Change operating system from MS-DOS to apple ox

my daughter is a student for grafiks.
She works with a version of creative suite on operating system MS.DOS
Now she has got an apple computer.
Can she install the program and open with the current Product Key?

First, virtually no one is use the pre-Windows operating system called MS-DOS. I think you means the Windows version of InDesign installed with a version of Creative Suite.
Second, if it's a CS version InDesign, you cannot download and install the Mac version and use the serial number. You have to call Adobe Customer Support and ask to transfer your license between platforms.
(Note that if you were using the subscription model InDesign CC, you could install versions on both platforms.)

Did you create recovery discs before downgrading to XP? In case you didn't, then you would need to order them from lenovo.

  • Changing operating system from win7 to win8 voilate my warrenty or not?

want to install win 8 in dv6-7012tx

I would suggest creating a separate partition or use a VM to install Windows Consumer Preview.  Nothing against Windows 8, but I wouldn't recommend replacing a stable OS for a beta

  • Changed operating system mid project in Final Cut Pro

I was working on a  Final Cut project and changed operating systems from Snow leopard to Mavericks in mid project. I have since changed to Mountain Lion as many of my programs were not comparable to run with Mavericks.   My FCP project takes ages to render and auto saves every minute even though I have set it to save less often.  Are these problems the result of changing systems.  I only had a sense this was so after opening an old project and working on it and it running smoothly with fast render etc.
    any help appreciated
    Catherine.

Do a test. With the range tool make a very short range selection of your project and Share>DVD. In the export dialoge >Settings, choose Hard Drive for Output Device. Click on the Add button for menu background. When the next window appears, hit cancel. See if it exports and burns a disk image, If it does, try the complete project.
BTW, is your project length 79 minutes or 79 seconds?

I changed operating systems from WIndows 2000 to Windows XP. I redownloaded and installed the drivers for my webcam. When iopen it, it says that the camera may be used by something else. Why won't it work?

Which webcam do you have? Perhaps you can check out the download pages and download the latest driver for your webcam.

To reinstall the original OSX in your rMBP, boot the MBP using the COMMAND-OPTION-R keys.  The display should show a picture if the planet earth and you will be connected to the Apple servers.   Make certain that you have a solid Internet connection and follow the instructions.

  • Can I copy my Lion operating system from one computer to another in the household

Can I copy my Lion operating system from my Mac Air to another household computer?

It should also be noted that you can upgrade all Apple computers in your home free IF you paid for one license.
It should also be noted that you are NOT supposed to sell a computer that contains an UPGRADED copy of Lion.

  • I switched operating systems from PC to MAC what about my CS6?

    Hey -
I bought photoshop cs6 recently(last fall) and now I have decided to change my operating system from a PC to a MAC how do I switch my program. When I bought the program I told the sales agent that I would be switicing OS soon and she said no problem I wont have to purchase a new version just switch it over. Does anyone know how to do this?

If you bought the perpetually licensed (non Cloud) version of Photoshop CS6 then the serial number is platform specific. Won't work on a Mac.
You'll need to obtain a Mac serial number.
Adobe does offer platform swaps for software but they usually only apply to the current software version
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/order-product-platform-language-swap.htm l
However since CS6 is the last perpetually licensed version that Adobe will offer (since the CC version is Cloud only) perhaps the platform swap option is still valid for you.
Suggest you call Adobe to find out.

  • I have an Imac  operating system 10.4.1 and Apple Works 6 and am having problems with Aplle Works 6. Is there a place I can download Apple Works 6 onto my computer?

I have an Imac  operating system 10.4.1 and Apple Works 6 and am having problems with Aplle Works 6. It shuts down before I am finished. Is there a place I can download Apple Works 6 onto my computer free?

