  • Change in Currency in SAP

    Hi
Mine is Indian Company. At present INR is the currency for the company code 1000.
However as per IFRS, my company's functional currency is getting changed to USD from INR
So please let me know if its possible to change the currency of the company code 1000 from 1st April 2011 (date from which IFRS is getting implemented)
Please let me know what are the steps and issues i need to check for changing the currency of on-going company code.

    Hi,
Simply Company Code Currency change not possible,
1 u2013 If you are in ECC implement parlel accounting concept (Leading & Non Leading Ledgers)
2 u2013 In this case leading ledger for Indian GAAP & Non Leading for US / IFRS purpose, same time you will satisfy more than one GAAP.

  • Change Currency in Existing Depreciation Area

Hi Bernhard Kirchner, Brigitte Kuehni and All
I have a requirement to change the Currency for an existing Depreciation Area ( Area Does not post) from TWD to USD.
This depreciation area already has postings in Production.
Could you please suggest, if it is possible and what are the steps to be followed and the data conversion requirements if any.
We have already evaluated the option of creating a new Depreciation area in USD, but that is ruled out following the group norms.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Kavita

    Hi Kavita,
If there are already assets with values in a depreciation area it is no
longer possible to change the currency in transaction OAYH.
The system will not allow you do this, you will get an error.
Once you have postings made, the amounts posted will not automatically
be changed into the new currency.
If the depreciation area 01 is the reference area:
    - a reference area cannot be simply switched to another currency. It
has to be identical with the currency of the local currency.
    - in order to achieve consistency the amounts in this local currency
have to be converted into the new local currency, which cannot be done
by transaction OAYH simply, otherwise the system could become
      inconsistent.
If you change the currency of the depreciation 01 the amounts posted
are not automatically changed into the new currency but taken over one
    to one.
To change the currency,  you should use the conversion tools.
If you are in a development system doing some initial customizing
(never in an already running production system) you can update the
content in table T093B with a self made ABAP program.
Another possibility is to make a new chart of depreciation and configure
its depreciation areas as you like.
    Best regards
    Bernhard

  • Change Local currency of Company Code

  • Change Local Currency For Company

    Dear Expert
I Want to change local currency for company that already have a data.
So From 1996 - 2010 that company used local currency SGD. Now 2011 will be change to USD.
all previous data no need to change.
Can I just change local currency in T-code UCWB?
    Thanks

Yes all previous data will remain the same and only the opening balances and onward have the new local currency.
Make the master data change as well as including the translation method in the balance carry forward task in the configuration (UCWB) before it is executed. This will cause the balance carry forward to translate the old LC to the new LC for the opening balances.

  • Changing Currency of one Company

    Hi,
I have a short question. We have BPC 5.1 on MS.
We are not using the Ownership database.
Now I have to change within a year one company from CHF to EUR (so they were entering/uploading in CHF now in EUR).
We have Account transformations that are copying the Opening Balance values from closing month into the current month.
What is the best way to change from CHF to EUR?
    Thanks and regards

My suggestion will be to create a new Entity and after that you will use this new entity for reporting.
If we will use the same entity but you will change the currency then you will have a problem with previous year reporting.
So LC until now and all the iunput was done in CHF.
If you will change the currecny to be EUR all the input will be done in EUR.
So if you will compare in LC what you have input previous year and what you input this year you will have a problem.
Because previous year LC was actually CHF and not it is EURO.
So you will compare values of two different currency and this will be wrong.
So you have to create a new entity with new currency and you have to copy from CHF of old entity into LC all the values from previous year.
In this way from now you can use this new entity which will have all the values correct for all years.
I hope this it will help you to perform the right change,
    Regards
    Sorin Radulescu

  • Can we assign new IFRS Set of Books to existing Company whose base Currency is INR

    Hi Team,
We have Company setup in base currency INR but due to some issues we also want company data to be maintain in AED.
so.... we want to add one more set of books to this company (where in we have already done may transaction in this company.
Will it be possible to attached new set of books in between current financial year? or how to tackle this.
If not then what can be done to maintain both currencies in same company?
    Regards
    Vishal K.
    +91 986 725 4565

