Change of ISP

Im anticipating a change in service provider and was wondering if I can maintain my current Verizon e-mail account?  If not what do I have to do to transfer my e-mails?

You can try Verizon your Domain. http://www.verizon.com/home/mlp/utilities/domain-name/
Otherwise try a service that will transfer your email.http://alternativeto.net/software/trueswitch/

I have just changed my ISP and they have informed me that i have to change the IP address on my time capsule. Please can someone tell me how todo this? Thanks

This should really be unnecessary but anyway..
If you mean the internal IP of the TC, the it can be changed by changing the dhcp settings.. which is weird.
It looks a bit different in the v6 utility but is easy to do..
See the DHCP beginning address is split into sections.. change the front section from 10.0 to 192.168
Then update the TC.. then you will need to change everything on the network as the IP will need to change.. I recommend you simply turn everything off and then on again in correct order.. modem.. TC.. clients. 2min gap.

  • How do I connect after I've changed my ISP?

I've recently changed my ISP provider from BT to Bulldog. I am using an Xbridge and an Airport Express connecting to an iBook G4 and an iMac G5 Intel Core. It's been so long since I've had to change the settings that I can't remember where I'm supposed to put my new Bulldog username and password. Should I be entering it in the Networks Pane in System Prefs or should I be digging out the Xbridge installer CD and enter them there? If someone could get me back on the road I'd be grateful. I tried last night and got in a right mess... so I feel I'll probably have to start again from scratch?? Haven't bothered to contact Bulldog yet as I thought I'd ask the professionals (you!) first.

Apple has nothing to do with your cellular data.
Is your iPhone officially unlocked by AT&T?

  • I changed my ISP, how I can Setting up my Time Capsule ?

Recently, I changed my ISP, how I can Setting up my Time Capsule again?

Hello. I jus tbought mine and will be setting up shortly. So I am only guessing here, based on how my airport extreme base station acted when I switched once. When you connect the ethernet to it, it should simply find the signal,a nd prompt you for the password information that you set up with the new ISP.
If not, please report back how it goes..

  • How do I change my ISP with you? My old one is obsolete.

You have me listed at patmedia.net, but my ISP is now comcast.net. Can this be updated?

Thanks, but no, my email is correct. But when I bring up Firefox, it looks for patmedia.net instead of comcast.net as my home page, and I have to retype it. Patmedia was my cable company before comcast took it over. Is there somewhere I can change that?

  • Change of ISP password stops mail sending from iPad

My ISP has a glitch in connecting to hotmail.  They have incorrectly claimed to have fixed it but, in doing so, advised that some domain mail would not work without the domain mail password being changed.
I have changed the password in my desktop but changing it in my iPad mail has killed sending mail.  Not only from my domain mail but also my personal mail and my gmail.
Failed mail goes into my personal mail, outbox.  Very odd.
Nothing will go and the ISP help desk seems to be at a loss.
I can't check the outmail server settings on the iPad, though the in-mail is still correct.  (How can I check the out gate, BTW?)
Anyone have a solution?  To think one change - the domain mail password - could damage all mail.
    Grateful for solutions, please.
    Thanks
    Ron

In the iPad, there seems to be no way to check whether the Out server port settings may have inadvertently changed, either.
As noted, yes there is an easy way to check the Outgoing server settings.

  • OSx Server change in ISP

I changed ISP. What do i need to change for my website to work? I went from a local company to Telus, and now my website won't open.

Your public DNS translation needs to change to your new public static IP address, and the network path in through your new ISP's modem and your gateway device (if any) must be configured to allow remote access.
Basically, this is the same sort of stuff that had to happen last time to get the public DNS working and the modem opened and ports mapped through your previous ISP has to happen again here, taking into account whatever differences and whatever change are needed for the new ISP and the new hardware.
Without knowing the details of the modem and of the gateway and your new ISP requirements, there's not all that much we can help with here.   (I'd hope that there'd be some support pages listing some general information for your new ISP, listing how to configure the IP address, whether the new modem is bridged or routed, how to set up port-forwarding, and related materials.  Those details all tend to be ISP-specific and variously even location-specific details for the ISP, too.)
Alternatively, see if there's somebody local that can assist you with this stuff.  For somebody that knows this stuff and has access to the modem and the gateway and the server, this is pretty quick.  Via questions and answers in a forum, far more difficult.
Alternative suggestion: Hosting your web site somewhere else is another option, too.  There are a number of folks that will host the domain and the web site, and for not very much money.  This outsourcing gets you out of the IT support business.

  • Change of ISP - need to deploy new IP address or DNS name to Active Sync phones

Greetings! We are changing ISP's tomorrow and we JUST finished deploying a bunch of new Galaxy S4's. Before, we were using Blackberrys and the thought never occurred to set up a DNS name for ActiveSync, we were just using the straight IP address. So
it just hit me that, when we switch over tomorrow evening, all the ActiveSync devices will cease to connect. NOT a good thing! Is there a way to push out a DNS name (to replace the IP address), to all the Active Sync clients via a policy update, script or
other mechanism? Otherwise we will have to contact each user and get them to manually update their accounts by entering the new DNS name. If anyone knows a method by which we can do this, please advise and thanks in advance!
    Mike

    Hello,
I agree with Ed's suggestion. After you change ISP, please change your DNS entries to the new IP address.
You can also change DNS A record for autodiscover to the new IP address.
The activesync will use autodiscover service to update profile.