AppleWorks has never been available for legal download.
Have you done the usual trouble shooting steps:
    Quit AppleWorks
Delete most or all of the Recent Items list.
Remove the Preferences files to the Desktop or to the Trash.
Launch AppleWorks to see if the problems remain.
    You'll find Recent Items in:
username > Documents > AppleWorks User Documents > Starting Points > Recent Items
    There are several preferences files.
    Go to:
    username > Library > Preferences
Locate, select and delete the file com.apple.appleworks.plist
Still in the Preferences floder, locate and open the folder AppleWorks.
Select and delete the two Cache files and the Preferences file.
Button Bars is also a preferences file, but may be left where it is IF you have no problems that appear related to the Button Bar, and wish to preserve any changes you've made to the Button Bar.

    Barry

  • I need to update my operating system from 10.5.8 to 10.6, I believe its the one before snow leopard and is just called leopard.

i need to update my operating system from 10.5.8 to 10.6 on my mac mini, I believe its the one before snow leopard and is just called leopard.

You seem to have your OS's confused.   Your profile says 10.6 but you are asking to update from 10.5.8.
10.5.8 is Leopard.   It is also the highest level of Leopard you can achieve.
10.6.(x) is Snow Leopard.   And 10.6.8 is the highest level you can achieve.
If you have 10.6 then all you will need to do is download and apply the combo updater.
If you have 10.5.8, then you will need to review the machine ... Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard -Read the Technical Specifications
Subject the machine will take it, you will then need to buy Snow Leopard from your National on-line Apple store.
Before you start upgrading, back up your files.   If you are unsure how best to do this, the following link is hugely informative.   Most commonly used backup methods: Apple Support Communities
Once you have upgraded to Snow Leopard, your upgrade will take you to 10.6.3 and you then will need to apply the Combo updater.  Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1
and follow with software updates to pick up the most recent security and iTunes updates.
This will give you the best and highest level includine the App Store.
    Good luck.

  • Upgrading and changing operating system

    Hi,
I want to make a change to a Apple Mac in a few months. I also want to upgrade my Lightroom 2.7 to 3.0. What is the best I can do:
First upgrade Lightroom in my Windows systeem and then change my operating system.
First change operating system and then upgrade.
Can someone tell me which option is most save? I don't want the import of my image catalog to go wrong.
    Thanks for your replies.
    Regards,
    Ron

Probably, simply check the supported models below:
    Supported
    Models
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
and if you have one the these machines open the Mac App store and for $20.00 you can upgrade to Mountain Lion.

  • OneKey Recovery 6.0. Problem with back up operating system from recovery cd'ies

Hello, i have problem with back up operating system from recovery cdies.
When i acceped start button to backup partition system i get an alert "space not enough"
I had linux before and i whant change it to windows back. i deleted all ext partitions. I have all unlocated space.I shouldnt have problems.
    Please help me

I would use something like Partition Magic or Acronis Disk Director to first create a FAT32 partion for your C: Drive where your OS will go and be sure to leave 10GB or so unallocated for the secondary FAT32 Partition where your "factory image" will go.
You then create a Logical Drive with the unallocated space and make it hidden (PM or ADD will do this).   Install your OS (preferably Windows XP if you want less problems) and then after you have setup everything the way you want (drivers, applications, etc), then use Acronis True Image to create your "factory restore" image on the hidden partition and activate the Startup Recovery Manager.
This is the way I do it and it works like a charm!

When I will install Sap NetWeaver 7.0 ABAP Trial Version for the second time, will I find all my created development  objects (Programs, tables, data elements, ecc.) stored on the central database ?
If yes, how can I proceed ?
    Thank you.

    Hello,
I don't know how important your system is to you, but it may be quicker/easier to use [SapLink|http://code.google.com/p/saplink/] to download all the objects you need and do a fresh install. That way you also have a backup of your work in case something goes wrong with your SAP system.

  • How do I move my operating system from one internal hard drive to another on the same Mac?

My question is pretty straightforward: How do I—or can I—move my operating system from one internal hard drive to another on the same Mac Pro desktop?

I'll let baltwo come in with a definitive answer, but the last time I just made a clone, CCC used Disk Utility to create a recovery partition on an external drive's partition. You get these windows successively (and it did create it with a message that it was successful):
