Change or Activate Emulated 3.X Datasource

Hello,
I have added one new field in the source and generated export datasource successfully to BI7.0 system.I could replicate the datasource in target correctly but iam unable to activate the datasource as activate option is disbled ....I did tried finding OSS notes but i haven't find any ..,so could u pls help me in resolving this issue .

Yes and below is the rationale..
You want to evaluate the new loading method in your project and you use the emulated DataSource, that is, the DataSource has not yet been migrated and it is displayed as a 3.x DataSource.
As a prerequisite you have already created a new transformation that links the DataSource to the target. It is also assumed that you want to write the data from the PSA to the target in delta mode, meaning that not all data in the PSA should always be transferred by Data Transfer Protocol (DTP) but only the newly added data.
First phase: Creating a DTP
You define and activate a delta DTP that links a particular DataSource to a particular target. At this point, the source/target combination is no longer available in an InfoPackage. If an InfoPackage had transported data to this target from the DataSource concerned, from now on you can no longer select this target in the 'Update' tab page. The corresponding checkbox is not ready for input.
Second phase: Data transfer using DTP
You transfer data from the DTP into the target. Ensure that the system only reads the PSA requests that were not already transferred using the InfoPackage.
Third phase: Resetting the DTP and switching to InfoPackage
If you are not satisfied with the results of the data transfer using DTP, you can switch back to the previous loading method:
1. Delete all delta requests in the target that were transferred using DTP. This is a prerequisite for the next step.
2. Delete the DTP (this is a prerequisite for the next step).
You do not have to delete the transformation.
3. Enter the target in the 'Update' tab page of the InfoPackage
4. You can use the InfoPackage again to load data.
If you want to change to DTP again, continue with the first phase.
A future Support Package provides better support for the migration described above in the UI. You can also change to the loading method using the InfoPackage without deleting data from the target

I am getting this below error while creating tramsformation object through copy option from another transformation.
below is the error details:

Check note 936644 - 3.x DataSource:No active version displayed in UI (emulation).
Excerpt from the note:
To receive an active version of the emulated 3.x DataSource, this has to be assigned to a 3.x InfoSource. You then have to maintain the transfer rules and select "PSA" as the transfer method.
When you activate the transfer rules, the system generates the transfer structure and a Persistent Staging Area (PSA). You can then emulate the 3.x DataSource as an active version.

Yes u can activate the changed PC...............but don't schedule it...........
If u schedule the Chain............when the current chain is running..............it will get stucked in the process..............which was executing ........at the time when it was scheduled.............
I thnk u hav made some chainges in the PC in Planning mode.............right...............Activate it............after the completion of the current run of the chain............schedule the chain........

Standard SAP delivers this program only, If you want multiple options for company codes, ask your ABAPer to copy this program so that he can create a Z program.

How to change the Source system from ONE DataSource?

Hi,
I'm trying to change a DataSource's source system (active with dtp and transfer rules), but it's not possible to do it in change mode because the field 'Source Sytem' is not enabled. I know I can use the BDLS transaction but I understand that this is for change all Datasources and I only want to change one of all.

As I understand apart from file and web services all other data sources are replicated from underlying source system. BDLS transaction is used to change the source system but in case of system copy activity and it is necessary because the data sources points to old source system.
In your case as I understand you will have to replicate the current data source directly from underlying source system and then build the rest of the flow. May I know how you have got this single data source for which the source system is different?

Change Source System client for BI datasources

Friends,
We have created/migrated datasources in QA system using existing SAP Source System, for example, ECC Client 320. Now we want to change the SAP Source System to the different client, for example, ECC Client 330.
All datasources are already created when connected to old Source System (ECC Client 320). The new requirement is to extract the data from new client, from ECC Client 330. We like to change this seamlessly without impacting the data loads, full as well as delta.
Any ideas as to how to accomplish this please?

Hi,
The client mentioned while creating source system in BW is to be changed.
Go to the RFC Destination created for R/3 system in BW and change the client.
Now regarding the delta, the delta has to work fine, as BW system is Client independent. It looks for the Source and bring data.The delta queue is maintained in R/3.if you change the client, the delta will be picked from the new client.

