 20 Bins Total
S0-5 Production Order -5 Product -2 Destination -2 Ship-To Party-2   Loading Date 30 Days from Now Qty 6 Levels High Product Stacking 500 MT occupies 10 Bins Total
SO-6 Production Order - 6 Product- 1 Destination-3 Loading Date 10 Days from Now 8 Levels High Product Stacking Qty 2000 MT occupies 20 Bins Total
The production receipts will come randomly into Bulk Area any sequence any day any time 24 X 7 basis . The constraints we need to use are:
1) Materials should not be mixed
2) Different Loading Dates of Same Product also should not be mixed
3) Different destination of Same product or different products should not be mixed
4) Different Ship to Party for same destination should not be mixed
4) We need to reserve in advance maximum number of Bins that entire Sales Order occupies tentatively as soon as the First time material comes to Warehouse for the entire sales Order. Example SO Qty 500 MT assuming 50 MT occupies with different stack heights in one bin. I need to reserve 10 bins total closer to each other in bulk-area . When 2 Products comes, WM System should propose bins already reserved bin in the break-Bulk Area.
5) Different SO-2 product when arrives warehouse, it should not occupy already alloted bin for SO-1
Question 2) Picking Strategy
1) Pick List needs to be generated based on Loading Date at Load Port for all SO's and the sequence of Loading will be first last Destination in the route ( i.e. based on which is delivered at last port needs to be loaded first in the vessel at Load Port )
If the route contains 3 stages
Stage -1 --- First Discharge port
Stage -2 -
Second Discharge Port
Stage -3 --- Last Discharge Port
We need to load in Ship, the SO Product which will be discharge last i.e. Stage 3 Destination.
Next we need to Load Second destination and next we need to Load SO Product going to First Discharge Port.
This Picking proposal needs to come from WM System
How can we address this requirement in WM System?

Thank you for your attention to our question.
We have a workaround for this problem. I have created a Special Movement Indicator with a corresponding WM Movement Type and attached these in the LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management. We will now update our Material Masters with the Special Movement Indicator and keep the Placement and Removal Storage Types the same (the Fixed Bin Storage Type). We have tested this approach and are satified that it meets our needs.

Changing source bin

I want to change source bin once the transfer order is already created is it possible? and how? as far as I know it is not possible, but I want to know if some has done something similiar and how was it? And if you gave a RF solution

I do not think we can change the source bin but we can change the destination bin in case of RF solution.Also I guess it is possible to change the destination bin without RF solution. The destination bin can be changed by maintaining indicator in storage type master data for "Dst bin ch.during confirm".

Picking strategy M

Picking strategy M (Large/Small quantities) has been configured.
Search sequence: 003 - 002
System should pick partial quantity from 003 and full pallet from 002.
6 DU = 1 PAL
Control quantity in material master has been set to 5.
The problem is, when there is no stock in 003 and the quantity ordered is partial (say 1 DU), the system creates a transfer order for 6 DU from storage type: 002. According to configuration, the system should not be checking in 002 at all since quantity is less than 1 PAL, right?

Hi Anushree,
T_QMAT contains the list of Quants fetched by System based on your Search Strategy. In case you do not wish to pick from a particular storage type because the quantity being picked is not a complete Pallet, then you need to modify that particular Quant Entry in T_QMAT.
Say for e.g. in your case no stock was found in 003, so system fetches the Quant from 002 for 1 DU. This particular entry should be deleted from T_QMAT as you don't want the system to consider it. Alternatively, if the Quantity had been say 10 DU and you want 1 PAL to be picked from 002 but not the partial Pallet, then you need to modify the Quantity (AUSME or some other field-check in the table and you will find the correct field-as I am without SAP access right now) available in the Quant entry in T_QMAT (modification instead of deletion). So add the logic to check the Pallet conversion quantity and decide on modification or deletion of the particular Quant entry for the Storage type.
I am not sure if you have to set the indicator for exiting the TO creation Process-need to test it in the system, once I am logged in. But you can make code changes and debug the scenario to arrive at the results.
Alternative: Did you try making the storage type 002 a Pallet storage type with control quantity = Pallet quantity and see if it works.