    Hello Vishal,
adding a subsequent set of book (SOB) after go live is not possible with standard tools. It is advised that you contact your SAP representative and request support from SAP’s Cloud Professional Services in order to leverage the strength of the team’s experience to support these
    efforts.
What are the necessary steps for adding a subsequent SOB:
You start with a new fiscal year, the previous year has to be completely closed (no more postings to the previous year, so you should only start after finishing all year end activities).
Current and new SOB have to have the same fiscal year variants.
The whole process is comparable to a migration to this new SOB, so e.g. reversal of transactions created before the start of the new SOB are not possible.

  • CHANGE OVER FROM TAXINJ TO TAXINN

    HI ALL ,
TAXINJ and TAXINN cannot co exist in the same system.
If you are talking about technical Upgrade, then I don't think this would be feasible since old Txn would have got posted with TAXINJ procedure with rates as defined in Tax codes and now after migration to TAXINN in same box, the system would pick value from Condition records.
Just check this basic point of feasibility before we go ahead and look for changes.
In SuN the change is for existing implementation, here at present they have R/3 4.7, and  are now in the process of technical upgrade to ECC 6.00; TAXINN is required to be implemented in the upgraded version.
At present they are using around 129 pricing procedures, 25 sales org,220 tax codes in TAXINJ. Suzlon has 21 company codes, 219 plants and 1300 end users the whole nature of group activities results in use of all possible types of indirect taxes in India like VAT, CST, Excise, Service Tax etc...
i have tried to search on sap help, service market place and others but could not come across any document for the change over. However i will try again.
what are the things i need to take care before any implications busisneww point of view, what will be the status of  open sales order and purchase orders, and  splitting delivery docs. which are under process, what will be the cutoverstrategy.
need ur help and guidance, thanks in advance.
We are migrating from 4.7 to ECC 6.00 ( technical upgrade only), at the same time we will shift from TAXINJ to TAXINN,please let us know the steps requred to do this activity.
RELEASE NOTES OR OSSNOTES, ANY DOCUMENT STEP BY STEP IS REQUIRED asap.

    SRI_CNU

    Hi
    Vasu Sri,
I got this document from some body might help u a bit.
Condition-Based Excise Determination in MM (New)
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise Core 4.70 (SAP_APPL 470), the system can calculate excise duties
and sales tax in Materials Management (MM) using the standard condition technique.
SAP has enhanced the existing tax procedure, TAXINJ, so that it now supports formula-based
and condition-based excise determination. The R/3 System also comes with a new tax procedure,
TAXINN, which only handles condition-based excise determination.
Which Tax Procedure Must I Use?
Existing customers must continue to work using the same tax procedure.
If you switch to a new tax procedure, you cannot display any documents that you have already
posted using the old tax procedure.
If you have worked with formula-based excise determination in previous releases and wish to
continue, you do not have to do anything. However, if you wish to start using the
condition-based excise determination method, proceed as specified below.
We recommend that new customers use the condition-based excise determination and tax
    procedure TAXINN.
<b>How Do the New Functions Work?</b>
First, customize the system in the activities listed below. Then, for each material, create one
condition record for each form of excise duty and sales tax that applies, and enter the tax code
for purchasing documents (see below) in every condition record.
When you come to create a purchase order, enter the tax code in each line item. The tax code
tells the system whether to look in the condition types for formula-based or condition-based
    excise determination
To set up the new excise determination method, carry out the following activities:
    IMG activity
    What to do
    Check Calculation Procedure
Existing customers: Adjust your tax procedure to
match the changes to TAXINJ. Steps 560-583 are new, as are 593-598.
New customers: Create a copy of TAXINN.
    Select Tax Calculation Procedure
New customers only: Assign the copy of
    TAXINN to India.
    Maintain Excise Defaults
New customers only: Enter the condition type
that you use for countervailing duty.
Define Tax Code for Purchasing Documents
    Define a tax code.
Assign Tax Code to Company Codes
Assign the tax code to the company codes that it
    is relevant for.
    Classify Condition Types
Specify which condition types you want to use
    for condition-based excise determination.
    Define Tax Accounts
Check which G/L accounts the various taxes will
be posted to. Define G/L accounts for the account keys used in the tax procedure