Hi,
Emulated datasource is not a type of DS. It is indeed a 3.5 datasource which you view with BI 7 Interface by using display option from the context menu of a 3.5 DS.
Creating a BI 7 DS:
Goto the datasource tree in the data warehousing workbench. Select the appliation component and from the context menu, choose create datasource of your choice (standard, web service).

Unfortunately you cannot change an @me.com address. Each account will require verification, if you have not yet verified your account:
Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether.

Left/Right(Forward/Back) navigation buttons NOT working (do NOT change color/activate) in FF 3.6.12

Since the most recent FF update to the 3.6.12, I find that the navigation arrows (top left) which normally show/allow you to go back or forward in your browsing, are NOT active and do NOT work. Using default theme. Normally, when there is a page to the left or right )forward/back) of the current one, these will turn blue to show where you can move to. Now the are blank/white and do nothing. Same issue with the reload and STOP icons. HP DV9500, Vista HPSP2 X32, Norton 360, Roboforms, Google Toolbar. cable connect, etc. I have tried restart, cache purge, cleaned out add-ons, reibstalled FF on top of current app., etc.
Any one have any ideas or suggestion? I's appreciate the help.

Impact of the Datasource structure got changed?

I am working on CRM as sourcesystem.I have created datasource with Function module.Data has been loading to the cube since one month.The problem is in the structure Tittle1(40) and Tittle(40) length has taken.But it should have to take Tittle1(60).So I need to change the Structure of the function module.
I would like to know what are the impacts will happen if changed the existing structure at CRM system.What are the steps to be taken to make these changes?What would be the impacts at BW side.

Hi Praveena,
               Firstly there wont be any impact on your BW side assuming that the infoobject you were mapping in B/W can be mapped readily(assuming that you need not change the infooject properties) to the field (the field for which length is changed in the structure).
               On the source system side, once you make your structure changes and activate, you need to make adjustments in function module and in cmod code(if any cmod code exists).
              Apart from the above, there wont be any more impact on other objects. Anyway you want to change the length of a field in your structure, so there wont be much of changes even in FM.
            But you need to replicate your Datasource in BW once your FM is activated after your structure changes

This program can be used in any case...ilke timestamp error or if the data source in gettng inactive after transport in production or any reason for the data loads are not working because of data source issue ..... other then change in the structure of the datasource.
so use it whereever if it can help...there is no condition to use it...but structure changes must be done through transports.

Error while changing the physical IP address of SOA related datasource

I am facing a problem while changing the ip address of my SOA related datasource in weblogic 10.3,Below is a brief description about my prb:
I have created a domain in weblogic 10.3 and have configured a datasource to it and its working fine initially.
But i had to change the ip address of my datasource(i.e Edit the existing the setting of my domain) as my database was migrated to another m/c.The changes that i did was,I changed the url in the connectionpool tab of each of the datasource's listed in admin console(Please let me know if i have left out any other important place in which i had to make this change).
After making this change my ManagedServer starts but my Enterprise Application named soa-infra doesnt start and when i checked the log to find out the error,this is what i came across:

We were able to solve the problem by just restarting our database,

but m still confused do i have to restart my database server each time i change the DB server that m pointing to in my weblogic console and if yes can you pls help me understand what change happens when the database restarts that makes this work.
Another issue that m facing now is that after solving the above prb(by restarting the DB) m not able to deploy process's on to my server.

How to change the source system for just a datasource

Hi,
Our test/development BI system ( BI 7.0 Unicode ) is connected to our development system and to our test system, 1 BI system connected to 2 R/3 systems.
During some time, the test system won't be available so all datasources that point to the test system must be connected to the development system. In RSA1 is not possible to change the source system in a datasource: RSDS 057
'Creation of DataSources for SAP source system D30CLNT007 is not permitted' , same error trying to copy the datasource,.
Any idea about how to proceed ?

Hi,
If I try to repliclate metadata in the datasource, message RSAR 051 appears: 'error when opening an RFC connection'. This error is expected because the logical system pointed in the datasource does not exist.
Is not possible to change the source system in datasource ( in RSA1 ) because the field is always greyed, also if I try to copy the datasource the message RSDS 057 appears.
Any idea about how to proceed ?
