  • Change of local currency amount in park document

    Dear SAP Experts,
    I have some queries regarding the local currency in parked document.
    Here are the steps to generate the issues:
    1. Enter vendor invoice using FB01 tcode. E.g the company code currency is MYR, then change the document currency to USD.  Maintain both debit and credit leg for the document. Please enter more than one expense account with different amount at debit side.
    Enter the amount in document currency (in this example is USD) field and enter. System will populate the local curreny (in this case is MYR) based on the table currenct updated in the system.
    At this point, the local currency (MYR) need to be changed based on user's requirement. In this case,they will be some deviation of currency rate since user has manually entered the desired amount for local currency.
    2. Park the document once finished.
    3.Goto transaction FBV0 and open the parked document.
    4. You can see the ammended local currency amount still populated correctly in local currency field.
    5. Post parked document.
    6. Display the document posted and see that the local currency amount has been changed to the amount based on table rate in system.
    Queries:
    a. Is there any way to make sure that the ammended amount would not be changed after the document has been parked and then get posted? Please be informed that this scenario would not happened if the document is directly being posted without parked.
    b. If the exchange rate at document header is being changed based on the desired amount of local currency, this would not be an issue. Since the requirement is only to change the local currency amount at GL level and not at Vendor line item. But at the end the total ammended amount at GL level has to be equal to the vendor total amount. how to resolve this issue? Can standard SAP process/configuration can catered this scenarios..?
    Thanks a lot for you help.
    Your kind cooperation is highly appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    Yuzeila

    Hi SAP experts ,
    My situation is the same - to park GL documents by uploading from a file  and then edit the local currency amount if necessary.
    However in my case we have an excel sheet generated from an external system and our users want to upload them and park all the journals  at a single time.
    We are using RFBIBl0 direct input program to upload the file and park then transaction using FBV1.  Alll the documents are parked with the data  as in the excel sheet.
    Next step is that the users go to FBV0 to edit the parked documents and sometimes it is required to change the local currency based on the current exchange rate and then post the journal  .
    However when the parked documents are edited using FBV0 the local currency amount entered by the user is ignored and the system still  overwrites it with  the system calculated amount .
    b. As per your suggestion - I cannot use FV60 using direct input program as FV60 transaction is not supported.
    Please can you suggest if there is any way to park the Gl documents in background  from a file  and then edit the parked documents as required i.e change amounts and other fields.
    You help is much appretiated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Aarthi

    3. Make changes to Purchase order currency in vendor master. (if required).
    4. Consider controlling are settings. (very difficult)
    5. Change parrelel currencies in OB22.

  • Change of Local Currency of a subsidiary

    Hi Expets,
    We are carrying out change of local currency in the begining of the financial year. Master data changes has been done and also currency translation method is assigned in Balance carryforward task. ( I have done local currency channge in the past years and it has worked properly).
    When I execute, balance carryforward task in test mode, the log shows same value in LC Prior Year and Local Currency.
    It has recognised in the translation parameter new currency but not translating values.
    The rates are maintained in t-curr with the exchange rate type used in the currency translation method.
    Can you please suggest what could be reason for not translating values to new local currency?
    Best Regards,

  • Deactivate "Balance in local currency" in GL Account master data

    Hi all,
    In the system I'm working on, for every P&L GL Account the flag "Balance in local currency" is checked.
    My client required to have a report for the P&L in document currency.
    With this setting it is not possibile to get this information.
    I would like to deactivate the flag "Balance in local currency" for the P&L GL Accounts but the system requires the balance of the GL Account egual to zero.
    Is there a way to uncheck the flag? Have you ever executed the activity?
    Do you know if SAP defined a program to deactivate the "Balance in local currency"?
    Thanks
    Bye
    Stefano

    Hi,
    Generally only balance in local currency checked for B/S GL accounts

    I hope there is no standared report available to activae / deactive only balance in local currency.