India and Accounting -> Financial Accounting -> Accounts Receivable -> Withholding
    Tax -> India.
You can access all other functions using the area menu J1ILN, which you can call from the
SAP Easy Access screen using the transaction code J1ILN.

    16.2 Condition-Based Tax Calculation (New)
    Verwendung
As of SAP R/3 Enterprise Core 4.70 (SAP_APPL 470), a new method for calculating taxes
in Brazil is available, which makes use of the standard condition technique. Tax rates, tax laws,
and special indicators that influence whether tax line items are included in the nota fiscal are all
stored in the system as condition records. An additional tax calculation procedure, TAXBRC, is
delivered for this new method, in addition to the existing one for Brazil, TAXBRJ.
    Auswirkungen auf den Datenbestand
You can continue to calculate taxes using the former method: when the system processes the tax
procedure assigned to the country (TAXBRJ), it calculates the taxes externally by calling
function module J_1BCALCULATE_TAXES. We do, however, recommend that you assign the
new procedure TAXBRC and use the condition-based tax calculation functions, as it enables you
to flexibly adapt the tax calculation logic to cover new legal requirements or special customer
    needs.
You will need to migrate your existing tax rate table entries to condition records, which you
can do directly from the Tax Manager's Workplace described below. You can check all tables
and subsequently convert the entries, whereby the system generates condition records. After the
initial migration, each time you create or change a tax rate table entry, the system automatically
generates a condition record as needed.
    Auswirkungen auf das Customizing
If you want to employ the new condition-based tax calculation, you need to activate it and
carry out all related Customizing activities, under Financial Accounting -> Financial
Accounting Global Settings -> Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Basic Settings -> Brazil
-> Condition-Based Tax Calculation, all of which are new:
    o
    Activate Condition-Based Tax Calculation
    o
Map MM Tax Values to Nota Fiscal Fields
    o
Map SD Tax Values to Nota Fiscal Fields
    o
Map MM Tax Laws to Nota Fiscal Fields
    o
Define Internal Codes for Tax Conditions
    o
Assign Internal Codes for Tax Conditions to Condtion Types
    o
Assign Tax Rate Tables to Condition Tables
In addition, you need to assign the new tax calculation procedure TAXBRC to the country in
Customizing, under Financial Accounting -> Financial Accounting Global Settings ->
Tax on Sales/Purchases -> Basic Settings -> Assign Country to Calculation Procedure.
A new Customizing tool called the Tax Manager's Workplace is available that enables you to
    SAP AG
    2
    SAP-System
    Page 10
make all tax-related settings for Brazil. You access it under the same path as above through
Tax on Sales/Purchases, then Calculation -> Settings for Tax Calculation in Brazil ->
Access Tax Manager's Workplace, or alternatively by entering transaction J1BTAX. You can
use the Tax Manager's Workplace regardless if you use condition-based tax calculation; it
simply brings all tax activities to a single transaction (only the Migration, Nota-Fiscal Mapping,
and Condition Mapping options under the Condition Setup pulldown menu are relevant only for
    condition-based tax calculation).
16.3 Changes to Structures for Country Version India
    Verwendung
As of SAP R/3 4.7, Country Version India is no longer delivered as an add-on, but forms part
    of the standard system.
SAP has discontinued the Country Version India Implementation Guide (IMG) and has added its
activities have been added to the standard Reference IMG as follows:
Activities relating to withholding tax are now located in Customizing for Financial
Accounting (FI), under Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Withholding Tax.
Activities relating to excise duty and excise invoices are in Customizing for Logistics -
General, under Tax on Goods Movements -> India.
As far as the activities under Preparatory Activities are concerned, two of them (Activate
Country Version India for Accounting Interface and Activate Processes) are no longer
relevant and have been removed from the IMG entirely. The activity Execute Country
Installation Program is already included in the standard IMG under the name Localize Sample
Organizational Units. And the other two activities (Activate Country Version India for Specific
Fiscal Years and Activate Business Transaction Events) have been added to the standard IMG.
For information about other changes to the IMG relating to changes in the functions in Country
Version India, see the other release notes.