  • 8520 - White dash on wifi after change of ISP

    Hi all,
This is my first post here, and it's a problem my wife's having with her Blackberry 8520. We've changed broadband service providers and the new account was activated today. I've managed to get on fine with my laptop, her laptop, my dell streak and both our iPods, but for some reason we're only having problems with her Blackberry.
When I run the wifi automatic setup, it finds the connection, I enter the password and it says that it's connected fine. Then I go into the status, and there is no tick in the box, only a white hyphen.
Now I've looked around and from what I could see it was due to not having a Blackberry package with the mobile provider. My wife does infact have a bolt-on with o2 for Blackberry, and it has been working fine up until this switch over. Has anybody got any ideas on what to do?
    Much appreciated,
    Martyn

Took some major trial and error, but I finally figured out the proper settings. I think it was luck, really.
The networking system preference thing can be confusing even for long-time Mac users.

  • Change of ISP and can no longer connect with AE

Well, I figured this would happen - I switched from AT&T DSL to Charter High-Speed Internet, and the darn cable modem is making my life difficult. When I plug in with an Ethernet cable to my laptop, no problems. But that's no fun.
When I connect my AE, it's a different story. Connection bars are great (I'm less than five feet away from it now, but posting this using my neighbor's wireless), and the configuration looks just fine in the AirPort Setup Utility. The problem is that I simply can't get anywhere - it won't actually connect to a page. When I use the Apple DNS "test", it recognizes it as an apple.com website and inserts the proper "name", but the computer never gets there.
What am I missing? Everything does look right on the AE configuration and my computer's wireless settings; I'm just not sure what's going on! Thanks!
    12" PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   AirPort Extreme

Already noted two things that I forgot - this is with Charter. I checked old posts on the topic, and some have noted a similar problem. This seems to have been resolved with the old 'unplug in random combinations' trick, but that hasn't worked for me yet. I've tried doing my computer, my modem, and my AE in all six permutations of order.
    I'm stuck. Thanks.

  • I changed my ISP but every time I go to enter my e-mail address on a website, my old ISP comes up first. How can I find and eliminate those instances?

My old e-mail address must be stored in Firefox cache. Where do I find and remove that old address?

  • When I bought my iPhone 5s I set up the email account for iCloud with a Shaw Cable address. Shaw was my ISP. I changed ISP's which rendered my iCloud email account as useless. I did reset my AppleID but it didn't change for iCloud. How can I change?

Ok so now I right the novel. Haha.
I bought my iPhone 5s and set up the AppleID for iCloud to be the same as the Apple ID I already used for iTunes and the App store. I was using @shaw.ca as part  of the emaill address. I changed my ISP to save money so had to change the Apple ID. I had no issues changing it for iTunes and the App store, but it wouldn't change for iCloud. I don't recall the password and can't have it sent to me as that address does not work any longer.
What do I do to get my AppleID for iCloud working again?

Yes, you understood correctly.  From your explanation, you created your hotmail.ca ID by revising the shaw.ca ID.  Given that, you should perform the steps listed in my original post:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished goThen go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • HT204053 I have changed my Apple ID in iTunes, which I access through my current ISP! I have another - old ISP on my mobile which I originally setup to access the App Store. I cannot access the App Store via old Apple ID. How do I change to new Apple ID?

I had two (2) different ISP's, one for the mobile phone and one for the computer. I have changed my Apple ID in iTunes, and also changed my ISP provider for my mobile phone. NOW I cannot acces the App Store (through the iPhone icon. How can I change the Apple ID for access to the App Store which keeps requesting the 'old' Apple ID (lost the password and cannot get help as ISP is no longer available for help) Have tried syn, no rsult, I have the new Apple ID as Apple ID on my mobile phone. Help required here???

To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account.  To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • ASA 5520- ISP change proceedure

    Hello,
our company is going to change its´ ISP.
The External Ips are going to obviously change too.
We have an Active/Standby Firewall and we would like to make the change with at least connectivity downfall as possible.
In our configuration we have nearly all features configured as in a normal Productive Firwall such as , NAT, Site-toSite VPN, Remote Access
Webvpn, ACLs and also routing.  I have looked up some information in this community and still I am not sure about the steps to be
made so to reach our goal.
I have read that chaging only the "names" from the old IP Range to the new Ip range would not really make the change.
The old Ip range will still be configured in the features using the external Ip adress.
Therefore we have to first delete all the information (in the runing config) connected to these Variables and then re insert them.
My biggest worry is that this could be a little bit tricky during the implementation, if some config lines or objects could be left out
during the deleting and inserting procedure.
Have someone any idea how we could make this change with a low percentage of "copy and paste failures"?
I was thinking about in changing the "names" to their new Ips and then afterwards reload the ASA. Will this workout?
Primary ASA will be changed first with the secondary shutdown. ASA Firmware 8.2.2 (12)
    regards
    Ray

    Hi,
I know this is already marked as "Answered", but i just wanted to air my method.
I'm not sure it the most optimal, and there sure are plenty of room for copy-paste errors. Also, the "Remote Access" part can get a bit tricky i guess, if taking too long.
However, i did this a couple of times on a couple of remote ASAs. They weren't paired though, but i can't imagine the procedure being much different.
I "simply" added another "outside" interface and duplicated access-lists, NATs and statics, VPN tunnel-groups and so on.
In these particular cases, all i had to switch was outside management, a couple of statics and the VPN tunnels terminated on the device.
In my own pace, i could move one tunnel at a time, by just adding a static route to my VPN peer out through the new outside.
When the VPN tunnels were done, new VPN profiles distributed and users notified of the changes, i changed the default route too, making the change complete.
All left to do is a lot of cleanup, but that can be done without disturbing the users too.
Of course, both ISPs have to be active at the same time to accomplish this.
    /Sune T.