  • Change of 3u00BA Local Currency

    Hi all,
    I need to change the 3º Local Currency of one of my company codes. In 'Define Additional Local Currencies' I am not able to change the currency (only field which is not modifiable)which currently is our group currency and has to be changed to an index based currency.
    I would be grateful for any help.
    Thanks
    Claudia.

    Welcome to this forum!
    Change the currency type to 50.  Currency field will change automatically, provided you have specified Index based curr. in Transaction Code OY01 for the country of your company code.  But, is this a live system?  Be cautious of the repercussions before changing additional local currencies.  Think of all the existing accounting documents.

  • Change local currency

    Hi Experts,
    I have a client that need to change the local currency. now it was IDR and then they want to change to USD.
    I believe we have to create a new database for this. but what is to be considered when we want to do this?
    including the financial, inventory, etc
    Regards,
    David

    Hi David,
    you are correct in saying that you will have to create a new database. Before doing so, please keep in mind that all transactions in a company are held in Local Currency (LC), all tax reporting, financial & accounting reporting is done in LC. You might check with a qualified accountant in the country whether it is permissible to use another LC than is actually used in the country. If your client is located in Indonesia, he maybe could use IDR as LC & then can employ USD as system currency (SC). All financial reporting can be done in SC, every JE is posted in SC as well (except RU journals).
    If your customer decides to go ahead with using a different currency, you will need to decide whether you want to start with opening balances or documents/journals or a combination of both. The obstacles are the same as they are when changing from a legacy system to SAP Business One.
    All the best,
    Kerstin

  • Onlybalances on local currency - incorrect foreign currency valuation

    Dear all,
    I have the following problem:
    My customer created some manual accounts and did tick the box for only balances in local currency. Now my customer wanted to do foreign currency valuation on these accounts. I told the customer to make balance zero on account, un-tick "local currency" on GL account master record. And then reverse the document wihich makes the balance zero. This worked fine. But now when the customer wants to do foreign currency valuation (on balances) only new postings after the GL account master data change will be taken into account for balance.
    It must be possible to change this? So that balance in document currency and local currency is correct when comparing to for example line items in fbl3n.
    Very gladful for any help!
    BR Åsa

    Thank you for the information. Just want to make this clear. I did the following. Acoount number is 166000.
    1. Amount in document currency: balance 5000 PLN (debet)
    Amount in local currency: 12000 SEK (debet)
    2. Post a GL account document:
    Credit 12 000 SEK account 166000
    Debet 12000 SEK account 168000 (or any other account).
    3. Un-tick only balances in local currency on GL account master data
    4. Reverse the GL document created in step 2 above.
    5. Test run foreign currency valuation on account 166000 does not show any postings (no balance in other currency).
    Can you please help me with what to do exactly? (GL postings)
    Thank you very much!

  • Local Currency Changeover - Implications

    Hi,
    A company code has the local currency now as USD but it wants to change the local currency to South African Rand.
    What are the steps for making this currency changeover from USD to SA Rand?
    What are the repercussions/implications if the local currency is changed?
    What are the preparations required prior to local currency changeover?
    Have any of you worked in such a scenario? What the pit-falls to watch for?
    Any help in this matter is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Hi Sanjay,
    It is a big question. One that can be answered only after a careful analysis. I will suggest you to get a good understanding of what needs to be done.
    Are you prepared to start a new company code / chart of accounts and import open items & balances as on a cut off date?
    If yes, I will suggest to create a new client & perform that exercise else only SAP technical team can help you.
    Kindly reply for further clarifications. Award points if the answer was helpful.

  • How to clear cumulative local currency balance of foreign currency Bank a/c

    Hi,
    We are facing a problem with the foreign currency Bank account from which we make payment in foreign currency but when we see the balance in local currency there is a difference.
    e.g Local Currency RMB Bank Account Currency USD
    Current Balance in Bank Account 1000 USD RMB rate 0.275 Balance in Local currency 275
    We make a payment of 1000 USD at that time rate is 0.270 Payment in local currency i.e. 270
    When we display of GL Balance of Bank account it is showing 0 balance but balance in RMB still showing 5 KWD which is not correct as we dont have any balance in USD. How to avoid this situation.
    Regards,
    Nirmala S.