  • Change the currency of Operating Concern COPA

    Hi,
In my SAP environment there are 4 controlling areas. Only one of them is assigned to Operating concern. The remaining 3 have COPA inactive.
I would like to extend the existing operating concern to remaining 3 controlling areas, but before I do that I need to change the Operating concern currency as the one currently set is only relevant for only one controlling area and company code which is GBP. I need to change it to group currency - USD.
When I use F1 help on currency field in Operating Concern settings in configuration, I get information that 'once data has been posted, however, a change in the operating concern currency would cause the existing data to be interpreted as if it were posted in the new currency (for example: USD 1000.00 in old currency -> DEM 1000.00 in new currency).'
Even though we have transactional data posted in that operating concern , it is not being used by any department and we are quite happy to have existing data interpreted in USD instead of GBP. No reports are being generated in COPA currently so it will not be an issue for us. We want new data to be proper and constistent.
When I try to change the currency in operating concern config, the field is greyed out. I believe there is  more complex workaround for that, but the only note I found on this is  651142 which says that SAP provides different tools to reorganize operating concern. But no further details are included.
If anybody managed to change operating concern currency, please help me with that.
    Regards,

    Hi Karol
I read the note given by you.. It asks you to contact the SAP for SLO Service (System Landscape Optimization )
This is a chargeable service by SAP... In case you decide to go ahead with this, do share your experience with us
Create an OSS msg and give ref of this note... I would suggest to go with SAP service and not with any one else's experiences... The tools that SAP is talking about are available only with SAP..
You may try to archive the existing data from COPA tables and then see if the currency field opens up for editing.. Am not sure about it..
    Regards

I bought my iMac from someone. Everything was changed over to my name however when I try to update programs it only shows the old users apple ID and I can't update. How do I change this so I can update the applications and have everything fully under me?

The first thing to do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. You — not the previous owner — must do that. How you do it depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. Preferably, install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. For early MBA models, you may need a USB optical drive or Remote Disc. You should have received the media from the previous owner, but if you didn't, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. Alternatively, if you have a Time Machine backup of OS X 10.7.3 or later on an external hard drive (not a Time Capsule or other network device), you can boot from that by holding down the option key and selecting it from the row of icons that appears. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted in Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
Then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. To upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
    3. Other issues
If you see a lock screen when trying to boot from installation media or in Recovery mode, then a firmware password was set by the previous owner, or the machine was remotely locked via iCloud. You'll either have to contact the owner or take the machine to an Apple Store or another authorized service provider to be unlocked. You may be asked for proof of ownership.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Mac App Store Customer Service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it immediately under your ID. In that case, you'll either have to wait up to 90 days or contact iTunes Support.
When trying to create a new iCloud account, you might get a failure message: "Account limit reached." Apple imposes a limit of three iCloud account setups per device. Erasing the device does not reset the limit. You can still use an account that was created on another device, but you won't be able to create a new one. Contact iCloud Support for more information.

If you really want to allocate a different chart of accounts to the company code, first of all reset the company-code specific data for the old chart of accounts.
    1. First of all you must, if it exists, reset the transaction data for this company code.
    2. Finally, carry out the resetting of the company code-dependent G/L account master data (without the general master data).
    Note:
When dealing with large quantities of data, resetting the master data or transaction data can be very time-consuming. In this case, it is advisable to schedule the running of these reports as a batch run.
