Change of username and latest iPhone Update

I recently successfully changed my Apple Username, following my move to a new ISP. However after having successfully downloaded the latest iOS software onto my iPhone, my phone asked me to complete a few more steps to complete the update. One of which was to enter my Password for the displayed Username. The displayed Username (which could not be altered) was my old Username (the password to which I have now forgotten and unable to receive emails at its' address, ie: from Apple with forgotten password hints etc).
After three failed attempts, I pressed the 'Skip This Step' option and receved the Apple message that my iCloud and Facetime wouldn't be set up correctly as I hadn't entered the required information!
Can someone please help me with what I've done wrong or how I can change the pre-displayed Username information on my iPhone?
Thank you

Sorry, I've just answered my own question (thanks to Winston Churchill!). I deleted my iCloud account on my iPhone, then reinstalled it with my new username and all works well now. So Thanks Sir Winston!

  • Changed icloud username and password can't access other devices

I have three devices from which I use the same iTunes and ICloud account. I changed my username and password on the accounts yesterday. Now I am only able to get it to work on my IPhone 5S. My daughter's IPhone 4 and my IPad will not accept the new passwords. I can't access FaceTime or IMessage on those devices as it keeps prompting me that it is incorrect and to reset. If I reset, it won't work on my IPhone 5S. Help!

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

Turn Time Machine OFF temporarily in its preference pane. Leave the window open.
Navigate in the Finder to your backup disk, and then to the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume. If you back up over a network, you'll first have to mount the disk image file containing your backups by double-clicking it. Descend into the folder until you see the snapshots, which are represented by folders with a name that begins with the date of the snapshot. Find the one you want to restore from. There's a link named "Latest" representing the most recent snapshot. Use that one, if possible. Otherwise, you'll have to remember the date of the snapshot you choose.
Inside the snapshot folder is a folder hierarchy like the one on the source disk. Find one of the items you can't restore and select it. Open the Info dialog for the selected item. In the Sharing & Permissions section, you may see an entry in the access list that shows "Fetching…" in the Name column. If so, click the lock icon in the lower right corner of the dialog and authenticate. Then delete the "Fetching…" item from the icon list. Click the gear icon below the list and select Apply to enclosed items from the popup menu.
Now you should be able either to copy the item in the Finder or to restore it in the time-travel view. If you use the time-travel view, be sure to select the snapshot you just modified. If successful, repeat the operation with the other items you were unable to restore. You can select multiple items in the Finder and open a single Info dialog for all of them by pressing the key combination option-command-I.
When you're done, turn TM back ON and close its preference pane.

  • Latest iPhone update causes mail download to fail

I just doownloaded the latest iPhone update and it seems to be fine syncing one of my gmail accounts, but will not sync the main account. I've shut down and restarted several times and have also verified my data is correct but it still doesn't seem to fix it.

Did some searching - found this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5677640?start=0&tstart=0 which recommended starting in safe mode, repairing disk permissions, and reinstalling the update with the offline installer, which worked.

  • I have changed my username and password but the apps are still asking for my old username and password. How do I change that

I have changed my username and password for my apple account but the apps previously linked to it are still asking for the old info. And I don,t know it so that's why I updated it

Apps are permanently tied to the ID and password used to purchase them. If you do not remember that information, you cannot update them. If you ned these apps, you will have to repurchase them under your new ID.

I hope in the able example the password is cisco.
    Thanks you.

    Hi,
This should be asking you only the password not the username as you have confired with wpa-psk. What client device are you testing this with? If this is wondows machine please choose your sececurity as WPA-Personal on the wireless profile and then it would asked for the Security Key..You will have to enter your password there. The password from the configuration i can see it as cisco.
    wpa-psk ascii 7 cisco
    Hope thats helos,

    itunes 10.2.2
...... and the latest iphone 4 software update also.......????

  • Tried to download and install latest iPhone update

I clicked "Download and Install" when prompted to install the most recent iPhone update and I got this message:
There are purchased items on the iPhone that have not been transferred to your iTunes library. You should transfer these items to your iTunes library before updating this iPhone. Are you sure you want to continue?
What do I need to do (specifically) as I don't know what this it talking about.
    Thanks

This mean there is an app or some other Store content on your phone that you do not yet have in your iTunes library.
In your iTunes menu bar go to file> devices > transfer purchases to move them to your library before you update the iPhone.

  • Latest iPhone update freezes on install

I've looked through a large number of other discussions on here and can't seem to find anyone with the same issue as me.
I went to install the latest update on my phone last night, it downloaded fine, as far as I can see it extracted fine, but then it stopped working. I unplugged it and tried again, only to have my phone now in recovery mode and iTunes still wont do anything for me.
The iPhone screen shows the apple logo and a progress bar which is about 2/3 complete and iTunes is telling me "Restoring iPhone software" with a progress bar that's 99% done.
I tried just leaving it for ages last night, but it never moved further than where it was.
    Help?

    Hi there,
Does iTunes pop up with any error codes? If its happening while software is installing, it could be a corrupt .ipsw. Also, you may have some security software on the iPhone that is not allowing the update to be verified on the Apple servers.
You should try disabling any if this is the case and then test.
    To remove the .ipsw file simply go to one of the below locations depending on your machine;
    Mac OS X
    iPhone
    ~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates
    iPad
    ~/Library/iTunes/iPad Software Updates
    iPod touch
    ~/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates
Note: The tilde "~" represents your Home directory.
    Windows XP
    iPhone
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
    iPad
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
    iPod touch
    C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
Note:If you don't see the Application Data folder, you may need to show hidden files.
    Windows 7 and Vista
    iPhone
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
    iPad
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPad Software Updates
    iPod touch
    C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
Note: If you don't see the AppData folder, you may need to show hidden files.
You then just need to place this file in the trash.

  • Had my hard drive replaced and I've restored from TimeMachine backup. I have changed my username and now I can't access my old backups on my TimeMachine hard drive

I've recently had my hard drive replaced in the Apple Store.
I used time machine to backup and after I got my mac back with the new hard drive I restored all my files which are now on my computer and I can access it with no problems.
The problem is that I've changed my username (admin) and when I enter time machine, I can't access the backups of my old hard drive which is really frustrating.
A red negative sign appears on most folders. Also in macintosh HD/users there is a folder named with my old username and I get the same red negative sign in the folders.
Any idea what can be done about this?
If you need more info just ask.
    Thanks in advance

Turn Time Machine OFF temporarily in its preference pane. Leave the window open.
Navigate in the Finder to your backup disk, and then to the folder named "Backups.backupdb" at the top level of the volume. If you back up over a network, you'll first have to mount the disk image file containing your backups by double-clicking it. Descend into the folder until you see the snapshots, which are represented by folders with a name that begins with the date of the snapshot. Find the one you want to restore from.

  • I cannot change the username that allows keynote updates

Whenever I try to update my apps, the 'Enter your password' screen pops up, however, the previous owner's username is locked in place and there is no way for me to change it to my username and password...So now all of my apps are way outdated. Any idea on how I can unlock that and input my screename? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Delete them and then download them from the desired Apple ID. You may want to erase the existing Mac OS X system and install a fresh one.