    You have to configure realized and unrealized exchange rate gain/loss accounts in transaction code OB09 for all your foreign currency balance sheet accounts.  Once this configuration is done, you have to perform foreign currency valuation (F.05 or FAGL_FC_VAL) to clear the balance in local currency and post it to unrealized exch. rate gain/loss accounts configured in OB09 above.

    F1 Help
    Indicator: Only Manage Balances in Local Currency
    Indicates that balances are updated only in local currency when users post items to this account.
    Use
    You would set this indicator for accounts in which you do not want the system to update transaction figures separately by currency.
    Setting this indicator for accounts managed on an open item basis affects the clearing procedures. See the example below.
    Procedure
    Set the indicator in cash discount clearing accounts and GR/IR clearing accounts. It cannot be set in reconciliation accounts for customers or vendors. Setting it in all other instances is optional.
    It is usually set for particular balance sheet accounts including:
    Accounts which are not managed on an open item basis and not kept in foreign currencies.
    Accounts which are managed on an open item basis and have the same types of items posted in different currencies, but always allow clearing to be made if the local currency amounts correspond.
    Examples
    You set up a clearing account for goods receipts and invoice receipts and manually post these items to it. You post invoice receipts in the invoice currency and goods receipts always in the local currency.
    Invoice receipt            1000 DEM       600 USD
    Goods receipt                              600 USD
    Both items can be cleared if the clearing account balances are recorded in local currency only. If you have not set the indicator for this account, the system will translate DEM to USD during the clearing procedure in order to determine the amount in USD required to clear 1000 DEM. If the translation rate is .65 USD per DEM, then the system displays 650 USD for the invoice receipt and 600 USD for the goods receipt when the open items are processed.
    This means that to clear both of these items, you will also have to enter a difference posting for 50 USD, and the system will automatically make an additional exchange rate difference posting for this amount.
    Makes Business sense as the customer an vendor accounts will have itmes with various currencies posted to it

    Dear suja:
    It is possible to select only balances in local currency for the accounts which have balances.
    Select the standard report, Enter the GL Accounts and currency type. i.e you can view the accounts in local currency.
    Ex: for GL Account balances, select the standard report S_ALR_87012277 - G/L Account Balances,Enter Chart of accounts,GL Accounts,Company code,Account currency as USD for USA or INR for India.
    you can view the accounts in local currency.
    Please let me know if you want more information.
    Assign points if useful.

  • In Journal can i specify the Foreign currency  and local currency amount?

    In Journal Entry can i specify the Foreign currency amount and local currency amount?
    I tried the following code it is working fine using DIAPI.
    Here the Local currency and the System currency is SGD. And the Journal is for USD.
    oJnl.Lines.FCDebit = 120.10
    oJnl.Lines.FCCredit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.FCCurrency = "USD"
    oJnl.Lines.Debit = 120.10
    oJnl.Lines.Credit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.Add()
    oJnl.Lines.FCDebit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.FCCredit = 120.10
    oJnl.Lines.FCCurrency = "USD"
    oJnl.Lines.Debit = 0
    oJnl.Lines.Credit = 120.10
    oJnl.Add()
    But, the above way of doing is not working if i pass this Journal through B1.
    B1 is not allowing to change the local currency amount, Local currency amount is automatically calculated based on the FC amount and the Exchange rate.
    So Can i use the DIAPI to do this? is this right to do?

    Solved.
    In Journal Entry window, please kindly go to Form Settings/Document/
    Table tab page/ Convert Amounts According to Rate upon Exit:
    Clear the checkboxes 'From LC Field' & 'From FC Field', then the Local
    currency amount will not be automatically calculated based on the FC
    amount and the Exchange rate.

    We need to change the Local Currency for a couple of Consolidation Units/Companies - What are the possible ways to achieve this ?
    1. Delete all transaction data, change the settings and then reload it ?
    Or is there any other better way to take care of this ?
    All answers would be duly appreciated and rewarded with points.
